Both times I've been to this location the wait time is unbelievable. The first time, I thought maybe they didn't have enough staff, even though there were 4 employees and only a few people in the drive thru on a weekday morning. I had to go inside instead of waiting in the drive thru. The second time I came I waited in the drive thru for 45 minutes, then once I finally got to the window they didn't have the order right and acted rude, inconvenienced and not concerned if it was the right sandwich or not. Their bagels and food is on point, I'll give them that! It is such a shame that because of their poor customer service and unnecessary long wait time that I won't be back again. I just made the mistake of going here again because it was the only place around open and on my way. 2 cars in the drive thru, long wait. They were out of fruit so I told the lady to scratch me previous order but then she still gave me my previous one plus my new one hahahaha. Southwest bagel is gross by the way!! Today I waited in the drive through for over 30 minutes. And it's not possible to get out of this drive through once you're in it and there are cars behind you, so I was pretty much stuck at that point. When I finally got to the window, the guy working was pretty apathetic. I made a comment about being stuck in the drive through once you're there and he said, "That's pretty much how I feel here most days." Because apparently complaining about how much you hate your job to the customer you've just made wait for 30+ minutes, is now considered acceptable professional behavior? I thought it was very inappropriate. And then he stared into space until I reminded him to hand me the rest of my order so I could finally leave. Got to work, opened my bag, and found a ball of napkins so crumpled that I had to examine them first to make sure they weren't actually already used. Icing on the cake: in all that time that I waited, they hadn't managed to toast my two bagels as I had requested. I've been to this location maybe three times before and everything has always been fine... Not particularly stellar, but certainly within the bounds of acceptability. Wow, I should have read these reviews before going in, but it's Einstein's Bagels right?! How could it be bad? It was!!!!! Oh my gosh if there were negative rating I would give it a -5, slow grumpy old man at the order counter, taking over 20 minutes to help 4 customers in front of us. Then when we get there they're out of half the bagels we need and tell me they don't make any more today.... What the hell? Then we wait another 20 minutes for one, yes 1 bagel to be made!!!!! What the hell! On top of that a piece of paper, like cheese paper was in my bagel... I brought it up to a lady working, she said sorry but didn't do anything!!!!! We stop here on the regular as the kids are being dropped off for school. Staff is always friendly and nice. However this morning I went I. And ordered the usual, as I was waiting I observed the woman preparing the order and saw her put cream cheese on the bagel. I ordered it with no cream cheese. As she handed me my order I asked her if she put cream cheese on it. She did not say anything, she just went to hand me the order. I told her I ordered no cream cheese and she still tried to hand me the order. I asked her again about the cream cheese and then she said no. I told her she did because I watched her do it. She then proceeded to turn and angrily throw the order in the trash, made another one and the walked up and threw it on the counter in front of me and stormed off. Again this has been the only bad experience I have ever had at this location but it really changed my opinion. Went for a quick bite and it took the girl 3 times to get my order right- she was more interested in chatting with here friends ahead of us. She then charged me 50 cents extra for Swiss cheese on a ham and cheese. Took our drink order wrong, then overcharged us 25 cents for Her mistake. When we were almost finished with our expensive($19.47 for 2 small bagel sandwiches)meal when we talked to a passing manager about our overpaying and bad service. He said he would take care of it but Never returned. Bad service and .75 cents are what will keep us away forever! I will have to concur with the other reviews on the lousy drive through experience. I could not go into the store as the lobby was closed due to a sign that said they were having "staffing" issues. the wait was much longer than you'd expect in a drive through. I ordered a sandwich, got back to my office and the bagel I requested was completely wrong. I hate whole wheat bagels...first world problems I'm sure but when you drive 15 minutes to order a simple sandwich it would be lovely to get what you asked for. read more

Coldest day of the year so far, scheduled one person to work the store + the Baker. Drive-thru closed, Baker working register (with rough English) almost 15 minutes to get a bagel sandwich and chai latte... only 3 customers in the store. SMH. This place is THE WORST. They rarely get my order correct. They've forgotten to include items completely. The drive-thru takes a minimum of 20 minutes. Last weekend they were completely out of stock of even the most basic menu items AND the drive-thru was closed. This weekend we braved the storm and tried to go in, only to find a sign saying "due to staff shortage" ONLY the drive-thru was open. By the time we were back in the car and able to get in line, 4 other vehicles had pulled in ahead of us. Considering how long it takes when the store is actually staffed, we chose not to risk it and left. We probably won't be back. Oh, one time they made more coffees than they needed or forgot to give one to someone that paid for it, either way they had it leftover and they gave it to me for free. So there's that. read more

This place was fast and friendly to me. They were pretty busy but still got my order right, and done very quickly. My bagel was toasted and usually a lot of places burn them or under toast them but here they do it amazingly. My coffee was extremely good. This is gonna be my new breakfast place for sure! read more

I'm very disappointed. I asked for a half dozen bagels, garlic and everything. As she was entering it in I saw it said sliced. I corrected her, no I do not want them sliced. As she is loading my bagels into the bag another employee takes one of the bagels out of the bag to provide to the relatively attractive woman looking to have a sandwich. They literally do all of this right in front of me and the girl looks at me and says wow we only have two garlic left, can I give you something else? Ok you do realize what just happened. Unacceptable I tell her. So the guy that did it that fat bearded POS comes over and says I'm sorry guy we just ran out it happens. So rather than blow up on this obviously desperate disgusting person . I take my bagels to go. I get home sure enough my bagels are sliced, only half way sliced though not all the way. So they couldn't even get that right. This place never has their drive through line open. They always burn the bagels or sandwiches when they toast them. I went threw the drive thru today at 11:07 and waited in line for 20 minutes. When I finally pulled up to menu to order my bagel sandwich, there was no apology for the wait. I ordered my sandwich on an Everything bagel but they were out so I asked for garlic which they had. When I got home I opened up my bag and unwrapped my sandwich to find a turkey sandwich on a whole wheat bagel. I drove back and waited another 10 minutes. Again, no apology and no refund offered. I had to ask for one. After the refund was given I asked what was going on today, if they were short staffed or if they had hired new people? She told me they were always short staffed, again no apology. I will not be back. I love the Einstein's at 12th and Lamar and was initially excited when this location opened so close to where I live but the difference between the two locations is unbelievable. read more

Poor management! Don't even bother. I ordered 2 bagels toasted with butter and a coffee. They could not get the order right. I received a cookie and coffee. I asked where is my order and the guy looked at me like a deer in headlights. Other people complaining about their orders. Staff were yelling at one another from the back. So sad that it was not even crowded. There were only 6 people present counting myself. The staff have poor multitasking skills, poor knowledge of menu, staff they do not know how to take orders correctly and extremely slow paced. I have to blame this on poor management. The drive thru had been closed for the past 2 days and today it opened..this is around 7am. 2 cars were in front of me and did not see a big order handed to them. Took over 20 minutes to get a plain bagel and a strawberry banana smoothie. The smoothie was great, but it took wayyyyy too long. Ridiculous. Stopped in for a bagel sandwich on the way to the airport. Arrived at 10 am, nobody in line, cashier took my order and i thought everything was fine. I stood waiting for my order for 6 minutes when another person comes up to me asking if i am waiting for something. I said "Yes" the order i placed over 5 minutes ago. She then said "What did you order", i pointed to the TV screens that shows each order and what they work off of to make the orders. I then asked "Did you start making it yet", the response i got was no, i can do that now if you want. I said no thank you, ill take a refund at this point. Then the original cashier comes back from the back and i asked her "What happened to my order", she said "I went on break after taking it, someone else was supposed to make it". Manager then comes out and asks me if he can get me anything (WTF) i said Yes a refund please. I did end up getting a refund but these people are spaced out when it comes to customer service and delivering a product. I do NOT recommend coming to this location, it was a terrible experience and after reading other reviews my experience is just par for the course. read more

This is the worst run drive through location I have ever been to in my life. The driveway took 30 minutes today with only 3 cars in front of me just to get to the speaker to order. Then when I pulled up to the speaker I was asked to wait. It took another 10 minutes after they when all I was ordering was one bagel and cream cheese. If the driveway had not been trapped in by the curb and the car behind me I would've left earlier on. As much as I love the Einstein's brand, this was not the first time I have experienced this situation here and I will make sure not to come back again. I was late to my class today because of this experience and it really ruined the start to my day. read more

Well I'm sorry to report that all the reports concerning the promptness and customer service attention of this location are true. They are more focused on doing something else then on dealing with the customer I wonder what it takes when there's no one in line to order a bagel and get it toasted mate I will never know one of those places and I will never return. It has the difficulty of approaching and exiting due to the one ways Access Road along the freeway so for some it will be impossible to get to or let's just say so inconvenient that you don't want to go and for me it took a lot of u-turns and around the freeway and next ramp and I really tried period I really like Einstein Bagels I've had them in many other cities I know I have a favorite in Las Vegas I'm always happy that they have pumpernickel. But alas not all Einstein's have the same IQ. Good luck I sure hope they can put the right staff in here too up the customer care and The Business because even something as simple as greeting people taking your order which seem to be kind of important especially when there's nobody else around but reputations are earned and this place has surely earned theirs read more

The bagels are fine, but the service we received was crap. Kid behind the counter clearly wanted to be anywhere but there. I wanted to purchase 14 bagels, and was informed "no, the baker's dozen is only 13." He seemed disappointed to hear I'd be happy to pay for the extra. When it came time to pay, the kid handed my card to three different people before running it, then returning it with a receipt for someone else's order. "No, you don't need to sign," he assured me. "But this is for someone else's order. Whose breakfast did I just buy?" "Oh." *scampers off, runs again for the correct amount* When I got home, I realize they neglected one of the bagels...one for a polite, but still disappointed kid. I waited until the next day to check my bank statement to see, and sure enough, they left BOTH charges on my card - MY 14 bagel order, not 13, AND someone else's order. Not only did they neglect one of the bagels I PAID FOR but they kept the additional charge on my card. I called and spoke with manager, Chris, who offered NO apology and said I'd have to come back in to get the refund. Nope, I have no intention of ever darkening their door again, so I emailed corporate hoping they could help recover the fraudulent charges. Several business days later, I've heard nothing. I just bought two bagels from the drive thru window. I pull away and reach in the bag to grab a bagel and they are ice cold not room temperature but out of a refrigerator cold. I make a u turn on William Cannon and go back but inside this time. I take my ice cold bagels back inside and talk to a woman. She tells me they put the bagels in the refrigerator after they bake them to cool them off so they can be put in the display case??? Whats wrong with hot bagels being put in the bins? She was nice enough to toast my bagels and butter them. She also gave me a card for a free bagel but I will give the card away because I won't be back. This place is poorly managed. They want customers to call ahead if they need to order a dozen bagels, which is ridiculous. The manager was mad that I wanted a dozen Asiago bagels, since the only batch on hand was just out of the oven. Mad at a customer for making a purchase? Are you kidding? Went yesterday for the second time. Plus - good coffee. Con - the shmear was a very thin scrape. In fact, it was so thin, you couldn't even taste it. I thought maybe the lack of shmear was an aberration because they're new, but it was the same the second time, so I'm thinking that that's what they do on all bagels. I'm not asking that the shmear be an inch thick - Austin isn't NYC - but I do think you should be able to taste it. Very disappointing. Also, I have another little bone to pick. There's only one low table indoors in the AC, and that one single table was occupied by the manager. If you have trouble getting into a high seat - guess what? Yep, you're outside in the heat while the manager is in the AC. That seemed off to me. Maybe it's not the best place for those with physical limitations. I usually love Einstein's bagels . I've been coming here for years all over town and love that the bagels are consistently good . This location , however , is such a disappointment and I'm shocked management hasn't responded to these reviews and done something to improve this location . First of all , their inventory is usually pretty terrible . I've been here when they only have 3 or 4 types of bagels left while other locations are always well stocked with any type of bagel you could want . Second , the service is just horrific . I don't know if they are just understaffed or if staff just doesn't really care but every time I've been here I've waited a ridiculous amount of time for a bagel . I usually only order a toasted bagel with some cream cheese . Not complicated at ALL . It seems that even that will take minimum 15 min when the place is empty . Everyone moves at a snail's pace . If there is at all a crowd forget getting your food in a timely manner . This location has a lot of improvement to do to be up to the standard of other locations . While I love bagels I don't think I will be returning here since every time I leave annoyed . read more

That one star is being generous. Every time I go there it's 10-30 mines to get a bagel. BUT this last time was it. After being burned by not either getting what I order correct or just plain not getting something I ordered I actually checked the bag before I drove off. When I realized I didn't get one thing I said something to the girl at the window. She then turned and told this older lady with brown hair and that woman pretty much freaked out. Long story short she said I never ordered it and I said I did and she said no and I said yes and she said well you didn't pay for it cause it's not on your receipt. So I said ok then I still need another sandwich and then she didn't know what to do. So she asked me why didn't I say something when she called the order back to me (which by the way SHE didn't call the order back to me the girl at the window did) and I said cause you called it back to me correctly and she said well was it correct on the screen when I ordered and I said there is no screen in the drive thru that states what you ordered only a menu and a speaker box. And I told her she was being so rude and she said "why are you still here!?" And I said cause I need my food that I ordered. Then I asked to speak to her manager and she said he wasn't there and I said ok well what's his name and it when on and on and on until I got my sandwich and drove off... only to realize when I got home my drinks were incorrect. ‍ read more

I've had hundreds of visits to various Einstein's over the years. I've never been as annoyed as I was on my visit yesterday. I had 3 small kids. I had my hands full. There were no other customers waiting for service. There were 3 employees working behind the counter, all doing their best to avoid eye contact. I did not see any muffins. All I wanted to do was ask if they had any muffins. After a long wait while trying to keep the kids corralled, I finally got to ask. I got a curt "No". Really? Not one single muffin? Kids do not do bagels. We left and went got donuts! read more
