I love Cinnaholic, easily one of my favorite places to get a vegan cinnamon roll from. It hits every time! Their new location on Hearst Ave is cute it's located inside a small food court.

Super friendly owner, and helped me decide on what I wanted. Food itself was smackin. Tucked away in a cute corner, with nice indoor seating.

Not that there was anything wrong with that as they make solid Indian food there (review: https://bit.ly/3ipWnWB). But does that make them experts at lasagna? Not really as I ordered the $16.95 Mushroom Lover Mac Vegan presuming it would be lasagna. and what arrived was nothing Italiano but more a baked macaroni (photo: https://bit.ly/3GVjbqy). Not that there was anything wrong with that except when your mouth is ready for lasagna, you don't really want to digest mac n' cheese. I could've bought something cheaper at Safeway, but at least it was filling. What did help, however, was the $5.96 Vegan Fudge Brownie which did bring me unequivocal joy and a buttload of calories (photo: https://bit.ly/3ix0IXS). Speaking of which, I should just get off my butt and bake my own lasagna. We were a party of three and definitely over ordered- the Sicilian style Ray J, Truly thin and crispy, and arancini, but zero regrets. The Truly thin and crispy really reminded me of the Ciccino at Truly Pizza in Dana Point, which is my favorite pizza spot in the world! As the name suggests, it's very thin and crispy and I loved the texture. Great as an appetizer pizza lol. Thick square focaccia style pizza is definitely my preference, which is why the Ray J Sicilian was my favorite here. The toppings are generous, love the large chunks of cheese and the hot honey on this one. The arancini we got was also amazing, it had a slight lemony tang to it and some veggies inside which balanced out all the fried cheesiness in it. Would super recommend Pizzeria da Laura, and come in a large party if you can! I think my only downside is the bathroom situation as you have to take a key to take the elevator downstairs and it was hard to get a hold of the key, but maybe try to come at a less busy time. That reminds me, for sure make a reservation for weekends! Super easy to do on their website. Service by everyone was very kind and they were helpful explaining the difference between all their pizzas.

The location is excellent. It's within walking distance of UC Berkeley, just a minute from Downtown Berkeley BART, and there's a public parking garage a block away. Another nice touch is the market next door. They sell pizza by the slice, snacks, and drinks. I would've been there 100% during my college days. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The atmosphere was warm, clean, and inviting. You can watch the pizzas being made, and there's also a TV if you want to catch a game while you eat. It had a relaxed neighborhood feel that made us want to stay a little longer. Having delivered for Round Table back in the '90s, I have an appreciation for the flow of a pizza operation. Everything felt organized and efficient. We started with the Chicories & Beets salad. It was fresh, crisp, and a perfect way to start the meal. We ordered the 18" NY Ray J and Detroit The Standard. Detroit The Standard was my favorite. The crispy, caramelized cheese edges were incredible, while the inside stayed light and airy. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked, not soggy at all. Every topping tasted fresh, and the balance of pepperoni, sausage, onions, olives, and sauce was spot on. The NY Ray J was just as impressive. The crust had the perfect balance of crispiness and chew, making it easy to fold. The combination of thin and thick pepperoni, creamy burrata, fresh basil, fermented honey, and Parmigiano Reggiano was outstanding. Every slice came with a great cheese pull. Both pizzas had crispy crusts, fresh toppings, quality ingredients, and just the right amount of sauce. We left feeling satisfied, not heavy or bloated. We visited on a Wednesday, and by dinner time the restaurant was full. That's always a good sign. One of the highlights of the visit was chatting with Chef Laura about dough, ingredients, and technique. It gave me an even greater appreciation for the attention to detail that goes into every pizza, and I picked up a few ideas that will definitely improve my homemade pizza game. I'm actually eating the leftovers as I write this review. They reheat beautifully. The crust stays crispy, the toppings still taste fresh, and they're just as satisfying the next day. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Whether you're a Berkeley local or just passing through, Pizzeria da Laura is absolutely worth the trip.

We found it very tasty, but paying over $25 for this on DoorDash--certainly not worth the price even though we really enjoyed it. The spicy chicken parm sandwiches were not good. The chicken breast was flabby, and came across like it was one of those frozen cooked Tyson jobs. I would be very surprised if they actually breaded chicken breast, fried it, and made the sandwich with that. It was mushy, and the breading was like paste on the chicken. Pretty awful. They charge extra for sauce, which is a little much, given that we paid $21 for each sandwich. But we figured out pretty quickly why they do this: there was hardly any sauce on the sandwiches. And precious little cheese. We each ate half of our sandwich and figured we doctor the leftovers up the next day with a jar of Rao's and a bag of shredded Italian cheese. That helped, but nothing could save that chicken. The meatballs. We paid $15 for four, and we had high hopes, but they were so mushy that they fell apart in the sauce, and I couldn't tell what was sauce and what was meatballs. The only flavor that came across was fennel. Why any meatball should be so fennel-forward strikes me as bizarre. We got what we thought were pretty basic things, and they were fails. If an Italian place can't make a decent chicken parm sandwich nor a decent meatball, that says something. If you go, try the pinsa.

For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. The food also came out pretty quickly. The presentation of the pizza was top notch and I could not wait to dig in. The portion size was adequate. The vegan cheese was yummy and the spice level of the pizza was just right. The pizza was packed with flavor and thin crust! My friend liked the shakshouka too.
