My family and I have had the pleasure of dining in Jason's Deli's across the state, but we're always happy to return to our neighborhood location in Southpark Meadows. I recently catered a party through this location and everything went off without a hitch. Ana answered all of my question and gave me constructive advice on different menu items. There was some items i didn't remember until the day before the event and when I called, she was able to add them to my order, no problem. Bobby delivered my order on time, unpacked everything and set up the sandwiches on the tables. The salads, sandwiches, pizzas and deserts were fresh just like everything we've had at this location and the price was reasonable. A few of our guest had not previously had Jason's Deli before, but after trying the salad and sandwiches I can say you've gained some new customers. Hot take: national chain restaurants in Austin don't hit the same as they do in suburbs of Houston. When I stepped into this Jason's Deli location, the magic just wasn't there. The food is solid, but basic... Jason's Deli offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. My usual order is the Manager's Special, which comes with a half sandwich, chips and a side. For those needing something heartier, I recommend getting the full size. I always order the Chicken Panini (grilled chicken, provolone, pesto aioli, spinach, and tomato on sourdough) with the Spicy Seafood Gumbo. Strangely, the gumbo is solid! read more

If you're looking for a Texas size spud? They said...come to Jason's Deli. So we did. They have the biggest baked potato I've ever seen. My wife and I both ordered The Plain Jane combo. They're huge! My wife and I should have just ordered one and split it. They are very generous with the toppings that came with Cheddar, bacon, butter, sour cream, green onions on them. The only complaints we had were, that both of our baked potatoes skins were overcooked and very tough, and the skin on the baked potatoes weren't seasoned. The inside of the baked potatoes were very good. The combo included one trip to the salad bar and unlimited soft drinks and tea. Everything on the salad bar was fresh and delicious. All of the vegetables that you could make your salad were very fresh, crispy and delicious. The potato salad was really good too. The chocolate mousse was to die for. It was so creamy and rich. To top all of this off, they have free unlimited ice cream cones....vanilla, chocolate and chocolate/vanilla mix. Nice way to finish off a good meal. The service was lacking. When we were ordering, the person made us feel like we were being rushed to place our orders. It felt like we were being an inconvenience to them...we would have left, but we'd never been to a Jason's Deli before and we wanted to give them a try...so we stayed. The restaurant was clean. I have lived across the street from this place for 3 years and never knew how absolutely amazing and delicious it is! The menu is huge with salads, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, pastas, potatoes and tons of soups. It has an absolutely insane salad bar with SO MANY options and FREE soft serve ice cream! I will be dining here all the time for now on. I ordered to go and it was super fast too. Don't let deli fool you. This is not a small counter deli. It's a big restaurant with tons of seating and parking. I ordered the salad bar and for $20 filled my container so full. I grabbed my drink and a table while they prepped my chicken pot pie soup. It was delicious! It comes out warm with healing chicken and veg and a nice wedge of crust on the side. This deli is located directly next-door to an Oyster bar and Waterloo icehouse. My personal favorite item on the menu is their French dip known as the beefeater which comes with a cup of Aus jus. To be honest, it's been a few years since I've set foot inside of Jason's deli and a few things have changed since then. If you decide to get the salad bar, you are permitted one trip to it only, no refills. They will also hand you a blue glove to wear while handling the utensils at the salad bar. When you've finished your meal, you can help yourself to a complementary ice cream cone. The quality of their food here is consistently good. We went here this evening for dinner had California club with fruit and manager's special with sandwich chips and trip to salad bar, with drinks about $30. For sandwich's it's pricey but not unreasonable. Sandwiches were toasted tasty and salad bar was excellent with a wide variety of selections and all seemed fresh and well maintained. I really love Jason's Deli! I first discovered Jason's at a work meeting a few years ago and have been going ever since. I love their Reuben sandwich with corned beef. This place piles on the corned beef which I love as it reminds me of the amazing Jewish delicatessen's in San Diego that I miss so much! It's a little taste of home. After some shopping around South Park Meadows my partner and I were ready to have some fresh salad to cool us down, give us more energy for more shopping, and get some nice a/c over our heads on a hot summer weekend. We decided to pop in to Jason's Deli as we knew it would be the best lunch spot despite the shopping center hustling and bustling with shoppers. We were thrilled to see they are offering salad bar eats with a one time visit to the bar. Long gone are the days were you can go "endlessly" to the salad bar for seconds or thirds due to the COVID climate. I appreciate Jason's being as safe as possible all while offering staples from their menu and I even saw a manager's special written down on a chalkboard when you approach the registers. I appreciated the kind service from the cashiers to the folks providing our cold salad plates and utensils. Thank you for being nice and letting us know what to do (i.e. one time at the salad bar is allowed, drinks are unlimited refills, etc). Plenty of space to spread out from other parties or if you have a large family or group you will find plenty of space here. We like sitting in the booths but do note that if it is busy you may have patrons looking over the wall that separates the line and the dining area. Jason's Deli just ain't what it used to be. Admittedly, it has been quite a while since I have been to one. I used to really like their salad bar. My girlfriend and I were looking for something light after a relatively rich and decadent meal yesterday, we would have went to Salata but that's easily a 20-30 minute car ride, so we figured we'd try giving Jason's a shot. Long story short, it's nothing special and has gone way down hill. Seems like the salad bar has gotten smaller and more expensive, and the quality of the ingredients on the salad bar have gone down hill. The spinach looked wilted, and many of the vegetables were unappetizing. They don't put black olives on the salad bar anymore either. I got a half of a build your own sandwich. You used to be able to add the muffuletta olive mix as a choice to your sandwich for free, but now there is an up charge. Lastly, it was hot in there. In looking around, I could see that much of the clientele seemed pretty elderly, so maybe that is the demographic they are catering to, which I guess is why there was no a/c going on at all, but I found it incredibly uncomfortable. When I tell you this place has the best BLT I've ever had in my life I MEAN it! The first time I tried their BLT I was ravenously hungry so I thought maybe my hunger was making it taste better than it was, but every time I've had it since it has been absolutely amazing. Super good ingredients as well, everything is so fresh tasting and the bacon is perfectly cooked and doesn't have those nasty fatty bits I hate! Their mac and cheese is very good as well, and while I didn't really love their chicken noodle soup, their chicken pot pie soup is SO good. Last time I went here I got a whole bowl instead of just a side because it was so yummy! Not to mention their strawberry shortcake! SOOOO GOOD!!! I also thought their prices were a bit high at first (as they always are with sandwich places LOL) and while I do still think that's kinda true with the prices of some of their sides, they definitely give you a sandwich worth your buck! I have a confession to make... I have never stepped foot inside this business and it's only 7 minutes from my house but I am going to tell you a story. I'm from Florida and I used to go to the salad buffet at the Jason's Deli there. Let me tell you something, never have I ever made my buffet salad the way it comes to me when I order for delivery. I mean this thing weights over 2lb and everything I add to my salad which is damn near all the option are so eloquently packaged into this clam shell, it's a work of art. These salads are the freshest bestest tasting thing for less than $12. If you went to Whole Foods Salad Bar, this salad would cost $30. My second favorite thing is the strawberry shortcake (just get it, you will not be disappointed). You deserve dessert. I'm not a fan of the baked potatoes. But I do love the soups, sandwiches and panini's. This is the only salad where I feel like I'm eating this amazing indulgence but it's low key good for me! read more

Actual Literal Fraud. Had to file a dispute with my Credit Card. They overcharged me. Like an idiot I ran my card anyway to see the receipt. Their printer wouldn't print one. So I demanded one and as expected I was significantly overcharged. I pointed this out and the cashier argued with me! I tried again, she persisted. At this point I should have known that this was all intentional but I was flabbergasted. I got loud. I shouted for a manager. He was right over her shoulder encouraging this process! His nametag read "Sir Gregory". He pretended to give rectify the overcharge, but then didn't give me the salad I ordered, and when I checked my statement, it still charged me the full amount. I've been going to a lot of Jason's Delis in Austin and Houston for quite some time. This particular location has been in South Park Meadows pretty much since it opened (I think). We go there pretty regularly. The salad bar is a wonderful meal, anytime. They have very good sandwiches. One of my favorites though is their baked potato with chicken (breast), cheese, pico de gallo and Southwestern spices. I always get the smaller portion potato and usually get two full meals out of it. The service here is excellent, it's always very clean and and is a really nice place to eat. read more

A cashier named Ana at Jason's deli at south park meadows just told me their curbside is not for any third party drivers (even though we actually deliver food to people's homes). There is a way for the restaurant to add that to the notes for drivers but it's not mentioned. I had to go inside the store even though my order was placed online, it seems to decline transactions unless you include a tip (which is not allowed on the company card), and I only accepted it because jasonsdeli.com offers curbside pickup on their website. If you want your order done right, Jason's Deli at South Park is not the place to go. Something needs to be added or done correctly whenever I order a pickup or eat-in. Today (2/29/24), I ordered online and clicked "NO Au Jus," and it printed on the ticket correctly. But when I got home, what did I find in my bag? That's right - the Au Jus sauce. I also ordered utensils...it has a big "YES" on the ticket. Guess what? No utensils are included in the order. But as one Manager told me when I called to explain all the mix-ups in a prior order, he told me, people make mistakes. He is sure it won't happen again. I had not ordered from Jason's Deli at South Park Meadows in a few months, as no online order had been prepared correctly. I would have rated them five stars if I paid for my order to be incorrect. But I paid to have it prepared as ordered online. Why is the customer expected to inspect everything in the bag before they leave? Does Jason's Deli provide refunds or a discount for customers to double-check their orders? I have to be honest, the reviews for this place is why i came but i probably will not be back. I am rating 2 stars because the only decent part of the experience was the people (they were very friendly) and the speed of service (i ordered online and had my order within 10 min). We ordered a wide variety of items and the lack of flavor and overall presentation was very sub standard for a place that prides themself on being a deli. You can skip the following if you don't want a breakdown of food details. Side Caesar salad - barely any dressing, salad was so grainy i could only eat a few bites before just throwing away. Please wash your produce. Side cold pasta salad - so very salty. Practically inedible. Also got thrown away after a couple of bites. Side mac and cheese - very very bland and swimming in watery cheese liquid. Also got thrown away. Roast beef sandwich on rye - actually not too bad but bread was a little soggy. Turkey club - eh. Probably would not order again. Bread was soggy, tomato was gritty and again for the not so tasty greens. Choc chip cookies - at least they were ok. Not sure if they are house made.
