We arrived a little before closing and had the pleasure of getting Gloria as our waitress. She was very nice and attentive. She made sure we didn't feel rushed and enjoyed our meal. She even surprised my son with a flan to celebrate his birthday. read more

I would not recommend frequenting this particular El Torito until they can sort through obvious personnel resource challenges, both front and back of house. We went in, 4 adults and 2 toddlers for an early lunch on the 19th of February. We were told there was a 20 minute wait, said ok, with I peeked inside the restaurant was at 30% capacity. After the 20 minutes we were sat, I counted a total of 7 tables in various stages of their lunch. A waitress came within 7 minutes to take our drink order, then returned in another 5 with the drinks.. so far so good, although a little slow... she seemed unenthusiastic about serving. After the order, it took 45 minutes for lukewarm food (obviously sitting under a heat lamp for a bit) to reach us, and it was pretty awful to taste. Looking around again, I see other tables also bobbing their head for their orders or checks, and only 1 waitress, 1 buss person, a manager and a hostess. In the kitchen, there seemed to be 3 cooks from what I noticed when I went up to complain about the wait times. They were unfortunately understaffed, knew it, and were visibly not happy with their workload. The waitress was Curt when I asked where the order was, and simply replied "it's not ready, I checked, and I'll let the manager know". All in all not a pleasant experience AT ALL. Avoid unless they fix the personnel issues is my recommendation. We will not be going back. read more

Our server Marleni is amazing. Gave us a wonderful recommendation. Enjoying dinner and a drink. Love this place.

We love coming to this El Torito location. Our server Alvaro was prompt and extremely attentive! We enjoy coming for happy hour, the great food and delicious margaritas. We'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

This place is pretty solid. Great Happy Hour deals and coupons area always available. Granted, it is not the most authentic Mexican spot, but the chips and salsa are always fresh and the beer is cold. I also like the wings here. Easy spot for my family and I to get in and out of in an hour. I also like the patio option. I cannot recommend the lunch buffet. It is kind of pricy and the options are not impressive. This is a happy hour spot....Don't try to make it more complicated than that... read more

Fan of new happy hour menu although service is SLOW the majority of the time. So if your not in a hurry, its all good. Shredded beef nachos are mouth watering. read more

El Torito - Coconut pineapple premium margaritas on the rocks baby! Yum. - Mexican Near Me - Cypress, California

El torito happy hour lasts until closing. It's supposed to be a dream, but they only have chosen drinks which are on happy hour. It's either a four dollar wine/beer/margarita and three dollars off the plates on the menus. Any other drink would be regular price. And I sure don't like the happy hour drinks. It would have been okay, but my friend ordered fajitas. They took one hour to get to us. My other friend's beer took about twenty minutes. It's that slow. I would have understood if it was a Friday but it was a Thursday. The chairs at the bar wasn't even full. The speed at this el torito is beyond horrible. My friend ordered an "amf" and they didn't know how to make it. I ordered a grasshopper, they didn't know it either. Another ordered liquid cocaine, they had no idea either. Well, if it's any consolation, I felt that our server was trying, but that didn't console me that much. read more

Based on our most recent visit, have to knock this El Torito down a couple notches purely for service! We went this past Friday evening, and sat in the bar to have drinks and some dinner. The drinks and food were fine; about the same as usual. Unfortunately, the service was really off. We did get our drink orders taken fairly quick after we sat down, but service went downhill from there. It took several minutes to get our drinks. And then we waited for the chips & salsa....and we waited....and we waited...and finally had to request. And then we still waited. Meanwhile, the bartender was asking us every 5 minutes if we wanted to order yet. Finally had to tell him to stop asking, we would flag him down when ready. I mean, we'd like to enjoy our drinks (and maybe a second round) and have some tasty chips and salsa before we're forced to order something from the menu. We finally did order and thankfully no problems with the food. Believe me when I say we are not picky people, so for service to be bad enough for us to notice says something. read more

We come here at least 2 times a month. Food is very good, they have a nice selection of foods to choose from. Our server Gloria is always attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu, and she is very hospitable towards my family and I. I also like the fact that she remembers who we are every time we go in which gives us a family feel and atmosphere. read more

Our waitress was great, friendly and fast service, Griselda was on top of everything. Enjoyed being able to eat inside and they did everything to make it a covid safe environment, as much as they can at least. Would go back in the future. read more

I love going to this location specifically because of their Sunday brunch and Deysi! The brunch has a taco station, omellete station, salad bar, soup and a dessert bar! Something for everyone! Deysi is the best waitress! She is very attentive to making sure we always have enough napkins and we never have to ask for refills! She makes it a point to constantly check on our table in case we have special requests. Definitely a wonderful experience everytime we go :) read more

I was so happy to come to this place for dinner tonight cause we always go to the one in long beach location but It turned out to be a bad experience. Our server Raymond completely forgot my order, he brought my kids plate and grabbed their plate when they're done eating but never bother to ask if we got our order. Then he got a nerve to ask if there's anything else we need. We waited for couple more minutes, but he came back asking again if theres anything else we need, We told him We STILL waiting on our food!!! but this server Raymond said "What Food?" Just Unbelievable!!!! We will never go back to this location again! read more

If you're in the mood for mexican breakfast this place is perfect for brunch. They have all you can eat mexican breakfast selections of all the breakfasts staples like pozole, menudo, ceviche, chilequiles, etc. plus mimosas/bloody Maria's. If you want more of a seafood selection or breakfasts options outside of the mexican breakfast staples Id try somewhere else. The dessert bar is delicious also. read more

Had a good dinner, quick service from Gloria, very kind lady, very helpful, had a good night here.

Marleni was such a sweetheart!! So caring and polite and recommended a delicious choice! Will be back soon!

They really know how to serve you a good time. Our waitress was really fun spoke English and Spanish (along with the majority of their staff). Their menu was big as all Mexican food places I've seen. Expect $25-$45 per person to eat and have some drinks with appetizer. You can definitely East for Less there if you don't get appetizers and alcohol. Food was great. It was cooked in a different manner like i've not seen before. You know good food when you see it. read more

What a great experience. We went here for dinner with my boyfriends family and of course I have to be the difficult one being Vegan... well the rice has chicken stock in it so I can't eat that but I was still able to eat a delicious dinner. Our waiter was Salvador and he was amazing, he took the time to let me know my options and cater to what I could have. I ordered the veggie fajitas and they were amazing. I had to been to another location and it just wasn't service like this. The table side guacamole Salvador made was amazing! read more

I came here on a night when a local high school had a winter formal and the kids at the table next to me were extremely loud. I guess it was the first time they snuck a sip at some margarita and wanted to live it up a bit. I don't blame them for wanting to booze up their dates to have a good time. Most of the crowd here are mid aged suburban couples on the weekends. I have not tried their bar section, but it seemed like it was popping with the football game. I like this particular location because its secluded from the busy shopping malls, and has an entire lot to itself. Its located in a business district, so I can imagine it gets busy during the lunch hours. I only came here during the weekend evenings, and I have had no trouble finding seating immediately when I show up. This location has a window infront of their kitchen and you can see the chefs scrambling around to prepare the food. I thought that was fairly neat and unique. The customer service here is usually outstanding since there seems to be a longer wait time for food to be prepared. The waiter made sure our wait was as comfortable as possible. I gotta give him props for that. El torito's food is pretty much prepared the same and tastes almost identical from location to location. Expect to pay about $10-15 per person when coming here. I recommend coming to this location simply because it's easy to get in and get out. read more

One of the best Mexican restaurants I frequent! Love the food and the service is great. Plenty of coupons for discounts on your meals are available through either the Sunday paper or by joining their fan club on-line. Go there sometimes just grab some drinks and enjoy the karaoke singers. Always come out stuffed...lol! Highly recommend! read more

Have been here several times, mostly for happy hour. Food is pretty good and the drinks (margaritas) are a great deal during happy hour. The bar area is really noisy and hard to find seats but it is also the only place you can order from the happy hour menu. We had their appetizer platter (really good and filling!), enchiladas, sizzling shrimp plate, and a couple other items throughout the times I've been there. Definitely a great place to visit for good mexican food. read more

Absolutely love this restaurant! We practically come here every Saturday. I always order the carne asada steak burrito and it is absolutely delicious! We always request Esperanza as our server, she's the best and she's the main reason we continue to come here for dinner. She's very fast and assures that we always have refills. I've never had a waitress as attentive as her! read more

And obvi the food was danknessss! Everything was great, can't wait to come back next Sunday. read more

This El Torito location has been our go-to for many years. We have come to appreciate it even more during the covid-19 pandemic. Tonight Gloria was our server. Although she wasn't assigned to our area, she saw that we had not been tended to and took the time to make sure we were taken care of. We have had her several times before and she is always a pleasure. She is a hard-working dedicated employee. We truly appreciate her. Thank you Gloria! See you again soon! read more
