The breakfast did not disappoint!! Service was friendly and fast. This place is no longer under "Empire Diner and is now under new management with, "Royal Diner.

Immediately greated and seated. I placed a order for coffee, scrapple and a short stack of hotcakes. The coffee was hot and decent the food not so much! I cut my hotcakes poured a little syrup open wide got coldcakes not hotcakes. This was explained to the server he returned 1 minute later with my original cut hotcakes with syrup on them fresh out microwave! WHAT???!! Does this review need more detail? Except I remember why I have very rarely eaten here!

This is a cute diner with a huge menu selection. It was a first time visit for myself so the menu was a little overwhelming. There was soo much to choose from. They also have a large selection of bakery items which I didn't get the chance to try this visit. I got the French Dip Sandwich which was good just a little dry. I'd definitely return if I'm ever in the area again in the future.

The waffles taste like soap not good at all. BELGIAN WAFFLE WITH MEAT TWO EGGS

3-19-2025 I was let down the waffles taste like some kind of cleaner they were horrible.

It's supposed to be a Greek salad. Where are the olives and the feta cheese?

It's always a pleasurable experience eating here any time of day. However my last experience was a bite of a letdown as I order food with a Greek salad. Drove 20 mins to get there and get the food. Drove back home. No greek salad. I called them and they apologized and offered me a free Greek salad. It took me a few days to get back there and when I did, the salad that I brought home was NOT a Greek salad. Better luck next time. All in all still a good place to eat.

Baba Ganoush (pureed eggplant, oil & Mideastern spices) made fresh.

Great food, ambience. Mohammed, the co-owner, before moving to the States in 2017, owned a huge restaurant in Alexandria Egypt; and now also owns the Lincoln Diner in Coatesville PA

I love a diner. I'm originally from the northeast but live in SC now and we just don't have the…read moresame kind of diners that I had before - don't get me wrong, I love a Waffle House but it's not the same. This was a really great spot. My coworker and I were over in North Jersey for work but flew in and out of PHL rather than facing Newark. In order to beat the crazy construction traffic outside of Philly and to have a buffer for whatever TSA nightmare we were going to face, we got back near the airport early... like 4 1/2 hours before our flight kind of early. I wanted breakfast outside of the airport so I found this spot while he was refilling the rental car. I got the French toast with homefries. The french toast was perfect, with just a tiny bit of crisp in spot from the griddle. Same with the homefries. I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. Now I just need to plan out my flights so I can come get breakfast here again and try one of the sandwiches, or omelettes, or maybe get French toast again...

After an early morning drop-off at the airport, we ducked into Folcroft Diner for breakfast. More…read moretimes than not I order something non-breakfast-y for my first meal of the day. Today was no exception. Their grilled chicken sandwich was not what I hoped for. On the plus side, it was a generous portion of chicken, most of which I took home. As a negative -- at least for me -- I like a flat filet, with grill marks. This was "chunky," rendering it clumsy to eat. It simply didn't taste grilled at all. And the chicken was dry. T ordered a country omelet that was filled with breakfast meats, cheddar and peppers. Though not my thing, I agreed it was pretty good. His grits were creamy, buttery and delicious. Coffee is strong and served in the old-fashioned heavy mugs that I favor. Our server was friendly. ("Where are you from?" she asked, picking up on my Brooklyn accent.) I asked if Greek lemon soup is ever on the menu. She said that the owners are Turkish, then gave me a rundown of their specialties, all of which sound delish. (Alas, no avgolemono.) I wouldn't hesitate to return to Folcroft. The menu is diverse, the restaurant is clean -- as pointed out by another Yelper AND our waitress. If you order the right thing, you'll no doubt be pleased.

Heard about this place as a hidden gem for breakfast, but this rating is for lunch. The location…read morewasn't too difficult to find thanks to the map, but it is slightly off the beaten path for sure. The guy working in the kitchen was very nice and recommended a cheesesteak for lunch. Amoroso rolls were what he told me they use for bread. They have several tables for dine in and the place was well heated for a cold winter day. It was simple and clean inside. My cheesesteak was average, it was pretty greasy and flavor wise wasn't bad. I'm not a huge fan of amoroso rolls for cheesesteaks, the grease also soaked into the roll quite a bit. The portion size was small, but the for the price I think it was on par. I think I paid just under $6 for the sandwich. I'll have to return for breakfast which seems to have much better reviews!

The GPS will direct you to take the unpaved ominous looking road of 'Calcon Hook' but it's not the only way in Chester Pike to Sharon Avenue is an alternative. Once you locate the restaurant it will remind you of a trailer, in a movie about construction workers. Inside it's spacious with plenty of seating and fairly clean considering the age and lack of updates. On this date I'll give a little leeway to service because the cook was in the hospital and the lady 'owner' was alone. But I'm here to tell you she worked that grill, those phone calls, the counter and tables! I ordered the hungry man special 3 eggs, home fries, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 French Toast and 2 pancakes all for $6.99! It was good and plentiful. Each item was enjoyable. I have to say I had several cups of coffee and it's some of the best around. Next time I'll bring a book to read as I sip my coffee and wait!
