Hubs got hungry whilst we were running errands in Northridge. He always enjoys a breakfast, so I called Emle's ahead to make sure they served breakfast at lunch. The friendly voice responded to my question with an answer of 'At lunch, at dinner, even at breakfast! It's always breakfast!' Well they certainly have Hubs' number! Large lot had plenty of parking when we arrived at 2pm and it was quiet; noice. We were greeted warmly right away and told to sit anywhere. I wanted something light and filled with protein. I opted for the Chicken Pesto Sandwich; hold the bread. It was ok, served on a generous bed of fresh spinach, but lacking the sun-dried tomato and no pesto garlic sauce, which it describes being tossed in. The Jack cheese looked like Kroger single slices. The side fries were thin and crispy, cooked just right. Hubs ordered the breakfast Three Egg Meat Combo: opted for burger patty, French fries in lieu of roasted red potatoes or fruit and toast over banana bread. He was very happy with his meal and said he would like to go back. While I thought the food was fine, the hospitality, attentiveness and Hubs happiness, will keep us coming back. Cheers! This is not my first time at Emle's, and my experience has been relatively consistent across all my visits. Food: 3.5/5 The star of the show is the banana bread. It's moist with a crispy outer edge and the right amount of salt to taste but not be salty. Most of the items on the menu have pretty large portion sizes, and there is a vast selection of items. Nothing shouts out at us to give the food an upstanding 5/5, but this is still a solid pick for an American diner. Note that if you order anything with strawberries (including the fruit cup), you will get exactly 1 strawberry cut into 4 pieces to ration during your meal. Service: 2.5/5 There is one person manning the floor the majority of the time, and he does a good job managing multiple tables. We came in at 9 am on a workday and there were already 25 people in the restaurant, all managed by this one waiter. There is another person who pops in every now and then to deliver food and refill coffee. That said, don't expect to be checked in on often or to quickly get your order in. Also, special requests may or may not be satisfied-- I requested that the whipped cream in my waffle order came on the side, only for it to come right in the middle of my waffle. Atmosphere: 4/5 It's a lively place! This is a popular and long lasting restaurant for a reason. The music is not loud, and there is a comfortable amount of space between each table. This was my second time at this restaurant. First time was great which we enjoyed the food. I can say their breakfast is quite nice. It's a pretty big menu so there's loads to choose from. Breakfast lunch and dinner. During our first visit, I noticed that there were a good amount of people ordering the entrees during breakfast which looked great. Fast forward to today, I had to try some. We stopped by for a late lunch which there was a good amount of people. Of course when you get there, just going through the menu was pretty exhausting...lol... I was going back and forth for breakfast or entrees. The whole point was to try something else. Opted for an order of the hummus which was served with pita and an order of the fried mushrooms. Honestly the mushrooms was a slight disappointment when it came out. It was ok but nothing much to it. Hummus was quite nice though. And the order of the seafood pasta. Served in a red sauce with calms, mussels, shrimp, and fish tossed in linguine. Flavor was ok, seafood was good though. For the price 24.99 it was ok. Also, you could add a glass of mimosas to any entrees for 1.00 which was an excellent deal. The food was good. Breakfast on the other during our first visit was great. This lunch was ok. But I did see some other entrees that were brought out that looked quite tasty. Maybe I'll have to get that a try next time. Service was great. On a Monday, just about brunch time, the radio station plays the 70s, 80s station providing for a relaxed environment. Great service, and tasty food. Server was attentive. Really slow service and awful food. Very poor and not fresh quality food. The restaurant is dirty and their water cups are greasy. The steak was really burnt, gray, bad tasting, felt frozen and not fresh... very small and thin in size. The potatoes were almost burnt, very dark brown in color and caramelized, but inside was so hard and raw. I asked them to remake the steak and it took a very long time to come out. When it finally was done, it came back even worse than the first one. They were slow but nice, so I didn't ask for a refund. They can just keep my money. Last time I'll be here. We were the only ones dining at the time too. Honestly, I don't know how they have good reviews. I'm puzzled. It was not good, I will not return. I do not recommend you try this place. read more

From vegan perspective: Vegan options, 4 main dishes and other appetizers, salads, Mediterranean breakfast and wrap are clearly market vegan. Great for mixed groups large and small. I had meatless primavera. The first chef forgot the linguine. Manager offered to replace it with proper dish after I figured something was amiss. First time having square "meatballs", but the dish was tasty and filling the second time with the linguine. In their defense they gratis that meal. The non vegans had great choices too. read more

Love this place! Have been dining here for years, the service is always great and staff very friendly. They have a great menu with many savory and sweet options to choose from. They happened to be open Christmas morning so I ordered "The Frenchie" to go-- a cornflake crusted French toast topped with berries. It was delicious! I am being kind giving it 3 Stars. Was just there for Father's Day. It was ok. It's ordered the Dutch Apple Pancakes thinking it would be like a Dutch Apple Pie. It was just Pancakes with some cooked apples, and not a lot, along with Powdered Sugar and Whipped Cream. There was Syrup. It definitely wasn't Real Maple Syrup which I can understand as that is expensive but in no way did it taste like Maple Syrup even it were to be imitation. It was more like Syrup with brown food coloring. I also ordered Scrambled Eggs cooked EASY/SOFT. Is there a reason why Cooks don't know how to cooks Scrambled Eggs easy/soft? I enjoyed the coziness and home feeling to this restaurant. They had a great selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. It seemed to be Italian based/inspired (or I believe the owners are Italian?) which means the actual food options seem very tasty. It was a little difficult to choose but ended up splitting pasta and a burrito with my friend I love Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli and although this was pretty tasty, it definitely had a unique after taste to it. I couldn't pin point exactly what it was but it didn't take like a typical spinach and ricotta ravioli dish that's I've had at other places. It wouldn't be a dish I would run back to, but, I am happy that I tried it and ultimately I still finished the entire plate! I liked the burrito as well! I LOVE cheese so next time I believe I would just ask for extra cheese! As far as parking, it's in a lot with other business' so there are an average amount of spots and I can see it be a struggle to find a space if it is peak hours on a weekend. Me and my mom always like to try new breakfast places especially for smaller businesses as they are always the hidden gems. However, we went here for the morning and were waiting for us to be helped, no one came to help us or acknowledge us so we sat down in the outside area and went inside to order. 15 minutes later a waiter finally came to help us and he was very friendly and nice but I would say the food didn't really give us that "worth the wait" vibe. Everything tasted artificial and store bought down to their drinks! All their latte's tasted like something store bought and was handed very lukewarm, I gave them the benefit of the doubt but even the food tasted cold and unseasoned. Hosted my mom's 80th birthday at Emle's for ~50 adults and 8 children. Everything went without a hitch! Great food! Samer let us use the entire interior of the restaurant with ample space for a small dance floor, our dj and a Photo Booth. No hidden fees. Overall a very good value for this event. We arrived at 11 AM on Saturday & and didn't have to wait for a table. Service was quick, and multiple servers/managers checked up on us regularly. The TVS had the Olympics on & light music played in the background, which was great. Mimosas were mixed well, not all OJ, which was lovely. Corned beef hash was fabulous in the benedict, and the addition of the house salsas really added to the flavor levels. Benedict Hemingway had large pieces of crab meat & salmon and a creamy flavor. My first time here . Saw a roach crawling up the white wall right in front of me while eating my french toast..alerted the waitress. She did nothing..walked around for 5 minutes, at least, not concerned AT ALL! I was appalled. Then roach came down the wall and she saw it and she killed it with her hands and then she didn't even wash her hands. We had to eat our meals after this ? I am so grossed out. Where is management ? Our favorite to go brunch place. Staff are very welcoming. Food servers are very attentive. When we come for our brunch, coffee comes to the table very quick with 2 creamers and a glass of cold water, we don't need to ask; that is how attentive the staff is. Food is served in big portion and delicious, never got tired of coming regularly for years now. It's cute, it's tasty, and mimosas are $1! Okay, you can get one mimosa for $1 with the purchase of an entree. But that's basically the same thing. I'm really into Benedicts and that's what we got. Portobello mushroom Benedict and smoked salmon Benedict. The Hollandaise was perfect. Eggs nice and runny. So good. We were out with friends and stayed for so long that we decided to get something sweet to wrap up our brunch. Got the stuffed frenchie, which was SO delicious. The strawberry ricotta cream cheese... damn!! Would get this again, 10/10. Such a nice ending to our time there. Loved the outdoor seating, even if people on the street can be a bit sketchy. So this is a tough one for me. I have not been here in a while. Back then this restaurant was one of our favorites. We even had large family celebrations here. The staff were nice enough. The food was not as great as in the past. My number one complaint is the condition of the restaurant and restroom. The restaurant floors were dirty and the items on the table also needed to be wiped off. The restroom was horrible. There is one gender neutral rest room. Everything about is was filthy and low on supplies. We do not live in the SFV so we will not be making the trip back out here. We were always willing to make the drive and endure any wait for a table, but not anymore. I hope they read this and hire a better custodial service company because cleanliness is vital for all eateries. I would consider this a higher end restaurant with an extensive menu. Keep in mind this place is very busy so maybe the conditions don't bother others. read more
