Great place for a hugeeee burrito -- I got the Cali burrito (w/ Carnitas, their recommendation) and added avocado (ironically not included in a cali burrito). The wait was definitely a little long (10-15 mins) even though they weren't that busy. The carnitas itself was kinda dry, but the combination of flavors made it very enjoyable. There's a park not too far away -- great place to sit, eat a burrito, and people watch on a good weather.

Really good hungover burrito! I got the lunch burrito and i wish i wasn't so hungover that i could have more of the spicy sauce but the fries stayed pretty crispy and it's a massive size!

Overall, it's decent but nothing remarkable. The salsa on the side is great though -- it really elevates the whole burrito. My main gripe is the pricing. Add-ons like guac make the price climb fast, and for a California burrito, it's odd that guac isn't already included. The food comes out quickly, but I'd recommend getting it to go unless you're fine with perching on a stool. It's definitely not a spot for groups since you won't be able to sit facing each other. Overall, this was totally fine. I'd come again but am in no rush to do so.

Grabbed a quick bite from electric burrito for lunch. This location is pretty small so I wouldn't plan on eating there but if you are lucky a spot may open up! I had the California burrito with pollo asado. Great, filling burrito! Definitely recommend! Service was really quick- probably ready within 5-10 minutes

Updating my review, as I've ordered delivery a few other times since my last review and unfortunately, wasn't as blown away. Food arrived cold (pro-tip, turn on the oven while it's in transit so that if you do need to warm it up, it's a little faster!). The guac was just okay. We also ordered extra chips, which weren't in the order. Burritos still solid and a good portion. Was able to save half of it for the next day!

STOP THE PRESS!!! I HAVE FINALLY FOUND ~JUST MAYBE~ THE BEST BURRITO SPOT IN NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is such a hole in the wall, it's so cute inside, free water which is great, and also the food is TOP TIER! My CA burrito is actually tasting like from CALIFORNIA. I'm obsessed. I can't wait to come back. I'm so happy this place exists! Hell yeah to the burrito.

The food was good, the beans they add overwhelm the rest of the burrito but the chorizo was so flavorful. Service was regular fast food service. Ambience was hipster-esque, in line with the culture of the general location (artsy / bohemian)

Highly recommend! Was staying in East Village and wanted a quick burrito nearby. Service was super quick. This place is pretty popular, but never crowded as the orders go by super quickly. It is a pretty small environment with a few stools for sitting, but I took my order to-go. I got the California burrito with Carne Asada as it seemed the most popular, and I was not disappointed whatsoever. Quality was great, and their orange sauce was even better as an additional topping! My burrito came with two condiment cups of orange sauce.

The Hot Rod. It was mid.

Sadly one of the most mid burritos I ever had. We were the only people in the joint, ordered the Hot Rod, and waited nearly 20 minutes for a cold and sad burrito that was falling apart in my hands. The only thing that made it taste slightly good was the salsa that came with it on the side. I guess the carnitas taco wasn't too bad. Oh well.

This is a must try I feel. The food was so good I wish I had this in my home state. This was a cool hipster take on Mexican food. I got the bowl and added carnitas and ranchero shrimp. The carnitas stole the show for me. It was so tender! You get a lot of food for the price also. Service was nice and the person was very helpful with making accommodations. This is a more carry out place with very little seating. I went early when they just opened, but there were about 7 ppl waiting for food. Please give them a try!

You come up and order at the cashier. And after that it's a waiting game.. generally there's a line in the evening. I think my burrito was ready in 15-20min. Very filling! And their sauce is SO good. The burrito came with one small container of sauce, but I had asked them for a second container and they were happy to give more. Extra saucy is the way to go! Their ingredient balance is off and towards the end of the burrito it was just rice and a ton of tortilla. And.. I didn't find crema although it said it was suppose to come with it. I wish they mastered that! Especially because they're a go-to spot in St Marks area. Was it worth it? Yes. Is it the best burrito? No.

East Village, small burrito shop with a menu focused on burritos and tacos. Returned again for their California burrito with carne asada... packed with fries, steak, cheese and pico... yummy and more than enough for leftovers! $15.29 plus tax. just enough counter seating along the walls and window area.

Great place for a burrito! Very small store with stools that face the wall, immediately walking in, what caught my eye was that the meat was super fresh! The guy in there was cutting the meat like it was a butcher and I just knew it would be good just from seeing that and knowing they don't use frozen meat. I got the Hot Rod + my girlfriend got the Johnny, both were delicious. Coming from a person that eats a lot, the burritos here are huge! Left very full and they were very tasty, I loved the breakfast burrito but next time probably would just get the regular breakfast burrito no bacon, with the hot rod it felt like a lot was in it but it was still great

A quick internet search led me to this tiny little takeaway window. There were a few people waiting around for their orders, but the service was quick, and super friendly. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

Decent size Mexican restaurant with some seating in the front and a handful of tables in the back dining room. We started with chips and guac. The guac is large so I understand the price. It was very good. No complaints. The chips could have used more salt though which is always a concern. You'd think Mexican spots would have a tortilla chip down by now. I ordered a steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and had pretty good flavor. I just wish there was more. Especially considering the price. Certainly not a bad quesadilla but the value wasn't quite there. Still, a fine option if you want Mexican food and you are in the area. I'd say the 3.5 rating is pretty spot on.
