My daughter placed an online order here, so I took here to pick up her food. While we were waiting, I decided to try the Mac and cheese with the first to the last hot sauce/seasoning. It wasn't busy inside and it was clean. I like the hand painted art on the walls. It did have an odd smell in the place that I couldn't tell if it was just from the constant frying of chicken and oil or if there was an exposed sewer line. The food was great! The chicken was crisp, moist, and flavorful. The mac by itself was creamy and perfectly cooked. The hot seasoning actually had some heat to it with a slight sweetness. The bowl came with a cup of creamy sauce, which to me had a weird tangy flavor. I didn't end up using it. The portion was huge! I could've had some for lunch and the rest for dinner, but I ended up splitting it 3 ways with my two little ones. They thought it was spicy, but still ate it. Fry portions (single orders) are now smaller. Additionally, have found a piece of metal in my food (steel wool, maybe?) The order of you spice you want will occasionally be random. You order mild? Some days it'll be 2 levels hotter. You order hot? Some days it'll be mild. Wish there was a little more consistency. read more

This is my favorite place in Porterville for spicy fried chicken. I consider myself pretty good at handling spice, and their "Motherclucker" spice level gives me a run for my money. I went to this place when it first opened up and it was amazing. the second time i went however it was good but i found a bug in the mac n cheese which grossed me out. after this however ive been back a few times and the only other problem i had was my chicken was overcooked one time but that was it. overall though this place has really kind staff, this is based off just my personal experienced. read more

The first time I went to Flaming Chicken, I thought the food was pretty good and comparable to Angry Chickz in Visalia. So, I naturally decided to go again, but I have to say I was severely disappointed. I had gotten the two-slider plate, and everything looked fine until further inspection. The middle of one of the sliders was completely raw, to the point where the chicken was hard in the middle and crunchy, not cooked all the way through. I ended up throwing away the whole plate, which felt like throwing away my money. I strongly recommend avoiding Flaming Chicken on Main Street. It seems like a hit or miss, and if you're unlucky, you could end up wasting your money or worse, getting food poisoning. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would. I went in when it wasn't so busy and for some reason it toke 30 minutes for me to get my grilled sandwich and side of mac & cheese. People who ordered their food after me received their food before I did. I ordered the #1. Basically a large chicken strip with pickles and a tiny bit of coleslaw with mayo based sauce between two buns. Went in around 830 had ordered prior online, the young ladies are kind and aren't at all rude however hearing an obnoxious kid with remarks I'd rather not express, but towards customers coming in at "last minute" if you guys close at nine be prepared to serve until 9pm anyone inside should be served and you should be prepared with enough food, its great food, however the facial expressions and comments make it non welcoming. Everything was bomb!! I got the loaded fries and my boyfriend got the Mac and cheese. We both loved them! I could eat the loaded fries everyday!
