Mini cocotte with heart knob
Chandra P.

I really appreciate the convenience and ease of in person shopping Sur La Table offers, I typically visit this location when seeking hard to find Le Creuset pieces or specialty utensils. Customer service is really good and very personalized in comparison to larger culinary specialty stores. The cooking classes that are currently offered are for children 7 and up, I do wish there were toddler & parent classes as I believe it would be a fun activity. Overall great shopping/browsing option for us food and culinary enthusiasts!

Cucumber salad

We recently did a work team building event here and joined the cooking class for Korean food! We were given 4 dishes to make altogether. They were cucumber salad, beef bulgogi, japchea, and Korean pancakes. The Chef was patient. He showed us how to cut each vegetable upfront and then he walked around and personally showed us up close. He shared with us the actual ingredients and where to buy. It was evident that the Chef knew his Korean food! ImThe helping staff were very pleasant and often came by to give tips and cleaned our working area. We enjoyed the team event and the best part was that we could eat what we made! There was also a 20% discount on any Sur la tan retail items and 10% for everything else. Highly recommend!

Cast iron braised chicken

We attended a cooking class at the Sur la Table in the Kirkland location. Everything was provided and the chef checked on us multiple times. We went for the cast iron class. He was able to answer many of the questions that the class had and taught us other skills like how to use the knife better. Looking forward to doing another class here!!

Bougie kitchenware store. You know, for the serious chefs or well off stay at home parents. I'm sure everything is the finest quality possible, but oh man, an espresso machine runs 3k here, which means it you need to drink about 600 cups of coffee to break even with the cost of the machine before it starts saving you money on buying Starbucks. This location has a kitchen and host cooking classes quite often. It's a fun activity to indulge in and it's also such a great gift idea to give somebody so they get the experience to remember for a lifetime vs. something material. The store in on a major street along downtown Kirkland, there is complimentary 3 hours parking that it not attached to the store at all so it's definitely not obvious, you have to turn up the hill into a retail garage. It's pretty tight so I'd say only use it if you're taking a class and plan on staying long, if you're planning to just shop, there's plenty of closer parking along the strip. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

We were put on the waitlist after doing so but then got a text several days later saying two spots opened for us, so I snagged our seats as fast as I could. Really appreciate the staff on the other line for reaching out to me and "reserving" my spots unless I let them know I'm not interested! Getting here, there is the Meyden Garage that offers 3-hour free parking for customers of Whisk and other surrounding businesses though most spaces inside there did not have the signage saying that so it was confusing parking around there. Getting inside the building, you'll see what can only be described as a haven for chefs and aspiring cooks of all levels; you have cooking tools, pots and pans, cookbooks, plates, neatly folded cloth napkins and a bunch of other things strewn around in such a colorful and organized manner. The kitchen for our cooking class was clean and spacious, with all the ingredients we need prepped and set out in front of us. We worked in pairs prepping and cooking all our dishes throughout. Chef Thanh Tang was very informative and engaging throughout the whole process, and the other staff working with him were efficient in cleaning used utensils and keeping everyone's prepped items in check. Instructions were very clear, and directions flowed very well since we made one dumpling after another! Since both of us don't really cook and we had many questions to ask, it took us a bit to catch up with the rest of the class, but all the folding techniques became much easier to do thanks to our teacher. For this particular class, we pan-fried the shrimp and chive dumplings, while the wontons and steamed vegetable dumplings we prepped were steamed while we all took a break. As for the spicy green beans, I actually had the chance to stir-fry a non-spicy version of them in front of the class! All the food we made here was really good, and we came close to having to box some of it home too! Everything here was worth the $150 per person from the experience to the food, and I'd take another class here in the future! For reference, the class I took is called "More Dumplings, Dumpling?" and ran on a Saturday from 5:30-8:30pm though that's just a timeframe since I did stay slightly longer just to finish my food!

It was a fun experience. You show up and get greeted by their staff. You'll find your station and go to work! Some of the ingredients are pre-prepped which is nice otherwise you'd be there all night haha. The class was roughly 2 hours long and then we enjoyed dinner all together so roughly a 2.5 hour experience when it was all said and done. The fans kick in so it can be a tad bit loud when everyone is cooking but the instructor was great and made his way around the room to make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to do. They had 2 additional staff members helping out to make sure any ingredients you needed were available. Plus - you get a glass of wine :) Fun date night!

Growing up, it was a store my grandma enjoyed, my mom enjoyed, and my sibling (an older sister) and I enjoyed. As a family favorite across multiple generations, our visits could get to be a bit lengthy - and were always fun. The workers were consistently kind, and the interior was warm, well laid out, and without dust. Offerings included festive items during the holidays. It is one of few stores in my life I have gone looking over every item on the shelves on multiple different occasions because we were taking so long in the store. My first time doing this I was uncertain of how to approach it, though I was certain that I did not need anything. Then, going through the items, I found a few items I wanted that I had entirely not anticipated. This happened a couple times until the store became a fixture in my memory of where to go to looking for specific items/kitchen item genres.

A delight for anyone who enjoys cooking. We spotted several items that would be great gifts... After talking with the very nice owners, I decided to buy my son (who lives in Ballard) some Christmas presents. We presented them with the problem that we would be returning to southern California, where my son will join us for Christmas. It didn't make sense to fly stuff down that he would then have to fly home. They suggested that I could buy the presents, I could give my son a card and the gift receipt, and he could collect the present when he came home. Genius! The owners put my gifts into a gift bag, topped it with crumpled purple tissue paper, and put it into the back to await my son's return.

It is located between PetSmart and Sprouts. Received a giant shopping bag upon entry, thanks! Never been inside a HomeGoods, brand new so very tidy and orderly. Places like Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Marshall's can be a bit messy in contrast. It has a a little bit of this and that of various home stuff and things. Perfect to refresh or fully outfit your home without breaking the bank. I was debating between a soft spring throw or a sauce pan, the latter wins! I zoomed past the vast kitchen gadgets and utensils and anything bunny related, resist impulse weaknesses. But roamed each aisle and got some note to self decorating ideas. My style seems to be post dormitory with a wee bit of orderly hoarder, lol. Prices were reasonable and a terrific variety. Check it out you're in the North Seattle. HomeGoods is located conveniently west of the I-5 N 130th exit or Hwy 99/Aurora whether by car or bus.
