Im from Vegas, and the quality of the food here is amazing! Fresh tortillas! Delicious home made salsas. And the beans taste like abuelitas!! So happy a local referred us here for breakfast. Thank you Citlaly!!! read more

Waited 45 minutes for a take out order, 1 quesadilla , 2 tacos, and 1 carnitas. The place was half full. I could understand if they said it would take a while , but we just sat there at the counter for 45 minutes waiting. "It should be almost ready" was the info we got 30 minutes after we were there. You know when you see people arrive after you and they get their food before you? - well that happened like 3 times while we were there. So the food... a bit greasy, average, meh. read more

Food is good but come with time to spare. Service is quite slow at peak hours. Over an hour from ordering to food on the table.

Just passing through Bishop and stopped ft dinner. I had two taco dinner, 1 Asada and 1 carnitas with rice and whole pinto beans. Ernie had Shrimp Enchiladas. Served with several salsa choices. Food was really, really good. And we are used to good Mexican food bEing from SoCal Los Angeles area. Service gets a 5, too. Highly recommend this little place. read more

Fast an friendly service. Real traditional Mexican food at reasonable prices. Do not let the outward appearance stop you from coming in this place is worth the calories. Their spin on on tostada is so mouth watering. Ranchero sauce, guacamole and sour cream with black beans is award winning. The cheese relleno has a bit of a kick but don't let that stop you from enjoying it. The pepper is packed with flavor and not mushy. Finely a salsa rich with tomatoes and cilantro !!!! read more

Went here after visiting June Lake, super good food! Would definitely come back to visit.

Delicious authentic Mexican food! Stopped on our way back from mammoth. Would definitely come back!

First thing's first, the tacos were delicious so shout out to the chefs... but that's where the good ends. The waiter came and took my order, brought me my tacos, but he never brought me my side of rice or the margarita that I ordered. I would've asked him about it again but he didn't come by to check on me a single time either. What makes it even worse is that he didn't even apologize for any of it when I was paying the check. Definitely going to check out Amigos next door when I'm in town again. read more

Stopped by here on our way home in Orange County. They were able to accommodate all of our family outside. The food was very good. Best refried beans I've had. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for a late night bite and I'm so glad we did! This spot is so good and they have so many dish options available. We're originally from Los Angeles so we were worried we wouldn't find any flavorful spots in town since we're new. We ordered some celebratory margaritas in addition to our food and the kind Man who took our order gave us a lime!! Lol 10/10 please support this business if you're passing through town read more

The food was delicious! We are from Southern California and used to authentic Mexican food. This place was quick, had friendly staff and the food was amazing. We would come back anytime! read more

Can you look to add zero rating? Walked in and immediately walked straight through the front after seeing we walked through a dirty kitchen and an even worse front of house. Dish bins filled to the brim and dirty tables all around. read more

Ordered the green chilaquiles. The flavor wasn't what I expected, but not in a bad way, just different. They had almost a smoky quality to them. It was a smaller portion than what I'm used to as well but it did fill me up. The fresh salsas were all delicious as well. The service was fast and extremely friendly. I would return if I'm in the mood for some authentic Mexican and I'm in the area in the future. read more

So I have a thing for hole in the wall Mexican joints and I can't pass through Bishop without eating in this place at least once. When you walk in it will probably be full but somehow I manage to sit in the same booth every time I arrive. The staff never change faces so you won't get bad service. I have had it all from burritos, tacos, chevechi, etc. Despite the hole in the wall feel, the food has always been on point. Pick your favorite thing and I'll assure you a great meal. The salsa and chips are always fresh and the sauces on the table are perfect to spice things up. This place is very light on the wallet and should put every fast food Mexican place out of business. read more

Excellent food! Amazing service. We ordered the pozole, al pastor burrito and carne asada fries. Everything was flavorful and tasted delicious. Sauces were amazing! read more

Stopped in for breakfast. Fast and cheerful service. Had Ortega omlette. Comes with sides and choice of toast or torriila. The chiles were fresh, not canned. The omlette was generous, fluffy and full of cheese and chiles. Tortillas were fresh and warm. Refried beans were delicious too. Overall, loved it and will come back again next time i pass through Bishop. Gracias el Ranchito!! read more

This place is overpriced. Small portion and food is bland. I would not come back here.

Wanted to sample different kinds of meats and was hoping for a plate that I could choose my carne, but had to settle for four street tacos: pastor, adovada, cabeza, and carnitas, all served with grilled onions and limes, and all delicious. The hot salsa provided with chips is not all that hot, but the hot salsa they provide with the meal is definitely improved. read more

So happy we stumbled upon this place. Cute, small and authentic Mexican food. The Family is singing in the back kitchen while they're making our breakfast. Love it! I wish there was a place like this in Flagstaff. read more

I would definitely not recommend this place for travelers. Not only was our waitress on the phone the whole time. The menu's were dirty to the touch. Not sure how clean the kitchen was because my fiancé had a burrito and his stomach was bothering him later. Waitress never came to check on us because she was always on the phone. It took an hour to get breakfast and get back on the road. The fries are delicious but that's all I would recommend. read more

Savory Mexican food and even some delicious American diner fare! They have a variety of salsas and chunky guac. Very satisfying after a long day on the slopes. Service was A+. read more

Stopped in for breakfast as the small mom and pop style restaurants are usually better. El Ranchito did not disappoint. Had the Chili Verde Omelet with country style potatoes which were absolutely delicious. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Stopped for a quick to-go late breakfast on our roadtrip to Mammoth and this was one of the few open at 10 AM. Very cute diner-esque Mexican restaurant with excellent service and kind staff. Ordered to-go and food was ready and hot for pickup however, food was very average. Portions are huge and over sauced. Ordered 2 Chorizo Breakfast Burritos but each burrito is big enough for 2 and came wet (although not in the description...which makes it hard for roadtrip food). Ordered the Breakfast Enchiladas and again big enough for 2 and basically eating scrambled eggs in pepper-marinated sauce. Each came with a side of hash browns that were wet and undercooked. Brother ordered the chicken fried steak which was alright but makes you question the authenticity of a Mexican restaurant. read more

This place has a lot of good food. Highly recommend if your passing by and craving a good Mexican or sea food plate. Good dinner and good breakfast. They also have a variety of drinks to choose from. You can call for pickup as well if just trying to grab food to go. read more

Great food here in beautiful Bishop people! Authentic Mexican food with a variety of salsas both homemade and bottled! They also have a selection of "aguas" Horchata, tamarindo, piña, and jamaica with a touch of good old American goodness, pancakes and French toast! We sampled this spot for Breakfast lunch and dinner it is very consistent all day long, the staff is extremely friendly consistent with the town the establishment is clean and the seating in comfortable. There is ample parking behind and on the side of the restaurant. It's great to find places like these 300 miles from home but most important after your ciesta you can go play up the road in mammoth or just stay in Bishop and explore its natural beauty enjoy! read more

So my two friends and I went there for lunch today. The service was very poor and slow the food on the other hand we each had some thing different and we were all very disappointed. The chicken was so dry and hard it was tough to eat. I had shredded beef, that was very overcooked and dry my friend had a ground beef tostada and they forgot the beans it was decided that we would never patronize the place again. For the portion size that you get, they are very overpriced. read more

The service was top notch and they were packed full of locals. A definite two thumbs up. read more

Came in for dinner around 6pm on a Thursday, plenty of tables available before it started filling up. I ordered the carnitas and al pastor tacos which were amazing, along with the carnitas chimichanga that my friend ordered. The shrimp taco was just okay. The service was amazing (shout out to their new server- Manuel, he was very attentive and was the only server & he was awesome). Complimentary chips and salsa. Laid back atmosphere! read more

Came in and waited 15 minutes for service. Nothing. It wasn't super packed. Won't be coming again. The acoustics were also terrible, there was 6 people and 4 kids but it sounded like 50 people it was so loud. read more

This little gem located on the main strip of downtown Bishop will not disappoint. I was raised on a tradition of La Casita down the road, but this new find has me switching. The prices are good and the food is delicious. They start you off right away with super fresh, still hot, tortilla chips and some fresh salsa with a bit of a kick. The waitress we had on our most recent visit was a bit no-nonsense, but I don't mind curt service as long as I am getting what I want. In fact, I prefer it over that sugar coated phoniness (hate those phonies) that is served up at a lot of places. El Ranchito has all the usual menu items as well as some stuff that is a little more rare (i.e. chiliquiles). They also have a section of burgers and more American style dinner food. Obviously not worth ordering unless you have a picky kid with you, in which case, sucks to be you. read more

El Ranchito didn't even exist on Yelp! until now?! Blasphemy! These are the best tortilla chips I have ever had, they are fresh and homemade, and they keep 'em coming. I honestly have thought about them everyday for two weeks now. The chips alone are well worth the trip. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with green sauce. Very good. The sauce was amazing. In fact, all the sauces were amazing. The hot salsa the chips came with was chunky and fresh, obviously homemade. Then, my old man got a burrito and they brought him a trio of sauces with it. All three were excellent, and the verde sauce was different from the verde sauce on my enchilada! And the red sauce that came on his wet burrito was different from the four other sauces on the table as well. So..they have at least 6 different sauces here and they are all excellent. The menu has the usual mexican fare at the usual prices - slightly cheaper, actually. The bean and cheese burrito, which came wet, and was huge, was less than $5. I think my two enchilada combo was around $9. I will absolutely be hitting up El Ranchito every single time I drive through Bishop from now on, and that's a fact! read more

Not good. Just so so disappointing. Dirty kitchen, dirty dining room, dirty menus, it goes on. I wanted to like it so much just can't it was actually gross. My son and daughter couldn't finish their burritos as the carne tasted like it turnt. Hurt stomachs await you if you come here be warned. Nice guy waiting on us got the star nothing more could earn anything. read more

There are two Mexican restaurants next door to each other in downtown Bishop. Wierd. Both had decent reviews. We were staying out north of town on BLM land and were hungry for something besides our own cooking. We chose this place Excellent tamales and rellenos. Love the little sauces available. spicy though. Our server was very freindly and the place was relatively quiet. We went back two nights in a row. read more

Visited this place in June 2016. I ordered the chilaquiles with an over easy egg... delicious, just like homemade chilaquiles. Serving size was great. Enough food for 2. The servers were friendly. If your on your way to Mammoth or back from definitely stop by this place. read more
