Blue Raspberry Margarita And Simple Salad

Big parties are frequently happening at this bar in Lockport because it's one of the bigger places around here. Embers is in a building with several stories, the first of which is the bar and restaurant. It's where most of the action takes place, including live music and other stuff. Has lots of good drinks. The food is more of an afterthought but has some good options. A lot of big parties always seem to happen here. It has room for them. That's why. Menu is basic. They have frozen cocktails for $9, and these aren't the kind with mostly ice because they actually put a lot of alcohol in these. As for the food it's nothing special. Especially for vegetarians. A menu of pretty slim pickings. We got the Simple Salad. It's $10, and this actually was pretty big. The presentation was cool too. A lot of cool stuff to check out. When you've had enough here, check out the speakeasy upstairs. Getting food can be slow especially when it's busy. It often is. There's lots of good drinks but not that much to eat besides salads for vegetarians.

It was pretty average normal bar food.. I will say that I was happy that they had an impossible Burger I ordered also. The chicken tenders. I know that they said they were housemade but I don't know for $17 for four pieces that had no flavor at all and not even salt. Nothing.. I might have felt better if if they had used Frozen. But I really was surprised over the bill. I know food is expensive but we ordered a bowl of soup which was $7 two burgers. Probably they were about $17 a piece. I'm not even sure and a chicken tender with mashed potatoes and they upgrade that $2. We had three sodas full bill was $75 for three meals. I was appalled I don't mind paying money when you get a lot of food or if you leave and you can say ... Wow that was good. That's like $25 a plate... You can see the images below... I wish I could say I would go back for the food .I know they have a bar. There is an upstairs lounge. I don't discourage people from going out enjoying themselves. If I was just drinking I probably would go there but not to order food...

Embers is just excellent! Allison was our server and she took great care of us as soon as the hostess seated us. Thanks Allison! :-) We entered just after the restaurant opened on a Sunday. Our food (breakfast burgers, yum!) was served hot, tasty, & fresh. There were nice people to take care of us, the ambiance was awesome, and the burgers delish. Allison kept the coffee refills coming frequently as well. Honestly, we just could not have asked for anything more. Thanks Team Embers! :-) Patrick Shaughnessy Chicago

I heard about this place so figured would go and check it out. The building is in a cool location in downtown Lockport and the inside is very nice. A lot of bar seating and big restaurant area. The food was good just went with pretzel bites and breaded cauliflower this time. My only complaint is it took awhile to order drinks just sitting at the bar and it just seemed like the workers were all over like they just showed up at opening to work and were not prepared. After awhile the bartender got better but it shouldn't take 15 minutes to get a drink when there was only two other people at the bar and a family in the seating area. After saying that I will be back to check it out again and try more food. Cool place lots of potential and next time hopefully sit outside unfortunately couldn't due to rain. Check it out!!

Update: I appreciate the response Edward and have heart for your situation. I would hate for less and less customers to show up because the front of the house can't get it together. The food and drinks are good, the menu is awesome, as is the space. I hope your employees see this and care about the bigger picture. Best of luck to you! Previous review: I see a common theme here with these reviews -- service SUUCKS!! Edward M (Manager) you should handle this. The space is beautiful, you hire young pretty girls that are kind and always smile but forget drinks and orders, and your bartender always looks pissed off. I was told he was the reason that drinks from the bar take FOREVER. Regardless, im not the only one putting this in black and white. I had to get up and get menus for us and had to ask another waitress if we could have a waitress after sitting for 10+ minutes. Sincerely.

Embers is always a good vibe. Food is great. I noticed they update their menu a lot. Mac and cheese is good but my favorite would be the flatbreads

I REALLYYYYYYY do not appreciate being asked 16 times if we are doing okay by the waitress tonight. We had a few drinks tonight, and the waitress came to our table 16 times asking us if we were okay. It didn't feel like she was checking on us, but more like rushing us out. This place was dead. Why the hell did she make us feel unwelcome? I'm never coming here again.

I've been a regular here on Thursdays for trivia for a while. Good atmosphere and the staff is great. The Thursday bartender Nicole was awesome and kept the beer flowing even though I was getting something different ever round. The burger is good, but the blackened salmon salad is fantastic, highly recommend. There about 40 taps and most of it is local.

It was my first visit to your restaurant though my wife has been here before with friends. Chad was our server. I was very happy with the 2025 Pils. Dinner was amazing, Skirt steak for her, brisket for me with Yukon potatoes following salads for both of us. The quality and taste of the food was great and makes us want to come back and sample other dishes. We received great service and a nice complimentary glass of champagne (with Ho-Ho's) to finish our celebration. At the end of the evening we received a big surprise when Chad came over with news that we had no bill to pay as my wife's daughter and her husband had secretly called to pay the tab! Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.

We made a reservation, too. Kindred is a unique place in that it's in a strip mall and you enter part of the mall to get to the front entrance of Kindred. We walked in and there was nobody at the front desk but a sign that said Seat Yourself. We walk into the bar (b/c that was all we saw) and the bartender gives us the option of a table in the corner or a table right next to the bathroom. We noticed tables right by the window that were open, but those apparently weren't available. We took the corner. We sat and a waitress brought us menus. I asked about the Restaurant Week. She said she knew it was going on, but didn't know what the options were. She was very nice about it, but I had to prod her to find a menu for it. She came back a few minutes later for our drink order and I asked again for the Restaurant Week menu and she again alluded to not knowing what it was. I dropped it but if your restaurant is offering it - your staff should know what is on it and should promote it. Drinks...I ordered a martini - my husband said "diet coke or coke zero." She said - we don't have that. He then said "diet pepsi". She said - they have RC Cola Zero. My husband and I look at each other and we're like "ugh.". Only having RC as your pop of choice is an indicator to us of cheapness/not great food. Skip ahead - another couple comes into the bar at that point and the bartender offers the couple the table by the bathroom. The couple pointed to the tables by the window and I think the bartender said they were reserved. The couple said they had a reservation tonight. I couldn't catch the rest, but they ending up sitting at the table by the restroom. Very confusing. Then - it all made sense - a family of 5 came into the bar...(b/c still no person at the front desk and the seat yourself sign) - said they had a reservation and all of a sudden, someone appears and seats them in a completely different room. Apparently - there is a dining room that we all should have been sitting in. But - having no person at the front desk, a sign that says seat yourself, having an entrance in a strip mall side, and the bartender not explaining anything - was a problem. Skip ahead. Food - we got fried pickles (which were extremely salty) , STK Wrap (just okay), and Garlic Chicken bowl (little garlic). Nothing outstanding and nothing that would warrant us coming back.

Our server--who was also tending bar--took our drink orders. Soft drinks arrived promptly, and we asked for a few extra minutes to look things over. I considered a burger, but at $25 it felt a bit steep, so we went with a mix of other dishes: Cedar Plank Salmon with Basil Soup, a Keto Cobb Salad with dressing on the side, The Park Reuben with fries, and a Blackened Chicken Panini with fries. Impressively, everything came out in about ten minutes. The Reuben and the Panini were both solid choices, though the fries were only room temperature. The salmon had great flavor, though the rice could have been a bit more cohesive. The Cobb salad hit the mark--fresh, satisfying, and easy to customize with the dressing on the side. Our server checked in regularly and kept our drinks refilled. The crowd was a mix of regulars, retirees, and casual diners, and we found ourselves eyeing other entrées as they passed by. The restaurant also has a great patio that will be perfect once the weather warms up, plus a well‑appointed bar area with plenty of TVs. Winter Olympics highlights were playing during our visit, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. We took a look at the dessert menu, but nothing really grabbed us this time. The flavors blend together so well, it may very well displace our prior favorite, spicy battered cauliflower. On to the main course. My wife selected their shrimp tacos, which provided 4 tacos on white tortillas, with sour cream and guacamole. She really enjoyed the flavor. I tried the new Greek burger, which was a burger with red onions, feta again, and a large burger I ordered medium rare which actually came medium rare.
