We came here for a work birthday celebration and it was such a treat!! Beautiful location with great views! You really can't beat that! So pretty. Service was good and so was the food. It's not for the faint of heart because it is a steak house on the Waterfront. So know that. We got quite a few items and I'm not even sure all of them since i didn't do the ordering. We ordered and shared everything. As for appetizers, the shrimps were good but my favorite was the crab cakes. Delicious. Small for the price and you get 2 only. The steaks were great and we actually did a 2nd round since with 8 people, it wasn't enough. As for the sides, I really enjoyed the mushrooms and mac & cheese. The Julia Childs potatoes I thought was just ok. For dessert we got like 2 of each of the first 3 or so, can't even remember. My favorites were the tiramisu and just the soft serve. The bread pudding I thought was just ok and would skip. The panna cotta was ok as well. We had an amazing meal. SYOY!

Giving this place five stars just because of how good of a deal the happy hour is! Everything we ordered was so delicious. We got the crabcakes Wagyu cheeseburger bucket of fried chicken and everything exceeded my expectations, especially for the price! The bucket of fried chicken is literally a bucket for only $10, and the Wagyu cheeseburger was also so good and flavorful. Not to mention the drinks the martini was chefs kiss and was only nine dollars. Would definitely come back in a heartbeat for the happy hour check it out.!

Vibes are so cute! You get a great view of the bay bridge sitting outside, especially at night when it lights up. They have heaters and blankets so you don't get cold. Great place for date night. The service was pretty good. The waiter was attentive and food came out at a reasonable time. We did have to remind them a couple times about bringing out the sauces for the steak. I really enjoyed "The best damn fillet". Got it medium rare. The chimichurri sauce paired so well with it. The oysters were pretty good but got some rocks in it. For drinks, I got a vodka martini and make it pink cocktail. The cocktail was pretty sweet so I would skip if you don't like sweet drinks.

Went here for our anniversary, and they treated us so well! The menu even had "Happy 5th Anniversary" on it! The service, view, and ambiance were all really nice and enjoyful. I didn't dislike my food, but it wasn't really the most memorable part of the experience unfortunately. My steak was slightly overcooked and for a place called EPIC Steak... should know how to cook one. I probably won't be coming back, but it was still nice to experience.

this restaurant has the nicest people working there and the best views ever. i came here with my husband for our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond. they gave us a card with all of their signatures, a complimentary dessert, and even printed "happy anniversary" on our menu which was such a nice touch. the food was just okay overall. i will say the steak was cooked perfectly and the mac and cheese was amazing, but my husband and i felt like everything else was lacking a bit in flavor. we were especially disappointed with the prime rib. the meat itself was cooked perfectly, but the au jus was so overwhelming that it took over the whole dish. the desserts were nice and sweet though :) there are a lot of things that make this such a great restaurant -- the service, the atmosphere, and the views. i just wish the food lived up to the rest of the experience.

We had a 4:45 reservation and I'll admit I was slightly panicked when GPS showed we were only 2 miles away but somehow 41 minutes out. I knew the restaurant had a 15-minute grace period and we were cutting it close, so I called. The person who answered was incredibly kind and reassuring and told us not to worry. That immediately set the tone. Once we arrived (after finally finding parking), every single staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was knowledgeable, personable, and made us feel completely at home. He explained the menu clearly and gave us just the right amount of space to enjoy the experience without ever feeling rushed. We ordered the New York strip, ribeye, crab cakes, mushrooms, wedge salad, potato purée, Old Fashioneds, and I tried two wines -- plus of course the bread and butter. Everything was phenomenal. The crab cakes were absolutely delicious -- flavorful, well-balanced, and not overly heavy. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly -- even the fat was delicious (no shame ). The potato purée was so smooth it almost tasted chowder-like. The mushrooms were rich and flavorful. The salad was fresh and balanced. And dessert? Perfectly sweet -- not overpowering, not bland, just right. When we finished dinner, they boxed up our leftover steak for us and then placed the to-go bag on a small stand next to our table while we enjoyed dessert. Such a thoughtful touch. All in all, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Great service, amazing food, and thoughtful details throughout. Honestly, I'm not sure why the rating here is lower than expected -- we were absolutely blown away and would definitely come back

Here is a late review. My friends came here in January 2026. We had girls night, the day after New Year's Day. It was raining on this day. The ambiance was beautiful, cozy and warm. We all ordered cocktails which were delicious and strong. We've ordered steaks, shrimp, mashed potatoes and carrots. Everything was very tasty. To end the night, we had espresso martinis. You can't go wrong with an espresso martini. Overall the experience was amazing! Our waiter was very attentive and service was fantastic.

No parking lot just street parking up the street which we didn't mind we liked the walk. We were seated right away in the patio looking area . They had a fireplace which made the area warm and cozy. What was a turn off was that my fiancée and I came with my step son and you can tell the switch up in service that we got compared to a couple that was seated next to us. We were offered sprite , and only still water , while the couple next to us were offered bubbly water and were given the specials on the drink menu. The same waiter really took their time with the couple and was giving them the run down on the menu while with us he was just ready to take our order. We asked what he recommend and was just short with his answers. Whatever . The food was really good . No complaints on flavor or the cook on the steaks what so ever . However the last time we came the sides portion (Mac and cheese, potatoes) were wayyyyyyyy bigger, now it was barely enough to feed 3 of us. It wasn't a vibing vibe which was definitely a let down. Probably won't come back

As the best-man of the upcoming groom, I was tasked with organizing a low-key bachelor party in San Francisco. After catching a Golden State Warriors game, I knew the crew would be hungry. About 30 days before the event, EPIC Steak opens up their reservation books. I was able to book a nice table for five at 9:00PM on a Saturday evening all through the app Open Table. The game finished a bit earlier than expected so we found ourselves at the restaurant early. No worries, the host checked us in and seated us immediately. That was nice. The restaurant is very elegant- everything from the décor, table configuration, music and overall vibe. Upon entering, you can feel that you're at a nice place. Our table was ready for us in a cozy and comfy rounded booth. A very nice touch was the menu's had a congratulatory message for the bachelor as well a card for the bachelor. That is amazing attention to detail and a great way to make this event even more special. The bachelor really appreciated those touches. The best part of the evening was two-fold; our service and the food. Let's start with the service: I would put our server in the Top3 servers I have ever encountered. I eat out quite a bit and he impressed me to no end. He was friendly, fun, efficient, straight forward and overall on top of the game. He understood what we wanted & needed, made excellent recommendations and just kept the flow going. And he was able to do all of this while helping other patrons. We felt the service time, accuracy and attention was perfect. Drinks & appetizers came out in a timely fashion. Our waters were never empty. The small talk was perfect without being over bearing or intrusive. We were given warm departure messages by our server and the host at the front desk. Excellent. The food was just as impressive. We had the oysters, bread & butter and beef tartar which was plenty for a group of five. We all ordered a variety of steaks and each steak was cooked to perfection. For sides, we went with the Yukon potatoes, brussels sprouts and carrots. I will say 3 sides is the perfect amount for a group of five. If you're extra hungry, one more side would work. The dessert menu looked good with a variety of ice creams and cakes, but we all opted for espressos and cappuccinos. A small plate with four bite-sized pieces of cake were provided complimentary with a 'Congratulations' chocolate piece at the center- how cool. Overall, a 5/5 Star experience. I highly recommend EPIC Steak for a special event. Pricing is on the higher side, but it is San Francisco and the food & service make it all worth it. Thank you for the great evening! I look forward to coming back.

Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or treat yourself. The service, hospitality, views, atmosphere and food are 5/5. Special birthday treatment: I booked a reservation for a Tuesday night to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. We arrived about 30 minutes early and we were able to be seated right away! The hosts were so friendly and humorous. They offered us a view of the bay bridge, gave my husband a bday card with signatures from the employees, and a menu that wished him happy birthday! They also offered him a free dessert! Jim was our waiter and he was great! Cocktails: Husband ordered the grandma's cigar & I ordered the make it pink. Both were delicious - not too sweet, not too strong. Food: We started off with the garlic shrimp as an appetizer. It was delicious, but probably would not get again just due to the price. Husband enjoyed the filet mignon - it was tender and juicy. The salmon that I ordered was fresh and flavorful! We loved the truffle mac & cheese, and the potatoes. Overall, the food was great & enjoyable. If you're looking for a nice steakhouse with quality food & great service, I'd recommend here

Wow! They blew me away with the amazing hospitality and service. They made our dual birthday celebration special & I so appreciated it. Not only a card from the whole staff but a dessert too, very memorable. Thank you Jim and Epic!!! This is an upscale steak house with that classic gentleman's club style. Not too fancy just the right amount of class. Think heavy furniture thats NOT dated lol. I found the food to be just right. It all tasted so delicious and then some! The absolute star of the show was the french toast( we did brunch). It was so creamy, creative and pretty much everything about it was on point. My only two notes for the food are that the syrup for the french toast should be 100% real Vermont maple & the potatoes or sauce on crab cake benny was a tad salty but totally still edible. Beautiful view of the Bay bridge and embarcadero. Be prepared to spend but I well worth the price to me for the experience you get. Try for yourself, I totally recommend!!!

Came here for a work related dinner and it was awesome! Convenient and lovely location with a full view of the bay bridge from the dining room. Our server, Paul was exceptional, very knowledgeable and patient with the chopped uncs in attendance. Paul also provided good recommendations. Burrata was tasty, though the golden raisins took over making the dish slightly too sweet. Got good reviews about the crab cakes from my table mates (I'm allergic and couldn't try) Got the steak, side, app, and dessert combo and I was thoroughly satisfied! My ribeye was cooked as requested and had a lot of flavor, the server let me know they use walnut, almond wood and mesquite coals on the grill if I remember correctly. For a place like this you expect th steak to be good, so if the sides aren't then you really know. And I must say the sides were slay! Carrots and mushrooms and cauliflower were exceptionally well flavored and cooked, tender in all the right spots. Not often you get good variety of veggie sides. Potatoes were potatoes so good ya know. I had the honeysuckle Negroni and that was well balanced and smooth. For dessert I got the passion fruit mousse. At first I wasn't into it it seemed too dense with the cake bottom, but with every bite I enjoyed it more

I took my partner to a surprise birthday dinner on a Monday and I am pleased to say Epic was the perfect place to go! We got a seat with a fantastic view of the lit up bridge. Definitely order the epic martini vodka - it comes with incredible blue cheese stuffed olives. They have prime rib on Sunday and Monday so I got that. It was a really thick cut and delicious! Comes with creamed spinach and a popover to soak up the jus. My partner got the filet and he liked it as well. Also got oysters and truffle Mac. Oysters were okay but on the smaller side. Mac was SO good and a must order. Also got the red velvet dessert which was a great way to end the meal. We had a wonderful waiter Michael who gave my partner a birthday card and made us feel special the whole night!

Ask the Community - EPIC Steak

Is there valet parking?

No they no longer have valet service. But street parking is pretty easy

Do you have to make a reservation?

Highly recommended, you can always check in the bar!

July 2022, is valet parking back?

it wasn't when i went a few weeks ago.

Bar/counter seating for solo diner?

Is outdoor seating available for the unvaccinated?

They do have out door seating. May be available upon request if you are making a reservation. I am not sure how strict they are about asking for proof of vac. The last time I was there a few months ago, they did not ask me for mine. Good luck!

Do they have prime rib on their dinner menu?

Do we need to be vaccinated to eat here?

I would have to assume YES, since it's located in San Francisco and the vaccination requirement for SF establishments started on 8/20/2021.

Are dogs still allowed if you have patio seating?

I sat outdoors with my small dog/ESA tonight, but there was also another dog at the table next to ours who didn't appear to be a service dog or ESA.

Is there a minimum for Dining? I've read their neighbor restaurant is minimum $75 each 🤨

There is no minimum though the local city ordinance requires all guests to have a meal and not just alcohol when seated. Please make a reservation as we run out of tables everyday.

What is their corkage fee?

$25 per bottle.

Are there many/any vegetarian options?

They have a few if you still do seafood but i would go somewhere else. We went there, being meat eaters, and were forced to order 12 oz and 14 oz steaks starting at over 50 bucks because thats the beginning size unless you want a 6oz filet mignon… Read more

Is parking available in restaurant?

I've seen Valet Parking, but I don't know the hours. Street parking is spotty.

What time is their happy hour? The website doesn't say.

2:30pm - 6pm I believe. Search Yelp photos for the menu!

Can you bring a bottle of wine?! If so what is the corkage fee ?! Thank you!

$25

Is the Impossible Burger available at dinner or only at lunch?

They change their menu daily, at least for dinner. And it wasn't on the dinner menu the day we went.

Do you guys have valetparking?

Yes we do! $20 per car. Valet is located curbside between Epic and Waterbar

We were scheduled to have a small outdoor wedding ceremony at Mission Dolores Park, but when the San Francisco weather forecast turned "rough" just days before our April 1st date, we were in a total panic.
