bacon and scrambled eggs in a styrofoam container

This place is nothing special and seriously over priced. I ordered food from here today on Postmates. It took almost an hour and half (this was the restaurant's fault, not Postmates) just for some eggs! The food was fine, nothing special, but also not worth almost $11 for an omelet and homefries. Most shocking was the side of bacon for $4. This is what I got... I'd stick to your corner store breakfast. Fresh Donuts on Lancaster ave is way better and cheaper.

Now that I am spending more time at the USCIS building on 41st Street, and the immigration interviews and other proceedings start as early at 8:00 am, I need a place to cool my jets over coffee or breakfast while I wait to be heard. I learned long ago that it is better to arrive early and wait for court or other meetings, than to deal with heavier traffic later in the morning, and risk arriving late. Today, I asked one of the guards in the security area where to go for coffee until the public was allowed into the building at 7:30. He was thoughtful and thorough, giving me a list of places within a few blocks. When he mentioned the restaurant on Market Street that had a full breakfast menu, he showed more enthusiasm then for the others mentioned, so I took my clients there for morning repast. Turned out that Hamilton Restaurant is an old school luncheonette, with long counter with spinners on one side, and tables on the other. Kitchen in back. The offerings were plentiful, with both breakfast and lunch available during open hours. We opted for a couple of omelets (w/ home fries), turkey sage sausage, egg & cheese on Kaiser roll, and a grilled blueberry muffin. Ten minutes later we were served by a very friendly and considerate woman, who seemed to anticipate our needs. That was unexpected and exceptional. Our food was very good. The omelets were stuffed to the gills with the cheesesteak and sausage fillings two of them wanted, while my sandwich was not overly large, but very tasty with the turkey sage sausage a surprise star of the show. Very happy with that recommendation. The muffin had a strong resemblance to Costco muffins, but there were no complaints. Coffee was strong and the request that one be half milk, well received and delivered. This location is beyond the spreading influence of UPenn and Drexel. That means that it is still an original joint that has not been gentrified yet. The cozy neighborhood atmosphere was palpable, and the prices reflective of that. Very happy to find a place where I can eat and be comfortable while waiting to go to work.

4. Corned Beef Hash Platter

Please do not order from them. We are visiting from New York, and this food is the worst quality I might have had in a long time. Corned beef hash was burnt, and my salmon cakes was the worst. My husband is a certified Chef and could not believe food could taste this damn bad. Hamilton y'all should be ashamed of yourselves.

French toast, Turkey sage, and cheese eggs. It's so good!!

I love getting breakfast from here. They recently re-opened after doing renovations. It looks great in here. I definitely suggest the French toast and Turkey sage.

So cheap and so many options

I am a huge morning person. Unfortunately, I don't get to eat breakfast like that. 1) I am working early mornings 2) Nobody wakes up as early as I am and I hate eating alone. With that, I treat every breakfast meal as a special occasion. My niece has been telling me about this place and I was elated to have finally tried it. Walking into the joint, you can feel the massive energy if people from all walks of life kick starting their day. You smell coffee, French toasts, bacon and all the other good stuff. Our waitress was so energetic, I feel like I should start dancing with her in the dining room. We ordered an array of food. I had sage sausage with bacon and scrapple, spicy Italian sausage with poached eggs and cream chipped beef. There was a small hit cup in our order. I actually wanted egg Benedict with Hollandaise sauce but I think they didn't have it so I got poached eggs instead. Regardless it was an amazing breakfast. The sausages were fresh and had huge flavors. The cream chipped beef was soaked in gravy and were light, not heavy. The scrapple and country fries were nicely browned and seasoned right. There isn't much to complain here. This is a solid breakfast joint. Highly recommended.

We stopped in Philadelphia this morning on our way to New York, to grab a bite and check out a few stores. We drove by the Hamilton restaurant, and decided to give it a try. The food was good , however service was extremely slow, but our server was very nice. The menu doesn't really explain any items, so it can be a bit confusing to order. As I said, the food was good, but the portions are too small.

Went to go eat there and the place was a disaster with boxes and to go items everywhere. No place to sit and a complete mess.

Loved my first Dungeon Crawl at Silk City in July '26. Got there a little early and stopped into…read morethe beer garden to check out the menu and see how late the kitchen was open. I planned on grabbing something to go after the show. As I was perusing the menu I saw several dishes pass by and decided I couldn't wait any longer. In particular I noted the wings and chicken fingers, both of which looked amazing. I got a table next to the bar in their lovely beer garden. Has some TVs, a very friendly staff, and the food looked great. I was blown away by their chicken fingers. Obviously hand breaded, and served with Comeback sauce and your choice of ranch or blue cheese. I ate a few and saved the biggest one for a late night snack. Ended up eating it a couple days later and it was still delicious! I'll have to try the wings next time. Service was great, from hostess to servers, everyone had smiles. Food came out promptly and my drink was refilled without asking. Definitely a good start to the night. The Dungeon Crawl itself was the highlight of the evening! This is in the lounge/bar area of Silk City. It's an intimate setup with the stage in a corner with a dance floor and the bar area and a few tables at the other end. A DJ warms things up while the main act comes on at 8:00. It was Dogs in a Pile for my first visit and I was blown away by the sound and energy. 2 sets of amazing improv and jamming, with a dedicated crowd of music lovers. I can't wait to get to my next one!

We did have to wait a fair bit for our food order to be taken, and again for all four of our meals to come out. We all got breakfast items. I got the eggs Benedict which were very good. One of my friends got the breakfast sandwich called "Trenton makes - the World Takes" and I love the nod to some NJ history. Good food, nice ambiance. This was my first time here but I would definitely come back again.

The Silver Diner excels at all but the key difference here is quality. Quality ingredients matter here and it shows. Terrific toast and a garden salad that doesn't taste like it was hanging around the locker room since it was made made two days ago. Five very easy stars.

Both meals were fresh, flavorful, generously portioned, and beautifully prepared. We would absolutely order them again. Our server, Benjamin, deserves special recognition. He was friendly, attentive, checked on us at just the right times, and never made us feel rushed. His service was outstanding and added to an otherwise wonderful dining experience. The only disappointment was the beverage pricing. I'll admit that we typically don't study the menu prices before ordering--that was probably our mistake. After eating in restaurants for more than 70 years, however, I can honestly say these beverage prices are among the most outrageous I've encountered. We were charged $3.99 for a single cup of black coffee and $5.99 for one glass of lemonade--nearly $10 for two beverages. The coffee was simply one ordinary cup of black coffee, and the lemonade was so incredibly sweet that it was almost undrinkable. Neither beverage came close to justifying its price. It's unfortunate because everything else was excellent. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and Benjamin's exceptional service make Silver Diner a place we would gladly visit again. However, management should seriously reconsider charging nearly $10 for one standard cup of coffee and one mediocre glass of lemonade. Prices like that leave customers feeling taken advantage of and detract from what is otherwise a terrific dining experience. We'll definitely be back--but next time we'll probably skip the beverages unless the pricing becomes more reasonable.

Inside, the food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. We chose side salads instead of fries and they were a great size to start the meal. I had the open‑face Turkey Reuben and the portion was definitely shareable and very good. My husband had the fish and chips and the cod was fried perfectly, 4 nice fillets, crisp outside and tender inside. He swapped the fries for a baked potato and it tasted like it came straight from the oven, hot and fluffy. They offered a long list of specials for 16.99 that included beverage, soup, salad, an entrée and dessert. The cakes and pies looked fabulous and many were ordering dessert. We were too full this time, but next visit we'll save room. Our waitress, Lala, was wonderfu, attentive, friendly and always checking in at the right moments. The manager greeted us warmly when we arrived and again when we left, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out.
