Chicken sausage bagel ($11)
Han-Nha T.

Pretty fantastic bagel place. Had a great ambiance and menu had a range of prices. Wanted to try a lot of different things, ultimately settled on lox bagel (2oz of lox) with the works. Drinks looked good too. Lox on an everything bagel. When I asked if I should go with a sesame or everything bagel, the shop keeper told me everything can be salty so I should only go with it if I like salt. I personally didnt feel it was salty, especially with the cream cheese that tasted whipped and the great accouterments. Chicken sausage on salt bagel was great, but keep in mind salt bagels tend to be smaller than other bagels. Overall, I would come back and hope to get a coffee as well.

Artichoke Flatbread

Eltana has a new wood fired flatbread that is delicious. I had the artichoke one; it was tasty and filling. Enjoy! Full disclosure: I have a small interest in this business. To my credit it is my first time posting about it!

Walking by to my massage place and came across Eltana. The lure of woodfired bagels drew me in. I got a sandwich and it came with a pickle, orange slice and some bagel chips. It was a tasty sandwich but the turmeric chicken fell out and marked up my white coat. We ordered a drip coffee and a tall latte and the total was just short of $30. Kind of spendy for what we got. The folks at the counter were friendly and helpful.

Bagel, Cream Cheese & Double Lox Fixings
Gregg L.

Was in need of a quick breakfast and this spot was around the corner from where we were staying. Overall, it was solid, but nothing overly special. Went with the double lox sandwich special and a cold brew, which put me back $25 -- definitely a bit pricy. The toppings including the lox were all very good. I found the bagel to be a bit flat, a bit mealy and didn't get much of the wood oven flavor they advertise. The place is very open and welcoming inside. The staff were fine, but not overly friendly or engaged. Closer to a 3.5, but a 3 feels too low so I'm rounding up.

I was set on running to get a bagel on Christmas Eve morning, but most bagel places were closed for the holidays. Luckily, Eltana was open! I've had Eltana bagels catered at events several times, but haven't actually been to their shop. I ordered a salt bagel with salmon cream cheese. My fiancé is vegan, so he ordered a whole wheat bagel with basil fava bean spread. Our bagels arrived toasted, which we hadn't asked for. Usually I like to get bagels un-toasted when they are fresh, though it was still good! I did like how much salmon was in the salmon cream cheese, and the bagels were good. I liked seeing them bake the bagels in the large wood fire oven at the front of the store. My fiancé was also a big fan of their drip coffee. The beans are sourced from a local micro roastery, was affordable, and a good simple cup of coffee.

To good to go bag!

This review is for the Too Good To Go surprise bag. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to have enough bagels for both the week and the freezer. This was my first time at Eltana and I personally like how the bagels are a little more manageable in size and that they're naturally a little sweeter. They were fresh with good chew! I liked the cinnamon raisin, whole wheat, and sesame the best. A couple min in the toaster was perfect. Set your expectations because the style is simply different than Ny style.

Rainbow bagel with red pepper walnut hummus
Vincent Y.

Their Bagel with cream cheese and lox was good, just not as good as the ones I've had in NYC. The bagel to lox ratio was off and definitely needed more of that smoked salmon. However, I did return a few days later and got a rainbow bagel which looked very cool and had their red pepper hummus with cucumbers on it and that was amazing. They have very tasty bagels, that are toasted to order.

When walking into this bagel shop you can see the workers hand rolling the bagels. The service was fast and the workers would easily help with recommendations or clarify anything on the menu. There was lots of seating and room to work or talk with others. The bagel itself was okay there was nothing outstanding but it hit the spot in a pinch. Overall would come back for the vibe and to try the different cream cheese flavors.

Lox Plate (1 of 3 identical pieces)
Skye P.

Anywhere you go for a bagel and lox in Seattle, it's going to be $12-20, averaging $16 or so in this area. But the quality/quantity truly varies, and of the many o' spots I've sought out the right one - eltana has shown to have the freshest ingredients and most reasonable amounts of food for the average pricey price ($15.75). The photo attached is just 1 of 3 almost identical pieces I assembled from what comes with the lox plate! It comes disassembled, but this was everything in the box split equally on each of the 3 provided bagel halves. This was with ~heavy shmear~ (no upcharge for that btw). It's simple - a great bagel, this homemade cream cheese of sorts, "fresh" smoked salmon, plentiful capers and pickled additions, and cucumbers. Note: this rating is for this menu item alone bc it's been a venture of mine, but happy to be able to report out in it!

Mozzarella turkey bacon sandwich
Megan L.

This is my second visit and the second time I've been left with the impression that the food rises merely to "okay". The bagel itself is fine. I got the egg, cheese, turkey bacon sandwich. It is dry and lacks flavor. The egg would be better if it were cooked less and more gently, with some salt. Mozzarella never has any flavor, so cheddar or something like Gouda would be a better choice. Turkey bacon may be better for my cardiovascular health, but it is a big disappointment for something with "bacon" in the name. Service was prompt and friendly. The interior has nice windows and is clean. The toilets are also acceptably clean.

Bagel with plain cream cheese
Kelly L.

Easy breakfast place! Came here for breakfast and we ordered two bagels with plain cream cheese and lox spread respectively, together with a chai latte. While we liked the bagels & drinks, it was also nothing out of the ordinary. We like how spacious the place is as well, making the dining experience very comfortable. The staff were also very nice and friendly - would recommend if you're looking for something easy for breakfast!

Being from NY, I was somewhat skeptical of "wood fired" bagels, but I thought these were really good! And they have many great spreads, too.

BEST BAGELS EVER…read more Wow. I will be dreaming about these perfect bagels for the rest of my life. We had 24 hours in Seattle and made sure to stop by this bagel spot after seeing it on Instagram. They were HEAVENLY. We got a dozen and got to try every flavor, but the sesame, everything, and the sea salt were top tier. They were crispy on the outside and perfectly soft and fluffy on the inside. They were not overly dense or chewy. They were just perfect. We loved the spicy jalapeño schmear, as well as just the plain schmear we got. It's hidden in a super cute residential area and feels super cozy. Service is also amazing. They are on it and tend to everyone quickly, so the line moves fast. Street parking was easy. The staff were welcoming and kind. There is no seating, and you will need to take your items to-go. The bagels are not sliced, and you can either rip and dip or slice them at home. I tried the plain, sea salt, sesame, and poppy bagels with scallion cream cheese. The bagels themselves are okay. The plain was my favorite, and the sea salt bagel was too salty for my preference. The chocolate chip cookie was absolutely incredible. It is definitely among the best in Seattle. The cookie had the perfect amount of sweetness, salt, and chocolate. It's definitely worth trying.

Hit and Miss. If…read moreyou try their freshly baked bagels (out of the oven within 30mins) then they are the best - soft, fluffy and flavorful, but if its been there on the shelf for couple of hours, then they are not that great - stretchy and too hard . Infact their staff also plays tricks, - especially one of their girls. Once I asked her if they are getting more of fresh bagels, she said no and gave me the bagels from the shelf. While giving me a bag, a new batch came out from the back, and so then she changed just 2 of the bagels, not all. Since this was my first time, I didn't really think much about this. For next few weeks I again went couple of times , some other people person were on the counter, who was gracious enough to always tell me that yes a new batch is coming up but I might have to wait for 10-15mins. I waited and every-time got warm bagels. After few weeks I again went, and the same first girl was there and I asked her the same question , she again said no, so I insisted if she can go back and check (it was just 9am only), she said it more firmly to me - "I am telling you there is no more fresh bagels coming in". So I took whatever she gave me from the shelf. While walking out , from the window I saw a big tray of fresh bagels came out. But since the line was long, I didn't want to get into the conversation with that girl, so I ignored it. This happened one more time recently as well. So not sure if that one particular girl didn't want to give me fresh ones or maybe she wants older bagels to sell before giving out fresher one, but since this happened 3 times, I am not impressed. I had also bought their bagels once from their pop-up market and it was also not that fresh. By the way, their small cafe has good ambiance if you want to sit there and enjoy their bagels and coffee right there. Whatever I write above, I will still keep coming back since they are my 2nd fav bagel shop in Seattle area.

On my most recent visit, I also tried the black sesame bagel with butter. It was good, but there was a bit more butter than I would have preferred, and the standard toast wasn't quite crispy enough for my liking. That's an easy fix though, and I'll just ask for it toasted a bit longer and less butter next time. I really love the location of this spot and am hoping to check out their other location soon. They share a great outdoor seating area with Sea Wolf Bakers and also have a small amount of indoor seating. There's usually a line on weekday mornings and a longer one on weekends, but it moves surprisingly quickly, so the wait has never felt unreasonable. One thing I especially appreciate is how light these bagels are compared to some other Seattle bagel shops. They have a great chew without feeling overly dense. Their bagels are fabulous as is their lox. For those, like me, who can unhinge their jaw for an authentic pastrami or corned beef masterpiece. Go with the "Ding sized" sandwich. They'll make a smaller Seattle sized version as well for those who don't treat deli as an indulgence of rye and meat piled high. I wish they'd add kreplach to the menu (sorry Vance. Just today I had the blintzes for the first time with their in house made cherry compote and sour cream. Amazing. Keep up the amazing work!!! My recommendation for newbies. Get the pastrami on marbled rye with gribenes and mustard. If you're feeling extra indulgent ask for a schmear of chopped liver, if you're keen on said. You won't regret it!
