They have some parking in front and in the back. Otherwise you'd need to street park like we did. It was definitely a mix of dress as well - some dressed in more business casual vibe while others (including me) dressed very casually (think shorts w/ slides).

The food was just like the reviewer had said: the pancakes were delicious and had a lemony taste to them, bacon was just like I like it, crisp but firm with a smoky flavor, roasted potatoes were firm and roasted to perfection and the added sea salt gave them that just right taste that lingers with you, but the star of the show was the Scallion biscuits. They were done to perfection from the texture to the taste and when you added your jam and butter to them, everything went to another dimension. Definitely will be one of my new brunch spots.

Parking is pretty adequate, especially for the Heights. Their lot is divided into three sections. The main entrance is through the uncovered patio. I didn't catch our server's name, but he was really nice and made good recommendations. The staff overall was super nice and very attentive. They did a great job of keeping water glasses full which I always appreciate. My friend and I both had the Paradise Smashburger and added Beef Tallow Fries. The burger had a double patty and it was so delicious! The patties had the crispy edges as a smashburger should and it was very filling and flavorful. The fries were good, especially with the aioli that we requested on the side. The food was amazing! The cocktails on the other hand fell a little short. I really wanted a Key Lime Pie Martini but they took it off the menu a few months ago so I ended up ordering The Houstonian. The Butterfly Pea infused gin caught my attention. What didn't catch my attention was the star anise. I don't really care for this spice and it had a prominent taste in the cocktail. I don't like to send drinks back so I kept it, but if I were to order it again, I would order it without the star anise because I enjoyed the other flavors in the drink. I also had the Pearadise with gin. I enjoyed the peach puree, but it was a bit tart. A little simple syrup would have helped to balance out the flavors. We decided to go here after catching a musical at The Hobby Center downtown. I didn't realize Good Good Nadine's was so close to me right behind Truth BBQ and across from HEB. It has plenty of parking. Unfortunately, the handicap spots seem to be behind the entrance than the front. The entrance is through the outdoor and covered patio. I made reservations just in case for indoor dining since it was raining, but when we got there, the inside was freezing since we were wet. We didn't know that there was a large covered patio. Most people sat in that area, so we sat in a side booth there instead. It was comfy like patio cushions. We opted for that instead of the iron seats. Service was great. We ordered the Paradise smashburgers (mine without shredded lettuce) and added the hand cut beef tallow fries ($19). I asked for the aioli on the side, as well. I thought the burger was great. The meat had great flavor and was juicy. I liked the pickles. Compared to other photos I've seen where it was too much bread, my burger had a great bun to meat ratio. I added some ketchup and the aioli. The fries were great, but I wish I didn't get the tiny or small bits of fries compared to my friend's full cut fries. They had two non-alcoholic drink options, and I tried them both. The strawberry refresher was made with Seedlip, housemade strawberry syrup, lime, and soda. I preferred this one over the Palm Springs one because it had better flavor. The Palm Springs has coconut water, cane syrup, pineapple, soda, and toasted coconut. It wasn't what I expected it to taste. It was bland and was mostly coconut water and soda. It lacked the pineapple flavor to add sweet and tart notes. It wasn't sweet at all and also didn't have toasted coconut on top. It had a tiny snippet of maybe the end of a pineapple leaf that was browning? Not good. I took it off. Sad to see this place go. It is pretty nice inside and out. I enjoyed the smashburger compared to Burger Bodega down the street. The NA drinks could use some more love. I wish I would've tried the bread pudding! Totally forgot and was also full.

I opted for the high top right by the kitchen, and honestly, great choice -- it smelled amazing. Most people prefer not to sit by the kitchen with all the foot traffic but I didn't mind it at all. Nobie's is a house that's been transformed into a restaurant. One of the bartenders told me it's a 104-year-old house, and the whole place has very "house party" vibes in the best way. The music is LOUD. And it gets progressively louder as the night goes on, so if that's not your vibe, keep that in mind. But I was very into it. Lil Flip was playing when I walked in and it took me back to high school house parties. On shuffle were more throwbacks and classics: Ludacris and "Notorious Thugs" by Biggie. The chairs, however, were not my favorite. They're low-backed and kind of cage-like, with only a thin cushion, so they aren't exactly the most comfortable for a long meal. Started with a cocktail: the Remolacha del Corazón -- beet tequila, mezcal, watermelon (house-made syrup), lime and a tajín rim. You can hardly taste the mezcal, which I'm assuming is the point. I like mezcal so it would have been nice to taste it but the beet tequila is definitely the star, with the watermelon and lime adding a nice balance. Appetizer: Don't Worry, Brie Happy ($18). Brie, local honey, smoked grapes, toast. There was basically no local honey on my plate, but those smoked grapes?! They're topped with flaky salt while they're still hot and OMG!! The combination of warm, smoky, sweet and salty was fantastic. My only complaint was the amount of toast. There was a little too much toast for the amount of brie and grapes, so the ratios felt slightly off. Main course: Jamón With Your Bad Self ($45). Ibérico secreto pork steak, tonnato, shaved Brussels sprouts, salsa verde and almonds. I'm particular about pork, so I was taking a bit of a chance here, but this dish sounded too interesting to pass up. The pork steak was cooked perfectly and had some wonderfully crispy pieces around the edges. The tonnato underneath the pork was really good. It almost reminded me of a Caesar dressing and added this rich, savory element to the dish. The shaved Brussels sprouts were great, too, especially with the almonds and Parmesan. Everything worked really well together. Dessert: Olive Oil Cake. A house staple, and for good reason. A lovely way to end the meal. Overall, Nobie's has a really fun, unpretentious energy. Between the old-house setting, loud music and memorable dishes, it feels like somewhere you go to hang out as much as you go to eat. Just know what you're getting into with the volume and the seating -- this is not exactly a quiet, polished fine-dining experience, and that's kind of the charm.

Ninety Nine Restaurants are well known in the Houston area. Reasonably priced good food and drink. Lots of bar and dining room seating, with plenty of flat screen TV's to give yo something to do after ordering. The menu favorite that keeps me coming back is the seafood chowder. Really tasty, nice and hot, perfect for a winter night. Always glad that I decided to go and happy that I went. my server tonight. Very attentive and helpful, but not pushy. Always nice when a restaurant succeeds because of its staff and not in spite of it. This location is about the same driving distance to the Washington area , location, but I prefer eating here. The pizza is thin crust, oven roasted. Service was a seamless, coordinated effort, and excellent.

The manager was kind enough to let me come in early and sit at the bar, which I really appreciated since I was working with a limited amount of time before heading back to the airport. I started with a cocktail, Champagne Colada, and was seated right away. For food, I ordered the caviar, octopus, Gulf oysters, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, and finished with the cherry gelato. Everything was really good, but those Yukon Gold mashed potatoes were especially memorable! I honestly wish I could have taken them with me, but I had to get back to the airport and knew they wouldn't make it through security. Service was welcoming, the atmosphere was relaxed and upscale, and the meal made my Houston layover feel like a mini outing instead of several hours spent sitting at the airport. Next time I'm back in Houston, Little's Oyster Bar will definitely be on my list to revisit.

But we took it up another notch and rented out their private upper room for my wife's birthday party last month. That was incredible. They handled all the details and were very accommodating. The space was comfortable for up to 20 people. We had a few kids in our group and they had great food options for them as well. Also since it was a private area, our kids could roam without bothering anyone else. We will definitely do more parties like this here in the future. In a nutshell...charming and cozy ambience, great Sake cocktail, ok food and service. The dining area is as if you walked into someone's cute, but modernish countryside cottage. Very inviting, and comfortable without being too casual. Our server was friendly enough but she didn't know her restaurants food or menu as well as one would have thought. When I asked what temp the duck breast was usually cooked to, she had no idea. Additionally, she was a little too eager to clear dishes before I was done. Again, very friendly, just not as "with it" as I would have expected. For HRW, I had the crawfish boulettes to start, the roasted duck as the main, and donut holes to finish. The boulettes were dense. Imagine taking the stuffing from Thanksgiving and compacting it down as much as you could, then batter and frying them. That's how they were like, but Cajun flavored. The duck was honestly even more disappointing. The flavors of the dish were very nice. But the duck, which our server finally confirmed was supposed to be cooked medium rare, was overly cooked to a well-done temp. Now if you do that, at least get the skin crispy. But no, the skin was limp and flaccid. The whole dish was two small pieces of duck...you wouldn't think it would be difficult to crisper the skin before sending. The savior of the night was the donut holes. Get them. Don't hesitate. Just get them. They were delicious. My wife's cauliflower starter and Greek fish were very tasty. Her Tahini cheesecake was less so. Overall I enjoyed the flavors enough to try another time. I just hope the food and service execution will be a bit better.

The green onions really bring out the rest of the flavors. - Ratatouille: this was one of our server's recommendations. I thought it was pretty good but slightly too sour/over-pickled for me. (I'm also not a big pickle person) - Butternut squash: This was probably the next best dish after the toast and broth. All the flavors and texture were there except the squash was a little hard. It could've been cooked a little longer to make it easier to cut through. I guess it is out of season, but still. - Squab aka pigeon: Also pretty good. The dried raspberries actually pair very well with it. Ambiance: 4/5 - The space is extremely small so you really need reservations. - It's so small that the tables are quite close together. But they were also not evenly spaced out so we tried to move our table away from the people next to us (we were practically touching!) and the staff insisted that we don't move them because they need to access the cutlery in the drawer on the side of the table?? First of all, they could've still accessed it after we moved the table. Second, if the space is that tiny, why not just store the utensils elsewhere? Very odd and didn't like that vibe.

It was perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft and hot on the inside. Honestly, I would come back just for the bread. We started with the tuna tartare, which unexpectedly reminded me of dumplings. While it wasn't bad, because of the flavor, it kind of reminded me of raw dumplings, which threw me off a little. The octopus, however, was great. It was tender, though my personal preference would have been for a little more char. We visited on a Monday night to take advantage of the half-off Wagyu special. They bring the steak out on a cutting board and light a stem of sage to smoke the meat before slicing it table side. It was cooked just how I liked it, medium rare, where it's still pink and tender but not bloody. It was a fantastic presentation, and the truffle fries were a great side. To finish, we ordered the crème brûlée because the lychee foam and rose cream intrigued me. It was served outside of the traditional ceramic dish, which was a first for me, but it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely order it again. Service was incredibly friendly and water refills were prompt. It is definitely pricier, but we had an overall wonderful time and left stuffed.
