Great barbacoa tacos! And an awesome salsa bar with a great variety of flavors. They even have pancakes that I got for my son and they were delicious! read more

Best tacos I've ever had. They actually taste like authentic Mexican tacos. Its a great place for a late night food run and prices are perfect for a college budget. staff is very nice . sometimes orders take a while because its so busy but the wait is so worth it. I definitely recommend the six taco special and the gringa. 10/10 read more

The flavor was good, but the taco shells were tough to bite and chew and the meat was way too greasy. Place was alright probably won't go again read more

Try the gringas, they are toasted cheesy tortillas filled with any of their tasty fillings like chicken fajita or spicy pork pastor with pinapple. They fresh made salsas will teach any good white person a lesson! --Super spicy roasted slices of jalapeno, tangy green sauce, and the firey roasted salsa are of the highest quality! You must order homemade agua fresca; Horchata with sliced strawberries, melon not too sweet, and super yummy pineapple goes wonderfully with the firey salsas! read more

OMG!! finally some authentic mexican tacos! we had bistek tacos, queso con chorizo and frijoles charros. THE BEST.

Barbacoa and carnitas tacos were good. The chicken soup was terrible. Dry chicken and the broth had little taste.

Freakin Awesome! Love all the sauces to choose from; this place is also (Mexican Friendly) which means they also speak Spanish, and their is none of that Tex-Mex bullcrap here. Straight up traditional Mexican food; I always go when I am in the area. read more

Delicious Authentic MEXICAN food .ALL of it is great but THE "ESPECIAL with carne asada " is mouth watering . Their salsa is amazing . now this place gets packed so make sure you drink a cup of patients when you go there because it soooooo worth the waiting . Its open late after hours in case you get a late night craving . read more

My daughter and I paid a visit on Monday around 6:30. The restaurant wasnt very crowed, that being said we waited for approx. 30 minutes for enchilada and nachos; my daughter fell asleep at the table. Once my order was finally ready they forgot the nachos so we waited an additional 10 minutes. Also food was a bit pricey in my opinion. I would have given them 5 stars because the food was great but the service suck. My advise, spend less time socializing and more time catering to your customers. read more

COCKROACHES everywhere. I mean this place seemed dirty anyway but that really disgusted me. I had to make my order to-go. Bad impression, I should have reported them. read more

Wonderful customer service, everyone was I encountered was positive, helpful and in a great mood. The food was excellent too. Had 3 different types of tacos, all wonderful. Might try the corn tortilla next visit. read more

I'm from the valley, so I know what these tacos are supposed to taste like. I get the bisteak especials with cheese, grilled onion, and avocados. They're delicious and I wish I could order more without having to be rolled out of there. The aguas frescas are pretty good unless you're served the pulp at the bottom. I've had a few other things that were good, probably one of the more authentic places you're going to get in central Texas. They're getting a 3 bc the place is always DIRTY. Not necessarily the dining area, but the back by the bathrooms is extremely unpleasant. read more

Be prepared to measure the wait to receive your food on a geologic time scale. Seriously, a street taco plate and two additional tacos take 45 minutes from ordering to serving? I personally witnessed 10 people waiting in line bail because they couldn't even place their orders. To their credit, we were offered free chips and queso after inquiring about (abort?) the long wait. The food is actually pretty good and the place is within walking distance of my house. But unless they fix their fundamentally flawed kitchen turn around, I'll be walking elsewhere for Mexican food. read more

Over a half hour wait after I ordered to receive my food. People were being served past Nmy number before I even received my food. One even with the dish I ordered. Very poor customer service. Come to find out they discarded the ticket. When I got my food, the chicken tortilla soup is nothing more than chicken noodle without the noodles. Nothing like any other tortilla soup I've ever had. Then on the "especial 6 taquitos" then only put five on my plate. I wouldn't recommend to anyone based on their service, food taste, and counting abilities. read more

The freshest ingredients, and the best, most authentic Mexican food around. If you don't try this, you're missing out!

This place is going down to the trash the tacos are small and expensive, chairs are uncomfortable NO air conditioning, the food takes time to be served and when finally is served cold-bad service bad NO attention to detail, as small straws that are lost inside your bottle? WT?? food bad and dry I do not recommend this "restaurant" read more

The food here is so good and affordable I had to give it a five star rating. they also have good rice water .....its a sweet drink..... it might be you're next favorite drink on a nice sunny day.... read more

Best Mexican style tacos in Austin hands down, with a great casual atmosphere, affordable prices, and a menu that warrants multiple visits. The only downside was the customer service; they didn't give me chips with my meal until I asked (they're supposed to come with every meal) and this happened both times I went there. They also took over five minutes to take my order. But, it's a worthwhile wait for some of Austin's best and most affordable Mexican food. read more

I went here while I was visiting friends in Austin and WOW this place has amazing tacos served at amazing prices. The fajita chicken taco was my favorite but judging from my friends' plates, I really don't think you can go wrong with any taco from here. read more

Came here with a large group... Not the best Mexican food I've had, but was authentic. Girl behind the counter was not helpful AT ALL. Better tacos can be found at food trucks downtown.. read more

Very casual cafeteria serving Mexican street tacos and other dishes! Very very good tacos. This is my favorite place to get tacos in Austin. I always call ahead- if you are dining in or taking it to go- you may order by phone and eat there too! read more

SO good! The mango and chamoy margarita was delicious. Definitely worth what you pay!

Want to wait 30 minutes for four tacos? This is the place. There's at least eight people behind the counter and only two of them ever working. The wait is not worth it for average tacos. There's about half a dozen other taco places down Riverside to try. read more

Okay, let me begin by saying that the food is actually pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best in Austin, but it is good for a taco place, specially considering that most taco places aren't very good. Great food aside, I'll just say that the service is not all that great. Maybe it's the fact that one of the times that I went it was at 2 a.m. after a night of going out. However, the women's restroom is right in front of a door that says "Employees only" not "Caution door opens out". Needles to say the supervisor of the place, a man named Jesus (he wouldn't give me his last name) opened the door hitting me (pretty hard) and instead of apologizing he said I shouldn't be standing there in the first place. Then when we proceededt to order he told our cashier something we couldn't hear and the cashier was pretty rude. Perhaps during the day they don't assume everyone is inebriated and actually treat their customers respectfully. I know that we are reviewing the food and atmosphere, but based on my personal experience I can say that the food is great but the service is not. read more

good tacos. they need to add lengua tacos to their menu. Been to the location in Round Rock i can't wait for this location to get their soda machine so they can give free refills on soda. read more

I ordered 6 little Pastor tacos. The food was taking a while to come out, so I asked the manager at the counter what was taking so long.He assured me that it would be out in a minute, that there food was made fresh and it definitely would be worth the wait.Very nice guy, very respectful,he brought the tacos to me and ohhh boy was he right. The best pastor tacos I've ever had!! Love the food and environment. Staff is great and friendly and always smiling. Love their 6 Taquitos special for $6.79. It definitely can make you full with one order.....taste great !!! read more

This is the only place SO FAR in Austin were you can find REAL Mexican tacos. Not the Austin Tacos that I don't know why people even call them Mexican Tacos. This has a true Mexican Food flavor. I feel at home when I'm there. I recommend Sopa de Tortilla and tacos al pastor. Yum yum. read more

Really good food and drinks, a little slow but worth the wait. It's nice that this place is open late especially if your hungry. 2 thumbs up from a chef myself read more

These tacos were great!!! This place would've been the perfect place to chill and drink however our experience with the customer service was horrible... they seemed to be overwhelmed and were moving hella slow and very welcoming and not one smile :( awesome aguas read more

Great food and great prices too. I had the carnitas platter and the food was very flavorful.

Worker shut the door in our face at 11 pm. They could have said we are closed or something like that (yelp says midnight) but they just shut and locked the door. Unfriendly. Still have the open sign lit up. Can't say anything about the food. read more

Man oh man, I can't BELIEVE it's taken me SO long to eat here! For the past year I've lived off of Riverside and I kept seeing this place after it opened up I just assumed it was some cheesy Tex-Mex similar to Baby A's or the like, boy was I wrong! I was going to meet some friends to play bingo and was planning on eating at Al Pastor and low and behold, they were closed. I came here and was really torn about getting a specialty plate or enchiladas. I ended up going with an Al Pastor plate I guess because I was originally going to eat the same before coming here. For $7.50 I got the Al Pastor plate. It came with 3 tortillas, rice, beans, salad (lettuce/tomato) and Al Pastor (almost 2/3 of the plate!). The meat was just DELICIOUS! The beans were just OK and the rice was the same. My only complaint? They have a salsa bar at the front but it's only for tacos. I asked if they had chips for the salsa and it was met with a blank stare. That's one of the things I LOVE about most taqueria's all of the salsa's that they offer with chips complimentary. I was able to make 3 tacos and still have at least half of the meat left. Their tacos are pretty cheap too, around $2.00 a taco. Definitely worth a try and they are open late as well. read more

Awesome place! Definitely recommend it if you're stopping along the road to catch a bite.

Some of the best Mexican food in this area. Very clean and i like that you can either order with a person or there are two terminals where you order on your own. This is great for when you already know what you want. Also they have an nice patio area. read more

Worst service ever. Went in to get two breakfast tacos to-go and they never even put the order in. I waited 20 min and saw two people that came in after me get there larger orders first. And they weren't even busy at all. I asked to get my money back because I just wanted to leave and the girl working the counter played stupid and just kept saying "hang on" . Never returning to this place. read more

This place is truly a hidden Austin gem. If you're driving down Riverside and blink you'll miss it. It's a bit tough to find but the food here is 100% amazing. The al pastor is not greasy, delicious and can come with or without pineapple. Never understood the pineapple with pork combo. My favorite thing here is the queso fundido with pastor. If you don't know what it is it's basically a build your own quesadilla plate. Loved it. The salsa bar has many options and there's even a hot salsa bar. My wife ordered the bistek tacos which were also great. Her carnitas were a bit on the dry side however. El Taquito is cheap, the establishment is clean and welcoming and the people working there are really nice. The place was packed with Hispanics which is always a good sign. Best of all the place closes really late. I only wish they served breakfast all day because their breakfast menu looked legit. Honestly I could eat this place morning, noon and night. read more

If if were possible to give 0 stars I would have... Terrible dining experience. The absolute worst tacos that I have ever had, and at a hefty price of nearly $3 per small taco! To begin the trompo was not marinated correctly and lacked any flavor whatsoever. The pork was dried out. Might as been a jerky taco. The beef fajita was also completely dried out, it was difficult to choke down the awfully cooked tacos. I wanted to douse salsa all over my tacos to make them have some moisture but guess what? The Salsa was empty. I told the staff and it took 30 minutes for them to re-stock the salsa. The queso dip was a solid chunk of lard cheese(refer to my photos) The service was terribly slow. The booths gave off a rotten aroma. I'm sorry to say but I cannot believe this place is in business. I will never return here again and I would warn people to stay away! Terrible Mexican food. Taco Bell is better than this place. read more
