We spent the day shopping at University Village and stopped in to get a late lunch. The decor is beautiful and the customer service is amazing. Our waitress was super friendly and fast. Food came out fast and hot. I can't rave about the food, but it wasn't bad either. My chicken sandwich had way too much Caesar dresser in it. Luckily my meal came with a salad, so I just removed the chicken from the sandwich and put it in my salad. The Margarita pizza had a lot of sauce too. Elemental Pizza place is a great pizza place in University Village. It can be crowded and they do not take reservations. The interior is bright and clean. Service was very good. They have a moderate alcohol list, but there were a couple of good beer choices. We started with the burrata and everyone loved it, great tomatoes. I did the make my own pizza option with tomato sauce, mozzarella, sausage, green peppers and, onions (you can pick three). The 12" pizza is a big meal for one person (but perfect for me), but others could certainly split it. The pizza was very good. It features a nice thin crust and good tomato sauce. The vegetables were fresh and I liked the sausage. Others in party enjoyed the pizza as well. Then someone ordered the spaghetti and meatballs--nothing special, but good. We ordered two pizzas Quattro Formaggi and Green Goddess, half portion of a Big Chop salad, and roasted cauliflower with hot buffalo sauce. With the exception of the cauliflower (very meh; wouldn't order again) everything was delicious. The pizzas had the perfect chewiness and were cooked to perfection. Whenever my family is shopping in University Village, we stop for food at Elemental. We love that it's always easy to get seated and when we came in today the restaurant was clean and we were seated when we entered. A small caesar salad and a carnivorous pizza are our go-to orders here. We were disappointed by the croutons in our salad, most of them were soft with a stale flavour, but not all of them. The rest of the salad was delicious though and I love how much extra parmesan they add on top. The carnivorous pizza was also incredible. It is a little oily, but flavourful. I just wish they put more pepperoni on the pizza, it looks like it was only put on one half of the pizza with the other side pretty bare. My little sister ordered the rustic sandwich with potato and sausage soup. She loved both dishes, but thought the chunks of potato in the soup could have been in smaller pieces that were easier to eat. Our server was super friendly, but she didn't mention anything to us about the restaurant's happy hour which according to their website is everyday from 3-6. Elemental Pizza is a popular pizza shop in the bustling university village shopping center. Every time I stop by I saw lots of people dining in, so my boyfriend and I decided to finally give them a try. Since they're located inside Uvillage, they have a lot of parking spots available, but the plaza itself can get pretty crowded so be warned! Inside the restaurant gives off a classic yet modern aesthetic with both bar, booth, and table seating available. It's pretty spacious inside making it a good spot for group gatherings. Our server was very quick to take care of us and she even gave us lots of recommendations when it came to sizing and portion sizes for 2! We ended up getting the small Caesar salad and 1 green goddess pizza which was still a lot of food for 2 people! The pizza was so delicious and hearty and it was definitely super filling even for a non meat pizza! The Caesar salad was also the perfect take on a classic Caesar. Great spot for reliably good meal. I almost always get The Big Chop salad with chicken breast. It's like summer in a bowl. The meatball appetizer is quite large and my daughter usually gets it as an entree. The Smokey sauce is delectable. Honestly, I don't know why this place has such bad reviews. It's one of my go-to spots in University Village because it's not astronomically expensive and the food is consistently good quality. The only downside is the service--it's very hit or miss. Sometimes the waitstaff is super attentive, and other times they're not, but I've never had an issue with the food, even when the service isn't great. One thing to note is that the food can sometimes take a while to come out. I used to work in University Village for four years during college, and I'd often come here on my lunch break. There were times when I didn't have enough time to eat because it took so long for the food to arrive. If you're not in a rush, though, it's great. I've had their pasta, sandwiches, and salads, and I've never had any complaints about the food. We went there on a weekend and somehow we managed to get a parking spot near the place. This is one of the reasons we don't come here often. Parking is crazy. Waiting, lines, or you have to park on second floor at the opposite part of the store you're visiting. Crowdy. Anyway, we had a stroller so we entered from behind near the restrooms (which are part of the mall). You have to go to the main entrance to get seated. It wasn't a problem. I've never given a 1 star to a place where food was decent, but I had a horrible experience with the staff. Clearly most of the people who work here don't want to work here. They make no effort to be courteous. Our waiter at least tried, but the hostess did not have to roll her eyes at us or throw our menus on the table. Our pizza was served by another person who just slid it on the table without a word. The pizzas were ok; tough and dry, but tasted fine. Still, tough pizza is NOT good. But the difference between choosing to have a pizza at $20 each from here vs Zeek's, Little Caesar's, Tuta Bella's or anywhere else would be for the ambience. That test was clearly failed. Went here on a Thursday evening. Our experience was less than subpar. It was not super busy. Took forever to even get service after we were sat down. Our server seemed over it and just did not care. We ordered 2 individual pizzas and a wedge salad. Order came out super quick. The wrong salad was brought out. Remade salad did not come until we were half way through dinner. The wedge salad was not a wedge salad, looked like bagged iceberg lettuce and it was drowning in dressing. There was a pool of it at the bottom. Also the dressing was so sweet we took one bite and couldn't continue and it left an awful after taste. The pizzas were delicious. Which gives it one more star than the 1 I would have left. We ordered one Carnivorous pizza, a small Caesar salad, and two glasses of wine. The 'tomato sauce' on the pizza had no flavor or seasoning, the crust was tough, the meat was dry and hard. We both struggled to cut the pizza with a knife. The Caesar salad was flavorless. The food didn't tasted fresh. To put it frankly, the food was mediocre and overpriced. Don't waste your money. There are too many other really good local pizza restaurants. I think the only reason this restaurant is busy is because of its location in University Village, and not its food. The girl just rolled her eyes and said " fine", with a look and attitude that anyone who's had a 14yo daughter would know. The pizza here is similar to Mod - fairly small and thin that you can eat one yourself. Sharing's always great of course, so no pressure finishing it alone. My friend mentioned the pasta here was really good but because it's Elemental Pizza, I had to try the pizza on my first visit. The pasta menu is also quite limited (4 options) but smaller menus are always great. I opted for the Carnivorous and was satisfied. There was a nice cheese pull, relatively thin but there's not too much cheese on the thin crust so it was fair. With that point, I'd love if there was a thicker crust option to pile more cheese on. We had a good experience, I would come back since their pizza was pretty good (slightly better than MOD imo). The pesto pasta wasn't really anything special despite its price, and it came with two really plain looking toast. I tell her there's a reservation under my name or my mothers, and she says "we don't take reservations" and I said "oh, I was told I had one since someone else called..." and then she tells me "NO RESERVATIONS!" and I had to apologize since she seemed so bothered by it.. we should've left then but we had no other ideas of where to go. Our server was a nice guy but we ended up being at this restaurant for such a long time due to how slow our food came out, and the need to ask for napkins or drinks took forever because we had to literally catch our server in order to get anything. The pizza wasn't even great. Nobody in my family really liked it at all. Please don't waste your time coming here.
