First time here, I drove past it. Ended up parking around the corner and walking back. Great space. Massive counter. Fantastic selection of donuts. One person serving, but it went pretty quick as there was only one person ahead of me. It was the afternoon. These donuts rank high on my list of best donuts. It's almost sacrilegious but I'll say it. Maybe even better than Marie's in Sacramento. Not only was the raised dough soft and delicious, but the icing was on the cake frosting side of consistency. You know how some donut frosting is like a thin veneer of crumbly sweetness? This was thick and substantive. Not cake frosting, not a watered down version of icing, something closer to that cake frosting. A generous coating of perfection. I was sad they did not have any krullers. Had a quick overnight stay here in Redding for a meeting in the morning. Ask my hotel any place to get a good quick breakfast. The immediately with no hesitation pointed me to heavenly donuts. When I explain, I'm not really a donut guy they said they had the best breakfast sandwiches in town. That's what I needed! It was a half block walk. When I walked in, I knew I had the right place. The bakery was open to the counter so you could see all the work being completed. They were even flying the American flag in their kitchen. As I waited, it turned out to be only three or four minutes for my food, I watched a steady stream of locals come in and grab boxes of donuts to take out to their families and their workplace. Their walk up window was "broken." The lobby was closed. And when we walked up to the drive-thru, they said they couldn't serve us cuz it was a safety issue. I asked what alternative they had for in-person, and they said to drive a car through. We did not have a car with us, so this was not possible. I get that things happen, but then offer an alternative for in-person orders, like a call # or something, or a brief lobby walk-in. We were staying at the Americana next door and the motel host recommended the donut place. We were excited and walked over obviously. Super disappointed. Best donut shop in Downtown Redding: cannot beat the prices and they were extremely reasonable. Drive thru and front door window was also available 24 hours; Open 24/7 everyday and made fresh daily. When you pass by, you'll smell the fresh donuts which might make you hungry. Coffee, donuts, and sandwiches were really mouthwatering and sweet. Fast service and really nice staff: inside the store was super clean and organized. Adjacent to Thunderbird Lodge Motel and the fire station. Highly recommend to try this place and indeed worth it. The prices are reasonable, not like those high end trendy places that want 5 bucks for a donut! I wanted an apple fritter and my fave chocolate old fashioned, and they had both. There's even a drive thru, but I like to go inside and see what I'm gonna pick out of the case. Yeah, gimme that one! Friendly staff, clean store, great selection and fast service. The donuts are good so we ate there three days in a row before fishing.

The breakfast sandwiches changed I know it. They are now kind of a soggy microwaved croissant. They no longer have bacon (which is wild) and the donuts were kinda stale. I use to ever once in a blue moon crave the breakfast sandwiches and it would lead me to Getting donuts as well. When we walked into Heavenly Donuts, we were pleasantly surprised that they had lots of donuts and other baked pastries on display. It was fairly busy, and I saw workers bringIng out fresh donuts from the back and restocking the donuts that were low. The service was best good. The person who helped us was best friendly and helpful. The donuts and baked items we ordered were - old fashion chocolate donuts, glazed donuts, chocolate glazed donuts, baked chocolate donuts with sprinkles, chocolate donut bars, and maple donut bars. All items we purchased were delicious. The fried donuts (glazed) was not greasy, and the baked donuts was not thick or dry. All donut items bought was consumed by the family. No leftovers! A fairly typical donut shop. The guy who helped me was friendly, helpful, and super patient while I navigated their vast selection, struggling to make my selection. I ended up getting the banana nut muffin and the bran muffin. Both were really quite good. Banana nut was only a little sweet (which I preferred) and incredibly fluffy (unless my taste buds deceived me I think it was made with sour cream). The bran muffin was a solid hearty muffin, not sweet at all and very filling. I marginally preferred the bran over the banana nut but can't go wrong with either. read more
