This is one of our go-to restaurants in U Village. I love that they have artisan pizza and they actually offer non-diary cheese (I think it's Daiya). The atmosphere is a little loud and they are often crowded, but we have never had a problem getting a table for 2 or even for 4. One time, however, we arrived at like 6pm and they told us they were all out of pizza for the night! Huh? How does that happen? A pizza place with no pizza? Apparently, they got slammed by a huge group and all the night's pizza dough got used early. Other than that experience, we have only had good experiences here. My only complaint is that the prices seem a bit high... about $15-16 on average for a 14-inch pizza pie... add an extra $2 for the Daiya, and you're looking at a very pricey pizza. Elemental Pizza hits all the right notes and considering they just opened they are way ahead of the curve. So happy to see a legit wood fired pizza joint in the village! I have been in twice and both experiences more than exceeded my expectations. So far I have tried about 1/3 of the menu and I must say I appreciate they keep it focused and not try and offer a gazzilion choices. These are the items I have tried so far. I would recommend them all. Fire Roasted Broccolini: Simple, delicious and fast! It will be cool to see what other small plates they can produce out of those ovens. Antipasto Plate: Nice selection of artisan cheeses, Zoe's spicy salumi(killer!), generous portion of proscuitto, housemade breadsticks, all good quality Fresh Burrata: Buttery and creamy goodness:) Beet Salad: The dressing made the salad here. Nice balance of acid and sweet to compliment the radicchio/arugula, and the blue cheese was soft and rm temp as it should be. yum. Rocket House Salad: Arugula was super fresh, not over dressed and seasoned just right. Again, simple and executed perfectly. Caesar: As it is so typical, the most important question would be, is theirs worthy to order again. Answer is yes. Nice bite in the dressing with round flavor and fresh, still warm croutons. Now to the Pies: Margherita: Like a Caesar, you better get this right. And they did. Right amount of char on edges of crust, balanced sauce, creamy mozz, bright basil, drizzle of olive oil and salt. Justice served. Yukon Gold: This pie had a particularly nice aroma when it hit the table. Wafts of rosemary and pecorino went well with the my pint of Manny's. Crimini and Friends: Fantastic!!!! The Elemental: Great blend of spicy coppa, kale and smoked mozz. Simple olive oil base and fresh tomatoes made this probably my favorite of all. Service both times was attentive, well educated and best of all sincere(no cheese). Clearly the employees seem excited to be there and well aware they have an opportunity to be busy all the time. So white sauce is on the menu but apparently they don't offer it anymore. Would be nice if the menu was updated! Considering some people can't have red sauce. Also, the menu on yelp is not updated to the actual menu in the restaurant so when you call in to make an order to go it's a bit annoying because now you have to re think what you want. read more

I went back to give this place another try per management's request. As promised, they've fixed the red sauce to be less smoky and all is right in my book. It's just a tiny bit tart with just the right amount of sweet. I'll probably be back to gobble one of their salads. The table next to me ordered two and they looked colorful and delicious. This pizza is the most similar pizza to the pizza I had in Italy that I've found in the United States. Great, authentic wood-fired pizza. There are great topping assortment options. We've had the four cheese, margherita, and primo pesto- all were great! And for dessert, make your own ice cream sandwich. Awesome!! The service was also really good. It was busy the night we came and we had to wait about 30 minutes. I highly recommend their happy hour if you want their pizza but don't want to pay the price. They only have a few options, but we've gotten the margherita and four cheese at happy hour ($7 and $8 respectively). Happy hour is only in the bar where seating is limited and runs from 4 - 6 PM every day. At regular hours, their prices are a bit high, about $10-14 for a pizza. Not awful, but not super grad student budget friendly. Also, I'm picky about beers (largely prefer Hefeweizens) and they didn't have anything I liked. Not the end of the world, but does make happy hour just a bit less appealing! read more

Pizza is very good. Got the Truffle Mushroom and added sausage per recommendation on menu. (Brings total to $18.50 pre tax). Kind of expensive for a personal sized pizza in my opinion, but it was very good. Went back a second time and got Classic Pepperoni and it was good, but no where near as good as the first pizza - and still about $15 for a personal pie. They do game day happy hours and have good TV set up. Happy hour is only good for select menu which does not include the pizzas (they offer a $15 Jalapeño Pooper Pizza on the happy hour menu). All in all quality is good, ambiance is good so they get 4 stars. Took one off due to relative expense for pizza. Worth going if your in the area. read more

First, I will be clear that I LOVE Elemental Pizza. Since they opened, I have eaten here a couple dozen times and have observed their management in 1:1's with their team and complimented their leadership. I love the quality of the food. So here is my issue: Elemental imposes a "parent tax" on their Happy Hour. Many times I have enjoyed Happy Hour pizza's in their bar area, but tonight--when visiting with children--the same offers and pricing is not available when dining in their main area. I even escalated my request to the manager, and was denied. I will not ponder on about the shortsightedness of this policy. Rather, I will frequent other exceptional venues as Tutta Bella with my kids where "parent taxes" are not required. read more

I didn't even have time to order before I was addressed poorly. After waiting fifteen minutes alone, a group that had just walked in was seated almost immediately. When asked, they said that they couldn't seat two people in a table that better served four. If it weren't 20 degrees and we needed to wait by the door that was constantly being opened, maybe I wouldn't have minded. I've experienced bad service like this, but the hostess talking about our complaint to another customer IN FRONT of me is what really tipped me off. Too bad they closed the Tacoma restaurant, now it's a Zeeks Pizza (probably more Tacoma's style). Crust is excellent, the sauce and cheese paired to perfection. Truly a well thought out design and production process! Dough Ingredients: flour, water, yeast with 3 day fermentation. Oven temp about 650F- They give you raw dough to play with while you wait for the 'za. I was really excited to see this pizza shop moved in at U Village. I really disliked the Grace Kitchen which previously occupied the space. This dislike was magnified in the severe lack of vegetarian options on the menu. Now Elemental Pizza has great décor it is kind of modern with the tall tables and booths along the back wall. The space is really brightly lit which is nice. They also have a bar along prep station, behind glass, to watch the chefs make the pizzas. This looked like a fun place to sit if you're not with a group. We ordered the Yukon Gold and Margherita pizzas. There personal pizza is easily enough food for two people. The Yukon Gold pizza is divine. All three of us bit in to this pizza and just made sounds of bliss. Not I LOVE potatoes...I mean seriously LOVE potatoes, but never would have put them on a pizza. This pizza had potatoes, rosemary, olive oil, and cheese. It was so perfectly balanced. The Margherita pizza was just alright. It was exactly what you expect, but not really mind blowing. The restaraunt does host a small bar and they have a decent selection of cocktails from what I read. I ordered a hard cider and tap which was really good and set me back $5. If you're a cider fan I would give it a try. The service we received was really prompt. I liked our server and felt she was really friendly. They take their orders on ipads which I personally like as it makes it easier on the server and instantly communicates with the kitchen. This means the server doesn't have to run to the kitchen every order and can fill drink orders and such. I know this modern touch makes people uncomfortable, but in our changing tech world this will probably become more and more popular option for order taking. I really like Elemental Pizza. This place is a hub for parents of small children and preteens who are trying to get a night out while also entertaining the kids. The entire place is completely packed with pre-teens sitting at their own tables with parents either next to them or somewhere else in the mall having some time to themselves. I like that it's a safe, comfortable place where you can drop off your kid and their friends and know they're going to get something ok to eat and have a good time. I also like that their pizza is a little step up from the normal chain stuff. My boyfriend and I ordered a Caesar salad and quattro formaggio pizza. The salad was pretty good! Shaved parmesan and nice crunchy croutons with crisp romaine slathered in Caesar dressing. The pizza was not as exciting--honestly, the flavor was strikingly similar to canned spaghettios--but it wasn't terrible. I can definitely see the benefits to such a place being available. It's not really a place for foodies, but it is both kid and parent friendly, and if I were trying to keep my kid and myself happy on a Saturday night, I'd definitely utilize this resource. read more

Somewhat disappointed. My boyfriend and I had the caprese salad and the "fun guy" pizza. The caprese uses shredded mozzarella, which was super dry and doesn't taste like mozzarella at all. The "fun guy" pizza has just several piece of mushroom and cherry tomatoes. The crust is no doubt pretty good, comparable to the pizza I have had in Italy, but the toppings and presentation was very not impressive at all. However, the service was very good: we waited for a long time for the pizza, which turned out to have been baked not to perfection due to the dough; but our server decided to give us the not-so-good pizza to nibble on while he gave us the 2nd pizza on the house. That definitely made our dining experience slightly better. on a side note, I went to Pallino the day before with my parents. The pizzas there have double the amount of toppings, taste better and only cos like t half the price ($7.95 vs $14)... Service is not always consistent especially once your food has arrived, I often have to track people down for refills or for the bill. A new restaurant in U Village. I had never been there before and decided to try it on a whim. As a big pizza fan, I'm pretty picky about my pizza. This place is great! We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but you got to expect that with a place as new and popular as this one. Once we were seated, we ordered within 5 minutes and the pizza came out in less than 10. Wood oven pizza is my favorite, and this pizza was delicious. Charred, but not burnt, gooey cheese, great crust. Perfection. I've eaten here before and have always enjoyed the food and service. My advice after todays lunch? Buyer beware. We had a group slightly larger than eight diners and per their policy I was fully aware about the automatic 18% surcharge for groups larger than eight. Perfectly fine by me. I know larger groups require more work When the check came, I asked and the server assured me the surcharge (gratuity) had already been added to the total. When I received my receipt via email later in the day, I noticed an additional 18% "additional gratuity" was added. I'm glad I asked for a receipt at all. I typically don't because I trust everything is in order. The server was deceptive at best, and downright dishonest at worst. Congratulations. She got over on a customer today and got herself an extra 18% gratuity. But because of her actions, she just ensured that this business has lost a repeat customer for life. Never again. My Ecuadorian friend was in town, we were gonna go to The Ram but the wait time was so long so we decided to walk over to Elemental Pizza, surprisingly, we didn't have to wait to long to get a table there. The restaurant has a nice casual environment, it's definitely a good place to catch up with friends. My friend ordered the Carnivorous and I ordered the Truffled Mushroom, the toppings on both pizza were flavorful and delicious, the crusts were perfectly cooked, we totally enjoyed the truffled mushroom pizza, my friend liked it so much that he ate half of my truffled mushroom pizza. read more

Ok so I have a love hate relationship with this place, the food is pretty great, every time I go I get their meat lovers pizza and sub out the salami for the spicy one which is amazing. However, the service is lacking a lot. I wanted to get some bread before my food came out, 20 min later no bread, after asking again the server had it out in about 10 seconds, it wasn't even particularly busy. Now usually I wouldn't really care but it has happened every time I go there. The drinks are OK, as a bartender I appreciate a well done cocktail but their drinks are not amazing. The one I had was so incredibly pulpy I couldn't believe it. Some might like it that way but I'm not a fan, I can deal with a bit of pulp but this was beyond your every day bit of muddling. It's flavor was lackluster and the other ones just didn't look really great. The one my mom ordered wasn't amazing either so that is 0 for 2, order a beer instead. If I were you I'd order to go, if you don't you will end up waiting a long time and having to deal with the crappy waitstaff. read more

This pizza has set the bar for every pizza I will eat moving forward!! We had the signature Elemental and the Yukon Gold. Some words that come to mind to describe the taste: beautiful, not over-bearing but lovely, and freakin' delicious!!! So much more than eating pizza, were talking a pizza experience!!! The service was AMAZING and the atmosphere and design was warm and gorgeous. I hope they find ways to really make the statement that Elemental is not jus a pizza place by adding fabulous veggie apps and perhaps infuse seasonal guest inspired featured pizza.
