    Banana Pudding
    Nicole J.

Had a sweet tooth, so where else do you go... Been hearing about them, and they did not let down, and I ordered on doordash. I ordered their Banana Pudding and it was EVERYTHING and more. I have half left and I'm trying to save it for my sweet tooth later tonight. Man it's was so creamy the pudding and freshly made you can tell and it wasn't made weeks ago, lol like some desert is at some places. The cookies still were crunchy, omg the best. Make sure you check them out, definitely my go to now for Banana Pudding. * so glad I found my place

Friendly and easy pickup.. This is a residential (apartments / condo / townhouse) pickup, just for a heads up if you're looking for a storefront. I didn't see any signs with the business name, just knew the address. Luckily the resident is located on the Main Street so it isn't hard to find; however parking may be an issue during general after work hours. I purchased via TGTG so I could try items at a discounted price before potentially making a large order. I received the sweet potato pound cake and red velvet pound cake. - sweet potato pound cake was not moist, had a dry crumble, overcooked outside and very sparse sweet potato swirl. - red velvet pound cake tasted like a box mix bundt cake made with oil opposed to a true chocolate pound cake made with butter.

Too Good to Go surpriase bag - 7 up pound cake and peach cobbler pound cake

As someone who is not typically much of a fan of standard cakes that have that spongey bread sort of texture, that also made me a little hesitant and skeptical about getting pound cake, which is a specialty of Aunt Pooeys. However, after seeing them for quite a while on Too Good to Go, I decided to take a chance and order the surprise bag, knowing it was likely that pound cakes would likely be part of it. I walked up to the residential address that Aunt Pooeys is based out of and it was friendly and quick to pick up my surprise bag - it was likely Aunt Pooey herself that I got the food from. I got a 7 up pound cake and peach cobbler pound cake in the bag; they are shaped like small bundt cakes. I liked both but was a little more partial to the 7 up cake; the peach cobbler is sweet as one might expect with the flavor of preserved or canned peaches, whereas the 7 up cake had icing on it and was sweet with a slight sour hint from the lemon-lime soda. I was also happy that both were fresh (given it was a Too Good to Go bag, it is not unusual for some bakeries to be giving you leftovers that have often been out all day) and stayed relatively intact during my transit home from Berkeley. I thought it was a good deal for the amount of food on Too Good to Go. As the name of the business suggests, the cakes I tried were quite sweet, and I am sure the other goods they sell would also be good for a sweet tooth.

Date: 6/15/2024 Time: 2:15 PM 70° Sunny Aunty Pooeys Sweet Tooth was one of the food vendors at the Juneteenth Celebration at Alameda Southshore Center. I was walking by when a young lady stopped me, recommended purchasing a sweet potato pound cake, which she claimed was bomb-diggity delicious. Cost was $10. It was a hard decision as there was an assortment of pound cakes - sweet potato, 7-up, peach cobbler, lemon. The drawback I have, and it is no fault of the vendor, is I am type 2 diabetic. I have to watch my sugar intake. I wish they had sugar free pound cakes. Being a nice lady, I went ahead and purchased the sweet potato pound cake to support a black owned bakery business. I know it will take me more than a week to eat that cake. Finally, I believe my three star rating is fair and reasonable.

Banana pudding was amazing! Highly recommended. My order was right up she was fast and friendly.

    Dark Chocolate Cake

I didn't customize a cake-I just dropped by and picked up a small serving of Aunty Pooey's daily-packed cakes: the dark chocolate cake and the lemon pound cake. Dark Chocolate Cake: Moist and dense-the kind of sponge that sticks to the roof of your mouth. The cake itself wasn't very sweet, which balanced well with the sweetness of the chocolate frosting. That said, I wish the sponge had a deeper chocolate flavor. On its own, it was a bit bland for my taste, so the richness and sweetness came mostly from the frosting-which I actually found a bit too sweet (on its own). Lemon Pound Cake: I love a strong lemon flavor in my pastries, so this one fell short for me. Both the breading and glaze lacked zest and brightness. I'd suggest adding more (preferably fresh) lemon juice to both the cake and glaze. For comparison, it wasn't as lemony or sweet as Starbucks' lemon loaf. The service was nice. I'm assuming the person I spoke to was Aunty Pooey herself. She was friendly and flexible. Her baked goods gave off a cozy, home-based bakery vibe nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Thank you~

Sweet potato crunch -- so buttery, delicious, soft, ugh to die for

Do not miss out on Aunty Pooey's Sweet Tooth! If you're any kind of sugar/dessert fanatic, this is a must try. Aunty Pooey's is a home kitchen but the desserts are so delicious and full of flavor, I'm surprised they don't have their own storefront. It's amazing because you can tell the desserts are made with a lot of care and attention. I got to try their Lemon Loaf and Sweet Potato Crunch today, and it's probably the best dessert I've ever had in a looong time. Both were super moist, literally the perfect marriage of sugar, flour, and butter. It took so much self control to stop myself from eating the whole portion of the Sweet Potato Crunch. Each desert is around $9-10 but their portions are super generous as well -- would easily feed 2 people (or just one person, if you're like me). These desserts are rich and each box is heavy. Aunty Pooey does not skimp! Aunty Pooey offers traditional layer cakes, puddings, cobblers, pound cakes, and even vegan options! 15/10 would come again. Ordering is done by walk-in and online over DoorDash and other platforms.

I was craving banana cream pudding and I found Aunty Pooeys on doordash. I decided to google them and they have an option to order directly from them. They do walk up orders from a townhouse in Berkeley. It was a super quick and pleasant experience and they take card! All 3 items and to $30 which was super reasonable for the amount of food. I was super impressed overall. The banana cream pudding was rich, delicious, fresh bananas and the cookies maintained their texture which brought exciting layers to the treat. The sweet potato pie was beautifully crafted, the crust tasted so buttery and flakey and the sweet potato purée was fabulous and balanced. The true next level desert was the sweet potato pound cake. It literally was still warm when we got it. The cake was soooo soft and moist, the sweet potato was utter perfection and their some some sweet syrupy goodness on the bottom of the container. I love Aunty Pooeys and will be thinking about these treats for days and weeks to come!

The absolute BEST Peach Cobbler I have ever tasted in my life. The perfect amount of crust to peach ratio is top tier with just the right amount of juice. Not too sweet, not too salty, but the perfect balance of flavor. The Sweet Potato Pound Cake is at the top of my list. Unlike any other pound cake I've ever tasted. Super unique, unheard of, and very delightful. The pound cake recipe is on point, super moist and the sweet potato filling adds a pop of extra flavor. Then the Chai glaze drizzled on top gives it a lovely spice profile. This one is also not too sweet but when in need of some goody sweetness, this is the perfect dessert for you. Can be eaten in the morning as breakfast with a cup of coffee or tea. (I prefer it with iced coffee ) 1000000/10 would recommend!! All of the other desserts are top tier as well.

They are friendly and welcoming upon entry and allow you to try flavors! When I came in July 2026, they had unique flavors like saffron, lavender, earl grey, and hibiscus among many others! The only issue is there's no clear menu posted online, so we walked in completely blind. Their website shows a long list of flavors but not what they actually have that day, so it felt like a guessing game. The line moved really slow because there was only one employee handling everything. She was taking orders, giving samples, answering questions, and ringing people up all at once. She was super friendly and doing her best, but it felt like a lot for one person during a rush and the shop could definitely use more help. The space is really small and tight so it was hard to even see the flavors until we got close to the front. When we finally got up there, a lot of the tubs were already empty which was confusing since most ice cream shops restock. Some flavors I wanted weren't available anymore, and if they're out it would make more sense to just remove them from display. The dirty containers didn't make sense to display. I sampled the jasmine green tea and knew right away I wanted it. It was creamy with a smooth tea flavor that wasn't overpowering. I got a small with half jasmine green tea and half avocado. The avocado was surprisingly really good, super creamy and tasted like a fresh avocado smoothie. Both flavors weren't overly sweet which I liked. My husband wanted cookies and cream but it was sold out so he got chocolate chip instead, which was solid and creamy with good texture. Overall the ice cream itself was good, not the best I've had but definitely not bad. I like that the flavors lean more natural and not overly sweet. I could see myself coming back if I'm in the area, but the experience would be a lot better with faster service and more consistency with what's actually available.

I finally decided to go inside and think I went a little crazy with ordering.. As you get inside, there are 2 kiosks that you can order on and the ordering process is pretty simple. I got all my food to-go and the wait was about 10 mins or less, so pretty quick! The service was awesome as well! The guy saw me struggling trying to carry all the food, drinks, and my IPad (I got stuff from the gas station prior) and he offered to help and put my drinks in this holder. I ordered the Tiger brown sugar milk tea w/ boba pearls, Hot Cheetos Half N Half corn dog (comes with choice of dipping, I got mustard), 8 piece fried dumplings (comes with soy sauce), fruity pebbles mochi donut, and the strawberry and banana nutella croffle. The milk tea was super good, could never go wrong with a brown sugar milk tea! The hot Cheetos corn dog was crispy and super good as well, however I wish I had eaten it when it was still hot to get that cheese pull... the fried dumplings were crispy and delicious. The fruity pebbles mochi donut was really soft and chewy (in a good way) and had the flavor of a glazed donut. Also the cereal tasted fresh! The strawberry/ banana Nutella croffle was so delicious and tasted like a strawberry/ banana waffle. I think this one had to be my fave. Overall, I paid a little under $40 with tip for all the food and I would definitely go again!

The ambiance is wonderful - I absolutely love the deep blue color scheme, the cute matching mugs, and gorgeous plants. They have a lot of different pastry choices, but unfortunately, there was only one vegan option: a tiny hazelnut sweet bread. I ordered the bread along with an Americano. When I tried to take the pastry out of the package to share it with my girlfriend, it completely crumbled into a big mess. I went up to the counter to let them know, and the employee told me it was actually meant to be eaten straight from the package. She mentioned it was on the drier side being vegan, she took the crumbled mess and gave me a new one but it ended up having the exact same issue. It wasnt dry, but it just wouldn't hold any moisture and was far too crumbly to eat. For $5, this tiny pastry was a major letdown. To make the interaction weirder, she took the original crumbled bread back from me and I'm only assuming threw it away, which felt entirely unnecessary. Having been vegan for nine years, I've had some truly amazing, moist vegan baked goods, so this was incredibly disappointing. While the vibe and aesthetic are great, the vegan options were major letdown. CC accepted Restroom available
