Blue Raspberry Margarita And Simple Salad
Steve A.

Big parties are frequently happening at this bar in Lockport because it's one of the bigger places around here. Embers is in a building with several stories, the first of which is the bar and restaurant. It's where most of the action takes place, including live music and other stuff. Has lots of good drinks. The food is more of an afterthought but has some good options. A lot of big parties always seem to happen here. It has room for them. That's why. Menu is basic. They have frozen cocktails for $9, and these aren't the kind with mostly ice because they actually put a lot of alcohol in these. As for the food it's nothing special. Especially for vegetarians. A menu of pretty slim pickings. We got the Simple Salad. It's $10, and this actually was pretty big. The presentation was cool too. A lot of cool stuff to check out. When you've had enough here, check out the speakeasy upstairs. Getting food can be slow especially when it's busy. It often is. There's lots of good drinks but not that much to eat besides salads for vegetarians.

It was pretty average normal bar food.. I will say that I was happy that they had an impossible Burger I ordered also. The chicken tenders. I know that they said they were housemade but I don't know for $17 for four pieces that had no flavor at all and not even salt. Nothing.. I might have felt better if if they had used Frozen. But I really was surprised over the bill. I know food is expensive but we ordered a bowl of soup which was $7 two burgers. Probably they were about $17 a piece. I'm not even sure and a chicken tender with mashed potatoes and they upgrade that $2. We had three sodas full bill was $75 for three meals. I was appalled I don't mind paying money when you get a lot of food or if you leave and you can say ... Wow that was good. That's like $25 a plate... You can see the images below... I wish I could say I would go back for the food .I know they have a bar. There is an upstairs lounge. I don't discourage people from going out enjoying themselves. If I was just drinking I probably would go there but not to order food...

Breakfast Burger & Fries, delish! :-)

Embers is just excellent! Allison was our server and she took great care of us as soon as the hostess seated us. Thanks Allison! :-) We entered just after the restaurant opened on a Sunday. Our food (breakfast burgers, yum!) was served hot, tasty, & fresh. There were nice people to take care of us, the ambiance was awesome, and the burgers delish. Allison kept the coffee refills coming frequently as well. Honestly, we just could not have asked for anything more. Thanks Team Embers! :-) Patrick Shaughnessy Chicago

I heard about this place so figured would go and check it out. The building is in a cool location in downtown Lockport and the inside is very nice. A lot of bar seating and big restaurant area. The food was good just went with pretzel bites and breaded cauliflower this time. My only complaint is it took awhile to order drinks just sitting at the bar and it just seemed like the workers were all over like they just showed up at opening to work and were not prepared. After awhile the bartender got better but it shouldn't take 15 minutes to get a drink when there was only two other people at the bar and a family in the seating area. After saying that I will be back to check it out again and try more food. Cool place lots of potential and next time hopefully sit outside unfortunately couldn't due to rain. Check it out!!

Impossible burger - She forgot the side of mayo and tomatoes but it was very good!

Update: I appreciate the response Edward and have heart for your situation. I would hate for less and less customers to show up because the front of the house can't get it together. The food and drinks are good, the menu is awesome, as is the space. I hope your employees see this and care about the bigger picture. Best of luck to you! Previous review: I see a common theme here with these reviews -- service SUUCKS!! Edward M (Manager) you should handle this. The space is beautiful, you hire young pretty girls that are kind and always smile but forget drinks and orders, and your bartender always looks pissed off. I was told he was the reason that drinks from the bar take FOREVER. Regardless, im not the only one putting this in black and white. I had to get up and get menus for us and had to ask another waitress if we could have a waitress after sitting for 10+ minutes. Sincerely.

Embers is always a good vibe. Food is great. I noticed they update their menu a lot. Mac and cheese is good but my favorite would be the flatbreads

I REALLYYYYYYY do not appreciate being asked 16 times if we are doing okay by the waitress tonight. We had a few drinks tonight, and the waitress came to our table 16 times asking us if we were okay. It didn't feel like she was checking on us, but more like rushing us out. This place was dead. Why the hell did she make us feel unwelcome? I'm never coming here again.

I've been a regular here on Thursdays for trivia for a while. Good atmosphere and the staff is great. The Thursday bartender Nicole was awesome and kept the beer flowing even though I was getting something different ever round. The burger is good, but the blackened salmon salad is fantastic, highly recommend. There about 40 taps and most of it is local.

Beer list is great, food tastes good too. The only thing I had an issue was the pokiness of the service. Definitely could have been better.

I've really enjoyed coming to this spot. Every time I go I end up in a conversation with people I…read moredon't know, very "Cheers" vibe. Really enjoy when they bring in live music too! Although they don't serve food you can bring your own food which is great! Beer at this spot is pretty solid. I look forward to going again soon!

Went for the first time a couple weeks ago for the comedy night. It must be a company that does the…read morecompany part and the comedians come to town and a bar hosts them. Hands down worst bar ever to host them. I think the signs said the bar does this weekly or something??? How? Size/ atmosphere- This place is TINY. If you're going to go you better get the whole party there extremely early for a seat because you aren't really going to be able to save seats and it's the only way you will be able to see the comedian. The set up is awful at this bar. You can sit on a crumby house couch up close next to the stage, grab chairs directly in front of the front door in the aisle that everyone's purses will be hitting your head with as they walk by, attempt to grab a round table with 6-7 chairs and most have terrible views, or attempt to sit at the bar with your back to the bar. The building structure poles or beer equipment and area completely block the view so for 85% of the comedy show myself, friends, and other guests were staring out the random store front windows or looking down just listening to the show because I could not see the front / comedian. There was no where to move to since they packed the house. Until 2 people left the bar we got up and sat there and let two friends scoot over so they could maybe attempt to lean over and see. Only have 2 bathrooms which are coed but that's fine it's small. The line though for them was longggg. Drinks/ service/ show- Small options available and only local craft that were okay. Get some freaking food or apps besides over charged crappy frozen pizza. Ciders that they sold were disgusting- like not edible. The drinks are as decor on the wall and kinda confusing to know if that's on draft, only beer available, all beer they make/ sell, etc. We all had issues with the stupid QR code menu and the website was cut off on half the groups phones and wouldn't show everything. Limited selection. No cocktails or mixed drinks is what I was told and then saw people drinking cocktails. No domestic. They only had 2 tablets yet only would use one and only have 2 bartenders the whole show. The lines for drinks from before the show started to after were constant. Bartender tripped over the rug, couldn't figure out where or what drinks they had, used the wrong beer glasses each drink. One was super rude and almost avoided people. I think one or both were possibly the owner. Then after the intermission as the headliner was starting and until almost the very end of her set the couple at the bar WOULD NOT STOP TALKING. A huge problem besides the view and size of this place was that they did NOT use or know how to use their speakers or volume. The microphone might as well been off. Not a damn person could hear anything in there unless you were up front really. This couple would not stop talking and I'm not sure if it was the owner and a patron or what but listening to their convo, not by choice, they did not know each other and she was not here for the show. Everyone from the other side of the bar, in front of the bar, across the room was staring and looking back at the couple to stop talking. A man at the end of the bar asked the bartender to tell them to tone it down and he said yeah ok and then continued avoiding the situation until he weaseled his way in and they still did not stop talking. She eventually left thank god but please do NOT go to a bar with an event if you can't read the room holy shit. I did really like the mom juice box from another brewery. I had a couple of the sweet and sour beer from Nik & ivy or whatever beer and it was good. The comedians were all young and funny. Main show was pretty intense as far as her opening up for her set (suicide, cutting, eating disorders, sex, etc) but that's literally their choice and how comedy works but I know a bunch of people made comments about how deep and too much it was. There was also 2 woman that ruined basically the entire show. The comedians were even over it. They were WASTED when the show started at 730 or 8. The older woman was a local teacher, she willingly shouted to the entire room the entire show, hitting on the comedian and would yell out loud and interact the whole time. Ok first one was funny but after 50 f'ing times get it together and grow up. The comedians were getting annoyed and the bar owners should have stepped up. They were making a scene in the bathroom and holding everyone up also. I'm all for girls night and letting loose but you should have boundaries and that's a liability for a bar owner also. I won't be back.

The server never asked if the person in our party who was subbing a Gluten Free Bun was due to preference or "allergy", when this happens I hope to assume the kitchen treats it as any other allergy but you are never too sure. When the food was brought to the table, they brought out a burger with a NON GF bun, not once BUT TWICE, additionally they cross contaminated the burger they did bring out by just putting the burger that was on the non-GF bun on the GF Bun. Thankfully the person who was eating this only has a mild to moderate reaction to gluten when cross contaminated, but this could go really bad if she would have eaten the bun and been sick for weeks! The server was very friendly; however, you can clearly tell she was overwhelmed, and in my option they were not very busy. The server was probably the best part of our experience and that was because she was nice and apologetic for the error. This was a restaurant that clearly appeared to have a "older crowd, age 60 or better" or regulars, and was NOT Kid Friendly despite being known for being dog friendly. We we had two small children who dine out frequently with us and know how to behave for their age, we were actually told how cute they were on more than one occasion, however a patron at the bar YELLED at a 3 year old for making a stomp on the floor while we were we were packing up to leave correcting his behavior already for the stomp. The patron was so loud that everyone there heard her yell, she made more of a scene than the 3 year old did the entire time they were there. We had a reservation for a group of 8 adults and 2 children going to celebrate my mom's (aka grandma's) 71st birthday for dinner. The ambiance was just so-so, the online pictures showed artwork on the walls, there was none. The food was mediocre at best, and the food wasn't "hot" including the soup, just warm, not anyone in our party thought what they ordered was "good" everyone said it was "just alright". The hostess and/or possible manager had a grumpy look on her face, and we were walking in and out and we just spent $402 with tip. When we made the reservation we loved the idea of the history, the location, the variety of the menu, and had such high hopes for making mom's birthday special, but were sadly disappointed and embarrassed for this experience for her birthday. Our past dining experiences there were never over the top or exceptional, but they were never this bad. After this we will not go there again. I understand restaurants can have a bad night here and there but I think this restaurant can over all do better!
