I have only one negative thing to say before I tell you how much I like this place. Here goes: It's a tiny place,and very busy. So the only place we could sit with my mom and her walker was the benches. I loathe those benches. Very hard for a woman with mobility issues to get into, and since they are bolted to the floor, they can't be adjusted. My mother and I were both super uncomfortable. Everything else was great. The bathroom were clean and easily accessible. Service was good, selection was great, and the food was delicious. But the best part might be the clever packaging. When I received my....I think it was a Crispy Deluxe Noodles...The noodles were packaged separate from the meat and veggies. I could pour as much as i liked and the noodles didn't get soggy until I let them get soggy. My sister had the veggie bowl, and her veggies were packaged separate from her rice. Nice! I was excited due to the menu, clean environment and friendly service. When I got home I was sad that my chicken basil dish was pure chicken fat hardly any actually meat at all. Also, quite expensive for deep fried chicken fat and noodles with a side of rice ($23 after tip). I can't eat the "chicken" so I hope this was not their regular situation. Such high hopes after reading their menu, but that was quickly dashed after our visit. I love the idea of a variety of dishes from different cultures on one menu and was super excited for a fast food place that offered so many choices. We tried the crispy tofu appetizer ($9), Filipino ribs in honey garlic with rice ($12) and the new house special noodle soup ($12). You order at the counter, pay, get your number and then fill your own drinks at the fountain. The wait wasn't too long even though there was a steady stream of pick up orders from what we observed. Tofu was hot and crispy and tossed in a generous amount of salt and pieces of bell pepper. This was our favourite thing we ordered. The noodle soup was thin egg noodles, a variety of balls (meat, fish, tofu) and a couple of pieces of broccoli. The noodles were extremely overcooked so they were super soft (blech) and the broth was flavorless hot water. I've a pretty low salt tolerance, so when I'm looking for either salt or soy sauce or *something* to give it flavour, it's pretty bland. Lastly, the Filipino ribs were coated in batter, deep fried and tossed in honey - if there was garlic, it was minuscule because all you tasted was honey. Served with steamed rice, it needed something more to cut the sweetness. A bit of vegetable to the dish would go a long way. It was very reminiscent of food court chinese ribs - I'm not sure how authentic it was for Filipino food. I think it's pretty pricy for what you're getting. If I went back I'd avoid anything with soup and maybe pick something with both meat and vegetables. Don't think I'd rush back anytime soon though. read more

Ordered takeout through Doordash. Food was really tasty but very pricey! We ordered green onion cake (only comes with one per order), vegetable spring rolls (three per order), Pad Thai with Shrimp and Thai Green Curry bowl. Love that the Green Curry was separated from the rice. This way it's not soggy. Wonderfully designed take out bowls! Everything tasted fresh made and delicious. I would give this place a zero if I could! We ordered delivery. The food was very salty and way to much oil to even think about eating. We tasted everything but ended up throwing EVERYTHING in the trash! No supper tonight! This Asian fusion fast food restaurant has a similar menu (except larger) to the now-defunct Rice Bowl Express that was located on 149 Street. The place is larger, the menu has been expanded, and patrons can expect a variety of bowls inspired by Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Korean cuisine. For dessert, there is bubble tea and frozen yoghurt. I had a chicken satay bowl which came on coconut rice. It took me a while to realize that the meat and veggies were in a plastic bowl suspended above the rice. One has to pull out the top bowl and pour it over the rice. This was somewhat awkward. The portion was decent enough, but the chicken did not taste fresh to me, and it looked a little undercooked at points. My other half had teriyaki beef, and he enjoyed it, but said it wasn't much better or different than he gets at Tokyo Express. Service was reasonably fast, and prices range from $7-$10 per bowl. I've been to Rice Bowl numerous times. Pretty much every time I've been to this location over the years, it's the same. Came into the place and there were a few people in the place. I ordered the Panko Salmon bowl and ordered a Katsu Pork Curry for my wife. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. As with other visits, we waited for a bit, prior to getting our food. This was very typical of prior experiences. Once we had our food, as expected from prior visits. The portion size and the quality of the food is good for what you pay for. It's not exactly cheap for the bowl, but the quality is there, and as in the past, food always comes out hot. Overall, I like this place, and they are consistently good, and have been over the years. I've never had a bad meal from this restaurant! It may not be completely authentic, but it's always made fresh with quality ingredients. Prices are reasonable and everything I've had only leaves me wanting more! While I literally had to get a bowl of ice cream to eat in-between bites of my (very spicy) green curry the other night, I just couldn't get enough of it. We regularly order take-out from here and the portion sizes are large enough for left-overs the next day. After getting food poisoning twice from this place from under cooled Korean pork ribs I stopped going. I've messaged customer service and they always say that they'll talk to the person making the food and offer free food in return but I can't bring myself to go back. I ordered a soup to be on the safe side the last time and the soup wasn't good at all, I ended up throwing it out. The spring rolls are veggie and are full of grease. I'm giving them 2 stars for customer service but the food is just crap and very pricey. If you come here stick to the bubble tea or frozen yogurt. I ordered the Red Curry with chicken and coconut rice thru the app. I requested no carrots. Due to Covid it was a pick up order which was ready on arrival. The dish had overcooked and partially 'seeded' broccoli plus zucchini that turned to mush when cooked. These 2 ingredients are not mentioned in the description and should be left out. I love this place. It is so convenient, priced well and mostly yummy. My fiancé and I have been going here since it opened its doors, and between the two of us, we have eaten almost everything on the menu (minus all of its newly added dishes). The price is really good because I usually get 2 mid sized meals from one bowl, my fiancé usually gets a mid-size meal and a leftover snack (or a huge meal in one sitting). The staff is always nice and acknowledges you before you're ready to order. It makes me happy to see a lot of people going in and out of this place, because they deserve the business. I love the convenience of having them on speed-dial and ordering on phone for pickup (usually around 10-15 mins wait, which is my travel time to get here). My favourite dishes are the Macau Curry (with Beef), their new Korean Fried Chicken in Honey Garlic (my mouth is salivating), and Japanese Pork Katsu Curry Bowl. I would avoid the Vietnamese Noodle Bowl (this is not real Pho), Korean Gangnam Chicken (this was way too saucy and tangy for me), and Chow Fun Noodle Bowl (this was a slap in the face to real Chow Fun/Fan). But otherwise, most other bowls are tasty enough and a great deal. I've had better BBT than this place, but it will satiate your cravings if you happen to have one. There were no surprises with Rice Bowl Deluxe. I was in a hurry and I didn't have time to scan the menu for something I could eat so I asked the girl at the counter "I don't eat meat. What do you recommend?" She got all wide-eyed and scared "You don't like meat?!" I was a bit taken aback "no... I don't eat it at all." She got even wider-eyed (if that was even possible) and said "oh... well we have the veggie bowl". Wow. What a concept! I didn't have time to ask if that was really my only option so I agreed to try it. Unlike most other fast-food stir-fry joints, the service wasn't fast. At least the atmosphere was decent to relax in. However 20 minutes to wait for fast-food really isn't acceptable. I only get a half hour break and I don't enjoy having to rush to stuff my face. There was only one other customer there so I'd hate to see how slow things are when they're actually busy. Overall, Rice Bowl Deluxe was underwhelming. After a client of mine from work raved about RBD, I thought we would try it out on our next dine in night. We placed an order over the phone and were told 30 - 35 minutes which is a reasonable amount of time for a Tuesday night and freshly made food. We live a 5 minute drive from the Collingwood location - but my vehicle was in need of service so we could not pick up. An hour goes by and we call to check if the driver was okay and the staff tell us that the food has already left. They also confirm our address which we gave to them again. It is now 1.5 hours after our order was supposed to ARRIVE. We call back again, They repeat the address to us, but said the driver was unable to find it and had returned to the location... what?! Finally the driver shows up. She said she went to the townhouse next door but there was no answer. Funny, because the light next door was off and there was no vehicle at the home. We left our lights on, and the address is clearly marked beside our door. So we get $5 off our order. She was really nice so it was hard to be upset, but $5 off is ridiculous, especially since we ordered extra food for the next day and to already eliminate the delivery fee. Buuuut ... THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. The best I've ever had for takeout, it was incredibly delicious and fresh. Portion sizes are huge. It was so good that the following week we thought we would give it a go again. Our food was 27 minutes past the delivery time, no discount, no apology, no explanation. Same driver. I even called the location to which the girl who answered the phone would only say "Im not sure, the food has left." Sooo basically if you want to eat here, order 2 hours in advance and ask them to repeat the address back to you and give them detailed notes for the driver. Otherwise just pick it up. The innovative packaging separating the rice from the "bowl" was a very nice surprise (especially as we were doing take-out), and the selection was great. After dining here, I can say that it's a miracle that the dive of Wok Box stays in business in this plaza... Rice Bowl is SO much better and a much greater value!! And contrary to other reviewers, I waited a shorter period of time for Rice Bowl than I ever have at Wok Box. We will be coming here whenever the hankering for rice or noodles hits us -- even though it's about thrice as far to drive as the nearest Wok Box or similar. read more

I've been to Rice Bowl Deluxe a few times and am addicted now. The food is great and the menu selection is huge - the hardest part is choosing what you're going to eat. The food is authentic asian cuisine and features different flavors from all over Asia. I bring my friends here all the time, they also have a ton of different bubble teas as well as fruit smoothies, slushies and other drinks as well as frozen yogurt! I highly recommend the Green or Red Curry Bowl...so good! read more

I agree with some previous reviewers that some of the dishes don't taste quite authentically. However, the dishes we tried there were delicious, and aim a very picky eater. Rice Bowl Delux is located in Callingwood area right by my Orthodontist' office. I visit here every 6-8 weeks just before I visit my Ortho. I think of this place as my "last meal" place - the place I choose to go for my last meal of solids before my teeth are cranked into weird new positions and I am left on a liquid diet for many days. I keep coming back to this place for a couple of reasons. First, the service is always friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself is clean clean clean. Last but not least, the food is GOOD! I really enjoy the Pad Thai, Singapore Noodles and the Vietnamese bowl. The menu here is a decent size so there is always something new to try. read more

This is our go to place for Tom Yum soup! I love how fresh and well prepared all the dishes are. Especially the beef. At other places you get just a crunchy pieces of something but not a lot of beef. For the second time in the last couple of months we got home only to discover one of the items we paid for -- pad thai -- was missing. I know wait is a bit long for fast food but if your not in a hurry this place is recommended if you are looking for something authentic Asian with good atmosphere and convenience. Went to Rice Bowl Deluxe, thinking that it was the new location to Rice Bowl Express - previously on 88 ave and 149 St. Upon arrival it became clear that it didn't appear to be the same owners, but that's no problem. The restaurants slogan is "we're not fast food, we're good food - fast" and I love that. The food is really good, I recommend the green curry. Secondly, I love the decor, although I didn't come here with a group of friends, it seemed like a great place to come and enjoy some Japanese or Thai food. A great place for take out. The ingredients are fresh and everything is made to order. The menu offers lots of choices and is varied, so much so it can be hard to pick. The prices are reasonable. Not bad but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for this place. It was pretty empty when my boyfriend and I came in. We shared a tokatsu curry and it was pretty good. There was a nice spice to it but I think it could have benefited from maybe a bit more seasoning to make it more savory. We also shared a passion fruit green tea with boba. The boba were a bit hard in the center and the tea was good but a little too sweet for my taste. The korean fried chicken wings were a bit oily so I wouldn't recommend those. read more
