Not sure why I keep coming back here given how mediocre the food is. I keep getting lulled into eating high protein based off of their menu. For example the original chicken bowl is beans rice and chicken. There is no way the ounce and a half of chicken and few tablespoons of beans adds up to 40g of protein. I rarely ever review a fast food restaurants but actually, El Pollo is kind of an exception. Definitely a healthier choice. This particular location had the best taco Al Carbon that I've had. I've been a fan of this place for many years but today's experience will significantly impact how often I eat here going forward. Everything on the menu has gone up by at least $2 and much more than that on some Items. I know because I get the same 4-5 items for me and family each visit. Not only did the double chicken tostada go up $2 but the shell wasn't even filled up. I mean they could have thrown in more lettuce to make It more robust. This review is specific to the experience provided by the Manager at the location off Newport in tustin. The staff was great during our dine in experience, after receiving our food my wife noticed the her salad was missing the dressing. She went up to ask for some and as the cashier was handing it to her, the manager interrupted and told the cashier to charge for it. I get charging people for extra dressing when they don't have a salad but we tried to explain to the manager the dressing did not have enough salad dressing/any, and she insisted that it required a charge. We ended up paying for the dressing and it's not about the $.50 we paid for it rather the poor and lack of customer service from this manager who goes by the name of Liz. She really needs to understand the balance of customer experience vs business requirements- sometimes it's just a better idea to give the customer the ounce of dressing instead of losing a customers loyalty and confidence in your establishment. read more
