Wild Wing has been around for many years, and I knew it was around, but got to finally go for the first time. The menu you get on location is much more complete than the one on their website, so you get to see all the flavours of wings that Wild Wing has. It's crazy to see all the flavours of wings that are offered here, it's amazing!!! Dry rubs, saucy, from regular to very hot, BBQ, hot and spicy, you name they got it !! Wild Wing also offers different flavoured sauces from Melinda's Hot Sauces, a sauce company from Belize. Also available at Wild Wing are appetizers, signature fries and poutines, burgers, ribs and tenders. Wild Wing has a great ambiance that many sports bars offers - television sets, on which hockey or other sports are shows. The decor is very nice and cozy, with high table and bench seats. When television sets are muted, the music is turned on (pop and rock music). Service was exceptional and very good. Since it was my first time, I was shown the menu and explained everything on there, as the menu (especially the wing section) is very full and many items are available. We had previously made a reservation as we were a large group. When we arrived, the tables were not set or arranged. There was only one waitress working. It took over 20 minutes just to have our drink order taken. Then we had to wait to order food for another 20 mins. Finally, some of the orders started to come out then a long wait and a few more sadly the food was horrible The ranch dips were spoiled. There wasn't one of the 14 people who enjoyed their meal. We ate at the Edmonton, Calgary Trail location today (Aug 27th). Our wings were cooked in oil that needed to be changed and they were very overcooked. Our onion rings were also overcooked and dripping in grease. Onion rings came out first, 10 minutes later the wings came. Our waiter didn't give us plates or napkins. We had to ask and then only received napkins! Will never go back to this location. Bad experience all around! read more

Not too shabby for my first visit to this chain. When we sat down (I'm not sure if you're supposed to wait to be seated, or seat yourself... but nobody came to greet us so we sat ourselves!) our server asked if we would be watching the fight that night (apparently there was a UFC fight). We weren't... we were just there for wings! We had the potato skin appetizer and it was tasty. Nothing special really but nothing wrong with them. And then we all ordered wings. I went for a combination of teriyaki sauce and medium hot sauce. There was really no spice to them.... I should have gone for a level up. Lesson learned! But the wings were cooked well and the sauces were fine, just not spicy. Our server was very personable and friendly and was not overbearing at all. She kept our beverages full. When she delivered the appetixer, she asked if we wanted side plates. When we said yes (since 3 of us were sharing), she said "I'll check if we have them... no promises!". My friends and I decided to try this wing place with their groupon coupon. It was much smaller than I thought with a few booths and tables in the centre. They ordered wings and fries and onion rings but I wasn't in the mood for wings so I decided to have the chicken wrap. There were a lot of fries and onion rings and after snacking on that, I wasn't sure I could eat any of my meal. The first time they brought out my wrap, they forgot the chicken. I let them know and unwrapped it for the waitress to see, and she brought it back in the kitchen and came back with a wrap with chicken. The wrap wasn't anything special, but I didn't expect it to be. There was ample lettuce, tomato, and cheese. My friends really enjoyed their wings though. There were so many flavours to choose from but they were both happy with their choices. I found the wings weren't oversaturated with sauce but enough to make them flavourful and tasty. No doubt you will need extra napkins and hand washing after eating though. Go for the wings if you are in the mood. read more

The overall experience at nameo Wild Wings was pretty awful. Our waitress was less the helpful, not providing any helpful advice or information on the menu as well as did not interact or check up on us at all during our meal. We ordered both a coffee and a Pepsi however the coffee was barely coffee as it was more hot water then actually coffee. We sent it back and got back a ground filled hot water mess as a second coffee. The same happened with the Pepsi as it was very flat and had very little actually soft drink in it as it was mostly ice and water. We sent it back asking for less ice and telling them it was flat and got the same result the second time. As we got our food, all three dishes were stone cold and barley edilbe. We ordered two inferno burgers and a BBQ chicken burger with lettece instead of the bun, due to allergies. The two inferno burgers did end up making two of us feeling quite ill after eating the very little we did. The chicken burger was also stone cold and the lettuce as the bun was wilted and very tough, making the actual burger itself very uneasy to eat and distasteful. The crispers we received were completely cold and tasted of just grease and salt even with the "seasoning" added in both a dry mix and a dipping BBQ sauce adding no flavor at all. Overall, the entire experience was surprising and quite gross to be frank. I would highly recommend against going to the restaurant. read more

It's been about 11 months since my last visit to Wild Wings as well as my last review. The experience at that time had been atrocious to say the least but we heard the place was under new management and decided to give it another shot. The inside decor got a major face lift since our last trip and I must say it's a definite improvement. There was so little on the walls before and no real theme that it made it seem like they were struggling with their identity but the new western Alberta themed pictures and paraphernalia took care of that issue quite handily. The waitress looking after us was friendly as well as extremely attentive. Our empty drink glasses barely made it from our hands back onto the table before she appeared to offer refills each and every time. She also made the obligatory pass by the table every few minutes to make sure things were tasting good and that all our needs were being looked after. Moving onto the food I must say again how impressed I was. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger and found it to be extremely filling. He did note though that he felt like there was less fries on the plate then the first time we came in and the portion cup they used for his side of gravy was smaller then it was on our first visit. With the gravy however after looking at the menu again we did notice that they adjusted the price down to 50 cents from the original 99 which would explain the decrease in portion size. I had the hot honey wings and found them to be excellent. They have a ton of delicious sounding sauces to choose from and they don't over saturate the chicken which I like. The new management has really turned this place around and even if you have had a negative experience in the past I would strongly encourage you to give them another shot. read more

I really enjoy the wings at Wild Wing. They're large and there are a lot of different flavours to choose from. Many wing places boast that they have 100 flavours, but 75 of them are just different degrees of hot. Wild Wing actually has 101 different flavours and flavour combinations. A lot of them are different types of hot wings, but they're not just a range of mild through to XXXTREME. They're actually different flavours that happen to be hot. Unfortunately, at least at this location, the service isn't great. I've been a couple of times now and the service has always been slow and inconsistent. The servers don't seem to know what types of beer that they have on tap -- they generally need to physically go to the bar and check what's on tap and, during my last trip, actually told me that they had something that they didn't (the menu simply says "Rickard's;" when we asked what kinds of Rickard's we were initially told that they had both Red and Dark. I ordered a Dark and was later told that they don't have this. They gave me a free pint of Rickard's Red to make up for the error, which I appreciated). During my most recent visit, we had two servers. The first was so bad that the other server had to pick up her slack and essentially serve the entire restaurant. I felt bad for her, and she did her best to make things right, but it meant that the service was incredibly slow. I like wings. And I like the food at Wild Wing (at least the fries and wings), but this location really needs to step up their game and hire some good servers. read more

I went when it first opened and wasn't really impressed. I ordered the medium spice wings and fries with cheese and bacon, the wings were very hot and only managed to eat two before I was sweating like a prostitute in church and I was disappointed with the fries which had the wild wings seasoning which didn't taste very good and the bacon looked strange and old and tasted awful. Updated review after coming here for just over 2 years. So? What's new and exciting at Wild Wing Namao you say? What will bring in the people? I have 2 words. Spontaneous Combustion. To explain, Spontaneous Combustion is a hot sauce. A VERY hot sauce. If you're a Scoville fanatic, it rates between 400000 - 750000 on the Scoville scale. (Depending on the review site. I offer: https://tomwebster25.wordpress.com/2010/12/13/spontaneous-combustion-hot-sauce/ ) This is now, at least at this location, their go to SUPER hot sauce. You have your choice between naked, or breaded, or even boneless wings. And if you prefer the wings (Flats) like I do, or the mini drums, they will by all means fill your order to your liking. One of the reasons I come to this place. The other menu items have changed in the recent months so I can't comment on them. However, the wings that I always order always come with a generous portion of fries and the customary celery sticks and carrot sticks, as well as a generous ranch dip. Always fresh. Those are what I use to try to drown out the fire in my face! More explanation of the SUPER hot sauce if I may; NOTE; I have done this to myself and unless you're insane or possibly suicidal, I DO NOT recommend following in my footsteps. Unless you're a true fanatic of SUPER hot sauces, in that case, screw it and see what you're made of. (Please note, all of the following experiences a - d have been performed willingly, by myself, in my own personal home. Nothing in the following experiences are affiliated with Wild Wing.) a) 1 drop (actual drop) on your tongue, starts out with a nice sweet flavor, good heat, then the fire begins and I do not recommend just this one drop alone for virgins of hot sauce. If you're not accustomed to Super hot sauces, then just stop now and save yourself the melted head. b) 3-5 drops. So? You're brave? Are you now? Same nice sweet flavor, good heat, then the fire really gets going. Oh? You're starting to sweat a little? That's normal. That's your body asking you if you made a smart decision. c) 1 teaspoon. So you've decided you're a big boy now and can handle this. LOL. May I recommend a 2 litre of chocolate milk be on standby STAT!? At this level, you get the sweet for only about 5 seconds before the fire of the capsicum extract drives it's fire into your head. You may have a few seconds to contemplate your actual hold on reality and you will suffer. And I mean suffer the heat for at least 20 minutes. It burns in places your mind doesn't want to go. This amount put me on my knees for about 5 minutes. Literally. ON MY KNEES. d) 1 tablespoon. So forget anything that involves preserving your life at this point. This is literally you putting your life in your own hands. I've done this once, and NEVER again will I do this. For the TRUE PYRO, I regret your decision immediately. There's no sweet flavor. You go straight into the depths of hell. Burning all of the way down into a literal state of almost out of your body experience. The burn from the capsicum extract is so intense it blurs your vision. Makes you dry heave, you try to spit it out but you can't. It's already melted the taste buds on your tongue. Except the ones that allow you to experience pain! You're short of breath. Your eyes water like you're ready to jump on this river and float away into nothingness! And then the pain starts for real! It dropped me to my knees. At first and I thought I could take it. Oh HELL NO!!!! (This insanity will last for at least 30 minutes of please kill me spicy HELL!) I curled up into the fetal position and begged for death. This is one experience that I've had my friends actually call an ambulance for. I recovered before they got there, but still. DO NOT FOLLOW IN MY FOOTSTEPS! Amounts of Spontaneous Combustions added to your wings is directly determined by your wing flavor of choice. (90% of wing flavors do not include this sauce.) Please don't be worried. However, if you're insane like me? Well then, I wish your luck. I hope you have your affairs in order. On A final Note, Ask for Al, the owner/manager if you would like more info on Spontaneous Combustion sauce. If you're a true fan, then he's the man to talk to. He can provide info for you, (the hot sauce psycho), to be able to order in your own hell sauce from whatever his supplier is. May we all meet in the recovery room at our local hospital after ingesting it. LOL! read more

So I came here with my girlfriend for lunch, both of us had been curious about wild wing as we had passed it several times and were curious. 1. The building competed for parking space from two other food restaurants as well as a massive shoppers drug mart so parking might be painful on a busy day. 2. When we both stepped in the decor was a hodge podge of themes the walls were bare bones consisting of western silhouettes, the color blue a bare roof to see the ventilation system. 3. Service - when we had entered there were three tables with people sitting two were eating while the third was presumably waiting for their order - great we should have good service - alas this was not the case, after we were seated we had waited roughly 5 minutes to get our menus and another fifteen to actually place our order. I had intended to order the Angus burger with with cheese and bacon for a dollar, the missus had a "wild wrap". 4. The food - after waiting another 20-25 minutes for our meal I was ready to dig in to my burger only to find it was not the burger I had ordered - there was no cheese and bacon - instead when I inquired as to this little error I was told I should have ordered a different, more expensive burger, that included these extra garnishment a. - a bit disappointing , but even more so - the burger itself was overcooked! First off...not to bash any ones review of this place, but somebody obviously doesn't know wings. I've been here multiple times and I love the wings. More flavors then you can wrap your brain around. I've had the dirty nelly, spicy gar par, something medium and maple...and more. I've had atleast 10 flavors and loved all of them. The wing itself is actually large and in charge with enough meat on them to satisfy the price I paid for them. Sure the service isn't the greatest but i have water and wings and flat screen tvs to watch sports...so who needs someone asking "hows your meal today" every 3-4 minutes. Absolutely the best wings in this city. I only eat here for the wings. However my daughter loves that they have so many variations on poutine. They do have a full menu though. Not just wings and fries. I'm a pretty straight forward guy when it comes to wings. Even though they've got 101 or so flavours I'm a franks man. The service at this one is always great. The food is always hot. Not like BP's where it's always lukewarm. But BP's quality and prices have driven me away about 15-16 yrs ago so whatever. If you've got a hankerin for great wings with tons of flavour and a large wing to boot, I definitely recommend any one of the 4 wild wing in our area. This one and the one in Sherwood Park are the nicest ones. I haven't been to the one in Beaumont yet but my brother loves it. So I'll assume it is as nice as the aforementioned. We have been meaning to go to Wild Wing pretty much since it opened and never went until tonight. Our family loves wings, so we chose the Maverick which was 5 orders of wings. We usually prefer dry wings so we got 2 dry - garlic, garlic & lemon pepper which were very, very, very strong and were not our favourites - and 3 sauced, medium, Thai and brown eyed girl, which was our favourite, honey garlic with spices sprinkled on top. All in all the wings were good! We got a couple of orders of fries and a butter chicken poutine to share. Fries were great, gravy was great, poutine was pretty good but it was cold - too cold to melt the cheese - and it had a LOT of chicken this was definitely a meal size poutine! Service was quick and friendly, our server took the poutine off the bill so that was nice. Restaurant looks like they need to update a little, and step up the cleaning, nothing glaringly gross just needs better upkeep of the bathroom cleaning the corners and fixing the door locks etc. We will go back though :) read more

I don't know why other people have such a hate on for this place. Yeah service wasn't the greatest, but who the hell goes to a wing place for service? Shouldn't it be about the food? The wings here were great. The price per pound depends on how much you get. The more you get the cheaper it is. I think the people who get upset about the price are the people who go out for every meal. My wife and I rarely go out for meals (we enjoy cooking). So the price we paid was more that reasonable. So this place is kinda like a pub, in the style of food served, but like a casual diner since families also dine here. Stop in for a fried wing fix, & with 101 flavours to choose from you won't be disappointed. They're huge, crispy battered & well a little pricey at just over $12/lb (you'll get around 9-10 wings per lb) Service is spotty, we had 4 servers in, with maybe 8 tables in use& they were still slow, (a tendency to cluster with the cook & bartender at the bar, rather than checking the customers). as long as you're not in a hurry & have lots of extra $ stop in to try the wings! read more

First, gotta say that I was expecting more of a fast food vibe going in and did not go with friends. Makes for a boring meal but that's on me and the 6 TV's showed the obligatory sports programming. Went on a Friday after work about 5:00 pm and it was not busy; maybe 5 other people besides me but by the time I left the outer ring of booths were all used. Some by families with kids which seemed odd for a place with more of a bar vibe. But I was expecting it to be less of a restaurant/bar than it was so it's a bit like BP that way. Now the food. I had 2 pints of Canadian, a Scuttle Butt burger & fries and an order of Salt & Pepper wings. Total was $35+. Prices I thought were okay, but beer to me is always over priced everywhere and I'm sure in line with other places. The beer was cold and not keg-y so that's good. All food arrived HOT which is something I like as some places (looking at you BP) like to serve meals barely heated).The burger was a very standard bacon/cheese burger with lettuce/tomato. Not bad but definitely not something to write about in depth. I had a burger and that was it. Same with the fries. The wings didn't really do much for me at first, but by the time they were gone... I wished I had more. So good. 2 beer, a burger, fries & wings seemed like a lot of food to order, but it satisfied me perfectly. Maybe because I just got off of work. My new go to place for chicken wings. We ordered through skip the dishes and the wings came hot and so good! I have a gluten allergy and they have a dedicated fryer for the wings and fries. I could have a ton of flavors and didn't have to worry about cross contamination. Our favourite so far has been "Snake Bite" it's a hot and honey mustard combo. My boyfriend couldn't tell anything was gluten free and we will definitely be ordering again. The only thing I wish they would do is post their allergen menu online. read more

Wild Wing boasts a mind blowing menu of 101 flavours of chicken wings! This location is part of the brand new and still growing Namao Centre way on the north side of town. If this restaurant was a human patient and was observed by a psychartist, the diagnosis would be "identity crisis". You walk into the place and see big screen tvs showing sports thinking its a sports bar.......until you listen to The Bounce type music they play over the speakers thinking its a hipster joint.......until you notice all the cowboy/ western paintings and photos they have all over the walls.......WTF? This mish mash gives the place a strange Alice In Wonderland kind of feel. Perhaps they are just trying to accommodate everybody? Once you are handed a menu, be prepared to spend some time mentally debating what type of chicken wing flavour you want as you have 101 options to choose from. Everything from traditional standbys like Peppercorn Ranch, Dill Pickle and Blue Cheese to ones with far out names like She's A Hottie, Daisy Duke, Ring Of Fire and Brown Eyed Girl. I ordered Mac and Cheese Wedgies and a mix of dill pickle/blue cheese wings (I forget the name of those). The food came out real fast and I dug in. The Mac and Cheese wedgies were tasty but real small. C'mon guys, $6.50 for 5 cookie sized patties? Give me a break. Thankfully the wings filled me up, and they were delicious too, but then again I've had bigger sized wings at BP. The good thing is that this restaurant gives you all the "tools" you need to enjoy chicken wings fully, as in each table has a big roll of paper towel and plenty of those lemon scented hand wipes. Despite my issue with some small serving sizes, I'll go back to Wild Wing just to try out their many varieties of chicken wings. Had terrible service for dinner.waited forever to get the bill, no refills, wrong food brought out, didn't get what I asked for. Bills were wrong and couldn't delete items off of it. Just opened on 97th st N.W. This would have been my second visit in 10 days. Points as follows: 1. Under staffed; 2. No specials listed as per their own website; 3. The meal;- three of us had supper (my wife, son and myself) -ordered: 3x pop ($2.95 each) - onion rings ($6.95) -20x traditional wings ($19.99) -20x traditional wings variety platter ($24.00) Ok, the onion rings were plain so nothing different then A&W or any other fast food place (except the price). The wings come with veggies sticks (two each of celery and carrot) basically slivers of a vegetable. The only difference between the "wild wings" and others is the variety of sauces. The sauces are drizzled on or if you expect hot you will find that all they do is sprinkle Cajun or a spice over the deep fried wings. PRICE- final bill was $62 and change The price for wings is absurd, I can think of many other places to go on a Tuesday or any other day of the week. read more
