The next day I received a call to confirm my appointment and problem I was having. A repair technician came by in the scheduled appointment window. Jair was my technician and did a great job. When he entered my home he wore shoe covers and was respectful of my home. We discussed the issue I was having with my AC unit. He quickly took a look at my unit and was able to diagnose the issue. He thoroughly explained why it wasn't working and provided me 3 options to consider for repair. He was not pushy to make a sale and answered all the questions I had. I eventually selected which option for repairs and he quickly was able to repair the issue. He tested the unit and everything seemed to work properly. I haven't used my AC unit yet but anticipate it will work when I need it. Jair did a great job and I will use AIS in the future!

Their estimate was competitively priced; it was neither the cheapest nor the priciest., but all things considered, SDI seemed to offer the best value for our money. Follow up email from Charlotte Fontanilla stated the Support Team suggested a visit to my residence for further assessment. She stated she would let me know when a service appointment could be finalized. Didn't hear anything and honestly I forgot about it until January. Called again in January and supposedly Charlotte was pretty good at NOT following up with customers according to person I spoke with. Well the response was better this time. They came out and tested "installed modules" and submitted claim on my behalf with Canadian Solar. That claim was denied but after consulting with SolarEdge they identified that it was related to the optimizers rather than the solar panels themselves. Optimizers were replaced and now different panels are not working properly. After back and forth for 4 more months now it's the panels that are bad BUT not bad enough to warranty. Very interesting. I'm hoping someone in the company with integrity will read this and fix the situation. When I purchased my solar from West Coast Solar I was told and I quote "you got bumper to bumper 25 year warranty everything is covered". Well apparently it isn't.

All that to say as long as you never ever ever need to reach out to them for literally anything, you'll have a great experience. Otherwise, its a nightmare. After installation it took 6 - 8 weeks of constant emails and phone calls multiple times per week to get them to resolve the installation issue (circuits missing off the backup loop) and correct my storage profile for charge/discharge. Trying to get their help both times after that has been equally atrocious, and with my system currently down I emailed the, and opened a ticket on their website (where both their phone numbers are non active) and it took another week to get a response. At this point i'd say 2 years feels consistent enough to say 4/5 stars on install and installers, 0/5 stars on customer service.

However, crawlspaces can get moldy and wet from lack of care. If you ever encounter rodents, there is a good chance they came via the crawlspace. After all, we do hear noises at night at times, which is creepy. Jacob visited and gave a comprehensive review and estimate. We basically went for a full package of rodent control, cleaning, and installing a new vapor shield to keep it dry. The while job took maybe 2.5 days with a crew of 3 workers each day. Outstanding quality work. First phase was sealing up the homes around the house and crawlspace, and laying traps. The attic was inspected too. This was followed up with weekly followups to ensure no more rodents. This scope was subcontracted to Golden State Critter Control. Highly recommend working with Greg. The next two phases involve cleaning and eventually reinstallation of the vapor shield. Compared to what we had before, it was day and night! I also appreciated the crew alerting me to a leaky drain pipe. I later worked with a plumber to replace a cracked 3"D drain pipe that connected upstairs to downstairs. It was fixed in about 3 hours with two plumbers. Definitely recommend Crawlspace Clean for rodent control and crawlspace cleaning. 5 stars.

The main issues boil down to three things: excessive pricing, sub-par workmanship, and a very short warranty period. About a year ago, I discovered a bad rodent infestation. Looking for a quick solution, I made the mistake of hiring Crawl Space Clean without getting multiple bids. I spent over $14,000 on rodent-proofing and subfloor insulation replacement, only for the rodents to return. When I called them back, I was informed that my one-year warranty had already expired. They charged me extra just to patch entry holes they had missed during the initial job. During that same visit, they claimed I now needed a vapor barrier, quoting me an astronomical $16,000--though they offered a high-pressure "$500 discount" if I signed the contract that very day. Feeling suspicious, I finally did what I should have done at the start and called three other highly rated contractors for estimates. Every single one of them came back with quotes under $7,600 (less than half of Crawl Space Clean's price), and all of them included a 3-year rodent warranty. Furthermore, the contractor I ultimately hired to install the vapor barrier pointed out that the subfloor insulation previously installed by Crawl Space Clean had inadequate support and was already sagging. Learn from my expensive lesson: always get multiple bids, and avoid this company.

He identified entry points where rodents were getting into the crawl space, explained that the air ducts did not need to be replaced, and instead recommended insulating the rafters, reinsulating the attic floor, and cleaning and reinsulating the crawl space. Element Power Systems did an awesome job with our solar system, so we just had to write a review. This is only our second review we have ever written. The first was for the real estate broker we used to buy our house. We settled on a solar system sized just right with Panasonic 330 watt panels. The system uses Enphase micro inverters and a combiner panel in our garage which houses the necessary sensors and computer (wirelessly connected to our Wi-Fi) for real time panel and system monitoring reachable from anywhere on our smart phones. My husband and I did a lot of research for the best solar panels and components. My husband is a high-tech guy. He is good with electrical/electronic and mechanical gadgets. He found a variety of panels and components that would work well for us. Then, it was time to find a solar company to provide us with the materials and the installation. I am a CPA/Lawyer and VERY detail oriented, so it was my job to find the right solar company. This system was a cash purchase. This eliminated lots of unnecessary complexities. It eliminated the middleman. It provided extra flexibility for component selection, for scheduling, for pricing and especially for the terms of the contract. We were not looking for any unusual component brands or types, the lowest price, ridiculous warranties or unusual terms. With a cash purchase, it not only had to be the right solar company for quality components and installation, but had to be a reputable one as well. I contacted 14 different solar companies. I went through multiple phone and/or face to face conversations and numerous e-mail messages with their representatives, going over their offerings, their pricing, their installation procedures and their terms. Some of the most promising solar companies had sales people who were not even registered with CSLB (CA Contractor's State License Board), yikes!!!! Proper licensing is very important to us. Some companies will not allow any changes in their contract. I've worked on contracts with numerous "Fortune 500" companies on all types of contracts. Not only do they allow changes in their contracts, but they expect changes to their contracts as a normal part of the negotiations. Some companies require HUGE down payments before work has begun. Some had inadequate components or other issues while others insisted on signing contracts very quickly. Then I found Element Power Systems. Their business/sales licensing was in place. There were no questionable transaction issues reported on the CSLB website. They required a modest down payment. They allowed us to discuss and negotiate the terms of their contract. They provided us with good quality panels and components made by companies that will be around for many years to come. Like most of the companies, they patiently answered all our questions; the important questions as well as the silly ones. Most of the silly questions were mine since I'm technologically challenged. Travas, our primary contact person at Element, guided us through the entire process really well. But, more importantly, everything went smoothly. Their on staff installers (5 people in all) were very efficient, respectful and they worked fast too. The installation was completed in just a day, including cleaning up after themselves. And again, they patiently answered all our questions during the installation and patiently walked us through the system upon completion. No detail was left undone, including a full range of system testing. One week after the installation, PG&E approved the NEM Agreement. This gave us the PTO (Permit to Operate). So right now, we are enjoying our newly installed solar system as it is consistently producing more than double our daily usage on a system we know is sized right. This is typical for this time of year while the weather is great and the air-conditioner is not running. We can monitor the system (panels) in real time via our phone or on the computer. Very cool indeed. Going through 14 different solar companies to finally select Element Power Systems was an exhausting experience, but I'm glad I stuck with the process. Because in the end, we found the best solar company -- Element Power Systems!!! I learned a lot, and I can say I am no longer technically challenged. Not totally. Should the system have a hiccup, we know Element will be on hand to clear up any issue we might have. When the time comes to expand our system to handle the needs of an electric car, Element will be our choice!! read more

Brian with Element Solar was one of many contractors I spoke to. I am a tough customer and he was not only local, which I appreciated, but he was much more personable. I appreciated the no pressure and HONEST sales approach. He also offered financing options for credit scores under 700 at really excellent interest rates and terms to meet out budget! We didn't realize we could afford to own our own system! It was helpful because we have a pool and spa which ran up our PG&E terribly and needed a solution. He met with us many occasions at our home in the evenings and weekends to meet our schedules. He returns call and emails too. No matter how many times we had questions or wanted to see alternative scenarios, he was there with information and documentation to back it up. He had options as to the aesthetic appeal of different panel options and our solar looks beautiful! They installed quickly, efficiently and around our schedule. The service didn't stop there, it takes just a quick text, call or email and Brian himself will respond to answer your questions long after your installation. Element Power Systems recently finished my system and I couldn't be happier. From the initial proposal through the installation to final sign off everything went well. The staff all were really helpful in explaining what they were doing, how everything fit together and how the system worked as a whole.. They were very helpful in picking out the brand of panels to use answering any questions about efficiency and manufacture type that I asked when doing my own research about panels. When it came time for installation the crew was very nice. They even worked through the rain to get the system up and running as promised. They even cleaned out a clogged gutter for me they noticed while on my roof! Element was not the cheapest estimate I got but very close and part of why I chose them was due to my tile roof and how fragile they can be. They were the only ones that took the time to explain how they would protect my roof and go above and beyond to make sure there were no leaks. Brian was great to work with and answered all my questions honestly without any sales gimmicks. He took the time to run the calculations several ways for the different mounting options and size systems I was considering. I got quotes from five companies and while his quote was not the absolute lowest, it was competitive. His crew (Bryan, Brandon, and Wes) did an excellent job on the installation. Bryan took time to explain everything to me and showed me what they were doing when I was up on the roof. Their installation was exactly what I wanted and they cleaned up everything afterwards. He even installed two permanent anchors for me at no charge. The installation took about 3.5 days working in between the rain. From the time I signed the contract to the time the city signed off on the working system was about 4 weeks. I really could not ask for more. This is one amazing company. I've worked with contractors for all kinds of projects and am a hard person to impress, but these guys are truly a cut above. Element provides some of the best service I've ever seen. Sharp, extremely professional, excellent communication, and every one of their crew was as polite as could be. Our solar system was perfectly spec'd. Producing, in fact, even a little more than I was expecting. And a perfectly clean installation both in and out of the garage. They handled everything. All I had to do was move my car. These guys are frequently called out on solar jobs to fix mistakes other contractors have made. And I can see why. I recently had a leak in my pool solar system. I called the office to schedule a service call. Once again, I was told someone would return the call and get me on the calendar. Our Story: We got our panels installed in Nov 2022. We got…read morequotes from two other companies and looked online to a solar energy brokerage for more quotes. We got a recommendation for Del Sol from one of our friends that was happy with their process and service. We reached out to Elvin and he was able to send us over a proposal very quickly based on whatever tool they used to see our roof. He provided two options for our roof, a 19 panel configuration and a 21 panel configuration. We decided to go with the 21 panel configuration for our roof and it estimated putting us at 98% of total output. After looking at the cost of the system, we didn't think we would be able to get it for a couple of years, but Del Sol offers multiple financing options. We decided to use the local credit union for financing. After we decided on the configuration and got the financing locked down, the turnaround time was approximately three weeks. Which was a whole lot faster than we would have anticipated. Installation took a total of two days with the city inspector coming out the second day. After the installation, paperwork has to be submitted to PG&E to be turned on, which took about 10 more days. Bird proofing for our panels was part of the package and it was done a few days after the final install. Our Conclusion: So we've had our panels for about four months and are extremely happy with them. The process went extremely fast. Supporting local reputable companies are very important to the wife and I, for us it definitely felt like the process was very streamlined to the point of being overwhelming. Using reputable local companies for our home improvements has definitely paid off in spades. Del Sol already installed panels in our neighborhood and knew exactly what our HOA required. The permits were pulled in a timely manner, and inspection was scheduled and concluded on the final day of the install. The major hiccup we had was we wanted to get our roof. Inspected prior to the install. The installation team was very professional, and courteous to us during the install and checked in with us every day with what to expect for that day. The final solar manual was delivered by Elvin and he went over everything in it, which also included the app used to track the performance of your system. Everything was laid out and explained as far as all the warranty information and what to do when the county sent you that "home-improvement" letter. I shared our whole story for people that are just looking into getting solar and wanted to know what they might expect. If you're a Brentwood local, and you decide to go with Del Sol, you won't be disappointed. The quote was very comparable to all the others we received. Elvin's service and knowledge was outstanding and the installers were professional and efficient. Also being able to use a local credit Union for financing was an additional plus for us. Yes, I would recommend them for your solar system needs.

The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.

That original company went out of business shortly before my solar battery failed. This left me in a bind as I needed a technician to troubleshot the battery and most installers do not want to touch another company's system for such a small job. Though CalPro was not obligated to do it, they came over, troubleshoot the battery, and was able to get a replacement through the manufacturer's warranty. George and his daughter came over and installed the new battery themselves because he did not like leaving someone hanging with faulty equipment. He even came over again twice to fine tune the battery between other jobs. I even had to remind him to actually invoice me for his time as he had not bothered to give me a price for his labor and time (the warranty only covered the equipment cost). Great honest people who care about their work and customers.

George promptly communicated with my roofing contractors, emailed a contract and had the permits and service date within 3 days of communication. Thanks to George my roof is fixed and the price was decent. At 200 dollars per panel I saved 2,000 dollars compared to other companies charging exorbitant amounts. I would recommend CallPro Solar for anyone looking to have solar work done.

It took them weeks and they had never installed these devices before, and ran into numerous problems that required assistance from one guy who appeared to know what he was doing. They do not appear to be working properly. For instance our Ford EV trips the entire system and the system has to be booted back up. The power sold back is so low we are looking at a higher PG&E true up's than when we had no Power Walls. Synergy pointed the finger at Tesla, who said everything appears to be OK, but it really is not working and my PG&E bills show that. Synergy has taken no responsibility to help us diagnose what is happening and maybe it is because they have their money now so why bother with me? Without going into all the back and forth and very little help from Synergy, I will say that they simply stopped returning my phone calls or emails and are offering no more customer service in any way. These systems were put in 6 months ago and yet we know people with NO battery backup systems that pay nothing in true up's, so I ask myself why I wasted $25,000...unless this company does not know anything about the Model 3's and they were installed incorrectly. My only recourse now is to bring in a competent 3rd party company at my expense to look at the system. So the best I can say about Synergy is "buyer beware" and you have been warned.

Many cities now require solar systems to be installed, inspected, and signed off during rough construction, and fully completed before final inspection approval can be issued. I reached out to High Def Solar for a quote on a new construction project and scheduled a phone consultation. To help streamline the design process, I requested an email address so I could provide all the relevant project information upfront, including: * New electrical panel location and amperage * Appliance load sheets * Roof plans * Exterior elevations * Homeowner energy usage statements * Construction timeline and rough inspection schedule Instead of working collaboratively, the salesperson refused to provide an email address and stated they would only speak directly with the homeowner. Once I explained that I was the builder managing the project, I was told they did not want to discuss the system with "a construction worker" and insisted on dealing only with the client. This made absolutely no sense considering the homeowner has little to no knowledge of the construction schedule, rough inspection requirements, electrical infrastructure, or timing needed to successfully integrate solar into a new build. As the builder, coordinating these systems is literally part of my job. I've already received proposals and had productive conversations with several other solar contractors who understand how new construction projects operate and were happy to work directly with the builder to properly coordinate design, scheduling, and permitting. Unfortunately, my experience with High Def Solar was dismissive, unprofessional, and unnecessarily difficult. If you are a builder, contractor, or anyone managing a new construction project, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Working with professionals who understand construction coordination will save you a tremendous amount of time and frustration.
