They did a great job installing a set of four or five ducts we'd previously removed due to asbestos, replacing some of the tape around our heater, and adding insulation. A one-day job. In the end it turned out I'd forgotten to talk about a special duct situation affecting one of our rooms that required a bit of extra work. Something they could have done the day of - had they known about it. Fortunately, although this piece was a really small job - too small for them to normally come out for - they came out and finished it. The whole process was good from beginning to end. read more

We used Element Home Solutions for a complete overhaul of our heating system - from removing ancient wall heaters to changing the furnace and vents everywhere - and could not be happier. They provided stellar customer service - super easy communication, great estimates, & organization which can be really challenging when scoping & executing on such a big project. Ernest is excellent to work with - very knowledgeable, friendly, and super responsive. The crew arrived early in the day and did everything in a couple of hours. They were super efficient AND left the house spotless - not something we expected. Couple of months in and the new system works perfectly well. Highly recommend! read more

The estimator came on time. I showed him the Mitsubishi system I needed installed and asked him for an estimate. I have the same system in our second home and I know the work involved. The equipment cost about $3000-$4000 (I have him full reference) and it takes about a day or two with two people to pull the tubes through the open attic. I got an estimate for $16,400 and when I asked why they charge $13000 for two days of work, got no response. I cannot recommend them at all. read more

Wow! Very professional service from beginning to the end. I was recommended by a friend and he said they guarantee their work and they are very clean and honest. Best service in the Bay Area so far!!! read more

We had new ductwork and a central heat, A/C, and filtration system installed. The quote was competitive. I worked with Earnest who was courteous, prompt, and worked with me to find the best compromises to a couple of tricky locations to run new ductwork both during the estimate and on the single (!) day of installation. They crew cleaned up well too. Despite the necessary chaos of a crew of ten running in, around, and under my house for several hours, it was likely as good an experience as one could hope for. read more

Highly recommend them for new heater furnace replacement or installation. Mac D and his crew did an outstanding job on the install. I really appreciate the fact that he did not cut any corners in his work and really took his time to do everything just right valuing quality of work over just trying to get the job done fast and sacrificing on quality. Thank you so much Mac for doing such a great job! read more

Updated: Our AC went out and I called on a Saturday morning for assistance. A technician came by within an hour and got things running again. Woohoo! Original post went under a random log in for some reason. Reposting. We hired Element to replace our furnace and add central air. This was a large project that involved removing old vents, patching drywall, relocating the furnace from the crawlspace to the attic. It also meant taking out some huge (20"?) piping that had occupied a whole closet. The drywall patches over the old vents were done well and aren't noticeable after painting. Everything is working well and we have inspections scheduled for tomorrow. Everyone was professional and safe during the shelter in place. I ultimately was disappointed a bit though. The closet had a huge hole in the floor from the old piping. They patched it with what looks like leftover wood. I understand it was a difficult spot, but they didn't even ask if I wanted to pay for some quality wood or just leave it undone since I had to get a separate contractor to install a wall to cover the new piping. Ultimately, I'd recommend them, but just be sure to work out details like this ahead of time. read more

No heat but cold air coming from our gas furnace, called PG&E to relit the pilot. Learned that there no pilot but the valve was the problem. Ernest from Element came next day and told us all about our heating system. We're able to choose the best option, replacing our 31 years old furnace. It was done the next day smoothly. Thanks for the rapid solution, we don't have to suffer in the cold nights. read more

Eduardo is an excellent estimator/project manager - very thorough, great customer service. We had to wait for a month for project to start due to backlog but they turned up early and got the job done in a day. Well worth the wait. read more

This was an extremely fast, yet thorough job. We obtained 3 bids, but Element was the only company whose representative (Caesar) crawled into the attic and under the house to measure ducts and explain a comprehensive plan. On the day of the installation, 8 guys showed up, tarped the house, tore out the old ducts, installed the new ones, added a second return, installed the unit, and completed electrical work in 1 day. The clean up was also very impressive. We passed county inspection on the first try. Price-wise, this was in the middle of the three bids. But we went with Element because of the thoroughness. Highly recommended. read more

We were impressed by the knowledge and customer service of César Eduardo who came and assessed our home and provided us with a quote. The work was a lot and he suggested a comprehensive plan and still tried to meet our budget and needs about getting the work done in a timely manner. Element did both structural and less substantive repair after a previous contractor had really messed things up. The team worked for a total of a day and left an in tact, transformed HVAC system. They also made a hell of a mess in the house - as to be expected - and cleaned everything up beautifully! Altogether a quality job. They said they would be available if we had any problems, and i believe them. read more

My air conditioning install with Eduardo and team went really well. I didn't end up going with the lowest bid, because Eduardo realized how to fit a top-of-the-line "Slimline" under my porch instead of ugly on the side of the house, plus then found a clever place to pull the power. I think I got value. the actual process was all rather tidy and painless. read more

This updates my review from 11/10/2020. Bottom Line Up Front: I complained, they fixed the problem with no charge even though it wasn't their fault. This business reads Yelp and they got back to me ASAP. The problem was the thermostat. It may have been mis-wired when initially installed but it turned on the AC compressor at the same time the heater was on. Thus, no heat. I never had AC before so this never came up. EHS replaced the thermostat gratis and it took an hour or so. They said they would be here between 10am and 12pm. Got here at 9:56am and all the work was done by 11:15. So be sure to check the AC and the Heater at the install. "Mack" is your POC if anything goes wrong. Would give five stars but, as I've discussed with "Mack" there needs to be better control of the dust from the fiberglass insulation. "Mack" has since instituted new controls. But that's after my install and subsequent itch-fest. Maybe they should go with the non-itch stuff? So, that's it. And I highly recommend EHS. read more

Element Home Solutions is Great. We just had our entire attic cleaned, sterilized, & rodent proofed. Along with new R-38 insulation placed throughout the attic of our home. The Eduardo family were very helpful and did a fantastic job!! We are completely satisfied. Very happy to recommend Element Home Solutions. read more

Element was really great to work with from start to finish. I got a prompt response to my initial inquiry for an AC install, and Eduardo acted as my point of contact from initial estimate through installation. He did a great job explaining everything to me, and providing options. Unfortunately, the flippers who sold us our house had installed our furnace incorrectly and all the ductwork was the wrong size. Eduardo laid out good options for us to either repair or replace the furnace, and the pros and cons of both. We ended up going for a new furnace, ductwork and adding AC - they were able to install everything in one day. The crew was great, respected COVID protocols and wearing shoe covers whenever they entered our house. Our 3rd party inspection 2 days later was quick and all the work checked out perfectly. Great to work with, I'd recommend Element to anyone needing HVAC services. read more

I got a new heating/AC HVAC system installed in my home from Element. Since this is a major investment in my home I got proposals from several different companies and the team at Element came up with the best solution for my old house and spent the most time during the estimate to come up with a plan. They offered a complete job including re-insulating my attic and patching the walls where my old furnaces had been The work was completed correctly and on schedule. I'm very happy that I went with Element to do this job. read more

Jerry was the first HVAC company to respond and set up an appointment with us. I had two other companies come out and evaluate what we needed, but in the end we decided to go with Element Home Solutions. Very easy to work with; we asked a lot of questions regarding the type of unit, brand, etc.... Although we only needed an a/c unit, Jerry checked our duct work as well as the furnace to see if everything would be compatible for our house and up to date. Everyone working on the project was efficient and cleaned up after every step. They also set up approval from the county and permit paperwork. Highly recommended. read more

Okay, so I never thought I'd get excited to Yelp an HVAC company, but Ernest and his workers are the absolute best professionals in the biz. I live in a tiny, awkward cottage and had many HVAC professionals shaking their heads. Not Ernest. He was realistic and reassuring in his thorough assessment of the particular challenges. I felt safe with him. And isn't that what we all really need on these big, overwhelming projects? His estimate was emailed to me by the end of that very day and he told me he preferred to communicate by telephone as emails get lost or delayed or forgotten. Another bonus - a contractor with keen communication skills. The team were absolute professionals who got the job done thoroughly and on time. They did a stellar job of cleaning up after themselves also. Ernest was available ON A SATURDAY NIGHT when there was a malfunction. The team came and fixed it the very next morning. I've had many contractors through this cottage for various jobs, but Ernest was right up there. Hire him. You'll be glad you did.. read more

Great work !! I shopped around for a quote with various HEVAC and insulation companies. So far not only these guys are reasonable also very professional in their job. They know what they are doing. Also I liked the fact that they did not look to cut around the corners and did extra work to get work done without charging me extra money. I highly recommend these guys !! read more

HVAC: Make it cold, make it warm. What's the difference? Interest and ability. Ernst explained the issues, what replacements were ideal for our home, innovation in filtering the air, even the capabilities of the compressor outside. The price was about $6000 less than local Novato companies, and they handled it all. They lined up the permits, inspections and did the removal and install in one day including a new duct to a bonus room downstairs. read more

Element Home Solutions just installed a brand new Furnace, Air Conditioning, medical-grade iQair filtration system and replaced all of the duct work in our home. Ernest Shahray was the Project Manager. They crew was clear, efficient, on-time, and done in just one day! The work was done well and we passed our inspections with a Home Energy Audit the next day! It was not the cheapest quote but the team and their quality of work came highly recommended by many other Lamorinda families. We highly recommend them and their team! read more

My wife found EHS through Yelp and it sounded perfect for our needs. I trusted Gilbert the moment we met that he would get the job done. He and his crew are very professional, arrive on time (early) and know exactly what they're doing. They came and were proficient in all the things they said they would do AND MORE. I highly recommend EHS. Ask for Gilbert if you can. You are in good hands with him. This was a huge project but he got it done. VERY SATISFIED. I would use again. Maybe air conditioning some day. read more

I don't usually write reviews, negative or otherwise, but I was so flabbergasted by the way I was treated by the woman who answered the phone today, I just had to do this. I suppose the 5-star reviews are for the technicians, but don't they understand that customer service starts with the first contact? She apparently doesn't get that. I am a property manager in Novato with tons of connections - clients, tenants, colleagues, other vendors. I called and left a message on Tuesday. I got no response. I called again on Thursday. I finally got a response on Friday, so I called back. I have never encountered a vendor who was unwilling to reach out to a tenant. This woman said I needed to have the tenant call her to set up the appointment. I said they shouldn't have to. They are the customer, after all. She said "Maybe you need to find a vendor who can accommodate the way you like to work." I beg your pardon???? Maybe I do. And when I do, you can bet that I'll be referring my clients, tenants, colleagues and other vendors to that HVAC vendor instead of Element Home Solutions. Epic Fail, guys! Wish I could give negative stars. read more

My rating (a 3) is not a reflection on the staff. The installers were courteous and professional as were the workers sent to check on the performance of the equipment. The rating is, rather, a reflection of the equipment. We had a Mitsubishi 2-stage heat pump installed in August. The cooling function met our expectations. When the temperature dropped to the mid-30's and below, the heating function did not meet our expectations. We reported to Element Home Solutions that the heat pump required 3 to 4 hours to reach and then maintain our desired inside temperature when the outside temperature dropped. Maintenance workers came to inspect the unit and let us know that the unit was working as expected. Should you decide to buy a Mitsubishi heat pump you should insure your expectations match reality. read more

Firstly, I would recommend them for any HVAC related work and also insulation And I would encourage you guys to speak/ have Ernest do the consultation. He is very very professional, very knowledgeable and takes his time to look at each and everything thing before giving recommendations. He gives you few options ( after understanding your needs) and also gives his recommendation when you ask for it. I decided to check for insulation and install new ac/ furnace systems and has checked with few other retailers in the business. The others have been, either miss-informing or not have a complete knowledge about what the customer is asking. Expertise with element home solutions (Ernest being the contraction for the job) has been excellent. Very responsive, communication is my amazing, friendly staff, even manager Mac is very good. All the staff are employees of EHS and they don't sell it to local contractors. Which makes it even more amazing as you know there is always a sync with what you were told and what the folks are doing. Their staff is very friendly, they did the job ontime and made sure to leave the house clean after their work. Don't look beyond anyone for you hvac/insulation needs. read more

Can't say enough about how great they were. They were professional, knowledgeable and quick. They have their process down and are super efficient! We had a long list of attic problems (minimal insulation, broken ducts, not working vents, not working returns, rats in the attic, mice eating the ducts to come into the house, old furnace, no ac...) They fixed ALL the problems. Other quotes were to put bandaids on our problems but Element worked to go back to the beginning and actually fix all the problems. Thank you! read more

If there's one word that describes Element Home Solutions it's OUTSTANDING! From the moment I picked up the phone for a quote to the final inspection, every one is friendly, prompt and informed. When you call them it feels like everyone knows you in the company. We chose this company to renew our entire heating system as well as install A/C. From asbestos removal to duck & furnace replacement, electrical and attic/crawlspace cleaning & isolating....the works. They anticipated 4 days work but were done in 2.5. They were clean and respectful of your home. We encountered a couple of bumps along the way and they immediately had a solution. Other companies need to follow their example because they know service! read more

Ernest helped us navigate the complexity of updating our hvac system. We had old rigid asbestos air ducts that needed to get replaced. He was able to oversee that and he pointed out that our vents and furnace location was inefficient and caused a lot of noise. Ultimately our furnace was at the end of lifespan too and at the last second we decided to totally upgrade ti a heat pump and he made it happen the night before. He really knows his stuff and is super patient and helps you really understand what the best options are for you house. read more

Element installed a heat pump and air filtration system at our home yesterday. From the first meeting with Eduardo until completion of the job, Element was a pleasure to work with. Mac returned an email by phoning me within seconds of my having sent the email. Everything was installed efficiently and competently as promised. The workers were polite and hard-working, and cleaned up thoroughly when they were finished. We're delighted with the Mitsubishi system that was installed. It is quiet, which was very important to us, and for the first time ever, all the rooms in our house are the same temperature. I'd recommend Element to anyone. read more

It is rare in this climate of rising prices and slow supply chains to encounter a business that truly operates with integrity, putting their customers best interest in front of their own. Element Home Solutions does exactly that. I spent a long time working with Eduardo, who was not only knowledgeable, but went the extra mile to make sure that every bid, every explanation and every suggestion took me and my personal situation into account. I cannot recommend him or Element more sincerely or enthusiastically. read more

We got mini split system installed by element home solutions . Both Edwuatdo and Mac were communicative , followed up with us and tried to work different solutions as we had certain HOA restrictions . They get the job done !! Installation was very quick and happened over a span of 2 days for the three units. Price is a bit on the higher side. read more

Element Home Solutions - One of the units in our living room - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Oakland, California

I could not be more pleased with the services I received from Element Home Solutions. They are the epitome of excellence and have set the bar for the quality of service I will expect from now on (tighten up your game, other companies!). Element was one of three HVAC companies I interviewed to replace our old furnace, as well as install a new AC and an IQ Whole House Air Purifier System. I met with Eduardo, who was to be the actual contractor doing the work as opposed to some random sales guy sent out to pitch prospective clients. I found Eduardo extremely knowledgeable; he thoroughly explained the details of all the work to be done and never tried to upsell me - in fact, he talked me out of unnecessary upgrades (insulation in the interior walls, a higher cost unit that wouldn't give a reasonable return, a pricey whole-house humidifier that could cause problems down the line). He even went beyond that, pointing out that the reason the wall between my laundry room and bedroom had been destroyed was because of an improperly placed duct (moisture was trapped inside the walls), and then offered to replace and redirect the duct outside at no extra cost to me (I would just pay for materials). Amazing! Most other contractors wouldn't care to involve themselves in anything other than the work at hand. He also made arrangements to have asbestos professionally removed by a certified company before installation at an extremely reasonable price, something I got quoted for considerably more from the other two companies. During the time between our meeting and the installation date, I had a ton of questions and concerns (owing to a bit of OCD on my end), but both Mac and Eduardo were extremely responsive to all of them. I definitely felt like they valued me as a customer and were running a tight ship of highly competent individuals. On the day of installation, Eduardo and his team arrived right on time. They got straight down to business, taking care to protect my hardwood floors and clean up their messes as they went along. The installation was a little more complicated than expected, but they didn't ask for more than they quoted - they just bucked up and did the work. It took them the entire day, but they left our house spotless and with a brand new spanking HVAC system. The next day, they called to let me know that they had a contractor who could come by and repair my damaged laundry room wall for me (again, this was a wall they had nothing to do with whatsoever), who also turned out to do excellent work as well. I plan to have him back to tackle on more home repairs and projects. Finally, today I had a professional home inspection done, and my inspector said that the installation of the HVAC system was "excellent" (he mentioned that he often sees installation issues on new systems). As if I couldn't be any happier with Element Home Solutions. Thank you Mac, Eduardo, Ping, and the rest of the crew for a stellar job well done. I will refer you to everyone I know! **pro tip: PG&E is offering a $50 rebate on a purchase of a Nest Learning Thermostat (which Eduardo wired up and installed for us at no extra cost, of course) read more

These guys were great. Jorge came to give us a quote and led the crew who did the work. We got a new furnace, added AC and got all new ducts. Jorge was very professional from beginning to end and clearly knew what he was doing. We were extremely happy with the whole process and with the results. They recommended all new ducts which surprisingly didn't bring the price higher than the other bids we got, none of which mentioned doing anything to our ducts. The new ducts really made a difference. Everything else was great too. I'm really glad we chose these guys. read more

Some businesses are like people, they deserve a second chance. This second attempt is much better, so 5 out 5. The other day, the owner of this company reached out to me via yelp messenger and wished to know what happened to my experience and I showed him the estimate and general info regarding this visit. After talking to him on the phone, he offered for a second evaluation/estimate and I agreed. Surprisingly, they had an opening the next day and the window was from 9am-noon. That morning Caesar/Eduardo called the house stating he was going to be early, 8:30 am early. So sort of nice bonus not waiting around for a few hours. Anyways, Eduardo which is his preference instead of Caesar, inspected the attic and asked a few questions. While the previous inspector asked a few questions, Eduardo at least to me gave off a more relaxed and not rushed kinda of vibe. He actually pointed stuff out about out heating system that no one else has brought up, along with a few suggestions and even to my happiness that agreed the initial estimate on the square footage was a possible mistake due to a possible thought that the garage was a living space. The second bid was fairly quick to crunch and send to our email addresses and with that plenty of questions via email and phone calls to the owner. The owner was very informative and friendly in our talks and I appreciated that, even the upfront honesty that our other bid from another company was a very good bid. If I didn't have a good offer from another company, hands down I think I would have gone through Element home solutions and it's honestly kinda of rare for a company to reach out to you and try to fix the solution! read more

We had insulation in our attic from the 40's in our house, Element came in and replaced it all. As part of the process, they closed up holes that I didn't know existed where rodents had gotten in. It took only a day to do it and the team was terrific. Our house was spotless after they were done. Now our heating bill has dropped and the temperatures remain constant. As a follow up, a rodent found a new spot to get in. Element came out and fixed it for us at no charge. Thank you for the great work! read more

I called Element because I had a rat issue (yuck!) and they had chewed through 2 year old vents under my house! Jerry came out, looked at my issues and recommended new insulation as well. (I knew when I bought the house it had no insulation in the crawl space and crappy insulation in the attic.) And I decided to bite the bullet and replace the 20 year old furnace. Jerry and Element aslo helped me secure financing for the job from California First/Renew Financial - $0 down and a low fixed rate. I could not have come up with the money out of pocket for the entire job. The financing was so great that I also added an attic fan! We also added a moisture barrier, since they were working under the house anyway and we've had some moisture/water with all the rains. (Moisture barrier was not covered by California First.) The team from Element was amazing - really - they were prompt, professional, courteous and cleaned up after themselves every day. The job was started on time, finished on time and the entire process was E.A.S.Y. He also referred me to an amazing company for rodent-proofing my home and they were also amazing to deal with! Hire this company - they are honest, professional and made the entire process from estimate to install so easy. I'm super excited about how these investments are going to make the home I already love so much more energy efficient - cozy in the winter and cool in the summer! read more
