The food is okay. I had better authentic Mexican food else where. The service is horrible as well. Based on my experience here, I wouldn't return to this place. read more

Really good food the portions is a good size that i can'treqlly finish it, friendly customer service, and the only thing about this place that u got confused walking from the back entrance because you have to cut thorough the kitchen and stuff. But i don't even care the food and service is really good. I'll be back read more

Good tacos made on homemade corn tortillas. They have a big selection to choose from and something for everybody. Good price for the amount you get. Maybe just a bit of an update to the walls and counter but besides that all is good read more

This is our favorite place in Bishop. We eat here almost everyday when visiting. Fresh delicious authentic food. Good service!

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Death Valley. I got the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and they were delicious. My family all got the beef tacos and cleaned their plates as well!! Recommend! read more

The best Huevos Rancheros I've had in a very long time. Wonderful authentic Mexican food. I had the Shrimp Cocktail for dinner here before, and I loved it. Not like the traditional American version, much better. read more

Truly awful experience. Waited 30 minutes for a take out order for 2 because there were 3 large parties ahead. Then they claimed to have messed up our order and had to wait another 10. Went to the car to find out that they gave us the wrong order. Went back in to ask for a refund, told us the owner was in the bathroom, made us wait longer. Also was never offered water or anything else while waiting. The chicken sandwich is a dry piece of chicken breast on a hamburger bun. Burrito is super dry. Salsa is not good. Worse than de taco. What a joke. read more

Had a lot of Mexican food, but this place definitely stands out. Fresh house made corn tortillas and four different salsas on the table. Great service too! read more

Great Mexican breakfast if your passing by this little town. They have freshly squeezed orange juice, and great menudo!

Standard Mexican fare, but plenty of food to fill you. I did not see a small portion for any of my tour group. They serve Negra Modelo which is always a mainstay. I enjoy the feeling of dining in a Mexican cafe with the openness and bustle... read more

Don't go here. If you're looking for decent Mexican check out one of the other places in town. My boyfriend and I just left there, unimpressed and with uneasy stomachs. The chips were good but the salsa tasted like they used canned tomatoes and it was really watery. I ordered the grilled shrimp salad and got a bunch of shrimps with skins and tail on a plate with some chopped tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and a lot of filler with onions and lime. It's kind of annoying to have to peel your own shrimp. read more

El Ranchito is one of the best restaurants in Bishop where you can receive quality food with amazing customer service. The staff treats their customers like family, which I love. It's a family oriented restaurant with a welcoming vibe. Great prices as well as portions. They're also making many improvements to up the quality, from changing the interior and menus, adding made to order cold pressed juices (YAY) and agua frescas to making their own English muffins. This place definitely won't disappoint! read more

Great place! Amazing salsa, great food. Nice atmosphere and clean. The enchiladas were very good and the nachos were amazing! The beans were a specialty Peruvian type. Staff was friendly, good service. read more

We loved this place! The gentleman who served us was super friendly, happy, and kind enough to explain any questions we had about the menu. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the menu was enormous. This place really feels family run, and it's super family friendly. We felt very welcome. We drove thru Bishop on our way to Yosemite from Death Valley; this place is a definite must if you're in Bishop. read more

The shrimp burrito was gigantic but mostly full of rice. Remove the rice and make the burrito smaller and charge $8 instead of $12.

Glad we tried this place during our annual fishing trip. Definitely the most authentic Mexican food in the Bishop area.

El ranchito is just as good as the Mexican restaurants back in OC or SD! Big portions! Love the salsa and chips while the chicken taco had tons of chicken topped with legit Mexican cheese! Don't go to amigos because that's American Mexican food! Eat here if you want a legit Mexican restaurant! read more

Awesome Mexican restaurant that offers so many options. If you are craving it you can find it here. I love their carne asada sandwich and burritos. Service is a little slow sometimes so be prepared to take some time to eat here. It is so worth it though. They also serve amazing American/Mexican breakfast too (omlets, scrambles, burritos). read more

I ordered the Carnitas dinner with tortillas, black beans, and rice. It was delicious! They bring three different homemade salsas with the dinner. All three were very tasty, not too spicy. The service was good and prompt. All around a great dinner experience. read more

Such pleasant service! We came for Sunday brunch and enjoyed the generous portions and attention by the staff! Great options for breakfast!

Only ate here a few times for breakfast, the kitchen was clean, and I enjoyed the food. The people who runs it are great, but they need new seats. But I would take any of my friends there who come to visit. read more

Mmmm... just passing through Bishop but the restaurant was mostly full, which is always a good sign. The food was delicious (especially the home made sauces) and affordable. read more

We stopped at El Ranchito today around 4:00 p.m., on our way back to the OC from Lake Tahoe, and were pleasantly surprised. We were looking for some good authentic Mexican food after being in the car for a few hours (with kids). The food and customer service were both great! It was more than we expected. I don't know the gentleman's name who helped us but he was very patient and helpful. We ordered a Chile Colorado, a Borracho Burrito, Classic Nachos and two bean and cheese burrito kids meals. Also ordered a side of rice and fries. EVERYTHING was great! Thank you El Ranchito! read more

Craving Mexican food and this place hit the spot! California burrito and chicken flautas!

Ginger was a fantastic waitress that welcomed us with smiles and delicious food! The bean and cheese burrito was great. Also the "Baracho" was Ace if you can't take the heat! read more

Great food at good prices. Newly expanded seating area so no waiting or a short wait. My favorite is the breakfast enchiladas and on weekends they serve home made Menudo. The salsa's are freshly made as are the corn tortillas and you will never leave hungry. When traveling through the Owens Valley skip the tourist stops and eat here, where the locals eat. read more

This is a great place to eat in Bishop. It's clean and comfortable with friendly service. We had the camarones al mojo de ajo and pork flautas. Both dishes were really delicious. The sauce on the shrimp was rich and full of flavor, and the flautas tasted so fresh with a nicely spiced filling. read more

The only thing good here was the cilantro salsa. The food is waaaay over priced with no flavor. Tried the carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas and there was no flavor and was very dry. read more

Coming off the mountains after a week of backpacking there's only one thing on our minds. Burgers. And everyone else was closed. We took a flyer on this place and struck gold. Great burgers! Great service! read more

So when two Mexican Restaurants are right next door to each other, both have the same rating, and come equally recommended from different folks, how do you pick one? I look whose eating there. The first had one lone white guy. The second two Hispanic families. I'm going with the families. Had the mixed fajitas. Excellent, as was the chips and salsa. The only negative is as fantastic as the service is, the cook is slow, but that's a small price to pay when you're not in a hurry. read more

This place is slower than heck. The owner is not friendly. We sat there today and waited over an hour for our food and never got it. A party of 8 came in after us and got their food before us. The owner didn't even apologize for the service. The is not the first time they have been slow with our food but it is the last time we eat there. If you are looking for friendly and fast service don't go there. read more

Our group of 12 annually passes through Bishop. This was our first time not having a place to eat (our usual spot became very disappointing) we found El Ranchito on yelp. Immediately called to see if they could accommodate our large group. Ginger answered our call with a sweet welcoming voice told us she would reserve our table. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a very hospitable staff. The food was fresh and delicious!!! The prices were reasonable. The menu had a great variety of choices. We tried many dishes from denver omelettes to chilaquiles. Not one complaint! Our coffee cups were constantly being refreshed. The environment was clean. We are sure to make this our new go to place every year!! read more

Very friendly and welcoming staff and their food was amazing and very authentic. I ordered to go and sat and waited for the food. The waiter offered me water and also had me sample the 3 different salsas that they had to offer. Will definitely go back the next time I visit Bishop. read more

a disgusting if there could be a lower rating I would give it to her, the super rude waiter there were six of us and by mistake a friend sat at a table she shouldn't have and she apologized as she saw a menu put on the table, so far it was fine When the arrogant waiter told him "and you didn't see people sitting there right away" we didn't say anything to him out of politeness we just decided to leave we talked to Mr. of the boots and he actually told us that that waiter was an idiot. read more

Food was very good don't eat out to much for mexi food cuz very rare u find one that's homemade & good tasting food.

Great service. Home cooked country style potatoes were on point. The menu has a great mix of cafe style meals and authentic Mexican dishes.

We had a Classic Burrito with chicken. My husband and I split it and with the chips and salsa it was plenty.
