Pink Owl has everything. Comfortable, soothing ambience. Comfortable seating. Wonderful coffee and delicious treats. Pink Owl is our favorite place to stop. I wish there were more of them and I love the fact that they support breast cancer research.

Pink Owl Cafe We got white mocha and a egg nogg white mocha. White mocha had a nice balance of flavor. Egg nogg white mocha was alittle more bitter and tasted more like milk.

The Farm blend ground for a pour over is my order on repeat. Great family run business! They also offer cappuccinos for dogs-- pupuchinos!

Coffee beans add to the vibe, and the selection of fun goodies too

The downtown Pink Owl location has the better atmosphere, is bigger, and has light food options. However the other location has more available parking. Interior is hip and stylish, with lots of plants, dim lights, and usually disco music. There are plenty of non-coffee options, as well as some rotating fun coffee options with their seasonal specials. I recently got a Turkish delight oat latte, which was delicious and the right kind of sweet. Plenty of seating, with options on couch comfy/pillow seating and more serious booth or chair seating. There is also a lot of merchandise, including beans, mugs, and misc gifts. The coffee shop has WiFi and plenty of power outlets on tables, so it's a great place to get some work or studying done. However, the music is too loud if you happen to find the need for an emergency conference call.

I was in town visiting. While I was in downtown San Rafael, I was looking for a quick bite and coffee for breakfast. I dropped into the Pink Owl. It was my first ever visit. The staff was outstanding. Engaging and helpful. The bagel was good but the chocolate muffin was out of this world delicious. However, my chai latte fell flat. It was lacking a creaminess and deep tea and spice flavor. Besides coffee drinks the menu includes baked items, bagels $5.75, toasts $12-15 and sandwiches $15. The chocolate muffin was big and plump. Moist. Chocolaty but not overly sweet. The chai latte, as I mentioned before, missed the mark. But hey this place is a coffee haus not a bakery. From the outside, the place has a modern bohemian charm. The patio furniture was a bold teal color and the painted pink owl in the window was quirky. The inside was just as charming. They had tables and chairs, cushy sofas and plush reading chairs, with lots of USB ports and outlets scattered about. The vibe was lively and chill with a diverse bunch.

Nice place to get a reasonably priced coffee and chill and read. Nice location downtown and lots of seating inside and outside. Snacks for sale too

I love all the pink, it's so pretty. This is the only café I know of that has a violet latte which I usually get. There are 2 locations in San Rafael. This one is in the heart of downtown, is bigger, and has a food menu and the other one is better for stopping in to get something on the way to somewhere because it has a parking lot. This one is more suited for the sitting in a café experience. Be sure to let the counter know you are staying in to get a mug instead of a paper cup because they can get forgetful at asking.

Sunrise Strawberry Matcha (Oat Milk)

My coworker recommended Pink Owl Coffee because she knows I love a cute spot that serves good drinks! On a work-from-home day, I chose to come here with my companion to work and it was the idyllic spot. There's no shortage of the color pink or owls here! Spunky, colorful, and cute decor plaster the cafe. The ambiance is laid-back with outlets, WiFi, and indoor and outdoor dining available. People of all ages come here and it seems like a well loved spot. Service by the barista was okay, not friendly but not unfriendly. Our drinks came out fairly quickly which was nice. Aside from typical cafe drinks including coffee and tea, they also have seasonal specialties. I had the Sunrise Strawberry Matcha with Oat Milk. It was decadent, had a hint of sweetness, and both the strawberry and matcha flavors were prevalent. My companion had the Lavender Flower Power Matcha Latte with Oat Milk. I enjoyed his which was slightly floral. New to the area, I'm not familiar with the cafe scenes in San Rafael, but I'm a fan of Pink Owl for their drinks and spacious setup. It's the perfect place to meet with friends or get some work done. Located off Fourth Street, parking is metered and in the neighborhood.

Coffee and the warm blueberry raisin muffin is great. The atmosphere lives up to "pink" and the service is outstanding.

Merch, Schwag, Gear and snacks. Order to the right.

Super cute coffee shop perfect for getting some work done. Friendly staff and low key vibes. Must recommend their absurdly large and caffeinated cookies!

I go here fairly frequently and the coffee and vibes are great. I usually get a hit mocha and it's definitely the best in the area.

Love this place -- hands down my favorite…read more Parking was surprisingly easy. There's street parking, but we parked across the street in the lot by the music shop (it's closed on weekends, which makes it even easier). Zero stress before carbs -- we love to see it. It has that super local, neighborhood energy where everyone clearly knows exactly what they're ordering before they even walk in. Always a good sign. The bread basket? Unreal. The soup was divine -- comforting, flavorful, and exactly what you want on a cozy day. And the bread somehow manages to feel indulgent and wholesome at the same time. Warm, hearty, and clearly made with care. The space itself is just as inviting -- warm, relaxed, and effortlessly charming. And the pastries... they looked dangerous in the best way. I didn't even get one this time, which honestly just means I'm definitely coming back for round two. Already planning my next visit.

My "Soft Scramble" was a pile of astonishment. It was so unrefined that it was an insult the the ingredients. There was nothing soft about the eggs, they were overcooked. The only thing soft on the plate was the watery run-off from the vegetables they heaped into the eggs: Too many chewy mushrooms and HUGE. Too many cherry tomatoes. I had to dig to find the eggs. The leeks were strips of inedible ribbon. The toast? I think it had been toasted yesterday and left on the top of their oven overnight and then reused today. I had to get up from the table and ask for butter to make it edible and still I worried whether I was going to break a crown. The pickled vegetables? Again, HUGE, hard and barely pickled. I will refrain from criticizing the service because they are all unaware of the nightmare in which they are working. Bless their hearts. I was so sad and annoyed. People think they can buy a restaurant with recipes and wholesale accounts and staff and just run it, "business as usual" but they are wrong. I went in and asked if they had sold the restaurant and was told, "yes." I imagine some tech-bro's wife or some hedgefund community doodler wanted a pet project with zero idea about food or food quality or how to treat and retain employees because what happened to MHBB is astonishing. It's rude and insulting to anyone who opened this restaurant and put in their best to keep the name and claim to be catering to the same people. But then again, this is par for the course or, from my vantage point, everything wrong with what's happened in Marin in a nutshell. Faux authenticity. Zero care. This is now all about the money. I will never bother with it again.

I initially tried to place an online order through their website but they weren't taking online orders at the time so I ended up walking in to order. Located in between several industrial companies, it can be easy to miss if you're not looking. Plenty of street parking along the front or just across the street. The shop is segemented into 3 connected sections; the main room where orders are taken, crafted, and served along with bags of coffee beans. The connected room had shirts, sweatshirts, and a fridge with grab n go items. The back room, had a few vintage pinball machines along with some tables and chairs. That'd be such a fun place to hang out at! Ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk and ice maple latte, also with almond milk. Both were wonderfully crafted and provided the morning jolt needed.

This review is for the cafe…read more Clearly breakfast at Comforts is not a secret. We went twice this past weekend and we were not the only ones waiting at the door at 8am. The SO is totally in love with the roast turkey and stuffing hash. Given the opportunity, I think he'd eat it every day. (He did have it both days this past weekend.) I was a bit disappointed in the buttermilk-cornmeal griddle cake that came with my Farmers Breakfast. The taste was fine but it was tough. Chewy is just not an adjective I ever want to apply to a pancake. However, they more than redeemed themselves with the BAT Scramble. I'll need to try a few more items on the menu, but that could easily be my "go to" breakfast. Portions were generous. I took my scone home since the scramble and potatoes were more than enough. The SO had great things to say about their chai. The space is bright and airy, and tables are not so close together as to feel like you're part of your neighbor's conversations. If there is any problem with this restaurant it is with the service. As far as we could tell, there was only one server working the entire space - both indoors and out. Although she was very personable and was doing a more than admirable job considering, it was just too much for one person. (Management, take note! She's great, but could do with some assistance.)
