The flavors of their "Natural Lemonade" - the cheapest of the bar syrups, "Finest Call". Why lie to customers? Why do this ? Bleghch.

I was accosted by a sign on the sidewalk claiming The Best Birria in New York. Pretty bold. I figured I'd take the challenge. The Good: The Birria itself was decent, although it was more greasy than flavorful. The Bad: After I'd paid with cash, I was informed they didn't have change, so.. I guess I don't get change. Oh well. The UGLY: There was a very polite young lady who took my order, and another young lady who emphatically recommended their flavored lemonade, going off at length as to all the natural ingredients and how it was made on site and all this pomp & circumstance and flowery prose galore - she insisted I'd love it. What I got was a 10 oz cup with ice of some tasteless nonsense with some cheap bar syrup in it. $6 plus tax for absolute trash. Why do this to people ? As I left, I asked the young ladies if the flavored lemonade was just made with the garbage syrup shown in the attached photo, and to her credit, the one who had taken my order was honest and said yes.. then asked how did I know? The other one who had cooked up the tall tale about the "all natural" drink said nothing - couldn't even make eye contact. Okay. The Birria is competent, if excessively oily and under-salted. But there's no need to sell $6 bottles of swill - sell Voss water or some other nonsense at the same price so people can at least drink something good. Oh and get a few rolls of coins FFS. Not giving people their change isn't cool.

Didn't know this opened in NYC 6 months ago. Was excited to try this location. Went to the Plano, Texas location last summer, which I still haven't reviewed. I liked the food at the Texas location better, but I'd have to order the same thing again at this location to be sure. 4/5 guac- really good, wuda been perfect if it was a bit spicy 2/5 birria ramen $13- I feel like the consome was a bit watery, & not as flavorful as the Texas location, also there was 1 huge chunk of beef, which was so dry I almost choked on it. 2/5 Sunrise punch $5- no flavor, couldn't taste any fruit

There is no menu board in this place. People spend forever at the ordering kiosks scrolling through all the little menu items instead of just ordering. These kind of screens have a high amount of bacteria and fecal matter from everyone else's fingers, but it's the only way to scroll through the menus. And tacos are a finger food, so we put that in our mouth. No thanks. The only way to get a receipt is if I give the kiosk my phone number. I shouldn't have to give up my personal contact info just to get a receipt. I get enough spam. I understand they're going for the minimalistic approach with the silly kiosks, but it just doesn't work here.

Very impressive taco spot. The toasted corn tortilla absolutely made the dish. You order from a kiosk and request dine in or take-away. We ordered the birria tacos and the fish tacos. Both were full of goodness. For me, the fish taco stood out, as I've been hard pressed to find good one in the neighborhood. Loved all of the slaw. Bonus for multiple hot sauces with distinct flavors. Room decor is super fun and there is a solid kids menu.

Came by 5 PM on a Saturday and 75% of the tables were occupied. I waited and ordered on a tablet, and then about 5-10 minutes later my food came out. They had a lot of interesting and classic food options, but I opted for my go-to, birria tacos. They were solid! A lot of meat, well flavored, and tasted great. The shop itself is quiet and a nice place to sit and eat with friends, at least at the time I went.

we got the birria 3 pc tacos absolute 10/10 esp after a long day we devoured it. It was sooo goood. Most biria place usually packs the tacos so heavily but this place meat to taco ratio was absultly perfect. The flavors were there and cheese was stretchy and good. Like we loved it, staff was nice too. Place was clean too.

They may well claim to have the best birria tacos but the meat is both chewy and stewy.

Everyone we interacted with was friendly and fast/efficient. We ordered several carne asada tacos and quesadillas in addition to chips/guac. As always, everything was delicious - there's a reason they're so popular and considered one of if not the best tacos here. Similar type of location and layout as their other spots on the city. It's quick, loud, small, but efficient- quite fitting of NY. Always a good time and good food.

While we were waiting,…read moreyou could hear both locals and visitors talking about how amazing this place is, which only made me more excited to try it for myself. The hype was absolutely worth it. The adobada tacos were hands down the best tacos I've ever had. The homemade corn tortillas were fresh and flavorful, and the adobada was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. I also tried the carne asada tacos, which were good but definitely overshadowed by the adobada. Each taco came topped with onions, cilantro, guacamole, and salsa. Just a heads-up--the salsa packs some serious heat! Overall, this place completely lived up to the hype. If you're in the area and don't mind waiting in line, it's absolutely worth it.

The Guac was brilliant! Made the whole dish taste good. Good quantity as well. The lady at the counter was very friendly, despite the lines. Asked her what I should try next time. We agreed on Beef burrito bowl. And it is so close to Grand Central. Will make sense to do a take out here!

Cinco de Mayo landed on my radar when a bunch of us at work were looking for a place to grab some…read morelunch. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.
