Worker claimed she couldn't give a refund because we order 2 side orders of sour cream. I asked her to look at the camera because that's not what we ordered and she refused. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said we need to call back later to speak to a supervisor. She refused to give us a name or a time to call. Horrible service. I went in for a quesadilla and asked for sour cream and an extra sour cream add on. The girl at the counter scammed me of $6 for two tubs of sour cream that I did not ask for. I asked for an extra of the add on which is 95¢. I told her she charged me $6 for sour cream and she said I couldn't get my money back. She was wrong and on the menu it literally says 95¢. Why would I pay $6 for two tubs of sour cream for one quesadilla? She was nasty and rude and tried to lie that I asked for two sides of sour cream. read more

I used to go here when I was a college student in the 90s. Really cheap eats but good food. I always remembered how I liked their steak rice and beans. Decided to take my family and now my kids love it too. Still very good prices. Quesadillas come with a side of salad. Flautas come with rice and beans- I preferred them with less cotija cheese on top so not too salty. The tostada was pretty filling. The torta (sandwich) got great reviews from my son. Rice and beans with fresh pico de gallo and lime is a great side to any meal. The place is small though. We've been lucky to snag the one table inside that can seat 5 of us. read more

Although, everything had a little too much beans for my liking it was all so wonderful and exactly the Mexican food I was craving. Not too spicy but the perfect amount of kick. Lots to like at this East Village Mexican spot. First and foremost, there is a charming back yard to dine al fresco without the burden of noise or traffic. That's sooo unique and wonderful. You feel like you're eating in a friend's yard and that's a great feeling. The food is good and the drinks were fun. Pricing was commensurate for the area -not cheap not terrible. Quick service & dank tacos. 10/10 recommend My friend and I wanted to switch up our regular taco spot and decided to stop by. Paquito's is a small walk up and order type of place. I ordered shrimp tacos & my friend ordered chicken. They were great, fresh ingredients, and came loaded with toppings. At the time we came, there was no inside seating besides the bar facing outside. Then after 5 mins of talking i had to convince them to remake my food that they lost !! I almost hate to write this review because Paquitos is a hidden gem in the city. I am obsessed with this place. This is by far, probably my favorite mexican spot in the city. I am a big "Hard shell" taco kind of girl who also loves a good steak taco. Normally those come on soft tortillas but here I can customize that. It also comes with guac and cheese on the taco. The hot sauce is amazing and the salsa is delicious as well. I am literally obsessed. The only downside for me is that I remember when this place was a full service restaurant. We are from San Diego Ca and we know real Mexican food and this is not it. The food was flavorless and bland, and even the service was horrible. The clerk in the front was neither friendly nor helpful, and everything I requested was followed by a no. The cooks where accommodating and nice, however it was the two clerks in the front that refused to be helpful. I asked for extra salsa and was told I only get one salsa per entree. I ended up with salsas only halfway filled and was charged 50 cents each. I don't know about y'all, but we got salsa bars in our San Diego taco shops, so this was whack. This is very good and very authentic Mexican food. Here is what my girlfriend and I like from ordering delivery today and yesterday. The Cactus Enchilada was amazing and very fresh, the Cheese Quesadilla was perfect with very high quality cheese. The Veggie Chili was hands down some of the best Chili I have had in 50 years. the Vegetable Fajitas was also very good. I would order all of these again many times. Now for the not perfect. The Sweet Plantains were very dry and I think we were just not prepared for them. The Grilled Vegetable Taco Salad was not enough salad and the Taco was very deep fried tasting and not good. The Vegetable Chimichanga was just too deep fried for my taste, the Vegetables inside were very good though. My son also liked his Beef Asada Burrito. I will suggest staying away from the deep fried. Service was horrible! Had an unpleasant encounter with female cashier after changing my order within a minute of my phone call. Although I apologized for the change, she was extremely rude, unprofessional, and combative. When I walked into establishment, cashier proceeded to ignore and not acknowledge me when I approached the register to pay. When I offered professional feedback for her behavior, she was unwilling to accept accountability and instead said "I'm the first person to tell her this" while also rolling her eyes. I only order delivery from here and every experience has been great. The food is delicous and fresh and fast. The delivery people are so great. They usually ask for about 30-40 minutes delivery time during dinner rush which I think it totally reasonable. read more

I was randomly roaming this area this past week and was in need of fuel for the machine. A happy hour special was in effect when I stopped in, I believe it is from 4-7pm everyday. Don't let the front dining area deter you, because at 6:30pm, there was nare a soul to be found in the front, the place looked dead. But the secret is in their backyard garden. Beautiful space in the back and seemed like all the patrons were darting back there immediately. I sidled up to the bar and asked if happy hour was still going on and yes, the Gods were smiling on me. And for $6, you have a choice of sangria, mojito or margarita. The margarita was a very decent size, tasty and well made. While I was peering over the menu, a nice waiter brought me over some chips and salsa, on the house! At 6:50pm, because I am an opportunist, I asked the barmaid to make me another margarita and ordered a quesadilla with jalapenos. They are also sides of cactus too, interesting. And by 7:20pm, my bellly was full, my brain swimming in endorphins and the dent in my wallet was only $20. You really can't beat that here in NYC. Two large-size margs, FREE chips and salsa, and a very delicious jalapeno quesadilla all for a mere $20. Also, they have quite a few vegetarian options, so you didn't feel like you had to be creative to make your meal. Now, I was ready to take on whatever the night had in store for me. Delivery from Paquitos tonight was pretty darn delicious. Went the healthy(ish) route with the chicken and beans/rice + an avocado salad. Let's start with the salad: Great size. A lot of perfectly ripe avocado on top. Vinegrette dressing was yummy and light. Carrots, iceberg lettuce, radish and onions. Highly recommend it. Chicken entree: Also quite large. Portion is enough for two meals. The chicken was perfectly seasoned. The hot sauce they include has a nice kick. Not overly oily or "mushy" like some Mexican places. Ask for extra pico to put on top. The meal was delicious and flavorful without all the cheese, cream, and fried things most Mexican dishes consist of. I'll definitely be ordering delivery from here again! Delivery was fast! There are some Mexican places that are all about the food and many more that are better for the drinks. Pacquito's is definitely fits the latter. Happy Hour is all the rage here, as is their endless supply of cheap margaritas, beers, and semi-strong sangria. And while food usually goes hand in hand with a decent array of happy hour drinks, eating at Pacquito's will usually prove to be disappointing or perhaps fatal by the looks of things. Despite their claims for "authentic and delicious" Mexican food, most everything here is everything but. Soggy enchiladas, flavorless rice, overly soupy beans, embarrassing tostadas, and terrible tacos are thankfully not at all expensive. Food here is on par with the faux-TexMex delivery chains run by Chinos all over the city, and they cost about the same too. The most expensive thing on the menu (carne asada burrito) is still under $10, which for the NYU crowd is just right. I will credit Pacquitos with a good variety of vegetarian options, it's not every day veggie folks are able to choose more than just salad on a Mexican food menu. Cactus, spinach, and peppers are available as burrito fillings and all range from $5-8 each. As long as one gets a wheat wrapped tortilla without cheese, vegan hipsters can go home happy. Service has always been subpar here. The staff can be moody at times, lackluster and apathetic service tend to be the case. Delivery seems to be the one exception in which they do quite well. It's lightning fast and for the most part piping hot. Dominos doesn't have anything on Pacquitos. As previously mentioned, the happy hour and drink-a-thon is where Pacquito's role is best served. During the spring and summertime, the open back area is a great place to chat over a pitcher of sangria or margaritas and a beer or 10. The inside area is as Ladies Man would describe - small and dinky. Drunks from all walks of life have been through here, not a pretty site in the wee hours of the night, so make your next visit to Pacquitos, an after work one. read more

Love Paquito's. I've been eating here for years n years. They use to have other locations but am grateful this one is still around. This is by far the best, authentic Mexican restaurant/takeout/delivery, downtown. I'm addicted to their Pinto Beans n Guacamole especially. Everything is fresh n is delicious here. Paquito's is the epitome of traditional Mexican food. Anyone giving this place less than four stars probably eats some bastardized version of Mexican food. It upsets me to see bad reviews for Paquito's, as the owners are hard working and deserving of their success. If you try the food, you'd realize no one can take away their amazing tastes, quality ingredients, quick service, and great atmosphere. Seriously, from the burritos to the tacos, to the platters- everything is traditional, simple, and tastes of delicious authenticity. What's even more incredible is that they manage to acquire these fresh ingredients daily and keep the prices EXTREMELY reasonable. I really support Paquito's and wish the best for them! read more
