It did have an odd smell in the place that I couldn't tell if it was just from the constant frying of chicken and oil or if there was an exposed sewer line. The food was great! The chicken was crisp, moist, and flavorful. The mac by itself was creamy and perfectly cooked. The hot seasoning actually had some heat to it with a slight sweetness. The bowl came with a cup of creamy sauce, which to me had a weird tangy flavor. I didn't end up using it. The portion was huge! I could've had some for lunch and the rest for dinner, but I ended up splitting it 3 ways with my two little ones. They thought it was spicy, but still ate it. I got a side of fries, cole slaw, and a freshly baked bun. The owner told me this was a franchise. They were from Louisiana and were looking for opportunities in Bakersfield. As with any new business, it is going to take a few days to get the place up and running. You can eat inside. The tables and chairs looked comfy, but I opted to take out. The walls are a little sparse, but I'm certain they will dress the place up nicely. The owner was very nice and you could tell he had a passion for this business.
