I've been wanting to try Equal Parts for a while now and finally found a time to go with a girlfriends for a girl's night out. The vibe and ambiance is great, the minute you walk in, it has a fun Tulum atmosphere with natural wood and gorgeous lighting. For food we got the little gem salad, cured trout, green cioppino, and fried chicken to share. It was definitely more than enough for 2 people to share but everything was really yummy. My favorite had to be the cured trout with crème fraîche, trout roe, and watercress which was a great app. The trout had a nice smokiness to it and it paired well with the simple gem salad. For entrees, the green cioppino was good with a sour tomatillo broth that was a bit more saucy that soupy. I think I still prefer a traditional cioppino as I missed the nice light seafoody flavor that I love. The fried chicken was the surprise of the night as it was really nicely fried with a nice crunchy exterior and really juicy inside. The red pepper salmorejo sauce was fantastic and with the chicken, the best bite of the meal. Definitely worth trying out and make sure you make a reservation in advance! read more

Equal Parts SF is one of those places you want to love. It's stylish, lively, and clearly aiming to be one of the city's new "it" spots. The cocktails are fun and creative, the staff is genuinely lovely, and the food is surprisingly great across the board -- the burger is juicy and well‑seasoned, the pork chilaquiles come drenched in just the right amount of excessive sauce, and the fries arrive with three dipping sauces (the white BBQ is the standout). But the elephant in the room -- or rather, the smell -- is impossible to ignore. There was a persistent bathroom/sewage odor throughout the space that completely undercut what should've been a really enjoyable brunch. It's hard to settle in and appreciate good food when the air smells like a toilet. If they can fix the odor issue, this place has real potential. I was looking up what's new in SF when I came across a reel on IG, and it instantly gave me Tulum vibes. And yes, Cherlynn it's about the vibes Your review confirmed this was the spot. Reservation for 6, please. The atmosphere was vibrant, tropical, and full of boho-chic energy. We were seated on the patio, which felt like a cozy greenhouse with heaters that kept it warm enough to enjoy outdoor dining with just a light jacket. Our server was on point, and of course, we ordered the way we always do. We started with two bone marrows for the table, maitake mushrooms, little gem salad with shrimp, French fries, beef carpaccio, braised pork shank, and roasted octopus. This place was an overall great experience. The Tulum-inspired décor really sets the tone. It stylish, relaxed, and just the right amount of upscale without feeling pretentious. The food was very tasty and well-balanced. We had their restaurant week offerings and were more than satisfied with taste and portions. Disclaimer: I got to come here for a work event, so the food was comped. The service was friendly. The vibes were so cute! The food was good (not mind blowing but good)! I can't speak to whether or not the food was worth the price since I didn't have to pay, but I think if you hosted a work event here, the dinner price per person seems pretty competitive for SF for how many dishes you get and the menu options they have. We got fries with 3 dipping sauces, the mushroom tempura, little gems salad, trout with roe, beef carpaccio, branzino, and dark chocolate mousse for dessert. Fries were pretty standard, but I liked the 3 dipping sauces bc options. The mushroom tempura was the standout appetizer for my table! The salad was good, but they go heavy on the dressing which I actually like but I know some people prefer lighter salads. The trout with roe was my second favorite dish. Love trout, love roe! Beef carpaccio was really good but less memorable than the trout for me. The branzino was cooked well and had a good flavor. Great shareable entree! The dark chocolate mousse was odd to me. The flavor was fine with the little olive oil and salt. It's served with bread which I skipped. The texture was not mousse imo because it was too firm to be like mousse. It was like soft chocolate (but not soft like mousse). It's hard to describe, but the plating was pretty. Would pick a different dessert for an event here. This place is such a treat and has hidden gem energy for sure! You enter through a long shadowy outdoor walkway with the sounds of a rainforest, which sets the ambiance immediately. The interior is in a historic SF location (og ye olde spaghetti factory okaaay) and it shows in the artistry and agelessness of the exposed beams. The interior design of the restaurant has a lot to love, lots of soft curves and unexpected shapes inform the sumptuous experience dining here over all. I also loved how even tho they have tvs inside and outside, they weren't showing sports on all of them, instead MTV classic music videos, very immaculate vibes. For the service, our host Aidan, and server Tommie/y were exceptional. Good pacing of the service and warm treatment throughout made this a delightful dining experience from beginning to end. Got a couple drinks and tried several things on the brunch menu to share. Highlights were definitely the scone, the sweet farinata, and the chilequiles. Farinata was all the mediterranean and arab flavors you love to see coming on a dish, with the lattice of the chickpea flour crepe, tasty and visually engaging. Oysters were silky and buttery and fresh like you'd want. Chilequiles were very flavorful and egg was cooked perfectly. Scone was well balanced in elements (it changes flavors I believe) and the honey butter had a good funk to it. Potatoes were fluffy, and the chicken was well seasoned. I had the banancarajillo which was a good brunch cocktail, on the sweet side, and my partner had a beer. Equal Parts has instantly become one of my favorite spots in SF. The Mexico City (with Tulum's elegance) inspired vibe is absolutely stunning - the patio is bright and lively, and the bar inside is gorgeous (so is the whole set up inside). We even spotted two cats wandering around, which made the whole experience feel that much more charming and unique! The cocktail menu is creative. The Carpe Diem was an absolute standout and I should have ordered that on repeat. The Peachy Blinders was good but a bit more forgettable compared to Carpe Diem. The Miso Spicy is essentially a spicy margarita, which is tasty, though they were a bit heavy-handed with the ice. Food-wise, we did great! We started out with the Maitake Mushrooms Tempura and got a whole plate of perfectly fried mushroooms and a delicious and not overwhelming dip. The Green Coppino was a great bowl of seafood with two pieces of garlic tomato toast (yes very Spanish). The Whole Roasted Branzino was crispy outside, incredibly tender inside, and every bite offered a different texture; I ate the entire fish, head and all, and didn't regret a single bite. And honestly that was a good amount, we left with enough and rounded the night with a slice of pizza. Overall the menu is a fun but eclectic mix - Mexican-inspired seafood and landfood (haha), and fried chicken and fries - seemed a bit Spanish and Asian inspired too - and while we loved the variety, we did miss having a simple side of greens (and some carbs which could be tortillas or rice or beans) to round things out. Making the trek to North Beach from S. Van Ness to check out this new and hot restaurant was quite the adventure. My friend and I took the Muni Metro and then a bus. After dinner, we decided to walk from North Beach through Chinatown back to Market St. I love how much time I've been able to spend in the city and am truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place. I had really high hopes for Equal Parts as online reviews and articles are all really positive. Overall, I loved the ambiance, the Tulum-feel as one walks into the restaurant, and the vibe. Sadly, the food was disappointing. Maitake mushroom tempura had a hard, crispy batter. Some pieces were lukewarm others were hot. Roasted beets and carrots salad - I enjoyed this dish the best. The flavors of the beets, carrots, yogurt and pistachios blended well. Kona kanpachi - friend liked, but the dish was super fishy to me. Fries - probably my favorite dish here, they were hot and crispy. Fried chicken - one of the most popular dishes according to our server - sadly a miss for me too. The chicken arrived looking like KFC original recipe and lacked flavor but was surprisingly moist. My friend and I really enjoyed the cocktails. I had the carpe diem and peachy blinders. She had the Ai papaya and pull my daisy. Price was reasonable, total for five dishes and four cocktails came out to $205, including tax and tip. This is a return for drinks and ambiance only. My first time here was to celebrate a friend's birthday this past late February. Our group had a reservation and we were seated in the back right side of the patio. Appreciated how they had hanging heat lamps nearby, as SF is typically chilly year round. This group likes to do family style so we almost literally ordered one item of each off the menu. The standouts for me were the Carpe Diem cocktail, the French Fries, Branzino, and Panna Cotta. Service was unfortunately a bit of a miss. Located in the heart of North Beach, the restaurant is perfectly situated, and the decor brings all those warm, tropical, Tulum-inspired vibes to life. Everything perfectly crispy, light. Do wish they were more seasoned and flavorful but they did come with different sauces. The red pepper salmorejo with fries and chicken was a nice twist to usual options. The chicken came with 2 juicy thighs. Most dishes were along the lines of "solid, cooked well, but not surprisingly not very punchy or flavorful" - including the ROASTED DELICATA & KABOCHA, BRAISED PORK SHANK, ROASTED OCTOPUS - which made them forgettable. DARK CHOCOLATE MOUSSE - I've never had such a thick mousse before, like chocolate butter, perfect for spread on the toast.. interesting with olive oil and salt, 1 piece is enough per person so perfect to share. Skip: KONA KANPACHI was unforgettable only because it tasted so fishy - I've had kanpachi countless times as sashimi/nigiri and never had it like this. Also just not very flavorful otherwise, so all you taste is fishiness. Unfortunate intro to kanpachi for one of the diners. I added some breadcrumbs from the beef carpaccio to help it out but still .. so fishy. Tried nearly all the cocktails on the menu to appropriately make recommendations: ON THE ROAD was a crowd fave, interesting, complex, well-rounded and a good sipper. MISO SPICY - I'm partial to spicy mezcal and this was a banger, not sure I got the miso though. CARPE DIEM - spicy yet refreshing with a fun cucumber foam that gave some more texture TA TA TINI & WHAT DA FIG were clean, sophisticated versions of dirty martini. We enjoyed WHAT DA FIG more for the smooth texture from the fig leaf oil. Skip: PULL MY DAISY & AI PAPAYA were on sweeter side for me. Love the vibes of the walkway when you're coming into the restaurant. They really try to set a scene with the smells, sounds, and decorations as soon as you're walking to the entrance. Our server was also one of the nicest waitresses we've had and she gave off big sister vibes as she gave great recommendations and went out of her way to take care of us. What Da Fig ($16): Such a lightly sweet cocktail. I hadn't had a drink in awhile and was pleasantly surprised by how well it complemented everything. The entrance welcomed us with a long tunnel of thatched-roof top covered either in set gay and straw. Background music was house. As we walked through, I felt like I was being welcomed to the jungle. The interior continued with the jungle tropical vibes with high wooden roof top abs dimly lit ceiling lights. The vibe is homey with loud chatter. Heading past the main dining room area is the terrace. If you want to get away from all the noise and take a breather. Terrace is a great place. It's quiet with an insulated tent wrapped with leaves to give it that jungle feel. As for food, my favorite was the beef carpaccio and cured Mt. Lassen trout. Adding breadcrumbs to the carpaccio gives it that extra dimension in your bite. The bite isn't just solely focused on fat. The smoked trout roe, with soft egg and watercress, has a perfect combo of savory, silkiness, and peppery taste. Props to the chef for making the right soft egg. Lured in by Insta vibes and left with genuine happy vibes! Out of town friend came to visit, so I made a reservation to come in for a light dinner and drinks. Friend was surprised by this new and happening bar and especially pleased to learn we were in party central for the night. Super happening as it was also pre-Super Bowl weekend! We had the: *AI Papaya Cocktail - Smooth, delicious initially but had a slightly too sweet after taste. *Grey Goose Dirty Martini - Good *Miso Spicy Mocktail (sub with seedlip) - So delicious! Visited here's the Thursday before Valentine's Day, for an early celebration. Made a reservation for 6:45pm and it was a good thing I did! It was packed on a Thursday night, and the bar seating was filled too. Got there early, but the table was ready, so we got a spit at the bar for some drinks. I had the miso spicy and coco & Martin drinks. My partner got the Carpe diem. The Carpe diem was great, my partner had two before we sat at our table. I like the miso spicy over the coco & Martin, but both were good! Miso spicy is definitely spicy, but coco & Martin is great cool down to reset. I had to check in with the host as 6:45pm came and went. When checking in, the host asked if I wanted to sit in the patio, which was a yes, but then said it was full....soooo, the table that we got sat in had been available since we sat down at the bar. Now, it was 10-15 past our reservation and we were 15-20 minutes early. For food, we got the tempura mushrooms and dam those were so good. I would have ordered multiple orders of it and had it as dinner. I'd go back just for the mushrooms. We also got the cioppino and wagyu steak. The cioppino was a little bit of a let down, the clams and mussels had fishy taste, plus had a little grit. The sauce it came with could have been more flavorful. The Wagyu steak was pretty good, great taste and paired well with the salt and radish. However, it was fairly small for the price. I was super excited to try this new restaurant but the food just didn't do it for me. I walked in around 6pm on a Sunday with a friend and there were plenty of bar seats (available for walk-in). The interior/vibes are trendy and would be a cute place to grab drinks with friends and to catch up, maybe get a couple of apps. However, every dish we ordered it felt like something was missing. Nothing terrible by any means but just lacking that "something" where you take a bite and you think about how good it is. We ordered the Roasted Beets & Carrots (4/5- plenty of restaurants serve a similar dish), French Fries (2/5- not super fresh/hot and the sauces were all basic. The red pepper salmorejo was supposed to be their house made hot sauce but it was so bad. Consistency was watery and had some citrus flavor aspect to it but that was all I could taste), Kona Kanpachi (3/5- fish was fresh), and lastly the Whole Roasted Branzino (2/5- the brown butter was good the first 2 bites then became too heavy for the rest of the fish. I had been hearing about Equal Parts and was excited to try it with my roommates. We booked a couple of weeks in advance and could only get an 8:15 PM reservation on a Wednesday, so it is definitely a popular spot. The ambiance immediately stood out. It is upscale and loungey, but still warm and inviting, perfect for a midweek dinner that feels a little special. The decor is stylish without being over the top, and there was a great energy in the room. Our waitress was warm and attentive throughout the night, which really elevated the experience. For drinks, I ordered the Miso Spicy, a margarita with a noticeable kick. It leans spicy but in a balanced way. My roommate got the Ta Ta Tini, which was sweeter and absolutely delicious. Both cocktails felt well crafted. We shared the maitake mushroom tempura, fries, green cioppino, and beef carpaccio. The carpaccio was a 5 out of 5 and the standout of the night. The fries were solid, and the mushrooms were rich and flavorful. I would recommend asking for extra sauce. I wish I did! The green cioppino was tasty, but the portion felt a bit small for the price. From the moment you walk through their entrance, it feels like I was transported to a beach restaurant/club in Tulum. From a design and aesthetic perspective 10/10. Great spot for a date night or birthday dinner for sure. At first, we were hoping to snag a last minute table without reservations but had no luck as it was a packed house on Friday. Learning here, definitely make reservation in advance if you plan to dine in. When we asked the host if there was anything, he didn't sugar coat anything, which we appreciated. He was able to grab us a seat at the bar so we ordered some drinks and fries. The drinks were amazing. We ordered miso spicy, which is made with jalapeño and habanero infused mezcal. Perfectly spicy and refreshing. My favorite drink was carpe diem, which was made with made with jalapeño and habanero infused tequila and something unique, a cucumber foam. The foam provided such a unique mouthfeel and added texture to a great tasting drink. For spicy fans, either one of these would be worth a try. The cherry on top was how nice and kind the staff was. From the host, to all the bartenders they took time to chat with us, even though they were packed. The hospitality and drinks make us excited to sit down for dinner next time around. read more

We started out thinking the venue was great. Rafael, the waiter, was nice, until he wasn't. We booked for a 60th birthday. We are all long time San Franciscans. We have see it all, experienced the best and the worst. They had okay food, okay service. Fun environment. They made it very clear that we had a time limit on the table. If we wanted another round of drinks, we had 20 mins to drink them. Too full of themselves. So many other restaurants that value their patrons with much better food. Skip this one. read more

My bf surprised me with a night out at Equal Parts for my bday. Entering the restaurant is such a vibe, it's like you're being transported to an island paradise. I know they just opened recently so service is a little all over the place. DRINKS Ai Papaya: This was really interesting, you typically don't see pisco inspired drinks. Light and refreshing, and that's coming from someone who does not like papaya like that. Coco and Marco: A creamy matcha cocktail, what's not to love. Flavors were great and the pistachio paired well with the matcha. Only note is that texture is an ever so slightly gritty. FOOD Wagyu: I know that wagyu is supposed to be cooked rare but would have preferred it medium rare tbh. Meat quality was good, wished there was a crust to it but cooking to medium rare that was expected. The dish clearly is missing some items. No veg or starch, just meat, salt and wasabi. Kona Kanpachi: This was really good, really enjoyed how fresh the fish tasted. Basil puree and chilis paired really well with the fish. Beef Carpaccio: Overly decadent imo. This desperately needed some arugula or veg. Roasted Octopus: Very tender and loved the balance of the dish. Well seasoned and the octopus wasn't overcooked. Typically not a fan of octopus but the spicy sauce worked with it. Bone Marrow: Probably one of my favorite dishes of the night. Really decadent bone marrow but slightly tangy onion jam made each bite really tasty. Panna Cotta: Class creamy panna cotta. Liked he balance between the rich creamy panna cotta with the sweet tart passion fruit puree. Great palette cleanser at the end of the meal. Overall, a vibey spot and definitely see it becoming a date spot. I would come back to try some items I missed this trip. read more

We made a reservation for dinner on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday and they made it extra special! They were booked so def make a reservation early. We ordered: - maitake mushrooms tempura: the batter was light and crispy so didn't feel oily. The dipping sauce made the dish so much more flavorful. - little gem salad: the veggies were fresh and crunchy with the perfect amount of dressing. The extra crunch from the sunflower seeds and pepitas were a great addition. - French fries: the fries were soo crispy and served with 3 dif types of dipping sauces. Can't go wrong with fries when you're ordering drinks! - green cioppino: comes with a variety of fresh seafood, which were well seasoned and so much flavor. The tomato toast was still crunchy even when it had so much tomato sauce. - beef carpaccio: the beef slices were thin with sauce lightly on top. The breadcrumbs gave the dish a great balance of crunchy texture. - fried chicken: comes with 2 pieces bone-in so it was a bit hard to share if you come with more people but they provide a knife so everyone can try some. The batter was thin and very crunchy while the inside was moist. - braised pork shank: wow such a great dish! The meat came right off the bone and the kale was cooked soft enough to absorb all the flavor of the sauce. For drinks, we liked carpe diem the most while pulling my daisy and peachy blinders were also great options. Overall, we had a great experience from the staff, the atmosphere and the food! The dishes are tapas-style so come with more ppl so you can share and try more dishes. I have been hearing rave reviews of Equal Parts and was pleased to be able to check out Equal Parts on a Friday evening. My friend and I were able to walk in and get a table for drinks in the lounge area. The restaurant is cute and has a very tropical vibe. We visited Equal Parts and had a really nice experience sitting at the bar with excellent, friendly service throughout. We did the Restaurant Week $60 menu and overall enjoyed the experience, with a few dishes that were great and a few that just varied by our taste. The cured Mt Lassen trout was our favorite and really stood out. The little gem salad was fresh but a bit heavy on dressing, the maitake mushroom tempura had a tender mushroom inside but a tougher batter, and the green cioppino and fried chicken both leaned a bit salty for us, though everyone has different palates. The passion fruit panna cotta was delicious, just on the smaller side. For cocktails, the Carpe Diem was a bit too spicy for me and the Coco and Marco was more earthy than expected, but the bartender kindly made me a gimlet which I really enjoyed. Overall, we really loved the space, decor, and warm service and would happily come back. read more

I came here a couple of weekends ago to celebrate a friend's birthday dinner. We were seated on the patio at a table on the right side, just underneath an overhead space heater. The first thing I noticed as we were being shown to our table was that the lighter color upholstery and the lighter colored walls, along with the overhead lighting, created a nice contrast and produced a cool, relaxed vibe throughout the whole bar and restaurant. Equal Parts is considered New American fare. Our group decided to order almost the entire menu and go at it family style. The standouts for me were just the French Fries, the Branzino, and Fried Chicken. Unfortunately, not a single person offered to change out our tiny dinner plates throughout the entire meal. Something pretty basic in any restaurant. Our waitress had also mis-charged us for several rounds of whiskey drinks when the bill came. Overall, the food is right around 3.5 stars, the service closer to 2.5 stars, so my 3 star rating is appropriate after my 1st visit here. I doubt I will make it back here again in the future. read more

Came to this new restaurant recently for brunch and really liked it. The staff were super nice and took the time to introduce the restaurant, walk us through the menu, and recommend drinks. The atmosphere is stunning too, great vibe overall. We started with oysters, which were really fresh. We also ordered the burger the staff recommended, and it was so tasty, juicy, flavorful, and definitely a standout. The cocktails were a highlight, especially an off menu one they made for us. Super smooth, light, and creamy with that airy foam on top! Also loved that it is dog friendly. They were really welcoming to dogs and it felt comfortable bringing one along. New cocktail bar/restaurant in North Beach that gives Mexico City and Tulum vibes. When you enter in it already feels like you're in another country or area and not in SF. Parking can be difficult out there so I'd recommend ride share or parking at a parking garage somewhere else and walking. Reservations can be made on open table or you can come in to sit at the bar. Seems like a place I would want to go eventually for my night cap with the drinks and the ambiance and even the music they have in the background. As for the food and drinks. Everyone said their Pull My Daisy (Gin), On the Road (Bourbon), and Coco & Marco (pistachio tequila and matcha) which was my fav are all pretty popular! They tasted soo good some on the sweeter side but all crafted very well. As for food, I had some friends come with larger groups and everyone recommends the branzino and lamb ribs. I just came with one other friend and we didn't think we would be able to eat that much. So we actually started with the Green Cioppino which we REALLY liked. It was the perfect tanginess and the amount of seafood and the toast that went with it, I usually don't go for Cioppino but I highly recommend this one! We then got the tempura mushrooms and fries to nibble on while drinking. For dessert we got their vanilla panna cotta that had mango and passion fruit puree. Had reservation at 9:30PM and the kitchen closes at 9:45PM so it was kinda a rush. It is a restaurant and a bar. They seated us at a table that is closes to the bar so there were a lot of people walking back and forth at the bar area. The food was amazing and we were really full at the end. We ordered 2 cocktails and the server was nice enough to replace a drink because we didn't like the taste of it. Would definitely come back but probably at an earlier time. read more

Equal Parts... what a special spot. My boyfriend and I arrived and were greeted by not only the most lovely host, but also the owners. Upon arrival, we also really wanted to watch the Warriors game - which the owners happily put on the TV per our request. (I LOVE that they have TVs!! So fun for date nights & Bay Area sports!) We sat at the bar and enjoyed the best service from Brian, Chris and Casey. Not to mention - the bestttt cocktails! We had the Miso Spicy and On The Road. Beer selection is also 10/10. The Green Cioppino... Star of the whole dang show. The broth was creamy and bursting with flavor. That sourdough bread + tomato that comes with the soup... yeah, still dreaming about it. Tuna carpaccio and fried mushrooms were also both 100/10. San Francisco needed something like this to say the least-- From the ambiance that makes you feel like you've transported to a boujee Mexico City restaurant, to the spaciousness of the place with a grand bar, sexy lounge area with beautiful seating and lush plants filling space. Went for a birthday brunch and loved the little touches. The personalized menu and card were such a nice detail. Food and drinks were really good, elevated but doesn't lose the original taste. Trying the burger next time. The aesthetic is pretty. We sat outside on the patio and it was perfect. Service was solid. WARNING they will try to overcharge you!!!! Don't listen to the influencers they are paying to promote this restaurant. I was really hoping for a better experience but sadly it did not meet our expectations. We got 2 drinks. Mid. The drink selection was weak honestly. The food did not seem appetizing from what we saw on other tables so we just did fries & a salad & added shrimp. The salad was VERY VERY overdressed it was insane. Not only this but we decided to pay $14 to add shrimp thinking we'd get a decent amount. It was probably 4 full pieces of shrimp cut in half. Extremely cheap for a restaurant to charge so much just to do this. The fries were good but nothing outstanding. Worse of all, their prices on their menu don't match what they charge you. We caught it after we paid & it's not a huge difference but it's the point. The fries are $9 on the menu but we were charged $9.50.. not a big difference but it's the matter of the point & ethics. We brought it up to the team to let them know & they didn't seem to care at all which shows their true colors... Don't plan on returning & I would not recommend to anyone else.
