Have been wanting to come back here for a while. I hadn't been to this new location since they moved. It was very busy when we came in. There is limited seating but you can eat here. The cashier we had was nice and helpful. We ordered fried Oreos that were delicious. My husband ordered soft serve in a cup with caramel and chocolate toppings but was given a plain soft serve. The soft serve was grainy with ice pieces for the price not good. I ordered the pecan funnel cake which comes with caramel and pecans. I added caramelized apples. When I received it these was no caramel. When I asked the person at the counter about the caramel she asked me if it was supposed to come with it. I pointed to the menu and read her the ingredients on the pecan funnel cake she then reluctantly took it back and added minimal caramel. Also the funnel cake was a little overcooked so extra crispy. This place has probably the highest concentration of fast food calories in the entire Bay Area. It is everything you want it to be. I've been here many times over the years. Here's what I thought tasted great: Any of the funnel cakes are excellent. They make them fresh when you order. Better than any other funnel cake I've tried. And I especially like the caramelized bananas they offer as a topping. Speaking of toppings, their whipped cream is way, way above average. Tastes like they make it fresh. It's better than ice cream for the funnel cakes. But also great on anything. The deep fried twinkies are better than they have any reason to be. The inside sort of congeals into a deep fried sugar flavor. Mmmm. My wife is a connoisseur of caramel apples and she says theirs are the best in the entire Bay Area. She recommends making sure they don't cut them if you're taking them to go, since they dry out a little. Cut them yourself at home. They also have above average milkshakes. I tried an oreo shake and liked it. But the other desserts are better, if you have to choose. Mixed feelings about the churros. They're really thick and doughy. And yet, I couldn't put them down. Man working at register was very professional, informative and friendly. You can tell he cares about his job and his customers and wants to make sure everyone gets what they want. People order big here. Very common for customers to get big bags of food with multiple items. Store located on Shattuck avenue and I found parking nearby. On to the juicy details. I got the churro in a cup of soft serve with strawberries. The churro was fried up fresh. It was great. I'm going to have to go ahead and give them five stars and I look forward to my next visit. Sometimes the most spontaneous visits to certain places can be the best. And this is exactly what I experienced when visiting "Endless Summer Sweets". They name all in itself sounds like either a candy shop or bakery. But it is actually neither. They are more focused on fair/carnival type food where you could get deep-fried Oreos, deep-fried Twinkies, funnel cakes, caramel apples, and ice cream as well as hand-dipped corn dogs and grilled hot dogs. Located directly on Shattuck Ave. and tucked in between Durant Ave/Channing Way in the heart of Berkeley, Endless Summer Sweets (which is open year round) has been serving the East Bay community ever since 2009. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I came here on a whim since I didn't want a full-on meal and more of a snack to fill me up. I arrived at around 7:30pm on the evening of 10/16/21 and as expected, there was a long line of people waiting to get their comfort food. Which is a good sign since I knew I would be in for something good. I ended up ordering their "Chicken Apple Grilled Hot Dog" (for $5.00) complete with a small soda and a "Mini Funnel Cake" complete with powdered sugar & strawberries (for $6.00). Total time it took was a rather quick 10 minutes even though there were nonstop customers in here. My hot dog arrives first and I was very impressed with the toasted hot dog bun and large portions they offered. I completed dressing this up with mustard, mayo, ketchup, & relish. As far as the funnel cake, this was very delicious and 5-star worthy. It was so good I didn't even take a photo of it (which is a cardinal sin for me since I ALWAYS try to snap a picture) prior to eating it. It definitely had that state fair taste to it and is something I could literally enjoy eating year-round. The interior of this place is fun, lively, and actually offers ample seating for families and couples. All in all, "Endless Summer Sweets" is an excellent above-average place that I highly recommend. The selection of sugary sweets in addition to cotton candy and popcorn is a place kids will love. And the hot dog/corn dog selection is sure to please people of all ages. When you factor in the ambiance, experience, customer service, prices, and quality of food, I would have to rate Endless Summer Sweets an above average four stars. read more

Let me just rattle off the main points. Waited a long time, $1.50 for like 5 oreos, worker started blaming us for the wait. I didnt even care that they had folks yelling in there. The employee kept calling out the wrong number then came up to us asking if we had the number we actually had and said she had been calling it. Pants on fire. I was really surprised who delicious the food and desserts were here! I'm not a major fan of carnival/festival foods, but I would actually want to come back here and get their funnel cake despite it being a bit far from home. We tried their apple cinnamon funnel cake, corndog with hot links and garlic fries, hot dog with hot links, and their popcorn/churros/caramel apple. It's located in downtown Berkeley but we were able to find parking around the corner on a Sunday 1pm. There were some seating inside, 2 big benches, and the decor is very colorful and bright. It feels like you're stepping into a store at a carnival. The apple cinnamon funnel cake as HEAVENLY. I still remember the first bite being soooo crispy, sweet (not too sweet), and that homemade whipped cream. I'm craving that homemade whipped cream! I typically don't eat funnel cakes but I would love to come back and try their other flavors. Everything taste homemade and it wasn't overly sweet. The corn dog with hot links were also good! Love the batter that they use. The garlic fries were delicious! Tastes better than how most restaurants make their fries. The hot dog was good, it had bell pepper and onion toppings. This place offers a fun food experience but I don't think I will come back too soon. Covid wise I did not feel safe at all. There is some indoor seating but mask requirements are not enforced for people coming in and out and gets pretty wild with the amount of people that crowd the inside when it gets busy. Some people even semi secretly smoked from vape pens while waiting in line which was pretty disgusting because they would blow in the direction of the tables where people were sitting. Even walking out of the restaurant I walked into a cloud of vape pen smoke that is allowed to go on basically in the doorway. Also, while the staff taking orders and prepping food were really nice, friendly and moved as fast as possible, the bus boy who seemed like he was there to clean tables didn't do much of that. His mask was partially off and so were his pants - I was concerned by the full exposure we had to his underwear (not boxers). Not really something one wants in their face when eating (which is what was happening). The food was fun - variations of corn dogs, hot dogs and fries. I had the grilled all beef hot dog which was topped with cheese and bell peppers, nestled in a Hawaiian sweet hot dog bun. It was sweet but also savory. Others in my group liked their corn dogs and the vegetarian Apple Sage dog which they said tasted just like meat. The cheese fries, hot Cheeto fries and garlic fries were all good too. My family seemed to like the garlic fries the best out of the three. The kids loved their Fried Oreos and Funnel Cakes - one was piled high with cotton candy - they attacked too fast for me to take a photo! The restaurant was definitely not stingy with powdered sugar, strawberry topping or the ice cream you can add on to the funnel cakes. I appreciate that they sell mini funnel cakes too, I've never been able to eat a whole sized one. The covid safety/crowds, the vaping and the bus boy brought this place down a bit but the rest of the staff and the fun food helped balance things out some. Perhaps the solution is to take the food to go... had I done that, the experience likely would have been different (we didn't do this because we were worried the food and desserts would get soggy). read more

A small and aesthetic shop, this food is great in store and taken to go. The Churro Parfait was fresh, with the churros being thick and perfect width. The cream inside tasted thick and made in-house, while the caramel added a nice sweetness to the dish. The strawberries in both the churro parfait and the chocolate covered strawberries were very fresh and juicy. There was a generous serving in the churro parfait, but the chocolate covered ones were also large and worth the price. Both dishes were fresh and delicious while not being too overwhelmingly sweet. The caramel didn't taste as caramel-y as I expected it to be straight up caramel but seemed more like a caramel flavored cream? It thickened up after some time and was still delicious.
