Delicious food and friendly service. Cute and tasty cocktails. The steak was flavorful and excellently executed. We left very satisfied. read more

Dinner tonight was, simply put, disappointing. We went prepared to have a slightly extravagant dinner but a an extremely good one as well. Sadly the food fell far short of that mark My bone in rib eye may have been "aged" but in my opinion it was not worth its cost and in fact not as good as my wife's regular rib eye. I'm convinced the dry aged is in reality shriveled and tougher meat. Ok, meat aside the fact that you get nothing other than some cherry tomatoes served with your entrees leaves it to your side dishes to fill in . My potato mousse was good but my wife's mushroom side dish was unappealing even for a mushroom lover. Overall we left with no desire whatsoever to ever return. read more

The night we had dinner at Ember the menu was prix fixe and there only a few options for entree ( New York strip , chicken , or catch of the day) and salad ( Caesar or Wedge). There were no options for sides , wilted spinach and pommes purée The appetizer was beef tartare no other options and same for the dessert a chocolate lava cake with ice cream. My first impressions were that it's a small restaurant but very nice facing a stage. Seating inside or patio. The service was really wonderful!! I didn't like my table it was right in front of the door ugh I saw everyone outside and everyone that entered and exited. Now the food ... All very good. Appetizer I didn't care for at all Beef tartare but the salads were both fresh and delicious. The New York strip cooked to perfection. The half roasted chicken so so good. Spinach was ok but the presentation was so beautiful and the pommes were the best I've ever tasted dining out I believe it was truffle pommes mashed. The best of all the Lava Cake with ice cream ... so decadent but the ice cream tasted like grandpa made it. It was divine , my grandpa could make the best ice cream ever !!! Overall I had a very memorable experience and would def return hoping to have an opportunity to order from their regular menu. I would say if you've never been please go and try it !!! read more

Ember Steak - Lava cake - Steakhouses Near Me - Napa, California

This place is located on the Meritage Resort property. It's a little out of the way from all the popular Napa spots but it's well worth it. The space is beautiful but it's not very big. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time. There's also patio seating if being outdoors is more your thing. I ordered the rib eye with crab & asparagus, mashed potatoes, and truffle fries. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The service was attentive without being intrusive. My water was always being checked and filled. Gotta love that! I visited with my girlfriends while we stayed at Vino Bello. It was nice to have a fine dining experience so close to the hotel. If you're staying at the nearby hotels, Ember Steak is a wonderful option. read more

We are locals, we went to see Boz Skaggs and decided to treat ourselves by staying at the Venue where he was performing. We were looking forward to eating at The Ember Steak Restaurant, it was expensive and nothing special, we were so disappointed . We ordered filets that were average. The beet salad was literally beets cut into 6 very small pieces with frisée as a garnish , toasted pistachios, no dressing (just dry.) It was hard to fathom they would serve it to share with my husband and I. The mashed potatoes were like a soup, very unappetizing. It was unorganized and understaffed. Sad to have to give such a poor review, just not worth the experience. read more

We had reservations for patio seating but when we arrived the host asked if we would like another option since there was a large loud party on the patio. I thought that was very considerate. They held a secluded side table inside for us just in case! The service was amazing and we loved everything the waiter recommended! The sautéed mushrooms were my absolute favorite side with the filet mignon! We will be back! read more

Amazing place, service was fantastic, classy ambiance, but not pretentious, the food was 10/10, best restaurant at the Meritage by far. The A5 Wagyu, Mosaic Roll and the dry aged ribeye were some of the best tasting things we've had around Napa. We'll be back. read more

Although the restaurant's name is Ember Steak, I was most impressed with the seafood appetizers side dishes, and dessert. Yes, the steaks were good, but I don't think that is their main distinction. We had excellent service from Anthony. In fact, all the staff were very attentive and helpful. The restaurant is very attractive inside and has a nice bar. read more

4 of us shared the 32 oz American Wagyu Tomahawk with bone marrow accoutrement, as well as 3 sides, the scalloped potatoes, mushroom dish and cesar salad. The food was satisfactory, nothing to write home about. The Tomahawk said Wagyu, but there was more gristle than there was marbleized meat. We ordered the bone marrow and there was not even a teaspoon worth of marrow...it was mostly bone. The best part of the meal the cheesy bread and our server. He was very good as well as the other service staff. 3.5 stars from all of us! read more

Alright so me and my colleagues and my boss decided to have dinner here, our reservation was at 7:30pm and we arrive on the dot, we got sat immediately which was great. Our waiter was very friendly and informative, gave us a breakdown on the menu and recommended some good drink choices. I went with the lychee cocktail and it was fantastic, and I ordered the NY strip and potato pavé and let me tell you, that was the best potato dish I've ever had in my life, I'd order 3 of those to take home. The food was hands down amazing. But if I had to make one comment, the lava cake was lacking a bit, it didn't give that nice gooey center, and the cake itself tasted a bit off, other then that it was good. And last we did have to wait a while for everything and one of my colleagues didn't get her drink till almost the end of our dinner, if it hadn't been for that I would give 5 stars. All in all I'd come back again for sure with my family. read more

We stayed at the Meritage for a weekend and decided to have dinner at Ember Steak. Our server, Bryce, was so amazing and attentive. He saw on our OpenTable reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and comped us a champagne toast and dessert of our choice! The food was incredible and we sat outside (there are heaters) and got to see the stars. I highly recommend Ember Steak and thank you Bryce for making our experience so enjoyable! read more

It was raining hard when we visited Ember and we got lucky that we were seated without reservation. My in-laws were worried of the outside seating but we stayed warm all throughout our dinner. The staff assigned to us was pretty patient and would consider our kind request of taking a photo. Food was great, and we're allowed to share. That cauliflower steak with gochujang, miso and kimchi which I ordered is worthy as an entree. My in-laws were happy with all the entrees we ordered: salmon, porkchop and roasted chicken. I added sides which complement well with the main dishes. The maitake mushroom was my fave! The baked potato, fries and lobster bisque were great additions, too. I think the toast sourdough was the only awful thing that was served last night- it was burnt but as people who don't waste food we just removed burnt parts instead. Hope no one experience this in the future. I ordered a mocktail with grenadine and it was the sweetest mocktail I have, so good!!! My husband enjoyed his red wine. Overall, I highly recommend. read more

We had a great experience at Ember steak tonight. My husband had the special fish, I had the a5 wagyu and my 5 year old had a chicken tenders with fries that were all great quality. The manager Andrzej and our server provided the best customer service. Every thing we ate including our dinner rolls and molten cake with ice cream were delicious. We also had bone marrow which was a nice treat. The restaurant was classy and friendly towards my little one. My kid was given crayons and a nice paper to color. They provided blankets if you get cold. as there is outdoor seating. we will definitely be coming back here next time we are in napa. Thanks Ember Steak! read more

When we first walked into this place it was very dark and you could tell it's certainly not designed for children. I understand that It's a steakhouse so that is not uncommon. But be that as it may, we did have our three year-old with us. I get it. I worked in hospitality for over 20 years. These establishments pretty much frown upon bringing small children but hey, that's life. People have children and they deserve to eat in a restaurant just like anyone else. We had to wait 15 minutes just to get a highchair. Which may not seem like a big deal but we waited so long he became a bit disoriented. Because we had our little guy with us and because he is like a ticking time bomb I asked them not to hold anything or to course anything out. Just to bring stuff out when it's ready. But maybe I should've been a bit more specific because even though we didn't want them to pause between courses we were still hoping to receive things in the order that they were ordered in. Our side dishes came out before our drinks. Drinks took well over 15 minutes to be received. Side dishes sat forever before entrees were served. Finally steaks came out with the salad. Salad was not what we ordered. Neither was asparagus. Caesar salad was wrapped in some kind of carpaccio beef. We ordered just a regular Caesar. Asparagus also came out with Crab on top, which was also not what we ordered. Just a little frustrating. Oysters on the half shell came out last. The oysters were very crisp and fresh, but the sauce that was served with them was on the sweet side. Not my cup of tea but I'm sure others might like that. The thing that upset me most was when I went to use the restroom and when I came back, they took my steak away. I still had a little less than half of it left with every intention of eating it. GONE At 62 dollars for an Ala carte steak DON'T DO THAT!!!!!! Like SERIOUSLY ?! That is rude and highly unprofessional. We understand you have to turn tables but it should never be at the customers cost. The least you could've done was wrap it up! Also underwhelming was your 11 dollar cheese rolls. I mean come on. It's bread and cheese and they are dinky, dense, and not worth the price. I am certainly not opposed to paying for bread. But the cost of things should just match the quality. Positives: The French fries are outstanding. They have that coating on them to give them that extra crisp texture. The Mac and cheese is phenomenal. Some of the best Mac I've had in a really long time. They put cubes of what tasted like crispy pork belly and it was perfect. My New York was also fantastic. I feel like every restaurant does their temperatures different like sometimes you order medium rare and that steak is still heavily bleeding so I've started ordering medium because I experience this too way much. I do prefer my steak medium rare plus but I know a lot of chefs hate when you order that way so I just order medium now in hopes that it will be a true medium or even better just slightly red. Stake could not have been more perfect, which was why I was so upset when it disappeared after coming back from the bathroom. The oysters were also delicious, but I just wish they offered a classic miniognette. I think it's great when they branch out and try to do different things. The sunomomo approach was creative and I'm certain a lot of people would love this, but I just wish that a classic sauce would've been available or offered. They were too sweet for me. I will say that the service, although it took rather long, was very kind and that they did try to accommodate to our child which we deeply appreciate. Hostesses, food runners, bussers, and especially our server were all so sweet and kind. We very much appreciated that. Cocktails were all tasty and thoughtful and well prepared. For four adults and one toddler to eat here with drinks and no dessert, it was 700. For that amount of money, even though I know we are in NAPA, you still have to up your game. Thank you read more

Came in on a Wednesday. Had oysters, nagiri and a yummy Caesar Salad. We had the bouillabaisse and the tomahawk- it was delicious. Went here on a recommendation from our Wine Club and it was ok, but not quite there ... Our food was decent especially the steak tartare, but no explanation on presentation or small plates and it was served with a giant crostini that made a mess on the table because you had to physically break it apart to consume the tartare. Asked if Pittsburgh char was an option, for our steaks never came back with a response and my steak was over cooked. All in all for the price point I would head to Cole's or Cordeiro's... read more

Went in for a table. The entire restaurant was empty, I just had surgery and asked for a table and the seater said they didn't have availability unless I had a reservation. Completely empty restaurant. It wasn't until I told her I needed a table because I just had surgery that she turned us away with the excuse that we needed a reservation, because they were booked up. Not one person in the restaurant except her and one other staff member. I'll never come back. read more

This restaurant was absolutely wonderful! It had the most beautiful interior and exterior. The service was amazing as well. Our servers name was Jack and he took amazing care of my boyfriend and I in celebrating our four year anniversary. We even got a chance to speak with the manager about how much we appreciated Jack's service. She was very attentive and kind as well. She even gave us a little gift for our four year as we were wrapping up dinner! We kept on being surprised and delighted throughout the night. Aside from the excellent service and ambience the food and drinks were outstanding as well! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Wow, make reservation online, with emails back and forth, and confirming us. We get there and there's a big radio festival there. Only attendees/ticket holders to the festival can eat at your restaurant. Why the hell didn't you tell us that when we made the reservation?? We took an Uber. We had to find another restaurant. You wasted our time and money!! What a crappy way to operate your restaurant. Zero stars, not one!! read more

We were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful it was here. We live near Napa and go frequently to eat. We decided to stay for a small escape at the Meritage. Ember was so good!! The service was spot on from the two ladies at the front to our awesome server, Drew. The food was perfectly prepared and very flavorful. I came here and sat at the bar for dinner after a long business meeting and had the wonderful pleasure of a fabulous meal and top-notch service from Julio. I tend to order all my steakhouse favorites when dining at any steakhouse- I'm my go gos- I started with the old fashioned, which was absolutely delicious. Then I had the iceberg salad with the blue cheese for a starter. For my entree I had the New York strip with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus with a cab. Food was fantastic- I order medium rare plus and the steak was cooked to perfection. Also, the service was welcoming and friendly. Julio was kind, knowledgeable, professional yet lighthearted and personable. As someone who dines out often at the finest restaurants, you'd be surprised how often servers don't know how to balance being helpful and not interrupting conversation. For me, service is important and i received great service here which only added to the experience. The food was very high quality and the ambiance and noise level were cozy and chic. I will definately be returning when I return for another trip in January. read more

I rarely give a restaurant a five star review but Ember deserves one. The best overall description is a throwback to the classic steakhouse in the last century, but the service the quality of the food and the ambience brings it right up to the present day. Bryce, our server was excellent, he was spot on in understanding any food issues and made a point of working with us for alternatives. Not only were the steaks, wonderful but salad and asparagus were well cooked and brought to the table with a beautiful presentation. My one small disappointment is that although there is ample choice from the cocktail menu, California wines were a minority of the wines by glass menu. It would seem that a restaurant in the heart of Napa would have the resources to find wine that complements their menu. We don't often get over to Napa from Santa Rosa, but it will be on our let's go list in the future. read more

My wife and I ate here on Valentines weekend and thoroughly enjoyed everything. We don't eat out much as she has very particular tastes. I of course had a rib eye and loved it. She had the chicken breast with " chicken Jus". She had wine and my first drink was the blueberry margarita. I haven't had a great margarita since moving to NorCal and this was no exception. My second drink was the "pumpkin mule" which I enjoyed very much. I finished my steak and we were enjoying visiting with our waiter, Anthony, he suggested I drink my mule from the mug and not use the copper straw. Excellent advice as almost all tastes are actually smells. I then proceeded to finish my wife's chicken and Jus. The chicken was fine but the Jus blew my mind. It is impossible to describe but I felt a thousand culinary memories going through my mind. Alison, the pumpkin mule was a perfect pairing with this Jus. When you go here, I know it's al about the beef, but someone at the table needs to have the Chicken and Jus. Everyone order a pumpkin mule and taste the Jus and of course a bit of chicken. You will never forget it! read more
