Almost all of the time I eat here satisfaction comes to me when I take a bite out of the juicy chicken. The mashed potatoes and the gravy that comes with it is also great. Actually one of my favorite sides, if not MY FAVORITE SIDE there. But there is one problem, the service gets your order wrong. that's basically all you need to improve. It was a bit long waiting for my family meal order. I ordered 2 churros here. I'm spoiled from Costco churros size so I was very surprised at the cost for two little churros here at El Pollo Loco. This review is specific to the experience provided by the Manager at the location off Newport in tustin. The staff was great during our dine in experience, after receiving our food my wife noticed the her salad was missing the dressing. She went up to ask for some and as the cashier was handing it to her, the manager interrupted and told the cashier to charge for it. I get charging people for extra dressing when they don't have a salad but we tried to explain to the manager the dressing did not have enough salad dressing/any, and she insisted that it required a charge. We ended up paying for the dressing and it's not about the $.50 we paid for it rather the poor and lack of customer service from this manager who goes by the name of Liz. She really needs to understand the balance of customer experience vs business requirements- sometimes it's just a better idea to give the customer the ounce of dressing instead of losing a customers loyalty and confidence in your establishment. read more

I've been a fan of this place for many years but today's experience will significantly impact how often I eat here going forward. Everything on the menu has gone up by at least $2 and much more than that on some Items. I know because I get the same 4-5 items for me and family each visit. Not only did the double chicken tostada go up $2 but the shell wasn't even filled up. I mean they could have thrown in more lettuce to make It more robust. My take-out experiences here at this El Pollo Loco has been 95% pretty good. Yes, sometimes they may forget my requested condiments or not give the right quantity. It happens! I don't get worked up over it for we all make mistakes. Sometimes I feel fast-food joints don't get enough credit or appreciation for what they do. In my younger years I used to work at one! So I am very grateful for the pleasant services, friendly drive-thru staff, consistent quality of food/taste & the management/organization of this EPL location. I've never dined in but prior to Covid I have gone in-store to place my orders. The interior is nice for a fast-food chain. From my recollection the colors are nicely coordinated & the place was kept fairly clean. My family & I do enjoy the food here especially the family meals/deals & their chicken tortilla soup. I like their avocado salsa & the cilantro dressing - great options to accompany with their grilled chicken. It's great to see EPL serving healthier options. They now have cilantro lime cauliflower rice! Most of the time I would use coupons from the Irvine Company's Retail Therapy App where you get 20% off your order OR the El Pollo Loco App to get discounts, deals & earn points! If one can save, why not?! My only con I have is that EPL uses Styrofoam for their food take-out packaging. Hope one day EPL will move away from this to a more environmental friendly option.
