I have been Coming INTO the BAR for the past 3 weeks. RATING your bartenders.THE TOP 4 BARTENDERS IN LOCKPORT AT ONE PLACE. Good JOB. The girl with the white bottle opener, The girl that has way to much make up on. The guy that has Knowledge of Beer. Last but not LEAST the dude with Flames tattoo sleeve. I think these PEOPLE SHOULD BE YOUR HOLIDAY, NIGHT SHIFT, WEEKEND CREW. . The amount of knowledge these four have, Blow my mind. I have had the pleasure of watching each one these people, do there job and more. I know one of the four was Key West Bar Tender of the year. The food is GREAT. I don't like the fact there are 3 menus. I wish I remember there names, but these 4 make your BAR one of the best I have been to around the WORLD. read more

Service was great one time and not the next. maybe training new staff. Patio was too windy, maybe adding some glass panels would help decrease wind and noise from the train. Food was great esp. brussel sprouts. read more

If you are looking for a loud sports bar this is the place to be. However, we went to have dinner, drinks and conversation. All three turned out to be too much to ask for. It was so loud you had to shout to be heard even to the waitress standing next to me. They were out of three of the beers we attempted to order. I found that especially troubling for a supposed "tap house". Though the waitress was polite and cheerful she was apparently inexperienced, demonstrated by delivering one drink at a time rather than a round. Maybe Embers needs to invest in trays. When ordering food the waitress did not tell us the specials but when we ordered what was written on the specials board at the hostess station the waitress had no idea what we were talking about. The waitress left to check the specials board. Apparently the hostess wrote the wrong specials on the board. We had a party of 6 and they were out of 3 of the entree we ordered (which were all different items). When we attempted to change the order we finally had to settle for what they did have available not what we actually wanted. They when the food came one of the orders was completely wrong, by that time we did not want to wait for another entree swap. I would go back to have a drink while watching a game but definitely not for dinner. read more

This place has potential, but when I went there for dinner and drinks, it was a horrible experience. We sat at a table for nearly 15 minutes before being waited on. The waitress knew absolutely nothing about beer or the ins and outs of restaurant for that matter. I ordered a beer. She came back and said they were out. I ordered a different beer, and a couple minutes later she came back and told me they were out of that too. I ordered another and she came back and said they were changing the keg and it would be a few minutes. Eventually I just settled for a bottle of something the waitress definitely knew they had. I understand that this is something that can happen, but it was disappointing. The food took a while to come out, but was good. The bar itself looked like it could be fun. I don't know when I'll try it again, but I hope it is a better experience next time. read more

Great atmosphere...friendly helpful staff. Try and of the burgers. Extensive beer and wine list will keep you coming back as well. Patio sections outside is great. Hd tv everywhere you look inside. Great and much needed addition to downtown Lockport. Finally a sit down restaurant and not a dive bar. Filled a burnt out hole in downtown Lockport with a bright vibrant business. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Just walked out after waiting well over an hour and a half for a burger that never came. My husband and I had two beers and ordered one burger for me as he had already eaten. We sat on the patio and our server stopped at the table twice during our extended wait to first make excuses about the kitchen and then apologize for us being brought the wrong burger, which was a lie because we were never brought anything. During our wait we also witnessed a large party of 10 be told that they were out of numerous food items, which surprised me being that their menu is so limited. Additionally, a table of 3 sat and waited for 20 min or so and ended up walking out after no one addressed them. To top off the trip, the manager was extremely rude when I approached him on my way out to make him aware of the situation. He made excuses as to the fact that they haven't been open long and was in no way apologetic for the terrible service. This will definitely be the first and last time we visit this establishment. read more

great selection of beer and love their pretzel appetizer! the place is huge and they have an awesome patio and deck too

Came in the other day and was very impressed. Used to frequent Dreams that was in the same building years ago and loved it there. New place much more wide open and bright. Bartenders were great. Though one of them was on their first day, she did a wonderful job. Now to the food... Had the Vanilla Bean Porter wings to start. Wow, amazing. Nice smokey sweet taste. Would highly recommend these to anyone. The Embers burger was very good too, but could have been a little bigger in my opinion. The Maple Cajan bacon was a nice choice of a side in getting 6 big slices. Note those who like dessert, try the not your father's root beer ice cream. Yes I said ice cream, and not float. Can't wait for my next visit to try the Guinness ice cream. They have a nice upper level with a few pool tables, and a very nice patio to sit on. Hoping for the best for this new place because I really did enjoy it. read more

There were three in our party (one man & two women) and we were the first customers at 11:30 am on a Tuesday and a total of 20 people occupied tables in the restaurant during our lunch. Our waitress, who referred to us as "yous guys" during our entire meal, claimed that everything on the menu was her favorite dish and was absolutely the best! We ordered our drinks and then hamburgers. Each of us were specific about how we wanted our meal cooked and what additions/subtractions we wanted i.e.: meat medium or medium-well, no tomatoes/pickles, grilled onions, no seasonings on our French fries, etc. When our food came two of the three orders were not correct and one had to be sent back because it was not anywhere close to the order placed. The waitress persisted in informing us that we had not requested our food a certain way because she knew we hadn't made those requests... A waitress should not argue with a customer...She should have apologized and then done what she could to correct the situation. One of the other waitresses who helped deliver our drinks to the table looked like she had just rolled out of bed and never bothered to comb her hair as it was hanging in her face and therefore in our drinks as well, disgusting!! The food was ok, nothing outstanding. This is a place that needs to train and mentor their employees about food, how it is served, the attitude of who serves it and their appearance. We patronized many different restaurants for lunch weekly, this one needs mountains of improvement. We will not be back and would not recommend Embers Tap to anyone. read more

I really want to like this place but they keep trying to make me feel otherwise.Their location and wonderful rebuild create a potential winning environment. Unfortunately those good traits are seriously impeded by the immature staff, recently abbreviated menu, and seeming lack of concern by the staff. On our most recent trip we noticed the latest generation menu which was a downgrade from the prior one and seriously lacked creativity, even in the gastro-pub realm. We wanted something light with our beer so we ordered the soft pretzel with cheese. We were served a piece of pretzel bread with a small serving of Velveeta-like cheese and German mustard. Feeling disappointed and deceived I mentioned it to the young manager who commented " We've had some complaints about that. I'll tell the chef". Generally I am very tolerant to things but this really seemed like they went out of their way to make sure we would be unimpressed. We left 25% tip and may never return. read more

This is my second time visiting the restaurant. The first time around we waited over an hour for our food to come out. They were so apologetic that they invited us back and gave us free drink. The second time around, two hour wait, finally get your seat and ANOTHER hour wait for the food to come out. Same excuse as the last, the kitchen got backed up. We could tell that we weren't the only ones that were getting the same speech because they were going around the tables explaining the wait. Menu is limited but everything on the menu is tasty. The location is great. Lockport needed something like this. The rooftop is such a nice to have, but the staff need a better process. The wait staff needs to communicate more. Once you've waited for so long for the table its hard to get up and leave when you already invested another hour for the food to come out. This has happened twice to us and not sure if its worth the risk to try again and pray the wait on food wont happen again. read more

I think Embers is striving to be everything to everyone for at least part of the time. What I mean is that you can find something pretty good on their menu no matter who you are. The go-to seems to be the burgers, but that's the non-committal route. The steak is really good. If they can transform something as gross as brussel sprouts into something I actually enjoy, I have to give them credit. I'll admit, their food is better for special events. I spent my NYE there and the food was delicious. They offered prime rib (which I usually don't like, but it actually had flavor to it) and all the sides were great. On the weekends...Upstairs is where it's at. LIVE MUSIC! There was only one time I went there for the live music and was disappointed. It was just a weird Valentine's day theme night in which it was a guy singing old crooner music to a karaoke machine...but that's fine we just went across the street to the Wine Bar for music after dinner instead. It's always worth checking out for a little while and if they don't deliver what your looking for, move on. I haven't been to Karaoke or Trivia night alternating Thursdays, but I will have to check it out. I love karaoke! I love that it is trying to provide something other than just a bunch of TVs with the game on. Some things could use improvement, but all in all, I think it has a lot going for it. I do think the sign out front needs to be more obvious and they need to do more marketing/promo of events etc. read more
