Normally I prefer the real New York style bagels, you know, boiled and baked with a dense chew to them, but I needed to get some bagels for a work meeting and I didn't know of any real bagel shops in this area. I know Einstein Bagels are more fluffy like, but not as bad as those Costco bagels, sort of like bread donuts! These will do cause I'm here. This Einstein Bagel is located right off the 44 on the north side of the freeway on Dana Drive. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Inside looks all clean and nice, in a chain store kinda way. Service is friendly and it was easy to get a dozen bagels. I just pointed to the ones I wanted, no weird ones like jalapeno cheese or anything like that, just normal stuff like the everything bagel and onion and poppy seed and garlic. I got some spreads cause you can't just show up with bagels and nothing to put on them. I just wish there was a toaster at the meeting room. Ok, paid and outta here, easy in and out. Horrible service!Family has been coming here for years but no longer will! The way they handled this situation was such a turn off..what happened to customer service?!..They wouldn't even honor a $5 coupon that expired which was on a gift card which we were buying $33 worth. I love the bagels but when you get one to go they are not toasted! Even when you ask for it to be doubled toasted. Maybe they need a new toaster. At this point I will just take the bagels home to toast myself. It's frustrating eating an untoasted bagel with cream cheese! read more

The restaurant itself is nice, not a lot of seating, but they do have some outside tables, which was great. The employees were all friendly and gave us time to make our decisions. We ordered the cheddar, bacon and egg on an everything bagel, the smoked brisket cheddar on cheddar jalapeño bagel, the bacon, avocado and tomatoes with egg on a plain bagel, and a cinnamon sugar bagel. The bagels here are tasty - I enjoy the consistency, I always know what I'm going to get. The consistency also extends to their service, I can usually count on it being subpar. Today at 6:44am, a young woman took my order, begrudgingly. I get the same thing every time. A toasted bagel with a schmear and I give my name. I'm used to them not getting my name right, I mean it IS five letters long (they made it six today, even after she had me spell it....TWICE). I'm also used to them not toasting the bagel like I ask for - because my expectations are so low now, I let it go. I'd let this review go if this was the first time this has happened - but it's a regular occurrence. These front end folks have ZERO customer service skills. Nada. None. It's really unfortunate because everything else about the place isn't bad, and I do not want to see it go out of business (that happens too frequently around here), but I hope that management sees this and makes a concerted effort to train their people that a smile, eye contact, a friendly "Good Morning", goes a long way. read more

I generally like this place and I like all their bagels and breakfast sandwich options. The issue is that they make mistakes on orders quite often. I would say expect about 1 out of 3 orders to be incorrect. The other problem is in regard to pick up orders. There is a sign telling you where to go to pick up. For some reason employees will ignore you if wait there. Literally feels like they're avoiding eye contact or fiddling around with other things to avoid you. It's not because they're busy. It's very odd but expect to wait a while to get your pick up order. read more

Meh...wait, maybe I shouldn't start the review like that. So uhhh, walked in as a 1st timer and noticed the space inside was a bit tight with the people standing around waiting for their orders along with the folks sitting at tables. It wasn't clear where I should go to order, so I just looked for a register. Looking at the menu, it looked like this was a spot for bagel type sandwiches, but I only wanted a toasted bagel with cream cheese which I assumed I'd be able to get - If this option was on the menu, I sure didn't find it. Ordered a cheese jalapeno bagel, toasted with cream cheese, about 5 mins later my name was called to grab my order. Out of about the 6 people working behind the counter, I was never greeted coming in, nor after I picked up my order - no thank you, no have a great day, no come see us again, no nothing. I felt like I just had a discreet casual encounter and I was quietly walking away from the home trying to avoid the neighbors noticing LOL! Get in the car, drive away, open the order and BAM!!!! the fluckin' bagel ain't even toasted! Sum-ma-ma-bi*ch! Ooh I'm heated now. $6 for one jalapeno cheese bagel with a swipe of cream cheese and this lonely bagel missed the toasting party that I witnessed all the other bagels going thru...ugh! read more

The place itself is great. I love Einstein's bagels. But the service at this location was atrocious. Soon as it was our turn to walk up and order, the guy at the counter just stared at us and then turned around and started doing other stuff. Came back after a minute and then asked us to step aside to take care of another customer. Finally getting a chance to order he was not paying attention to anything we asked for. Was to busy talking to his friends in line behind us. Our whole order came out wrong. After already waiting 15-20 minutes for our food we did not have time to wait again for them to fix it. Overall service if this location was appalling. No friendliness, no attention to customer in front of them and just crowded and uncomfortable. Best bagels in Redding, hands down!! The customer service is by far the best I have ever had at any business, honestly ever! I made a door dash bakers dozen order and received a few different bagels than what I was expecting. I called to ask if that's normal, or if that's standard, you get what you get, and talked with the manager (owner?) who said that's not normal and I should get the ones listed in the menu. He went above and beyond and made sure I received the bagels I was missing ASAP. We will continue to door dash Einstein Bros. and definitely go in to try more of their other food, which all look delicious. read more

I worked in customer service most of my life and when you walk up to the counter, the employee turns your back on you and another employee walks up and ask if we have been helped yet and we say no, she also turned her back on us with no acknowledgement from either of the employees. Waited a few minutes and still nothing, so we walked out. That is very poor customer service! read more

We went to Einstein's today for the first time. The staff was quite friendly and helpful, patient as we figured out what we wanted. We got breakfast sandwiches that were just delicious and we took some bagels with us to freeze since we live pretty far away. Excellent food and terrific service! read more

Shame on me for being a return customer hoping for better results. Without fail bagels are made wrong and I'm ignored trying to get the attention of a staff member to ask to have it remade. Then a staff member has the audacity to tell me "'next time instead of yelling to get our attention just ask us we're happy to help" problem is I waited for 3 people to be helped and I was at the counter waiting patiently and I didn't yell. I just asked a question... 2 customers around me couldn't believe they let me stand there waiting as long as I did, do better. My fault for going back? I guess so... will I return? Yes. Every sandwich is made very fresh and all ingredients blend nicely! We got there before closing time and they were very busy. Customer service was very good! Masks are not enforced in this location and most of the customers didn't wear masks. There is outdoor sitting with few tables. I'll visit again if I'm in the area. read more

Excellent food. Very tasty with lots of options. I will be coming back regularly. However, don't both ordering ahead for pick up. I ordered online 15 min prior to arriving and then sat for 45 min while 20+ other customers just got in line and received their ordered within 5 min. You would think that if I arrived early, my food might be bumped up as if I was an in person order, but it wasn't. Also, it several min of just standing at the counter to be acknowledged and asked if I was there for a pickup. Customer service is not the best and could use some training... but the food is definitely top notch. They receive lots of online, pick up and delivery orders. So I would highly recommend they remove all of the extra tables and chairs on the side and create a pick up station, so customers can walk up, grab their food and go. A smile, hello or communication would have given them 5 stars. read more
