Unsafe Conditions, Dismissive Management & Unnecessary Security Call I was dining at Thirty Acres Kitchen inside the Knott's Hotel when water started dripping directly from the ceiling onto me. There was also standing water on the floor with no wet floor signs, barriers, or any warnings whatsoever. This was a clear slip-and-fall hazard in a busy restaurant. I calmly brought it to the attention of the manager on duty, Julie, and pointed out how dangerous it was--especially for guests using wheelchairs or with mobility needs, this was particularly concerning. Instead of addressing the problem, she dismissed it as "not a big deal," refused to complete any incident report, gave me a negative attitude with a mean facial expression, and then called security on me as if I was the problem. When the young security guard arrived, he asked for my ID. I politely refused and explained the situation calmly--he looked surprised but not defensive. I have photos documenting the ceiling leak, standing water, and lack of signage. This experience was disappointing and unsafe, especially from a hotel restaurant attached to a family theme park. Management should prioritize fixing hazards and training staff to handle legitimate guest concerns professionally rather than escalating them. I hope Knott's / Six Flags investigates and improves. This place is just fine if you are staying in the hotel, or if you want to grab something to eat after visiting the park. They have enough food options to cater to many tastes. Their prices are reasonable as well, especially considering that it's attached to a theme park. My only issue is the food isn't very flavorful. I got nachos and they were just OK. My husband got a burger and he said it was good. The fries were good. Service is quick and friendly. You do not need to stay in the hotel to eat here. You don't even need to visit the party here. My family and I ate at Thirty Acres Kitchen twice during our stay at the Knott's Berry Farm resort, once for dinner and again for the breakfast buffet in the morning. This restaurant is a hidden gem (super stunning decor) and one of the best hotel restaurants I've ever eaten at. They have an incredible selection and prices are decent. The breakfast buffet is well worth the price with a wide range of options. Service was great both times we ate here and I would absolutely return again. We used to love this restaurant before the renovation and changing to Thirty Acres. This was our first visit back. I don't know if I would return. The atmosphere was great and I love the decorations and updates they made to the restaurant. It looks beautiful. Service was beyond slow. I think our dinner at 7:30pm or so took about an hour and a half. That is asking for disaster with 4 young and tired kids after a day at Knott's. The food was pretty good, but insanely expensive. They used to be pricey but also not crazy, not anymore. Both food and drink prices went up significantly. I love their bbq boysenberry salad usually and it was still good, but way too much boysenberry, and made it way too sweet. Went to Thirty Acres Kitchen on a Wednesday evening around 730P. It was fairly busy. We waited for 15 mins (party of 5) This was my kids first time going to this restaurant since they remodeled. It has nice decor and cozy feel. Our server, Enrique got our drink orders and returned promptly. He was nice and offered recommendations on popular choices My husband ordered the Cajun Salmon with garlic broccolini and roasted potatoes. He also got Broccoli Cheddar soup included. I had the Wagon Wheel burger (Angus beef with jack cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado on brioche bun) & fries. Before we could check in to our room, mid afternoon, we decided to try out the restaurant. I had already purchased vouchers for their breakfast buffet during our stay and wanted to try the food. The food was good and the service was outstanding. The breakfast buffet the next morning was good but not great. The potatoes were over-spiced and several items were slow to be replenished on the food line. But it was good for the price. ($20 each) After an awesome day at Knott's, later in the evening, we decided to stay in and go back to the restaurant. Big mistake! It took 25 minutes to get our food! (Only one other table occupied in the restaurant) I sent my caesar salad back as cheese had been dumped on top and the croutons were red hot! WHAT! Croutons are not suppose to be spicy! The waiter apologized repeatedly and said the manager told him to adjust our bill, which he did, but we never saw a manager. I have never ever sent back a meal. The next day for breakfast, we went down for the buffet before checking out. There was a line as there was the day before. I requested a booth. As soon as we were called, we returned and waited. A hostess, assumed, proceeded to guide us to a table in the middle of the room. I said, I requested a booth to which she responded, I gave the booth to a larger party,(by 1 person) and I asked her why she would do that as we have waited the same as everyone else! She said we could return to que and wait. I asked for the manager. She stated she was the manager. I told her she was a bad manager! And I meant it! In any service business, you do not show preferentially treatment! That causes problems and she obviously didn't know what she was doing! She infuriated me to the point that we walked out and went to the front desk to complain and leave! I was refunded the voucher fees and we went somewhere else! My family and I have been visiting Knott's for many years, and we always enjoy dining at Thirty Acres. We were longtime guests when it was Amber Waves, and the hotel continues to be a beautiful place to visit. The food has always been enjoyable, but with the recent breakfast menu changes, the dining experience has truly reached another level. We heard there is a new Chef introducing updated menus, and after our latest visit, we are excited to come back and try more of the new offerings. We also can't wait to see what new boysenberry-inspired items will be added to the menu. In addition to the excellent food, the staff and management consistently provide outstanding service. The manager, Julie, was incredibly kind and took the time to stop by our table to make sure everything was going well. Had a friend in tow who was staying at the Knott's Hotel, so we figured we could give this place a try - I'm glad we did! The burgers were on point! I got the Thirty Acres Burger with the sunny side egg and bacon, and man was it good! The burger was cooked proper. The egg perfectly runny, but not overly so. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the burnt ends appetizer we got was also quite good! Their boysenberry cocktail drink menu is also filled with tasty options as well, which is unfortunately why this review has no pictures as we were having such a good time I forgot to snap any. :P The servers were friendly and were quick to check on us and keep the drinks coming - they were well staffed, and things were flowing perfectly. The ambiance is new and clean, I know it's a year or so old now, but it's clear they keep the place up. Lots of seating, and the restaurant is attached to the bar so it's about as close as the kitchen is. Context: My husband and I dined here on a Thursday evening during happy hour. There is no posting about happy hour unless you go online. We had to ask for the menu. There were a total of 3 other families eating in the normal restaurant the entire time we were there. Not busy at all, more awkwardly empty. Pros: Free parking located in front of hotel. The restaurant is beautiful and very clean as it was recently renovated. Our bartender made great strong drinks. Service was good. Cons: Pickles were so good, but didn't coming with dipping sauce, we had to ask, and are overpriced for being pickles, even on happy hour. I love sliders and these sliders were not it. The meat was prepared like a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Onions were crunchy and buns were toasted, but the overly flavor of the sliders were lacking and on the dry side. I also expected these to be on happy hour and they were not. My husband's pizza was super floppy, like bar food pizza, not $16-$25 pizza quality. On Thursday night, I had dinner with my buddy here. It was my first visit and I made reservation on Open Table. It was spacious with a large selection of tables to choosing from. I liked the menu and the variety of American dishes. Burgers, BBQ, steaks, pizza, salads, and more... Ivette was our server and she was happy and smiled the entire time. I ordered a filet and my buddy ordered the rib eye(I think). We were stuffed. The chicken tortilla soup was on point as well. Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert. Our most recent visit was during Christmas break, my daughters, husband and myself came in during breakfast and decided on one of their holiday themed meals of the gingerbread pancakes and I decided on a breakfast sandwich and holiday eggnog. Both were great and the drink was a tasty treat to start the day. I will say service was a bit slow. It took 20 minutes just to get a refill on coffee and some water. So we stopped at the Knott's bakery for boysenberry pie and turnovers, and we were looking for a salad spot. It is in the same parking lot as the Knott's hotel. It is very farmer chic in terms of decor and it was decorated so beautifully for the holidays. It is a very calm and relaxed restaurant with a full bar. We ordered the Cobb salad, bbq chicken salad, and bbq rib tips with fries. It was delicious and the salads were made with fresh greens and vegetables. They were perfect portions. The rib tips were tender and easy to eat. The fries were seasoned and crispy. We also ordered the boysenberry swirl cheesecake, which was a great ending to our meal. I do miss Amber Waves but glad that Thirty Acres is there and the bar is open back up. The food changed a bit but they do still have some favorites such as the daily soups, apps, and pizzas. The burgers are pretty tasty as well. We usually grab food and drinks and sit at the bar. There is plenty of seating around and a nice remodeled patio with a good amount of outdoor seating. The staff is as wonderful as ever, super friendly and helpful and the service is great. They really make you feel like you are at home. And they make some mean cocktails. This excellent eatery is located inside Knotts Hotel but you don't need to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy a meal here. Free parking is available in a designated area outside the hotel in front of the restaurant. I met a friend here for lunch on a weekday and there were only a couple other tables being served while we were there. We sat in a comfortable booth and I liked the relaxed country vibe of the place. I was initially disappointed to find out no alcohol is served until dinner; I was excited about trying some of the drinks Chris D. mentioned in his review. So I settled for a Knotts Berry Punch, a boysenberry (non-alcoholic) punch that was fantastic. As a lunch entree I chose the pulled pork sandwich which came with fries. I appreciated the bun not being overly large but the enormous amount of pulled pork, crunchy onion straws, and bleu cheese coleslaw overflowed onto the plate. I was able to pick up and eat the sandwich and then eat the massive overflow on the plate with a fork. It was delicious although the touted "bold" bbq sauce was barely there. The fries were excellent. Almost full, we both decided to share a dessert and opted for the caramel apple crunch cobbler. Amazing. A warm, crunchy apple cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream covered in caramel sauce and a cookie on top. Each bite made me weep tears of joy. Service here was top shelf and I'm embarrassed to say I've forgotten our waitress's name as she did a magnificent job and I would have liked to have given her special recognition. I'll definitely be coming back (next time for dinner and the boysenberry booze). *** Note: on a subsequent visit I enjoyed a Boysenberry Mule, an excellent cocktail. After reading the reviews from other Yelpers and Chris D., my wife and I were craving some good burgers for lunch on Sunday and decided to try out Thirty Acres Kitchen. I'm glad we did. For an amusement park hotel restaurant, they make some really good burgers. It was mostly empty at 11:00 a.m. and the place is very clean and has nice booths. They asked us how we would like the patties cooked and we both said medium. They were cooked medium well. Next time we will ask for medium rare (LOL!). The battered fries were very good too. I've been twice now and can say I'm a fan. It's in the Knott's Berry Farm hotel. Parking is free and the restaurant is on the right hand side of the lobby. There's booths, tables, and a long bar. Since this restaurant is pretty new and I have barely seen another human being eating here everything looks and feels brand spanking new. Even the little folder they bring your bill is doesn't open so easy because it hasn't been opened enough to stretch out the folded part. As somebody who grew up with Knott's Berry Farm annual passes followed by working there for 6 years it has a warm spot in my heart. I also love everything boysenberry probably due to the brainwashing I was subjected to in those 6 years. This restaurant has a whole menu of boysenberry themed cocktails, boysenberry entrees, and boysenberry desserts! First visit my wife and I took my mom who's also a boysenberry nut. My wife and I ordered the boysenberry BBQ chicken salad which was loaded with bbq chicken, roasted corn, black beans, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, avocado, tortilla strips, and croutons. It was served with a chipotle dressing. Seriously good stuff and a huge portion. My wife and I both really enjoyed it and I would order again. My mom who's a vegetarian was happy to see any of their large variety of hamburgers could be made with a veggie patty so she ordered a burger with fresh cut fries and loved it. My mom and I finished with a boysenberry gelato which was delicious. I had the boysenberry margarita which was good but the tajin seasoning didn't really pair with the boysenberry flavor but it did pack a big punch and I was buzzin'. My wife had the boysenberry spritzer which was seriously tasty. Second visit a few weeks later I started with a cup of "chili soup". Sounded odd but I love chili. It's exactly how it sounds, watery chili. Still, it was chunky and I actually liked it. Was heavy on the chili seasonings but I can see some not liking it. For my entre I took a gamble and ordered the salmon. For $27 this was a huge portion and I was surprised how good it was. Huge slab of skin-on blacked salmon covered in cajun seasoning. It was topped with two shrimp and a cream sauce. Then I was able to pick two sides, I went with broccolini and bluecheese coleslaw. I really loved it and thought it was a great deal. My wife had their pulled pork BBQ sandwich and swapped the fries with a side salad. I took a few bites and thought it was great. For drinks I had the Boysenberry Smash and my wife had the "Sip of sunshine". Again, we were buzzin. Good pours here. You'd assume this would be some crappy tourist trap but honestly it's a really good restaurant! I've been twice and can't wait to return again! Prices are average for restaurants these days, service great, easy parking, and comfortable atmosphere. You'll feel like you rented the place to yourself since you'll most likely be the only people there! Also on OpenTable if you want to earn some points! Decent breakfast but a bit pricey at $40 for pancakes and fruit (they even charged me $5 for a "fountain drink" for tap water. They said it was "filtered". You are better off buying a bottled water from the store next door. Oh, and my tap water had a hair on it. Pancakes were $13.75 for 3 (tall stack). The short stack is like $2 less. Fruit plate was good. They do a Knotts discount so remember to scan your code. (This restaurant is open to non guests as well). Their bar is open pretty late (midnight on weekends). But, no kids meals at a kids hotel? How is that possible? (I called). This hotel also has no microwaves. Outback and Olive Garden have kids meals to go near by. And there's also portrillos w hot dogs etc. Just remember not to get the $6 Olive Garden to go meals due to no microwaves at the hotel... They have a shortened breakfast express menu to put on your door. They have room service as well as dining in. Room service was 40-45 min whereas to go was 20 for breakfast. We have not been here in a while so we went to lunch and my husband had a French Dip Sandwich and I had the Colby Salad it included chicken hard boiled egg tomato's bacon crumbles and chicken. I requested to have romaine lettuce only because usually it's a salad mix and I got the apple vinaigrette dressing. There was not so much chicken but it had a lot of tomatoes and bacon crumbles and a lots of romaine lettuce. I could not taste apple in the apple vinaigrette. Since we were planning on a day of roller coaster rides at Knott's Berry Farm, we opted for individual breakfast entrees. The restaurant is beautiful and we were seated right away. Kids drank apple juice and orange juice and we started with mugs of coffee. Our server was very friendly and attentive make sure our drinks were topped off and bringing over the toast with whipped butter and boysenberry jam. We ordered the country sunrise omelet and the chicken fried steak, and the kids shared a breakfast burrito. The country fried steak was perfectly cooked and smothered with gravy. This place is a fantastic addition to the Knotts Hotel! It has some incredibly quick service and amazing food! Plus the prices are honestly not awful for it being a theme park hotel. I'll start with the service. It was very good. No issues there at all. But the FOOD. The food was NOT good. Large family lunch for the holidays. Nobody was happy with their meals. Rodeo steak was served cold. The "cowboy butter" was a margarine mess. Bleu Cheese Cole Slaw was meh. Others had sandwiches and egg rolls. Nobody was happy. read more
