Amazing experience for a group of 8 that the hostess wonderfully accommodated (without a reservation). Service was fantastic, ambiance was wonderful (classic Irish Pub decorated surprisingly well for the Christmas holiday) and our food and drinks were delicious. Our group ordered the nachos, fried pickles, salad, fish and chips, corned beef sandwich, and wraps - everyone had extremely positive reviews. Will be back next time we visit Chicago! read more

Good venue. Parking is challenging. Happy hour specials are nice. Smithwicks on tap! Large space with lots of seating options. TV's but it can get loud. read more

Somehow I had never visited Emerald Loop prior to last week, even though its North Wabash location is along the "side" of the famous Jewelers' Building (35 East Wacker) as touted by its placemats. My love and I recently visited Emerald Loop during the dreaded post-work / pre-show time slot, but despite the somewhat loud crowd we managed to have quite a lovely time here. At one point we were wondering if the wait for our order would be slow here, but the service was spot-on in all aspects and we managed to get to our show at the nearby Goodman Theatre in plenty of time. We had a gift card to take care of our order, and our server was a youthful Quick Draw McGraw in handling the gift card transaction with record-breaking speed and efficiency. Emerald Loop has some Happy Hour specials, such as a half-price Aperol Spritz that my love enjoyed for the taste as well as the price point. Although not a special I had a Guinness on tap, and it seems like it has been a long long time since I have had one because this frothy pour tasted like the best Guinness ever. My serving of bangers and mash was tasty and filling, with perfect portions of Irish sausage links, Irish baked beans and mashed potatoes with a yummy cup of gravy (hey it's an Irish pub so I went with an all-Irish lineup). My love really enjoyed her brisket grilled cheese, with several kinds of cheese and served on Texas toast. There is even a cup of tomato bisque soup for dipping, and the waffle fry and pickle spear she gave to me were good. All in all, this was a very satisfying visit to Emerald Loop and I imagine that we will be back sometime. read more

We had a reservation on a Sunday night for dinner and there were only 3 of us. After being sat, no one even saw us for 20 minutes. Then we asked for waters, an appetizer (fried pickles), and our entrees all at the same time. Our app came out and the one drink someone ordered, a Diet Coke, was forgotten about and I had to flag down our server to ask for it again. The food was fine but not worth coming here again. read more

So we came here on the recommendation of the door man at the Hyatt. The food was fantastic. The corned beef was great but my wife's brisket grilled cheese was ridiculously good. read more

Stopped for dinner after seeing Drunken Shakespeare. Food and drinks were just ok. Service was horrible. We decided to sit outside and waited about 15 minutes before even seeing a waiter. There were only 4 tables being used outside and with our waiter not coming outside often We thought the inside must be busy but it was empty when my husband went to use the bathroom. He did find out waiter eat icecream. It took way to long to even get a bill. Ou plates were empty for over 25 minutes before our waiter came out to see if we wanted dessert. Another 30 minutes or so before we even were able to leave. read more

Great venue, especially when you fly into town hungry, and late in the evening. Just about the only option after 10 p.m. The service is typically good. The vibe is a cross between a lively pub and casual restaurant. read more

Delicious food. We came here after we left our rooftop outing. I did not have any drinks, besides water, but my friend's drinks looked delicious. read more

Worst restaurant experience in my 3 days in Chicago. Terrible service terrible food terrible people all the way around. Stand in line even though the place isn't that busy and be carded even though you're clearly 60. After you've ordered some of their terrible food and drink, if you get up to go to the restroom they will steal your jacket and put it in a cupboard as if they are protecting it for you when really they are clearly worried about their $40 tab, making you feel as if you're a criminal. Total shit place. Total shit food. Total shit people. Go anywhere else. Lots of other choices in the area. read more

Seated immediately in the bar. I loved that they would substitute a turkey or beyond patty on any of their burgers. It's very loud, normal for a sports bar. Terrific friendly server. read more

Cozy Irish Bar atmosphere by the River. Bartenders kind of keep to themselves which was fine but maybe pick a different spot if you're looking to strike up a conversation. Great Corned Beef Sandwich. That's all I got. read more

We stopped in for brunch on a Sunday morning. They offer a limited brunch menu but everyone in our party found something to order. I ordered the whole wheat pancakes. They were supposed to come topped with strawberries and syrup. My order came with syrup. When we asked about the strawberries the waitress checked and brought me some raspberries and blackberries. I guess they were out of strawberries. The pancakes were a little dry. My fiancé had the Irish breakfast. It came with eggs, beans, black and white sausage, bangers and Irish bacon and bread. I had a bite of the eggs and they had a crunch like a bit of eggshell made it into the pan. Overall the food was okay. Their prices reflect that they are paying for a loop location but the food didn't live up to the prices. Overall, I think Emerald Loop is probably a good place for a after work drink but go elsewhere to eat. read more

Nice ambiance, decent service. Cozy spot to get drinks with friends, feels like the classic Irish pub and is very spacious. I haven't tried much on the menu, but the only thing we really get are the curry wings. They're unique and yummy, but you will smell like curry for the day (ha). The food is OK, come here for the drinks and ambiance. Plus it's conveniently located, so it's easy to stop by and get a break from the cold if you're sight-seeing. read more

Unfortunately I have to write this review for this place. I do not usually give 1 star reviews unless the food was bad and all, but we waited for an hour but never got anyone to take our orders after we got our drinks and starters. No plates were ever given and when we tried to get our waiter he said that he will be transferring us to a different waiter (we never met our new waiter). The ambiance was fine though nothing wrong with the area. Overall, I would give it a 1 star maybe less if i could because of the service. read more

Ireland in a bar. So well done and such great service. Emma was fantastic and took great care of us.

Quite possibly the worst experience of any restaurant I've dined at. I have disabilities and decided to go for their outdoor seating area due to the configuration of the doors/interior. I sat there for 20 minutes for anyone to come to me much less tend to the others seated outside. It was a sign of things to come. I was there a total of 90 minutes and the waiter came out twice. No drink refills, my meal was brought out without utensils...the meal was cold by the time anyone came out for me to ask for silverware. I then never did get a bill. I ended up leaving money under the plate. It was a horrible experience. read more

A classic drop by during st Patrick's. I always crave corned beef and cabbage during this time- which I ordered. The corned beef was on the smaller side but it was priced fairly ($16) compared to other places that charge $20+ for more meat. It came with a sweet potato mash, whole red potatoes, and cabbage. Just the like Irish- there was no seasoning and really bland. The corned beef was great however. The other dish pictured is a brisket grilled cheese with waffles fries and tomatoe soup. The brisket grilled cheese was on point, but the soup was pretty rough in quality so it was hard to dip it in. 6.5/10 read more

Came here with a coworker on a Friday after work and we were glad we were able to find a spot without a reservation. We decided last minute to go somewhere. The staff was great and really nice! While yes, we were out after Lolla looking for so,etching to eat and nothing else was open, this place saved us in that regard. The wait staff was busy but kind. The food, however, was sub-par. We were working with a limited menu due to the hour, no salads, so we grabbed a couple apps. The "charred" brussels sprouts were mushy as if they were the frozen variety heated in a microwave (?) and the flavor was off. read more

This place has great food and drinks at a reasonable price. Their happy hour specials are really good, especially this blueberry Jameson cocktail. Their charcuterie board was good as well. However, my favorite was the elote mac and cheese!! You must get the elote mac if you are a fan of either dish at all! 11/10. The service was good and the ambiance is reminiscent of a dive bar. A good place to kick back with friends. read more

Emerald Loop was a spacious Irish pub with a great soundtrack in the background and nice bartenders manning the taps. The food menu sounded great, but we were just there for drinks at the time. I ordered a Le Jus from Alarmist Brewing, which was a juicy, refreshing New England-Style Juicy IPA. There was a decent crowd on that late weeknight evening, but there was a bit of a depressing vibe in the air. However, I feel like Emerald Loop would be much more happening on the weekend. read more

Came here for a drink before seeing a show in the theater district. I wanted something to help keep me awake and was surprised to see this pub had an espresso martini! It was $13, which is super affordable for the city. The espresso martini was delicious- perfect amount of sweetness. Emerald Loop also offers a happy hour that we just missed as it ended at 6pm. One thing that was a bummer was we specifically ordered a draft beer because we were told it was 2 dollars off (separate from the happy hours) and when we closed out with a different bartender he said he didn't know what we were talking about. read more

We waited 20 minutes for the first drink, and it was terrible. We then waited another 30 to get another one. Service was awful and we could've done a better job serving ourselves. We asked for one last drink and she closed out. We are still here waiting for the drink. The atmosphere is nice without the random yelling people who have no decorum. read more

Emerald Loop is an Irish Pub in downtown Chicago. It has a cool Irish vibe to it inside, but the music is pretty loud, but that's expected for a bar. I got the Fish & Chips and it's was pretty solid, the fries were a little bit soggy, but the fish was great. Service wasn't great rarely checking in on us, but the food came out fast which was a plus. Overall it's a spot that gets the job done. read more

Not a great experience. The margarita was terrible, and even after sending it back (after just one sip), we were still charged for it. A great location in the city for a Guinness, nachos and football. Stopped in on the way to Christkindlemarkt to warm up and enjoy the space.

Came in on a Saturday, once seated we waited 15 min for server to greet us and claimed she didn't see us. Ordered drinks and decided to order food as well in case it took a while again. Got a seltzer and draft beer and took another 10 min. Our food was served and she came in to check on us on the quicks. The Mac piggy was delicious and fish and chips was alright. Finished our drinks and was going to get another round of drinks and our server was nowhere to be found. A taller, white gentleman, with long white hair whom I assume was a manager was talking to customer and saw us getting frustrated. Did absolutely nothing and waited another 15 min. Server finally came to us and decided to get check, figured the drinks were going to take longer to get than the check. Got check and boxes and began clearing the table until that one gentlemen finally decided to come up and take out of way while asking how our food was. Seriously? he saw us looking around multiple times for our server and decided not to step in..c'mon now. in all honestly the service SUCKED! even the hostess at some point came in to check on us to ask if everything was alright. it wasn't too busy either except for the bar. all the tables our server had around us seemed to be receiving the same service as us. read more

I ordered again from Emerald Loop while still isolating. This time I got the Shepard's Pie and the Oktoberfest big soft pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. The meat in the Shepard's pie was nicely seasoned and delicious. The pretzel was the perfect level of soft, buttery and chewy. The beer cheese was super tasty and it satisfied to craving I had for an Oktoberfest style pretzel & cheese that I thought I had missed out on this year. And once again, General Manager Connor O'Keeffe went above and beyond in making sure I got my order. He had noticed a typo in the address I had entered for the hotel I was staying at and he texted me to make sure my food made it to me. Highly recommended!!! read more

My brother, a friend of ours and I went down to Chicago for a concert on Sep 3rd. And we were staying at the hotel across the street and literally decided to eat here before the concert on a whim. And I'm really glad we did. Not only was it just perfect to eat in the outside area, the food was fantastic. I got Turkey pear wrap, my brother got a brisket grilled cheese, and our friend got the mac piggy mac cheese. Everything including the sides were crisp and fresh and tasted delicious. We all got different beers as well, but I'm not a huge beer connoisseur so besides saying they were all kind of similar but good, I don't have much else to articulate about them. Service was quick and friendly and I wish he honestly had more time to relax there before having to head out to our destination. Will definitely make a return visit if I am in the area again. highly recommend. read more

it's almost St. Patricks day, so I went to Emerald's bar to check out their seasonal St. Patricks day and Irish menu items to get the vibes going. First off, mandatory Guinness and some curry fries with Irish cheddar to start. I loved these, and they were a fantastic appetizer. As for the mains, the shepherds pie was good, and the Corned Beef & Cabbage I would skip next time. The Fish and Chips here are my absolute favorite, and the hand dipped beer battered cod really makes a difference. Submerge in some old bay tartar sauce and you have an amazing bite. read more
