This review has been coming for a long time. I had my two systems installed at the end of 2024 at my home and business. Jamie did a great job of explaining options and reasons for different systems at my home vs my business Net metering 2, Tax incentives, and emergency use. I had a few quotes and the places I felt the best about had similar prices. What ultimately made me choose Solar Harmonics was that I felt that I learned a little about Jamie and his company's business ethics. Also, the fact they survived the Net Metering 2 California solar market crash was impressive. I was warned by another solar installer that Modesto was a difficult place to install solar "The inspectors are difficult to deal with and more expensive than most other places". They turned out to be true, so I wasn't upset when both jobs ran into various problems that ran longer and cost more. The installers held true to their bids and ate the additional fees. I had a Tesla Powerwall system installed at my home at it ran perfectly from day one. I have an Enphase gateway in use at my office and it's far from my router and we have connectivity uses for months. I waited to resolve to problem before writing this review. In 2022 after a long hot summer here in Brentwood, Ca and off the chart electric bills, my wife and I decided it was time to consider Solar for our 3600 sq/ft home. We spoke with a number of Solar Electric Contractors in the pass but could not move forward due to lack of confidence and poor reviews. When we were ready to move forward in 2022, we interviewed three local companies. At the end of the day we selected Solar Harmonics. Jamie was friendly and knowledgeable and in my opinion, cared more about educating homeowners then just making the sale. Jamie stated that the project from start to finish ( City Permits, equipment ordering, installation and final inspections) could take 60 - 90-days to complete. We purchased our 4br 2.5bth 3car garage, 2059 sq ft .33ac lot home with a 50k gallon non-heated non-jacuzzi pool back in 2009, the house was built in 1987. I started researching Solar, the different options, solar plans, equipment, solar rebates, awards, companies etc. 3 weeks after solid research, our PG&E bill came in and it was $700+ dollars. That kind of forced my hand to really start getting quotes and more first hand info. I spoke to neighbors who bought/leased solar early on, and listened to their horror stories, and mentally listed their pro's and con's. Then I researched blogs about homeowners who have solar in California and read up on their experiences, even the ones with now out-of-business companies or bought-out companies. Common theme I saw with the big National Leaders - quote EXCELLENT, install EXCELLENT, customer service atf HORRIBLE. Jamie at Solar Harmonics from day 1 was on-point. His reviews to begin with were at 5* 100%, to the point where my wife and I were asking ourselves how fake these were. I started my inquiry on Yelp late on a weekday about 9pm. By the next morning I had a reply with information. Every communication after that was by email, and responses came back within an hour if not sooner. Working in a facility with poor cell reception 9-10 hrs a day, this was a huge plus for me. It was about 6 weeks before we committed and never in that time did I feel any pressure whatsoever to sign anything. In late Sept 2020 our original energy offset estimate was for 106% I believe, but I wanted an extra panel to bump me up to about 110% offset. The panels were top tier, and what really kept me interested was that my solar project would be monitored after the fact in the future, even though I would be able to monitor production myself from my phone or laptop. Most of the roof/equipment warranties were similar in language and length from the other companies I spoke to, but we kept going back to the customer service once install was said and done. There are hundreds of complaints in CA alone about folks not getting any help or questions even answered with their Solar issues. By mid October 2020 we signed with Jamie. Even if this company were to go out-of-business in the next few years, Jamie's team in the end provided us with all of the necessary material breakdowns, and blueprints for any other solar company to come in to be guided if we needed desperate assistance. Although, I don't see this happening and hope it never does. Jamie got us all the info I needed on Solar Financing, and gave multiple options with recommendations. He explained how everything would/should go with planning, permits, and how the 26% FTC would work. I was kept up to date with deadlines and expectations, and the contracting company they work with out of the Sacramento/Mather area are great. Very professional, efficient, and courteous folks. Cleaned up everything each day. Once our system was up and running just before Christmas 2020 (2 day install, 30 panels), Jamie kept me informed on PG&E status with the grid connection and within a week, the first week of Jan 2021 to be exact) we were up and running by PG&E. After all was said and done, he also made sure I had all the appropriate paperwork ready when we filed our taxes for 2020, and we just completed those today Feb 2021. There have been probably been 30 group emails back and forth since September 2020, and all paperwork was signed electronically during this pandemic. I've probably only spoken or heard Jamie's voice 3-4 times in that timeframe. I think I spoke to people over the phone from the Credit Union more than Jamie from Nov-Dec 2020. He and his team have hands down made this solar, go-green purchase, a very smooth and almost stress free experience, from start to finish. There was no nagging, no reverse psychology, no common sales pitches...just facts and data to supplement our decision. It wasn't anything like the folks who go door to door with fake PG&E albums/flyers, or those Gas supplier sales folks. In the past two tears we have had a lot of dealings with all types of vendors. We did a major remodel, upgraded our electric panel, installed a new ac/heat system, and installed a foam roof. Everyone we worked with was five star and performed their services as advertised. My wife and I worked with curtis and Jamie with solar harmonics. We have had our system for over a year and we are very happy with the purchase! They worked VERY hard to for us to make sure things were compliant with our hoa as we live in a town home. They were also quite thorough with outreach and followup throughout the process. Perhaps you know him, perhaps you don't. His name is "Murphy" and he's quite the trouble maker. Despite our best efforts to discourage him, he often persists in playing the vagabond 'round our home. As a result, anything that can go wrong, often does. We seem to live in a vortex of Murphy's Law! That's why when we met Jamie Duran, owner of Solar Harmonics, we felt so grateful. After months of calling solar companies to fix our pathetic solar system, which had been insufficiently producing for over 6 months, Jamie is the only person who was willing to take on our case. As it turns out, solar companies only like to work on panels that they installed and warrantied themselves. As for those of us who have panels from companies that no longer exist (ahem, Akeena Solar), we are saddled with a useless warranty and a broken system no one will touch. We had received the proverbial middle finger from every other Bay Area solar company! Like a frigid old maid staring longingly from her rocking chair out into the distance, our system seemed destined to wither into a shadow of itself until it's inevitable death. Feelings of frustration and high PG&E bills were often met with the occasional temper tantrum and many cocktail hours to numb the pain. Whether it was the sheer desperation in my voice or simply his humanitarian nature, Jamie immediately stepped up to the plate. Now "Murphy" was still hanging around, so of course we hit a few snags along the way including having to work with Andalay Solar (formerly Akeena), which proved troublesome. Originally, we wanted to upgrade our system to micro inverters to improve the lifespan of our system since the inverter that went bad was outdated. Sadly, Andalay polluted the process. We did get a replacement inverter from Fronius, which is offsetting the costs of the upgrade; however, Andalay was zero help. Andalay wanted to charge us an additional several thousand dollars on top of what we were already paying Solar Harmonics just to help complete the installation process, a process that could have been simplified if they had provided the right tools and guidance on their system from the beginning. Thankfully, Jamie and his team are outside-of-the-box thinkers, and while we opted to skip the micro inverters for now, we upgraded to an SMA Inverter and monitoring system. Granted, if Andalay (Akeena) had done the job right the first time around, our system may not have rebelled against us so soon. However, the result is outstanding. Our system is producing like a superstar again! Despite having several years under its belt, it has actually increased in production. Jamie is the solar whisperer. He's accommodating, knowledgeable, flexible, is a good listener, and makes himself available despite being very busy. While we know this job was hard on the Solar Harmonics team (I swear I saw hair floating down from the roof as they pulled it out trying to figure out the jigsaw puzzle that is our system), he maintained a positive attitude throughout the project. His dedication to the customer is why we recommend Solar Harmonics over all other local or national companies. We trust the Solar Harmonics team has since grown their hair back. And we're happy to report that "Murphy" has taken up roots and planted himself elsewhere! Celebrate good times! read more

We had an absolutely great experience with Jamie and Solar Harmonics! They handled the entire thing, from permits, to turning the system on with PG&E. The timeframe was faster than they said, and our meter is now running backwards! I actually can't WAIT for next month's bill, because that will be our first month with a full month of the system :-) Everything was done as promised, and I'm thrilled that we own our system, increasing property value, AND saving us money every month!
