All I can say is WOW!!! Came through a few weeks ago and we asked for recommendations as you should at a restaurant of this caliber. We were recommended the Thai Chile Ribs as well as the T.C. Turkey Club and DAMN!!!! The level of flavor on the ribs was mind numbing! All of the flavors on the T.C. Turkey Club marry perfectly together with each other. This place is a no brainer!!! We were going to have Sunday lunch at another place, but didn't realize we needed reservations, so we went to Elliot's Table instead. What a serendipitous experience- Everything we ordered was delicious! The octopus was super tender, the fried coating was light, crispy, not at all greasy, and the sauces/pico relish it came with perfectly complemented it. My only complaint is it only came with two pieces, so order several orders if you're sharing. I could just eat that and be happy. The roasted oysters with Gorgonzola and salted pork was tasty and not overwhelmingly Gorgonzola-y (you know what I mean). I could still taste the integrity and sweetness of the oyster, which I appreciated. My bf's chicken fried steak was enormous and made with quality beef. The shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had in Houston. Spiced and well balanced- not just cheese grits plopped on a plate with shrimp on top like other places. It came with a gumbo like broth which was just incredible with the grits- I savored every bite. We're going to need to check out their dinner service next time. Service was great and friendly. We sat inside, but I it seems like they have a lovely patio spot on the side as well. Heads up: they are only open for dinner during the week, and offer lunch and dinner on Saturday/Sunday. read more

This is our absolute favorite restaurant in Houston! The staff is so friendly, efficient, and attentive. This menu is so hand-crafted and delicious. It changes with season and new, fresh ideas. Love that. Any time that we have clients or friends or family that we have in town, we send them there and they are never disappointed. We are blown away by the innovative cuisine each time. My husband and I came a few months ago on our anniversary and have been coming back regularly ever since. The food is amazing (Elliot, you're a genius!), the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is cozy but still feels very high-end. I'm all about supporting local businesses, and Elliot's Table is definitely one that deserves your support! They get these delicious cinnamon pecan pastries from a local bakery and they are SOOO good. In terms of sides, the sweet potatoes are delicious, the Brussel sprouts are charred to perfection, and the cucumber tomato salad is the epitome of what a balanced salad should be. P. S. My mom and I had a wonderful meal at Elliot's Table! The service was excellent, and the food was delightful. The Pork Belly was divine, and the Cucumber & Tomato salad was one of the best things we've ever eaten. We also had the Cheddar Burger - it was cooked perfectly! So juicy and had the best sauce/onion jam! My mom and I have not been out to many restaurants due to COVID, but we felt super safe and confident eating at Eliot's Table. I went to Elliots for brunch. I was disappointed as they didn't really have a brunch menu. I settle for the chorizo breakfast tacos. I was disappointed because they didn't have eggs in them, but they tasted good. I felt like they were not worth the price as breakfast tacos should be over $3 a piece. My wife could find anything that appealed to her for breakfast, so she ordered the burger and loved it. I think I am going to need to come back for dinner. It didn't live up to my expectations for a brunch spot, but I will come back for dinner. read more

Went here on Friday night for a 7:30 reservation for 4. We were seated immediately. Staff was friendly and talkative, and we got to view each dish leaving the kitchen. Great appetizers - highly recommend the oysters and the fried brussel sprouts! Our favorite entree was the lamb lollipops. The interior is small and the music was fun but loud. Wine selection is good too and fairly priced... okay let's talk about the FOOD! Please try the mussels, they are delectable. The portion is plenty for two ppl to share. The sauce is buttery and has a little kick, which I was pleasantly surprised by. Also, just throw your non-carb diet out the window and do the BREAD SERVICE! They have a unique selection of buttery spreads, that mixed with warm bread. Ahhhh :) Try any of their salads and I assure you, you have not experienced a salad the way they make them. We also ordered the duck, yeah I know, new to me, but It was delicious. We dined on a Friday night with our 9 month baby. We dined early, made a reservation, and received excellent service. Here is a plus! This is a locally owned business, where the chef and one other person are preparing each meal. (The chef is the owner) When ordering be prepared to place your appetizer and entree order at once, this helps ensure your meals are prepared timely. If you've tried this place and it didn't meet your expectations, give it another go. We truly left in ahhh with our food and our overall experience. This night there were two servers who were on-top of servicing all tables with care. This place will definitely be saved on my top favorite Houston restaurants. Took my girlfriend here and we had a positive experience. Staff was friendly. Food was great. Environment was also pleasant. Only downside is that some tables (particularly the tables for two) are very close quarters. Meaning you may be shoulder to shoulder with a couple next to you. Packed on a Friday evening. Blue cheese Brussels sprouts were excellent; Lamb chops were small but delicious, a bit over cooked ( medium though asked for medium repair). Club sandwich good with a huge helping of heavily salted fries. Pork shop and blue cheese grits very good - chop tasted super but it wasn't as big as i expected. This is one of my favorite newcomers to the Houston restaurant scene. Farm to table with an extra dose of creativity. We've had pork chops and lamb chops - highly recommend. All of their cuts of meat, including the lamb shank just kept coming out of the kitchen. We had the octopus appetizer which was so tender (no idea how they get it this soft) you couldn't even tell it was octopus. Mac and cheese - perfectly gooey. The guys that run this place are great with suggestions and we love the open kitchen and being able to drool over everything coming out. Our new go-to for out of town guests. Only down side - small and hard to get into without a reservation..but worth the risk. read more

Dinner here was stellar ! Had the oysters and the butchers cut, both of which were delicious - the sides were kinda meh but the steak was good enough to make up for it. Be willing to wait a long time for a table if you show up from 7 onwards, you'll be sat quicker if in a smaller party. Dessert was a slice of chocolate peppermint cake (coma inducing ) and large enough to share . It was fine but I probably wouldn't order it again - I was hoping for a lighter option like a flan /pudding / ice cream etc . All in all, I'd highly recommend it. Cute little dinner spot. It's nice to have in the neighborhood. It's a small place so not a lot of tables and probably not the best for large groups. We went in at 8:30 and there were a few tables open but they also were out of a couple of their starter plates so next time we'll be going earlier. We ordered a bottle at a reasonable price at the recommendation of our waiter and it was delicious. Started off with the Thai chili ribs were just amazing and a large portion for the two of us. We then ordered the shrimp and grits and 5 jumbo shrimp grilled with a side of the sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes. We really enjoyed the flavors and the portion was perfect. Lastly we had a piece of the pecan pie with ice cream on top. It was the perfect way to end our meal. I definitely recommend coming here! Can't wait to come back and try more dishes! read more

Stopped by today on the first day of soft opening to check out Elliot's in Cottage Grove (I live in the neighborhood, so I couldn't wait to try it) and had the Cheddar Burger because, in my opinion, the burger will tell me everything I need to know. My mind was blown with satisfaction!!! The place has been remodeled and it has a simple and elegant enough atmosphere, dimmed lights and that feel of local that you can't buy. I had my food to go, so I ordered at the counter and after a short wait I was on my way home with the prize. The bun is a gourmet soft bread yet toasty around edges (or something magic like that, that I don't understand :), the meat was very tasty but not salty, juicy and pink at the center MAGNIFICENT, the vegetables were fresh a definitely good quality ingredients, even the pickle was damn good. The fries were very good too, on the darker side, which I enjoy the most. Anyways, I am so excited to have Elliot's in the neighborhood. Highly recommend that y'all go try it and support them! AMAZING burger, service needs help. Came here because the reviews said the burger was life changing and it almost is. But the service, while friendly,is inept and the small place is overwhelmed by the dinner rush. My husband ordered the ribs (technically an appetizer) for dinner and I ordered the burger. We clearly told the server this. His ribs came out a full THIRTY minutes before the burger. #1 The server should have told the kitchen that both items should come out at the same time. #2 it shouldn't take 45 minutes for a burger to come out in a 10 table place. Also, don't expect much from the fries. And don't order the pecan pie. read more

We made a reservation for two and were promptly seated. Restaurant is overly nicely decorated for the strip center space it occupies. Servers are knowledgeable and eager to please...definitely a winning combination. The menu is a pleasant mix of the chef and staff's original ideas and influenced by current and cool interpretations for presenting the mostly local ingredients. All dishes we tried were very competently prepared and presented. Starters are absolutely meant to be shared. The compressed water melon salad was fantastic with attention to details that were astounding. The Brussels sprouts were deliciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. One of us had the mussel appetizer and we were thrilled by its tasty wine sauce... good enough to be served as a soup. My entre and a star contributor that night was the snapper vermillion that included a medley of fresh vegetables individually prepared, attractively arranged upon which a perfectly prepared large snapper filet regally perched. The wine list was also original to this Restaurant with a good variety and a range of values. We chose a domestic (Red Mtn. Ca.) Mourvèdre which paired nicely with all our selections. Wow completely still in shock,I been to Elliots multiple times, every time the food and service is amazing. I always recommend it to business partners or whoever is in Houston visiting that I know of, however I trying dining tonight didn't have a reservation so we sat there and wait for 45min np. I dont mind waiting because I enjoy this place. So I was sitting outside, waiting for our table. I decided to use the restroom so I figured the restroom was outside. Around corner to the left for some reason. I see a door that looks like a restroom door to me and I tried going in there but it was a storage. Elliot was seating on a table outside. Start accusing me And Treat me like sht. I try to explain to him that I'm looking for restroom and that Im waiting for my table But I wasn't going to get nowhere with him. This little gem in the Heights was a great discovery. We had driven past several times, and stopped in last night. The food was amazing! We hear "farm to table" so often these days that it has become irrelevant. But the young man at the table next to us actually has a small produce farm in the area that supplies Elliot's Table with much of their produce. Wow! The salad (tomatoes, arugula and cucumbers) and sides (asparagus, Brussel sprouts and carrots) tasted liked they were picked that morning! This is the place to have the most elaborate family-style cooking dinner you can think of. Everything is made with the right seasoning, nuances, flavor and texture assembly, and it comes in massive portions! This is where your tastebuds will experience smokey, juicy, tender, peppery, light, creamy, all at the same time. If your grandma was a michelin-star chef this is what she would cook at a family gathering. The wine we tried was not so good for the price, but food and service easily make up for this!
