I received a delivery order yesterday... not impressed. Previous orders had been OK, but this one was just plain bad! Over-cooked, mushy vegetables, chewy old shrimp with destroyed peaches, nothing crispy, and unimpressive / poor flavours. The beef satay had the taste of bad Indian food!!! The beef had more gristle than beef, never mind the large amount of heavy fatty oil! We will never order from here again. read more

This place has improved leaps and bounds from when they first opened a few years ago - new owners, perhaps? I've ordered in once and picked up once in the last 2 months. When we had supper delivered they forgot our spring rolls and had to come back. It would have been nice if they included a few extras or something for the trouble as we had already finished by the time they came back. Everything has been pretty good except the green onion cakes are the pick style - a little heavy on the dough. None-the-less, it is wonderful to have a NE option again after China Village has gone so far downhill. And when we picked up a few weeks ago, everything was good. Father-in-law was a little annoyed that the white rice we ordered didn't amount to much but all the food was spot on! Excellent won ton soup - not soggy and a very flavorful broth! I ordered again a few months ago and upon stating I was unable to pick up, the owner ensured that my food was delivered quickly despite not having her driver there for another few hours! Called and the lady who answered the phone was soooo sweeet. This is my favourite Chinese restaurant for taste. They usually fill the boxes to the top, although on this visit I was a little disappointed with the quantity of food within the boxes. We had a half an hour drive home so we only order this when we are on the northside of town. Even with the long drive the spring rolls were fresh and crispy. It is fried to perfection with the perfect blend of pork within. I appreciate that they allow me to substitute the chicken fried rice to a second Shanghai noodle for an extra $2 cost. There is ample seating within the restaurant but I find it very glum and dark inside the restaurant. Give this hidden gem a try, your stomach and taste buds will thank you. read more

This review is short and sweet. The good: Elegant Court has very good food, for being a little hidden in the Manning Crossing strip mall. If you order in advance for pickup, everything is always very good. The lady behind the counter is also extremely friendly and always greets you like you've been friends for years. The not-so-good: Their buffet is usually very much battered and greasy fried food, which is not my thing at all. If it's your thing, you might really like it. Unfortunately, I did not. Have tried this place a couple times but was disappointed again in the honey garlic ribs. Even after calling the first time and being asked to tell them how to cook it next time they still were not crispy. The orange chicken was hard as a rock and not tasty at all with the sauce. I did enjoy the beef with black bean sauce as it was tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. We had spent over $60 to get a true test of the variety of food and were not impressed. I ate here a few years ago and found the buffet sorely lacking. Since then the buffet is no longer offered and their business seems to be take-out focused including free delivery on orders over $30. I have to admit that my recent take-out experience was surprising pleasant. I purchased the dinner for two plus an extra dish which was plenty for our family. The flavours were spot on and I found that the meat actually tasted like the meat it was supposed to be, even when cold the next day. I always hate taking a bite and thinking, "Is this the orange chicken or the sweet and sour pork?" I'm still hesitant but based on this experience I would be willing to try them again. read more

Really wanted the delivery from this place to be great as our current goto place - Szechuan Paramount is a long distance away. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Our order was delivered promptly and was piping hot 5/5 stars on that aspect. We ordered mini green onion cakes 4/5 good but they are the mass produced ones you can get at TnT. Pork dumplings - yummy 5/5, Shanghai Noodles - really greasy and Noodles were all cut to 2inch lengths 3/5, sweet sour pork 5/5 great taste lots of fresh veggies, beef and broccoli 5/5 same fresh veggie situation here, and orange chicken - terrible, tasteless, gross 1/5 totally disappointed as this is my favorite dish. No orange flavour, wrong colour, wrong consistency. Overall the let down on the quality of the food outstripped the speed of delivery and fresh, hot state it arrived in. Great food. The Satay beef was EXCELLENT, very good Kung Pow chicken. Shrimp fried rice was good as well. All very large servings. Lots of left overs. Average dish was about 11 bucks, quite a bit cheaper than many and lots of meat, chicken and shrimp in the dishes. Very good value and they offer free delivery. Service was extremely friendly and prompt. Happy to do gluten free dishes. Highly recommend you give it a try. read more

We ordered take out tonight from here for the first time. Staff was friendly and the price was about average. The portions were good and the flavour was excellent. On the down side, the chicken fried rice was a little undercooked and the chow mien was a little light on the noodles. The chow mien noodles were hard and dry. When I called about the problem, I was told that they make it like that way but next time I could order the chow mien noodles soft and they would make it that way. I think it should be clear on the menus or they should ask when ordering how you want it. We had no idea that there were soft or crispy noodle options. Overall, the food, portions, and price were good and we will probably order from here again. Next time with soft noodles. read more
