Best Mexican restaurant in Conroe! Everything tastes fresh and hot. Warm red salsa, cool green salsa (not creamy-more jalapeño-ish but still tasty). This is our favorite Conroe Mexican food. The food is good, salsa is exceptional and the beer is cold. The servers are friendly and attentive. My only complaint is fajitas served on a sizzling platter..... Every Mexican joint in Texas does it this way and I end up smelling like a fajita when I leave the restaurant. read more

Would be 3 stars but for one thing: my lunch-mate saw the waiter recycle chips from one table to another. That will do it for me.

Had lunch there two weeks ago. To put it simply, the food was sh*t. I have had better food from the frozen section at a grocery store. El Patio kicks El Bosque in the Ass. They don't even try to be a good Mexican restaurant. Absolutely no seasoning in the enchilada meat. The enchilada sauce and refried beans tasted like they were from a can. And guess what? They were from a can. The kitchen at this establishment has NO EXPERIENCE and NO DESIRE to produce authentic Tex-Mex food. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Great Service, friendly people, and good food. There are a number of choices on the lake for mexican food, but El Bosque is our favorite. We've visited other El Bosque locations, and this one is well staffed and very friendly. It's a little bit "old school" mexican compared to some of the newer places in Houston, but it is comfortable and very family friendly. read more

I don't typically write bad reviews, as I feel we are all human, we all make mistakes or have an "off" day.... but seriously?? EVERY time I place a take out order, it is wrong. Since when do appetizer items, like queso or guac NOT come with chips? It's being ordered as an appetizer, not a side item. When I'm paying about $9 for each of those item, it should come with chips. I'm not spending basically $20, then going to the groc store to buy tortilla chips. Also, in the pic and in the restaurant, queso comes with a side of sliced jalapenos. Apparently that's not the case if you order take out. And when I pay $3 extra to have something added, I expect the item to be added, or don't charge me for it. I live on the north side of Conroe, so it is such an inconvenience to have to drive into The Woodlands to get good tasting, quality Mexican food, or a great tasting margarita. Their drinks here go from one extreme to the other; and I prefer a drink that doesn't taste like cheap tequila (the way paint thinner smells), nor one that's so watered down you don't even know if it contains alcohol :( Conroe has been growing. Why can't we have good Mexican food, like Chuy's, Pappasito's, Lupe Tortilla, Guadalajara, or even a Torchy's Taco for that matter? read more

Delicious and awesome staff. Food comes at a good pace, we're taken care of during the wait, and they have the best texmex.

I ate here today and found a roach on the table. The waiter was kind enough to take a picture as it ran away, to show the manager. We left quickly (after paying) because the manager didn't bother to come out. I don't know who writes all these glowing reports; they apparently didn't see the bugs! read more

Simply the best Tex-Mex in Montgomery County. Excellent service. Only one drawback is the smoking section on Fri nights.

Normally, I enjoy coming to the restaurant for the Matalzan. Yet, today during after 1:00 pm lunchtime, the service was unusual. I waited about 10-15 minutes and was never acknowledged by a waiter. When I asked the person who brought the water when will the waiter come, she said shortly. After a few more minutes, I decided to leave. I spoke with the manager and he apologized for no one coming to the table. Uhmmm....maybe I will try another day. read more

We have been fans of the Shenandoah location for years, it was our favorite Mexican restaurant. We just moved to Conroe and decided to try the Conroe location. I'm not sure this is the location we went to; it was on 105 west of I-45, down close to Target. I think it is the new location for the one that used to be on 336-W. Anyway, if anything, it is better than the one in Shenandoah. Large open seating area, friendly staff, free appetizers of bean nachos, and delicious food. I guess this is our new go-to place for great Tex-Mex. We will most definitely become regulars at this location. read more

Over the years the food has been up and down, but before the move to this new location the food was so great I was excited to try going the new location. I waited until the initial grand opening crowd slowed down. It slowed quicker than I thought. We went to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere is weird. Former sports bar turned to loud Mexican restaurant. It wasn't a full room and it was just hard to hear the people at your own table. The first round of drinks was good. The second was watered down. Service was too fast and the food was COLD. I ordered tostadas because I wanted something flat to pick up. This is the only place I've ever been served a tostada on a puffed tortilla. Of course I had to break it up with a fork and eat it. The beans tasted were runny like they were watered down and had no flavor whatsoever. The beef fajita he had was tough and a disappointment. I'm disappointed. I really thought it would be good. I don't even want to go back to this location. read more

I would rate them a very solid A. Both the fajita enchiladas & cheese enchiladas with gravy were very good. It is a classy place. The margaritas (the prickly pear & the tropical) disappeared quickly. The chips and salsa were good & approached outstanding when I added a little salt to the chips!! Interestingly even the mole enchilada was good. It was close to being as good as those in Mexico. The dining room manager was sincerely interested in the customers being satisfied. I would easily frequent this establishment again. read more
