We went here for brunch on Sunday morning, and overall, it was a very satisfying experience. The restaurant was quite busy, but the restroom was surprisingly clean considering the number of customers. The food was also delicious overall. The Very Berry Salad dressing was a little too sweet for my taste, but even without the dressing, the vegetables were fresh and tasted great on their own. A great dog-friendly brunch restaurant near knotts berry farm! The servers were very nice and food came out relatively quickly. We got the wild west burger, chicken and waffles, and choice of 2 benedict's, the border and sope. The wild west burger came with onion rings, which were hard and stale. the burger only had the bbq sauce in the middle, so only that part was flavorful. We would not get this again. The chicken and waffles were okay, the chicken was dry and was like it was fried and just sitting on the counter for a long time. The benedicts were the best option we ordered. We enjoyed the flavors of both of them. Overall the fried items we got were not fresh which showed in the overall feel of the plates. We just liked the benedicts. read more

Let me start by saying how much I love Broken Yolk, I have been to multiple locations over the years and this one fell extremely short of the standard every prior location has set. To begin, I joined the wait list prior to leaving my house, I was given an estimated wait time of 18-32 minutes. I arrived about 20 minutes after joining the Yelp wait list and was 3rd upon my arrival. I checked in and waited about 10 minutes when I noticed the hosts were calling names underneath mine, which was now 1st on the waitlist. When I brought this to their attention, they told me the other names were waiting longer than me, in person so they take priority. I had to wait another ten minutes before we got seated. By the time we were seated we knew what we wanted and ordered right away. Around the 30 minute mark of waiting the server apologized for the wait explaining the kitchen was backed up. Finally after 45 minutes after ordering we received our food, cold and extremely bland. The sauce on the chilaquiles was so watery and pale. It looked like it was water with a hint of tomato juice & the chips were so soggy they weren't able to be picked up with a fork. The pancakes were so cold that you could barely cut them. I would choose the fullerton location even though it is 15 minutes farther away from me because the service is quick, attentive and the food is so delicious every time. read more

I grew up in San Diego, but moved to Los Angeles in 2020. I grew up going to the original Broken Yolk location in Pacific Beach, which opened in 1979 and was sad to see that when I left San Diego there are not many Broken Yolk locations close to me in West LA. This is actually the closest one. This BY is a giant one and located right across the street from Knotts Berry Farm. Parking is also extremely easy. There is a giant free parking lot attached on site. Service was very friendly and as usual everything that we ordered came out very fast. As mentioned this place is gigantic so it can host many different sized groups. For this visit, I did one of my favorites, which is the Build Your Own Omelette, but I also enjoy doing the Eggs Benedict and many other different dishes. I think this is one of the best breakfast and brunch options in Southern California and I look for it every time that I travel. I love seeing a San Diego restaurant outside of my hometown. I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone. read more

I came here with my parents on a Saturday around 10am. Everyone was very polite and attentive. When we asked for a table, the host asked us if we needed any kids menus. When we were seated, the server asked us if we were celebrating anything today. My dad got the Ranchero Skillet. My mom got the Classic French Toast. I got the Betty's Southern Biscuit & Gravy with sausage and hashbrowns. This might sound unappetizing, but I mean it in the best way. My dish reminded me of a savory cake. I was ready to dig in with a knife, but the biscuit was so soft and fluffy, it just needed a fork. Our food took about half an hour to arrive, but we barely registered the wait. The wait was long but understandable because it was a Sunday. Our server only took our order and didnt really check on us at all. We gave him grace cause it was Sunday but nope didnt show. Towards the end he helped us put our food in to go boxes which was kind. The crepe was a no because it was gummy with no thin Nutella spread inside and the 3rd bloody Mary on our flight....the salted sea salt rim was very overpowering. We were debating whether we should go to ihop or broken yolk. We got pancakes and waffles with sausages and some sides. It was very disappointing as these were just plain flour with no taste, both the waffle and the pancake. We were craving for these but had a very hard time stuffing them in because not even the butter nor the syrup helped bring out the flavors. The sausage was good as it was the only one with flavor, but it wasnt a pleasant lunch. read more

Met some of my friends here for a brunch. Good noise level and cute art on the wall. Two of us wanted chilaquiles and were looking at the small lunch portion. We said that we were starving and could eat a lot, so our waiter, Evelio, talked us into the normal bowl. Thankfully he did, I may have still been hungry after. Can't go wrong with a good brunch spot! They have a large variety of brunch options from eggs Benedict, classic breakfast, pancakes, to lunch options such as burgers, salads, and soups. They also have a wide drink offering from coffee selections, smoothies, to of course mimosa flights! I got the golden state Benedict which was my favorite combination of bacon, avocado, tomato, and poached egg. I did ask for the sriracha on the side so I can control how much I get in each bite & it was delicious! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, large clean open space with a modern feel to it. Our server was friendly and the service was fairly quick despite it being packed when I went. Came here on a Saturday morning at 11am. The parking lot is pretty tight and hard to find parking. We ended up parking elsewhere and walked. We were able to add ourselves on the Yelp Waitlist so that was helpful! Food and service were good. I ordered the breakfast Sunset Trio ($18.95) which consists of: Tiki Toast, French toast and Cinna-cake. I made it a combo for $4.95 which is scrambled eggs n bacon. The Tiki Toast is made with Hawaiian bread and is pretty good. The fruit on top made for great pairing. The French toast was excellent as it had a crunch on the edges. The texture made it so delish. I would just get this next time. The cinna-cake was very small and a bit too sweet. It did taste just like a cinnamon roll. Everything tasted very good. The place was very busy so it took a while to get our food but the waiter did give us the heads up so it was all good. The place is very spacious with lots of tables and some booths. There is both booth and table seating available. The churro french toast is unlike anything else out of all the brunch places I've been to. It's the fluffiest and sweetest. The cream cheese icing is amazing with the cinnamon and sugar. The whip cream starts sliding off since the toast comes out hot, but it definitely pairs well with the icing, syrup, and french toast. The ranchero skillet comes with sauteed potatoes and egg on top. It was a good size for singular brunch or sharing! The french toast qualifies to be the best I've ever had. Every bite was full of flavor thanks to the creamy and savory hollandaise sauce. All of the fresh ingredients matched well with the applewood-smoked bacon that was thick and juicy. The Sweet Trio lets you try a slice of each of their most popular toasts: Tiki Toast, Crunchy French Toast, and Cinna-Cake. All of these are very sweet, but also great brunch/dessert foods! My favorite was the Good Morning Burger, which came 1/2 lb beef, sunny side up eggs, bacon, cheese and more. The quality of the beef was absolutely incredible, and it paired very well with the bacon and eggs. It was as if breakfast and lunch had a perfect dab with each other. Went with my niece and her boyfriend to the broken yolk in Buena Park today and it didn't disappoint for a second time. Sat in the outside patio where we were seated very quickly. We've been here a few times. The parking lot is tiny so we go early (before 10am), otherwise we have to leave because there's no parking. Anyway, the place is spacious and food arrives quickly and servers are great. We last went close to Thanksgiving and they were all dressed in costume. I think it's fun! The staff & service here are wonderful! The restaurant is bright & tidy, good music playing in the background. I had coffee with whipped cream to start, great cup of joe. Ordered the steak cooked medium, but it was well done & I was on a time crunch--the eggs were good, the red & green salsa were great, however the potatoes were very bland. I ordered a biscuit with gravy on the side--the biscuit was dry, gravy lacked flavor. The woman who helped me was wonderful and attentive, unfortunately I did not get her name--the man that brought my meal to the table was very kind and helpful.
