In terms of food it's pretty much exactly what you would expect from any KFC. The fries however were not as greasy as the other two locations I have tried in Londonderry and City Center mall which was a nice surprise. Also both times I have stopped by the manager was working the till and he came off as a really nice guy. He was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in how my day was going. The staff in the back seemed happy to which made me think he must treat them well which is always nice to see. I generally try and avoid this kind of fare unless im really in a rush or have a bad craving but should that craving hit again while im out in the park I wouldn't mind stopping here again.

Having studied the menu online, I knew what I wanted when I walked in. My choice was the "1 Piece Jolly Crispy Chicken with Palabok Fiesta." With a handle like that, it had to be good. For good measure, I also ordered a Pineapple Quencher, and a Peach/Mango Pie. The menu is simple, straightforward and brief. Not a wide selection, but enough of everything that is good. Quencher was in my hand as I left the counter, and the balance of my meal came out in about 8 minutes. The restaurant was steady, but not busy. I love a good noodle dish, and the Palabok Fiesta was a surprising treat. Great flavours and textures, with well cooked noodles. The chicken drumstick was truly excellent. Crispy on the outside, and juicy within, perfectly cooked. The Peach/Mango Pie gave me 70's McDonald's flashbacks, but it was delicious, and much better than Ronald's pies. The Pineapple Quencher was sublime, but needed some rum. Jolibee is a juggernaut, and it is easy to see why. This was the cleanest fast food restaurant I have seen in ages. The service is friendly and very professional, and the food ranks above most fast food chains of my experience. Jollibee Tamarack is the first fast food joint I have ever given 5 stars. I will say that the Matty Matheson items were tasty. I loved all the sauteed onions on the sandwich. The poutine was good too. Love the gravy and onions. However, the KFC chicken was just okay. There wasn't anything wrong with it. But the number of fabulous chicken places that are 1. Independant 2. Interesting in flavours and 3. Crispy. However, we (my husband and I) dined inside once, and we watched as about 10 people who ordered after us got their food before us. The service was ridiculously slow, but when we finally got our food it was good and hot. I did feel a little jipped though, as several of my tenders were tiny, and very strangely shaped... The second time we went we used the drive through. There were about 5 cars ahead of us in line, but it was very fast, surprisingly! They obviously put more effort into moving the drive through along than taking care of their customers who dine in. This time though, I got normal tenders. From now on, we'll just go through drive through to get our food faster. P.S. the spicy tenders look the same as the plain tenders. The spice layer is directly on the chicken, before it gets battered and fried. Not good or bad, just an interesting way of doing it.
