Brands that I've seen sold here are Ralph Lauren Home, Marge Carson, Baker and Hickory White. Besides interior design services, there are art pieces, home decor items and even coffee table books for purchase. The last time I visited, I dragged a friend in with me as she was intimidated by what she saw staged in front. I knew once she got over herself and looked around she would be taken aback by the beauty of the pieces. We came across this lamp that she gasped at, and an employee saw her. He came over and offered to help us out. He got a light bulb as there wasn't one in it and placed it in the lamp then plugged it in. The base was made of rock and was a pure stunner, even more so with the light on. Just fabulous. My friend collects crystals and rocks, so she went off on a tangent asking questions, and the sales agent indulged her and didn't BS her when she asked things he didn't know, and he offered to find out. They have several full, decorated Christmas trees during the holidays that you can buy and have transported home so you don't have to do any decorating yourself. Meeting Kate during the initial consult, it was clear that this was THE staging company we needed. She noted so many details throughout the house and yard, offered a wide variety of design suggestions, and was already thinking through strategies for each room. They were able to accommodate our need to still live in the house (with a dog), and their pricing was extremely competitive. Every dollar spent had an amazing return. Though we knew their team would do a superb job, we were still completely blown away by how the house presented when they were done! Colors, textures, wall art, furniture and rug selection, and even angles of decor all worked cohesively to make our house inviting for all who toured. The remodel replaced the floor with vinyl tile, replaced the tub surround tiles with vinyl sheets and replaced the vanity, counter mirror, tub, lights and all fixtures. The finished bathroom looks great with no issues. The fixtures, vanity and surfaces chosen by the Lux design crew look great. The installer did a great job, was very courteous and did the job with minimal disruption.

I had gone to Lowe's, Home Depot and even IKEA for the kitchen plans I had paid to have designed and measured. Even with the special discounts and sales that the others had, ABS saved me thousands of dollars in my renovation. Not only did I get exactly what I wanted, the installation was a pleasant and easy experience. The contractors were very thoughtful , professional and their attention to detail was impressive. Writing a very lengthy review in hopes that others can make informed decisions about working with Phinney Ridge after our disappointing experience. In October of 2024, we chose to work with a small, local business because we expected a higher standard of quality, craftsmanship, and personalized service. Our initial experience in the showroom met that expectation and gave us confidence in the process ahead. Unfortunately, the remainder of the project did not reflect the level of service or product quality we anticipated. 10 months later, and we are severely disappointed with how things unfolded. This was a substantial investment--nearly $70,000--and we expected a finished product that aligned with the value and promises made. The first issues arose when the cabinet boxes arrived damaged. To PRC's credit, they addressed this with a restoration expert, and we're satisfied with how those specific concerns were resolved. However, the ongoing issues with woodgrain matching have been far more frustrating and ultimately unresolved. After three separate attempts, it became clear that a proper match was not going to be achieved. We were made aware by PRC that we would be receiving cabinets "from the same tree" to ensure an exact match across all cabinets. One day one, we had multiple varieties of wood grain/color. If consistent material wasn't available, we should have been given the option to wait. Instead, we now have five visibly different shades of wood throughout our kitchen as shown in the photos. We were also disappointed in the communication and service from Phinney Ridge once the "Pacific Coastal Marketing" team (a dealer representative/middleman) became involved. We did not expect to work through a third party--we selected PRC specifically because we wanted to avoid that kind of detachment. I found myself repeatedly chasing updates, which, according to PRC's own "Cabinetry Design Services" document, should have been handled by their team. It was unclear who was responsible for what, and the handoffs between Phinney Ridge and Pacific Coastal Marketing only compounded our frustration. To illustrate this disconnect, I'll share a quote from Pacific Coastal Marketing's homepage that I found telling: "Coastal Pacific Marketing offers valuable knowledge of the markets they serve... Their goal is always the mutual success of the manufacturer, the dealership, and each individual designer." Notably, the customer is not mentioned. This perfectly reflects the experience we had: at a certain point, it felt like the end user was no longer the priority. I share all of this not to be combative, but because I believe in honest feedback and hope this helps improve future experiences. Based on our experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend Phinney Ridge Cabinets to others.

J&C Contractors did an extensive renovation of our kitchen, laundry, and powder rooms. It was a…read moretotal "to the studs" (& beyond) project, and John and his team were fantastic to work with. This project involved multiple structural changes, as we moved load-bearing walls and pushed out an exterior wall to add square footage to the space, plus HVAC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, siding, windows, tiling, hardwoord flooring, cabinets and custom carpentry, painting, etc. We especially appreciated how John and Marcos would talk through options with us. They always gave us clear choices with an understanding of how they would impact pricing and timelines. We also really appreciated their flexibility when we decided to push out the exterior wall, which was a change to the original scope. John worked hard to get the engineer and city back quickly to approve the permit revision, and also was strategic about what work continued while we waited for that to ensure we weren't taking on unnecessary risk. The attention to detail is another thing the J&C team does exceptionally well - we had custom cabinets with a really complicated façade to cover a soffit, and the team didn't think the original plan looked good enough, so they basically built an extra piece from scratch to make the entire thing look seamless. For our window installation, Marcos came up with a brilliant idea for how to frame the window using the same stone slab as our backsplash and it's truly one of my favorite features. Also, I realize it seems like a given, but based on many other renovations we've seen, the fact that everything is perfectly level and centered is huge (even the cabinet drawer faces all line up exactly!). Finally, the team did a fantastic job keeping the area as clean as possible. This was critical as we chose to live in our house during the renovation. They would regularly inspect the plastic walls and make sure things were sealed well, plus they cleaned up after themselves every day and when the project was completed. Really fantastic experience, and we'll be hiring J&C for any future projects!

Their fixed bid included removing the window trim and the siding around the window to fix the leak, and to replace the window trim and siding with new materials. They removed the window trim only and then told me that the issue was with the window flashing. So they reflashed the window and replaced the window trim. They did not remove or replace any of the siding. Even though they were only at my house for 3 hours (and that included a trip to the lumber yard for supplies) I foolishly paid them $750 for this work. A few days later after a heavy rain the window leaked again. I called them and asked them to come back. I continued to call and leave messages every 4 or 5 days and finally got someone to answer my call. They said they would come out in a week. Another few weeks went by and they still had not come out. I continued to call and email. Finally when I got in contact with them they said that the $750 was for that work only and they would not credit any of that amount to continue to search for the leak, even though their original bid was going to include siding removal and replacement. They were not willing to do the remainder of the work that I had paid for on the original bid. Here's my breakdown of what it cost me: $100 materials (my estimate) 2 people's labor at $108/hour for 3 hours -------- $750 It does not take two people to replace 4 pieces of wood around a window. Nor do contractors in the Seattle area get paid $108/hour
