Could t be more pleased with Alex and his work! Alex is extremely neat, precise and punctual. We contacted him over a year and a half ago to install a set of Ikea cabinets in our pantry. Unfortunately, with COVID, there were massive delays and supply chain interruptions. Through it all, Alex was extremely patient, honest and clear. We ended up downsizing the scope of our Ikea cabinets, which meant a smaller job for Alex. But that didn't bother Alex. He treated the job in a professional manner. As for the work itself, it's fantastic! There are lots of people out there who can install Ikea cabinets, but I think you would be hard pressed to find someone with the carpentry skills to match Alex. A few things I noticed about his work that really impressed me and made me feel I made the right choice in going with Alex: he has the right tools for the job and he takes care of them. I noticed he used a new fresh blade on his saw. He also had a nice long level and several other gadgets to make sure everything is straight and leveled. We ended up using ikea cabinets only in one part of our pantry, but Alex's work was so good that it blends seamlessly with the other cabinets. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and there is no way we could have installed the cabinets the way Alex did! Alex is incredible! He has fixed two major issues that occurred with my 8 yo IKEA-installed kitchen over the last several years. First, IKEA did not install my dishwasher correctly and a couple of years after the install, it stopped closing correctly. Alex came and diagnosed exactly what the issue was! IKEA had not installed the side walls with true vertical separators. He found an ingenious solution to the problem and got it fixed at a very reasonable price. Then, most recently he re-engineered the rolling kitchen island that IKEA had installed for me. IKEA said it could not be fixed, it was past the warranty, and had to be totally replaced at a cost of thousands of dollars. But Alex, again found an ingenious fix. It is now working beautifully and is in perfect condition, and nothing needed replacing. I am telling you, sincerely, that this guy is incredible, both in his engineering and IKEA construction skills. Don't hesitate to use Alex for any IKEA issues or assembly. Alex is the best professional I have ever hired. I hired Alex for a complex IKEA kitchen design which included a custom island support with only a rough design. His skills and experience were unmatched by any other installer (believe me, I called 5 different installers), and his inputs were invaluable. I could not had hoped for a better professional. His work ethic and attention to detail are amazing - from making sure every little line is plumb and level, to protecting the tiniest corner when working with a power tool nearby. He also custom-built our island and cut a cabinet to a custom size beautifully. I haven't seen this level of work even in high-end showrooms. Prices: For a standard installation with no custom work, the prices are standard and were about the same as the quotes I received from other independent installers. For the custom work (which other installers refused to do or tried to scare me with high quotes) - the prices are very affordable and Alex offered a fantastic deal here, basically charging installation dollar for a custom built product. Don't go with Traemand (official installers) of course, they are expensive and not half as good. Last but not least, he even helped me with returning a large extra piece to IKEA since it did not fit in my car. If you can dream it - Alex can build it! read more

My family has been helping to upgrade my little very outdated (think 1970s) house and the project ended up being too much. We bit off more than we can chew. If you need IKEA cabinets assembled and/or installed properly, call Alex! When choosing someone to assemble and install my kitchen cabinets I wanted someone with IKEA experience. I wasn't able to wait for Alex's schedule to free up so I went with someone else. BIG mistake. Alex has the necessary IKEA cabinetry experience, carpentry skills and attention to details to get the job done right - the FIRST time. The first person I hired, did not know how to install the cabinet suspension rails, did not check if things were level or the right height and was unable to cut the cover panels to their proper size but still installed everything - wrong. Alex was the only one, of 4 people I asked for estimates, who dared to fix the huge mess the first guy created. Why, why, why can't all contractors be as professional and efficient as Alex?!?! We got a small kitchen from Ikea. We found the contractors provided by Ikea had a long wait time (and of course the cost was more than what Alex quoted) so after more research we found Alex. We had a few delays with our remodel but Alex was super patient in working with us and rescheduled as we needed. On the scheduled day, Alex quickly unloaded all of his tools and set up shop, and within 30 minutes was breaking into the boxes. He didn't even need to look at my Ikea packing list, just the Ikea kitchen layout that I had printed out so Alex knew exactly what to do. Alex is super professional, obviously very knowledgeable and made recommendations on how to hide some imperfections in the dry wall constructions. Alex is also a perfectionist. He went back and checked spacing between doors, made sure there is no issues with the installations and also made sure it looked good. We had 8-10 cabinets and they were all installed within 2 days, and they look great! The counter top guy came tout for measurement and everything was perfectly leveled. Seeing this work, we had so much more confidence in Alex, we bought pax closets. Alex installed them in a very tight spacing. These pax closets could not be installed as recommended per the manual. Just had our entire kitchen demolished and had IKEA cabinets installed by Traemand. So very happy with the work they (Wes and Blake) did. Our house is almost 100 years old, and nothing in it is square or level, but these guys did a fabulous job of lining everything up. They showed up every day on time and worked the full day (not even much (if any) time for lunch). They completed the job on the date we were told it would be done. The cabinets are great. Wes and Blake were very easy to work with (even with my stupid questions), and their workmanship is top notch and you can tell they took pride in their work. It's been frustrating. Be aware you are dealing with a rigid bureaucracy. They will only do things their way., and their way may change. We had to remove two year old IKEA cabinets because of water damage. We ordered identical replacements cabinets, explaining to the salesperson we had a good solid base and just needed cabinets, not the base and we wanted the IKEA installers, Traemand, to do the work. When the first installer came he announced he couldn't use the base, against company policy. Would have been nice if the salesperson had known that or told us that at the time of the sale. Another trip to IKEA to buy approved legs and a two week delay and we had to incur the expense of removing the base. The second installer hit a water line drilling into the kitchen wall. Accidents happen and it's an old house, but the IKEA repairman who was supposed to fix that water damage showed up on the wrong day. Okay, finally the wall was repaired & ready. The third installer shows up and announces the floor is too uneven to use the legs the first installer told us to buy and that we needed a solid base. And by the way, he showed up nearly three hours last. After phone calls to head office, modifications were made and cabinets installed. Work was overall good, but our other contractor had to do some of the finish work to hide rough edges & such. Not impressed. read more
