As soon as I walked in the door I loved the vibe of this restaurant. We ordered the Queso Loco to start out with and our table of queso lover's was happy. It was creamy with a little spice and good flavor. I ordered the Camilarita regular size and it was not your average Tex Mex rita. It's pricey but you can tell it's made with quality ingredients. My parents ordered the large frozen house margherita and it was huge! The glass was close to a foot tall. I had the quesadilla with brisket. The meat almost melted in your mouth. Our server was great and had the entire wait staff come out to sing happy birthday for my sister. I noticed it has a 3 star rating. Granted the prices were high but the servings are large so keep that in mind. read more

We had a wonderful late lunch here! The chips, queso, and salsa were quintessential Tex Mex. I've been on the hunt for years for this in the Houston area (cold, cilantro-y salsa, not hot and fire roasted like most Mexican restaurants serve around here). Started out with a Camilarita, if you read the menu its supposed to have a red rim and blue agave in the drink, it had neither. I told our waitress but she said thats not part of the Camilarita...WRONG! They charged us the full $13.99 price for a $7.99 small margarita. My husband ordered a Shiner Bock and Blue moon but they were out of both. It also took the bartender about 20 minutes to make the drink but the place was empty, she had her friends there which was top priority to her. The food was good, salsa great we had the empanadas that was made with the smoked brisket very good. Most of the dishes are made with the smoked brisket which is delicious. We are going to give the place another try, this time when I order I'm getting the right drink. read more

So, for a couple of years this place has been a stop off for a few cocktails for me. Usually just have guacamole and their chips and salsa, which is very good. The service has always been excellent here. Stopped in today with a friend and he had never been. He had some shrimp tacos and is hooked. I confess the food here looks and smells amazing, they have a breakfast menu for the weekend as well. I'm going back to dig into a real meal so part 2 to follow! read more

This place is so cute. Such a hidden gem. Our server Brissa was so sweet and attentive! Seriously the service was great. The food was delicious, and both my husband and I were pleased with our meals. The only complaint and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that my enchilada and my husband's quesadilla were soooo greasy, like dripping grease however, don't let that stop you. Camila's! If I could give half stars I would. This is truly a match for its overall rating of 3.5. I legit took notes while sampling the food. Here's why: I have seen the ads all over Facebook, especially for the weekend brunch. Will be coming to try that soon. But had to stop by and give it a go. I saw a post Wednesday that it was all day half price appetizers and decided why not. Drove an hour to get there and arrived. New development and parking is decent. Walked in and blown away. The art is soooo good. Dia de Los muertos vibe. As an artist, I was feeling it. Got a table and decided to try a few apps and see what it was giving. I was greeted by the hostesses and seated. My server was super sweet sad friendly. She took good care of me. I decided to go with the CAMILARITA! You will not regret it. Brisket empanadas: cooked well, not much flavor in the empanada, needs the sauce. Scorpion sauce that comes with it is great. Sweet and spicy blend is nice. The sauce is the savior. Period. Rice balls: the rice ball dough is very dense, takes away from the full flavor of the dish. Flavor of the filling is good. Mole sauce is okay. Would like more flavor and punch as a whole. Chips and salsa: salsa decent and chips are great, light and freshly cooked. Queso loco: okay, comes in a grill plate like little cheese balls, the queso needs the chorizo to work. The cheese balls become overcooked quickly. Tortillas with it soft and nice. The chips were over cooked and not a fan. Corn bones: the flavor is amazing. Smokey and rich. This was my favorite thing I ate tonight. The only negative is how it is served. The corn is still on the cob but quartered. So eating it can be tricky. I discovered you need to eat it like ribs. If I had this like a traditional elote with the corn free, this was be a true gem. I'd come back just for that. Would pair well with many dishes to compliment flavors and take it to the next level. The composition of the flavors here is so good. Just the execution fails unless you eat it like ribs. If I have to work to eat with a small pay off I'm not interested. Overall it's a 3.5. Pretty good little Tex-Mex/BBQ fusion joint. Came here with a buddy for dinner recently. Service was pretty good. We were seated relatively quickly, our waitress was friendly, attentive and very helpful with our menu questions. I decided to take a shot at the El Rey quesadillas with Birria. They were pretty good. The birria was tender with a good amount of moisture. Good amount of cheese in the quesadillas. The sauce on top made it unique. Gave it a BBQ flavor. The other opinions I've read weren't very good. A week ago we went out to eat at Camila's. The place was nearly empty at 7pm. There were four other tables that had patrons. The hostess was writing something when we walked in and kind of looked perturbed. She said just a minute and finished what she was writing. Then there was the usual, "Table for three?", we said yes, three and she showed us to a table. She wanted to seat is at one of the tables that was like a long bench with a row of tables, directly next to another table of diners. I asked for a booth, they had to clean a table for us to sit. We had to ask our waiter to wipe it again because they didn't do a very good job the first time. He took our drink order, I ordered a margarita for my wife and I to share and a water, my wife ordered a water and our son ordered a Dr. Pepper. The margarita came right out, 5 minutes, no problem. We ploughed through a small bowl of chips and salsa by the time the waiter returned to take our order. We ordered queso with the bottomless chips for an appetizer. I ordered Brisket Fajitas, my wife ordered the Carne Jack and our son ordered the Bandito Burrito. Our waiter scurried off and there we sat, with one margarita and an empty bowl of chips. Less than 5 minutes later, out comes the queso, no chips. We asked for more chips and thinking that he would bring our drinks with the chips. Nope, that didn't happen, he brought just chips. He seemed like he was in a hurry and scurried off again. I called him back, I asked him if he could bring it drinks, sure, no I'm problem me replied. We went through another bowl of chips, still no drinks. Then out comes our order by a different person. Still no drinks. Our waiter pops by to check on us, I again remind him about our drinks. He finally brought the drinks. A few minutes late I see him taking off his apron and taking to a another member of the wait staff. Then he leaves. Leaves the restaurant. The other girl he was taking to came over and introduced herself as Zaz or something like that. She said she was the manager and she would be our waitress for the rest of the evening as our waiters shift ended and he had to leave. So we dug into our food. I included two pictures, one was the brisket fajitas. There wasn't much there for 30 bucks. Less than 6 ounces of meat. Not included in the picture was a small molcajete full of toppings and a plate of rice and refritos. The second picture is the Carne Jack my wife ordered. Also with toppings and a plate of rice and refritos. They gave us three tortillas to split between the two of us. We had asked for charros instead of refritos, but I guess the waiter was in a hurry and he missed that. We ate, it didn't take long, there wasn't much food. My wife said the skirt steak was sweet, it had something sweet on it and she said it had a weird flavor, she didn't like it. My fajitas were really tender, I though it was Prime beef, I later found out it was Choice. The flavor was there. I don't know why the call them "Brisket Fajitas" they were just tenderized skirt steak. Not brisket, not smoked that I could tell. The manager was a real space cadet so I didn't even bother expressing my dissatisfaction. The bill was $130.00 and I left a $20.00 tip. Out of 5 stars, I'd give them two. One because the food was fresh and the second because the fajitas were good, not great, but good. We had seen a lot on social media and had to check it out. Scorpion queso with brisket was as talked about. Chips were crispy and salsa was excellent. House made tortillas were average. Shrimp tacos were spot on. Jazz was excellent, attentive and fast. Definitely returning! read more

BEWARE! Received a text message today about a special tonight, May 22, 2025. $3.00 Micheladas, Draft Beer, Bloody's. My husband and I sat at the bar ready to order dinner and the drink specials . The waitress said she was unaware about drink specials and we showed her our recent text message. She went to the manager to check and he told her no drink specials. We asked to see him and he was extremely rude as we showed him the text we received and he said "No specials on drinks and abruptly walked away from us" With so many Mexican Restaurants in this area we left. As Grand Central Park residents we like to support our neighborhood businesses. We will never return to this establishment. read more

So they have brunch but...it wasn't hot. Light the sterno!! The gravy & the grits were lukewarm, no really, they weren't even warm. The grits had amazing flavor, I asked for them to bring some warmed up, took forever...great flavor! Wish I had got them sooner, they arrived as I ate my pancake. The biscuit was light and fluffy. The pancakes were light and the perfect texture with a delicious maple butter syrup. The sausage was weird looking, like spam, the flavor was lacking although the texture gave you sausage...not flavorful. The potatoes & chorizo were delicious although they would have been better HOT. The brisket hoe cake was the best, it was creamy and had a piece of brisket on top with a pickled onion and a corn relish, it could have been hotter. The pork tomatillo enchiladas was excellent but again not hot enough. The chile gravy on the cheese enchiladas was excellent, the enchiladas were cheese filled, excellent flavor but not hot. The juice was amazingly fresh squeezed and the champagne was very good, I loved the mimosa, my favorite part of brunch. We got the bottle for four of us, great price and the perfect amount. I will definitely try again for dinner. The birria tacos looked amazing, saw them across the way. Ambiance excellent 5. Service was a 3.5. Food would have been a 4 on flavor instead it was 1 because it wasn't HOT. Definitely want to know if Ordering from the menu makes a difference. read more

Beans and rice were cold, like sat on a plate for an hour before coming out of the kitchen kind of cold. The tortillas were cold. They were in foil but had been there probably since the night before. The beef in the fajitas was not good. It was old. The grilled shrimp were good but it didn't make up for everything else that was bad. Disappointing. read more

Our first time there this evening. We were seated right away and our server Alexa was very upbeat and welcoming. We ordered the brisket fajitas for 2 and a half order of the sticky ribs. The brisket fajitas were very dry and had very little flavor. It seemed as though the brisket was smoked then they cut up pieces and "flame grilled" them. The guac, pico, pickled onions, sour cream and white cheese were served on the side. We thought that was a nice touch. The sticky ribs were absolutely fantastic. The sauce was on the light side which only added to the delicious flavor of the ribs and the light sauce only made the ribs better! The Spanish rice and refried beans were only so so. In all fairness, we will be back again to try different entrees. The ribs and Alexa our server made it a good dining experience! read more

The food here was top tier it had great flavor, massive portions. I tried the queso loco and it was crispy and delicious. For entree I had the rolling dirty and the flavor was out of the world and the Taquitos were a nice crunch. On top of the food the customer service was on point and the restaurant was relaxed but also very clean. Will definitely be back! read more

This place was delightful! My husband and I wanted lunch but did not want to have Conroux again, so we ventured out. This is a minute's drive from the Hyatt Regency Conroe (where we were staying) and a great spot. The tortilla soup was the best my husband has ever had (made even better by the fact that it does not have cilantro -- he hates cilantro). I had the chicken tinga tacos and they were delicious as well. Service was prompt, polite, and attentive. The decor is a little over the top, but it works. This is not a chain! It's a family-owned restaurant and the care and love shows. I'd eat here again if I found myself in Conroe. read more

Our server, Julissa, was the best thing about our visit. She is engaging, kind and attentive. The music is repetitive and too loud, decor is fun, but prices are high, considering quantity and quality of food. Chips are good, salsa, too. My margarita was tiny, but good; price to high. Larger mango drink ordered was $20 and not worth the price. Manager/ owner stood and chatted with his friends our entire hour there, and ignored a restaurant 1/3 full. Not a good practice Due to high prices, we will go back to our favorite Mexican food spot, and spend 1/2 as much for better food and drink. I really wanted to like this place. It's a nice atmosphere. Last night we went , party of 6 , lured by half price appetizers and cocktails! There were only three cocktails.the worst mojitos I ever had. Like I could not even finish it. It was very small , all ice , I doubt any liquor no mint. A total rip off. The empanadas made me ill. The oil they used tasted off. Gross smell gross taste. The meal was so so. Nothing to write home about. This was our second try. That's it. We have way too many choices for Tex Mex. The food and service was great! The ambiance was not, for a Saturday night at 6:30 the place was empty(usually very busy). The music playing was very loud and club like music. There was no one under 40 in there other than staff so I'm not sure why they had that type of music on. I would much prefer Mexican style music over that crap. read more

So I have given this place 3 chances, 3 strikes your out. We went and tried the buffet again on Sunday May 26, 2024 and once again the food was COLD!! Why do they have the food out there and they don't light the burners!! The soup was so cold that the grease was floating on the top. The floor was dirty and the tables needed to be bused. The young boys working the omelet bar were very nice, but the young girls in the front who were sitting the guests were rude and did not want to be bothered. I hope this establishment makes the necessary changes soon so that they stay in business. Unfortunately you see so many restaurants that have to permanently close their doors because they continue to lose business, and I'd hate for this to happen to get another restaurant. read more

First time here. Splitting the difference in rating with hubby's lunch fajitas and my lunch quartered chicken. He says his was good, beef had a good flavor. Good tortillas. Fairly certain the quarter of that very small bird I got had been cooked yesterday (kinda tell by the skin), very little meat. The menu also said the chicken came with sizzling vegetables, there were none. When I asked, waitress said it did not (I checked menu on my way out, yep it did say that). Beans and rice were good. Upon arrival to Camilas the vibe was pretty cool. Great Wall art, good music and the food looked good from other reviews. I do see the vibe they are going for, but not sure the location is the spot for it. The music was a bit loud but wasn't too unbearable. I could still have a conversation with my bf sitting across the booth. We ordered the jumbo shrimp and jalapeño wrapped in bacon. They were okay, but would've been better if it had some spice to it considering the jalapeño. Served with rice and butter. Good, but wouldn't order again good. For our entrees my boyfriend ordered the steak fajitas medium rare which at first came out well done. He tried to eat them despite not being cooked right and couldn't. We ended up telling our waitress who told the manager and she made a brand new plate for him. These were so tender soft and juicy!! The plate came out with tortillas, sour cream, pico, guacamole, rice and beans. I ordered the mole enchiladas and I do have to say their mole is pretty good compared to other mole in Houston area. The shredded chicken inside was also okay. Over all I'd order the plate again if I was starving. We also ordered a large mango house margarita and it was surprisingly very good. It had good flavor and wasn't too strong. Lastly for dessert we ordered the tres leches. It was very sweet and kind of dry. The bottom of the cake was more soggy with the milks, but needed that throughout the piece and not just the bottom. It was overly sweet for me and couldn't finish it. Our first time to try this place. We have seen it many times, since we eat at Mezze's a lot. Our waitress, Michelle P, was great! Checked on us several times, without being too intrusive. Homemade flour tortillas is a definite PLUS for us! They were delicious! Brisket Empanadas were not a hit- too much cheddar cheese, only 2 tiny pieces of brisket, and the oil they were fried in was too old, which made the empanadas heavy and not flaky. The good thing about the empanadas- it was a substantial helping- 3 larger empanadas for $12.95. The brisket fajitas were meh. The meat was tender- we cut it with a fork- but was dry and had little to no flavor. The rice & beans were lukewarm, and not much flavor either. The other downside for us- no gluten-free options. We have family members with food allergies, and we have to consider them when we decide on a place for our family to eat. The music was loud, especially for 5:30 on a Wednesday, but we could hear each other across the table, which was a plus. Well-lit and festive atmosphere. Glad we tried it. read more

The two of us went here for lunch on a recent Sunday. We were surprised to learn there was a brunch buffet that was on until 12 noon. We took a Quick Look and decided to give it a try. It is $15 per person for as many trips to the buffet as you like. The buffet does not come with their standard chips and salsa. The buffet included some standard fare - eggs, bacon, sausage patties, smoked sausage, biscuits, and gravy. It also included pancakes, potatoes, chorizo eggs, refried beans, and rice. There were two varieties of enchiladas - chicken and cheese. And, there was an omelette bar. Mixed fruit and cereal boxes were available. Overall, the food on the buffet was just average. Highlights - the chicken enchiladas. Things that could use a bit of improvement - potatoes were soggy, refried beans were more like soup, and the Cher's enchiladas had been sitting there for a while. There was one other entree bin that had ran out, and we couldn't tell what it was supposed to contain and the staff never refilled it. The rest of the items were just average. I can't comment on the omelette bar, as we opted not to try it. The wait staff indicated there were chilaquiles on the buffet, but none were available. We'll probably skip the buffet the next time. I've seen the buzz and have been waiting to make an excuse to drive north. The concept bridges two staples that go hand in hand. I found myself nearby today for a late lunch (1:30 pm) and unfortunately have to say this is all hype at the moment. I hope time heals and improvements are made. PROS: the concept is great and the atmosphere is as well. Service: ODD; ordered and fajitas were out in less than 2 minutes. Drinks were not. Appetisers followed, then drinks. We seemed to be being rushed along. This is simply lack of experience and training and could easily be improved. FOOD: we had several items and found much of the food bland or super sweet. We questioned if sugar and salt had been mixed up in the kitchen because several items were overly sweet (salsa, scorpion sauce, beans, and verde salsa). The grilled chicken fajitas were just average at best. The baraccho beans were way undercooked and unpleasant tasting. The brisket empanadas; yes you want them right now...I did too. Unfortunately the dough was too thick, half or more of the order were hard to find much brisket, and they were just bland cheesy dough pastries. The queso blanco was ok; melted cheese with chili powder, not much more. We took brisket fajitas, ribeye fajitas, ribs, and a burger to go. Brisket was again bland and although smoked seemed more boiled. The ribs were ok but dry. The ribeye was average but a little overcooked for our liking. The burger was decent.
