This company is not what they used to be. I had used them in the past for carpet installation more than once over the years, so I hired them to install "luxury vinyl plank flooring" in both of the bathrooms in my home.
The salesman came on July 16th 2022 and I selected a plank flooring that I liked. I had originally wanted an appointment on Tues July 19th but I was convinced by the salesman to take an appointment on Thurs. the 21st, at the end of the week and was told it would be easier for them to make an appt. at the end of the week, and it would still be done by the weekend.
My mom would come to be there for the install as I had to work. They had a window from 8am to 6pm. In spite of both of our calls to them at noon, 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 and 5:30, and in spite of being promised a call back, they were a no call no show. I looked at the contract I had signed which had been emailed to me after the sales appt. only to find that if I had gotten my appt on the 19th that I had wanted I could have cancelled the installation without penalty, but because I had taken the appt. on the 21st it was past the 3 days I had to cancel, and I would have been penalized 25% of the total price of the job even though they never even showed up.
When they finally did come the next day my mother who had been there at the sales appt and seen the product I selected questioned the product they brought because it was less than 1/8 of an inch thick and not the plank flooring I had chosen. Come to find out they glued the product to a board making it look thicker. She allowed them to install it because the top looked the same and the installer convinced her that he had it in his house and he said it was beautiful and durable. The product did look very nice but when I came home and saw it I decided I wanted to talk with someone about what I felt was a "bait and switch tactic," before I would allow them to move forward with the other bathroom, so I called and emailed the salesman, the install manager, the customer service manager and the marketing manager several times over the course of the next couple of weeks.
I WAS COMPLETELY IGNORED. I did not receive a phone call from anyone until July 30th, at a time when I specifically mentioned that I would be in meetings all day and unable to speak to them on that day. They had both my phone number and my mothers phone number and my email address on the many communications I had left them.
Eventually we came to an understanding about when they would come and since they had done only a small area of demolition of the previous ceramic tile I originally had in the bathrooms, and had instead laid the flooring over the top of my old flooring, they were going to pay me back the money for the removal of the other tile since that was work they didn't perform.
I was told by my salesman "the most expensive part of the job was the labor and the demolition," because I was only having just over 100 square feet of product installed between both bathrooms.
The installation manager refunded under $60 for what I had been told was "the most expensive part of the job."
Unhappy with this, again I reached out via phone and email to the Customer Service Manager who to this day I have NEVER received communication from. Instead the Marketing Manager finally called me on August 18th, over 1 month after the original sale of the product. The job was finally completed by August 10th (Another "no call no show on the appointment time set for bathroom #2 before the job was done), and the total hours worked by the installers was less than 8 hours between both bathrooms, and that included drying time for a compound they put on top of my tile and grout before they stuck down the flooring that I had been originally been told would be hammered together, similar to hardwood installation.
The job ended up costing me over $2400, 2 days of missed work trying to deal with this company, 2 other days of my mother's time lost, and I cannot tell you the amount of aggravation or the number of hours spent on the phone and the computer just trying to get a response and an ounce of accountability.
SAVE YOURSELF YOUR MONEY AND AGGRAVATION, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.
It has been a nightmare. If I could give 1/2 a star I would have.
