    Great breakfast @Ace's
    Tracy N.

When the waitress called me "Sugar," I knew my meal was going to be good. There's something about old diners that look terrible on the outside and are full of 'family' on the inside. You know, a place where folks frequent so much they turn into family? Everybody knows everything about everyone. We heard convos across the diner and it felt like home. Our meals were served pretty quick, piping hot. We grubbed as we discussed the Eagles in the Super Bowl. That's of course the talk of this town these days. My daughter had two huge pancakes and worshipped every bite. I had eggs, bacon and home fries with onions. Our waitress was super sweet and we were in and out in less than 30 mins and under $20. What more can you ask for?

    Breakfast tomorrow as well!

TL;DR Version: Excellent home baked bread, two meals for the price of one. Full Version: As mentioned, Ace has good food at good prices. There are a few places locally where you can get a cheaper breakfast, and a few places where you can get a bigger breakfast, but I've yet to find one with a cheaper, bigger breakfast on offer. I usually end up leaving with breakfast for the following day. On top of that, they have excellent home-baked bread, which they use for everything you'd expect; toast, French toast, sandwiches, etc. They'll even sell you a loaf if you ask nicely, which I've done more than once.

Overcooked, dry, missing shrimp for shrimp and grits. Called the manager and she basically said "oh well" will not patron this business again.

The after math of a delicious down home breakfast.

Just experienced one of the Best down home breakfasts I've had in a very long time. The service was fast, efficient, friendly and genuine. Tanya was our server and was fabulous. Our order was cooked to perfection. I'm really picky about my scrambled eggs and she got them cooked perfectly. Kudos to the Chef in the kitchen too. I ordered their in house delicious buttered toast, grits, turkey bacon and sausage, cranberry juice, strawberry jelly and now I need a nap...this was my first visit here but won't be my last.

Get the home made bread with an old fashioned diner breakfast. Parking is tricky to back out of but it's always available.

We were seated in the train part of the diner and it didn't disappoint. Lots of greenery and eclectic Philly memorabilia too. Dorie was our waitress. Our table ordered: Chicken & Waffles, Breakfast Burrito and me - I couldn't decide so Dorie helped me create a sampler of sorts with Shrimp & Grits and 1 slice of Banana Foster French Toast. I originally ordered the Espresso Martini but it wasn't what I was expecting based on what I saw on IG. Dorie had no issue with getting me something else and brought me Espress Ya'Self. Now my daughter said the Breakfast burrito was full and tasty and her friend enjoyed the buttermilk fried chicken thighs, vanilla waffle, herb-maple chicken gravy, hot-honey, maple butter. It looked really good. Now imagine banana foster flavor infused over a Texas Toast sized french toast with caramelized bananas and dark rum glaze with pecans. Be prepared for the prices but it's worth it!

It's nasty and angry and ugly and it seems that nobody cares about doing a good job or providing a good service. The exception to my recent experiences in Philadelphia is the Oregon Diner. From the gentleman who seated us, our lovely and friendly waitress, the spotless dining room, delicious meal, and prices that are more than fair, everything in the Oregon diner was wonderful. To help make my point, I have never in my life, eaten a side dish of spinach that was more tasty. Spinach. Who puts that much effort into a side of spinach? The Oregon Diner Chef, that's who. The French Onion Soup and burger were tops too. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It brought me back to the South Philly I remember from my childhood. Thank you for restoring my faith that there is some good still left in Philadelphia. God bless you! Go here next time you are looking for someplace to eat. You will not be disappointed.
