I got to try this place out today while being in the area. This coffee shop is definitely a small coffee shop with no indoor seating but definite has outdoor seating space. This coffee shop is a coffee lovers paradise because I truly feel like their menu caters to coffee lovers. My husband and I are tSA drinkers but still found something for ourselves. I had a chai almond chai that was iced and he had a cherry limeade. My chai was honestly a lot less sweeter than I am use to but it was still good and my husband liked his cherry limeade. The shop had a augers these and I saw a lot of mention of the Katin on the walls. The staff was friendly and truly quick and efficient with the orders. The pastries looked amazing but didn't get to try! I will have to next time! read more

Visited this cute coffee shop after walking the dogs near the beautiful trail area. Service was great and fast and bathrooms was very clean which is always a plus! Lots of different coffee options and pastries you can choose from to enjoy. Definitely a must stop by if you're in the area! Equator has consistently been on my list of the best Bay Area roasters! I'll stop by this location in particular when hiking around Mill Valley or if I'm just driving by. ___The Good___ And there is much to like! 1) For starters, Equator provides a quality cup of coffee without much of the pretentiousness you'll find in some other places. Have a sip! Their coffee is very good. They know and understand where their coffee beans are grown, who grows them, and what methods are used. I'll usually order a pour-over coffee and have yet to be disappointed. 2) A portion of certain purchases goes directly to some good causes. Some of the money I spent on pour-over coffee has gone to orphans in Zimbabwe and cervical cancer screenings. Moreover, when you purchase certain bags of coffee, a portion of that goes to select local restaurants affected by the pandemic. 3) They also offer some interesting lattes. My girlfriend ordered the habibi (orange blossom, cardamom, clove, vanilla syrup, 2 shots espresso & steamed milk) and loved it, though I thought it was overly floral. 4)Their pastries are good. I am particularly fond of the morning buns. ___The Bad___ Of course, there are a few things I dislike. 1) This particular location has a limited menu, so don't come here expecting to order the breakfast frittata sandwich (even though their website indicates Mill Valley should have this available). You're probably better off looking at yelp photos, calling them ahead of time, or just plain passing by to see what's available). 2) Subpar breakfast burritos. I mean, I suppose they are ok if you are a child, but it won't be particularly filling for full-grown adults. Furthermore, I'll get quite a few bites that are mostly tortilla (see photo). Moreover, while an employee claimed that their red salsa was spicy, neither myself not my girlfriend detected any heat. We tried both the red and the green salsas and thought they were the same spice level. She (a San Diego native) thought of the salsas as more gazpacho than actual salsa. If you must order a burrito, I thought their steak was much better than their bacon/egg/cheese. 3) Limited parking. ___COVID-19 Updates___ Currently, you enter through the back of the building, place your order at the register, and pick up at the long surfboard/table in the front patio. read more

A perfect cup of coffee after a hike. I really enjoyed how their coffee taste, with a natural sweetness and not the burnt coffee taste. I got their vanilla latte with their Columbia la Christina coffee for $0.50 more. I like that their coffee comes from a small farm and they are focus on quality and sustainability. They are also very good at enforcing and reminding their customers of covid guidelines and their set up, including one way entrance. It's a great find. A warning that the wait may take a bit longer than expected because they do have a lot of pick up orders. read more

This is a review more for Equator as a brand, but since this is their flagship cafe (I believe), I'll post it here. Equator has become my go-to pandemic coffee. I didn't go anywhere for the first few months of shelter-in-place. My husband was deployed and I didn't feel comfortable bringing my two young children into stores. Not only is it hard for them to maintain social distance, but masks don't fit the smallest faces well. When I first ran low on coffee, I put in a generic order for ground coffee in my list for Andy's delivery. (We have multiple grinders, but that was just one more task that I didn't feel like I had time for). After a week of Peet's grounds slipping through percolator filter, I decided that I realized that if I ordered from a local roaster, I would simultaneously support a local business and have a new at-home luxury at a time when other small pleasures were out of reach. Equator has made getting quality coffee at home so easy. They ship free with a $32 purchase, which is about two bags of coffee. Purists can get whole beans or, if you're feeling less ambitious like me, you can order the grind of your choice. Many other roasters I looked up only offer whole beans. And shipping is ridiculously fast--I swear my box sometimes came the next day--which means that even if you order it ground, it's still fresh. I've sent bags to family members across the country and somehow Equator managed to get those delivered within 2-3 days. read more

What a great find! We had good customer service and the drinks were prepared perfectly. Not overly sweet, just as we asked. They have an outdoor seating area that you can have your dog with you. For COVID safety your order from the walk up window and they have a table in front of the cafe door which they bring your order to. Loved the iced oat latte- phenomenally smooth. Just simply deliciously creamy and velvety silky texture. Absolutely melodious tones on the blend. Highly recommend it. Bit of a weak chai though. Pandemic Review: After checking out surfboards at Proof Lab, I was wanting to locate an espresso. About twenty feet away from my car was a cafe. How convenient! I'm always up for trying new places. They serve Equator coffee (from San Rafael) which I've had before (at Copperfield's in San Rafael and Kizler in Pacifica). It's good coffee, but my espresso became great when I discovered that my favorite barista Alex works there. What a fantastic surprise! I will be back. read more

I went here for afternoon coffee and got the shakerato. Very creamy and not too sweet, I still think about it even a week later. It's not watered down either even with it being shaken to chill. Parking is not the best in the afternoon so just beware. read more

The location and environment of this little coffee shop is cute, calm and overall enjoyable. Unfortunately the wait at this location is ridiculously high for only serving coffee. Not only that but the baked good items they display and serve are not heated up for you. In total we spent $18 for two coffees and a baked good. We've been here twice now - once because I saw a surf shop, and then bam! Coffee! This is situated along the road next to the surf shop w/ such cute surf decor that rightfully fits the posh area they are located in. It has plenty of seating outside in the front or outside in the back and a lot of parking spots available. Most importantly, their coffee is on point. There is usually a huge line, but when we got there, it was just us. Once we were done the ordering, the line grew 20 ppl long! The Barista was joking about the long nonexistant line... I get it now... I ordered an espresso that is serve w/ some sparkling (a must) and a few glazed donut holes. It hit the spot. They have plenty of pastries and lunch offerings, such as croissants, donuts, boiled eggs, sandwiches, variety of coffee, including matcha latte and Pacific Soy milk. This totally doesn't seem like it's a small boutique chain, but it is and they do it well.
