Went twice. The first time they got my order wrong the second time it was correct and it was delicious. Theres a nice sauce bar and the inside of the store was clean. A few stools outside if you wanted to sit or standing tables to eat at. They switch the drinks depending on the day. Ive tried the horchata and the lemonade and they were ok.

The East Village has a fabulous new taco spot that should be on everyone's radar. One of the best tacos in NYC. Don't sleep on their yummy papas and aqua fresca. Pro move: order their specialty, Pirata de Carne Asada (with cheese). They recently added chicken to their menu. Although the tacos have plenty of flavor, you might want to add something from their complimentary salsa/veg bar. Plenty of table space for stand up eating. Pirata Carne Asada $9.95 Bean & Cheese Taco $4.50 Aqua Fresca $4.75

The bar for carne asada tacos just got raised! Tacos Domingo is not playing around. The meat was flavorful, tender and clearly good quality, piled generously onto handmade tortillas that had that perfect char and freshness you can only get when everything is made right in front of you. Every ingredient felt intentional and top tier. What really takes it up a notch though is the topping station which has a solid variety of homemade sauces ranging in spice level plus all the condiments you need to customize your taco exactly how you want it. It's the kind of detail that shows they actually care about the full experience. Late night, quick bite or whenever the craving hits - this spot is the move.

If you know me, you know I'm always on the hunt for great Mexican spots. The past year alone has seen a boom in this cuisine all across Manhattan, so when I heard that this Mexico City-born restaurant opened a store in the East Village, I simply had to stop by. The menu is pared down to 7 options, which, in my eyes, is a great sign. The simpler the better. You can't go wrong with the classic carne asada, of which I ordered two. Turns out, I only needed the one. The taco itself was so generously stuffed with meat that I was full by the end of my first piece. The salsa bar also offered a variety of toppings, including pico and various sauces. While the overall meal was spectacular, the star of the show was the flour tortilla. That alone was tasty, and I could have ordered a bag to munch on. Just that warmed up with butter - *chef's kiss*.

My friend raved about this place. We came on a Tuesday morning around 12:30am. We both ordered the steak taco. It didn't take long to be made. We also got a gist of how the tortillas were being hand made. I was told the tortillas were made differently from typical tortillas. Hence why it had a different kind of sticky texture which enchanted the flavor. Once we got the steak tacos we went over to the toppings bar to put an endless amount of everything on top. I went with the pickled red onions, the spicy white onions, pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa verde & hot sauce. Needless to say I think this was one of the best tacos I've ever had!

I really like this place, Sonora style tacos. I tried the chicken and the steak, flour tortillas (slightly gummy like it's supposed to be!) and has a salsa bar, no places to sit but quick food and overall very good taco! Seems like a great place to grab a quick bite before you hit the lower east side or East Village bars! The service was fast, mostly younger crowd, grabbing a quick bite, I think they just opened recently?

I wanted so badly to love it... as a taco lover and supporter of anything that represents Mexico City. The overview: 1. Tacos are larger and only steak and veg options 2. Pirata is more quesadilla than traditional taco 3. Tacos and salsas aren't packing the largest punch in flavor... 4. Light green salsa is the spiciest. 5. Bean and cheese is on the saltier side. 6. No seating but friendly staff

Tried the regular carne asada taco and it was very bland. Not sure if they forgot to put salt on the beef. Also all the salsas and other toppings were unlabeled. Even with all the sauces the only flavor I got was hot. I think it came from the white topping since it had habanero slices in it. This can't be how they taste in Mexico.

Star of the show here is their homemade flour tortilla Carne asada is good. Sauces are good.Tacos are huge! 2 tacos is like equivalent to 4 normal tacos LOL I was stuffed after 2 tacos.

Tacos Domingo just opened in the East Village and I decided to stop by since I was nearby. The line wasn't that long yet since they just opened, about a 10 minute wait. There are only a few items on the menu so we ordered the bean and cheese taco and pirata de carne asada taco. The flour tortillas are made fresh and so soft. They had a decent amount of filling and there is a salsa bar to top them off. Both tacos were quite good, but got a bit messy to eat. Great spot to have a quick meal or snack at a counter. But be aware, the tacos are quite expensive.

Carne asada tacos. Mediocre. + pineapple agua Fresca

I was walking by Tacos Domingo and having heard about this place I was very excited to try it. Huge let down tbh. I got two tacos and a pineapple agua fresca. The tacos were dripping with salsa water. The meat / tortilla combo wasn't right..some bites were only tortilla taste. The meat wasn't hot and was chewy, I spit out some pieces. I did see that they make the tortillas by hand there but it didn't add much to the already mediocre taco experience. I can get cheaper and tastier tacos at many other spots that have blessed NYC. I don't recommend this joint.

I got caught up in the viral hype when I walked by and saw no line, so I decided to finally try these Instagram famous tacos. Were they good? Yes. Were they worth all the hype? No. The tacos are good, but nothing about them felt groundbreaking, especially considering there are plenty of other great taco spots serving fresh flour tortillas at a much more reasonable price. Paying $7.95 for a carne asada taco and $10.95 for the same taco with cheese felt essesive. An extra $3 for cheese is hard to justify. I ended up spending $20 for just two tacos. That's insane. For that price, I expected something more memorable. The tacos themselves were very simple: a fresh flour tortilla with steak, caramelized onions on the side, and salsa only because I asked for it. Otherwise, it would have essentially been meat and a tortilla for $7.95 The cheese version didn't add much in terms of flavor, and the tortilla actually became soft and soggy enough that it started falling apart while eating it. Also, the tacos were so sloppy. Literally thrown together on a plate. That really annoyed me to be honest. Overall, I wasn't impressed. The value just wasn't there for me. With so much competition in the taco scene, it's difficult to justify these prices for such a minimal presentation and taste.

I hate to give such a poor review, but this was easily the most forgettable taco experience I've had in the city. Comparatively speaking, these were also some of the most expensive in the city. Everything was so bland and flavorless. Really wanted to like it since it was being hyped up on social media, but this was truly bad. Meats were cold and the tortillas were just decent. Toppings lacked flavor and I would recommend skipping.

Expensive. Expensive. Expensive. The food isn't bad, but for a stand up tacos place, I'm not impressed. Decent flour tortillas and hygiene.

Everyone we interacted with was friendly and fast/efficient. We ordered several carne asada tacos and quesadillas in addition to chips/guac. As always, everything was delicious - there's a reason they're so popular and considered one of if not the best tacos here. Similar type of location and layout as their other spots on the city. It's quick, loud, small, but efficient- quite fitting of NY. Always a good time and good food.

While we were waiting,…read moreyou could hear both locals and visitors talking about how amazing this place is, which only made me more excited to try it for myself. The hype was absolutely worth it. The adobada tacos were hands down the best tacos I've ever had. The homemade corn tortillas were fresh and flavorful, and the adobada was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. I also tried the carne asada tacos, which were good but definitely overshadowed by the adobada. Each taco came topped with onions, cilantro, guacamole, and salsa. Just a heads-up--the salsa packs some serious heat! Overall, this place completely lived up to the hype. If you're in the area and don't mind waiting in line, it's absolutely worth it.
